CWEP Project 1

Posted By Alisha T. Stephen, Monday, February 17, 2020
Hi! My name is Alisha Stephen, I’m 22 (almost 23) years old & I was born & raised in Lawrenceville, GA. I stay at home with my mom & older brothers. Before doing Lovegevity I was hoping from job to job mainly in retail. I was wanting to branch out but no one was accepting my application.  I thought long & hard about being a wedding planner & one day I asked my mom for help & I took the leap! I plan on becoming a very successful wedding planner that lives worry free about finances, time & stress.
In my project, I’ve been given a very sweet couple who is young & vibrant! They want an emerald green wedding with gold accents & touches of pale pink. The gold creates an amazing pop of color while the pink brings the two bold colors back down to earth & mellows things out.

CWEP Projec 1 - Fall Inspiration

Posted By Alisha T. Stephen, Monday, September 9, 2019
Updated: Monday, September 9, 2019

I thought I'd make a fall inspired wedding mood board as my first project. Fall is around the corner & as the leaves change color, lots of inspiration arises. Fall is known for its red, yellow & orange toned leaves. This color scheme in my opinion is intriguing & beautiful. The bride will stand out in her gorgeous white dress. The groom can stem away from black tuxedos & get away with an nontraditional color like navy, burgundy or even a deep plum.

Hope you guys enjoy! Please provide me with all the feedback possible

CWEP Project 2

I just finished my project 2 and had a lot of fun! I really liked developing my packages and "selling" myself to a client. I think doing all these tasks and assignments will really help me get my website design set up.

CWEP Project #1 - Mood Board

Posted By Marian Malasig, Friday, March 1, 2019
Updated: Friday, March 1, 2019

Greetings from San Francisco! My name is Marian Malasig. I just finished my 2nd week of this course and I'm feeling so much joy getting into a profession that excites me! With this mood board, I went with a muted tone of Ivory, Mint with a touch of Wine colors. I have always imagined a wedding right when summer ends and fall begins- not just to mark the transition of seasons but a transition of two beautiful people joining together.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Jannelle Gooding-Gibbs, Tuesday, August 7, 2018
Updated: Tuesday, August 7, 2018

My name is Jannelle Gooding-Gibbs and I am 27 years old. I am a proud mother of an entertaining, cunning 7 year old boy and a newly married gal. I grew up in a very cultural-driven West Indian household and spent my youth back and forth to a little tropical island called Grenada. My journey started when I got engaged in December of 2016, in the same tropical island of Grenada. I was, well still am, working a full time job as an office manager at a Ford dealership, when I was struck with the crazy idea to plan my whole wedding on my own. So for 15 months, I have worked tirelessly to plan, create and draw out this very peculiar perfect special event. I saw my vision and plans literally come to fruition on Monday, May 28th 2018. This was the beginning, the birth, when the light bulb went off to Jae Renee’ Event & Design.

Knowledge is power and I believe educating yourself on your passion is always a plus. In this field being hands-on and having the freedom to create our vision with guidelines, keeps us in check. I want to help execute the vision from the tiniest detail to the big picture. There’s nothing like seeing every single thought you’ve ever envisioned, come to life. That’s my mission!

Raj & Kesha met, 6 years ago on a flight to visit family, for the holidays, back in their home country Trinidad & Tobago. They’ve been inseparable ever since! Two years after their first meeting Raj popped the question. Kesha decided to spend the rest of her life with him at a celebrated with beautiful ceremony with close family and friends. Now they’re expecting a little bun and they couldn’t be more excited. They decided when celebrating their baby, they wanted to keep their Indian/Hindu roots alive and respect their parents in the process. Using bright bold traditional colors like gold, magenta, purples and reds are what we focused on.

Hello Everyone!

My name is Cindy Valerio and I am from Southern California. It has always been my dream to create and design events professionally. I also enjoy getting to help other people bring their dream events come to life because it challenges me to push my ability to be more creative.

I decided to take this course because every time I organized events for my family and close friends, they would say I should do this professionally because I'm good at it. Of course I don’t really pay attention to what they are saying because they are my family, but it made sense now and I realize that we only live once. Only once! So we have to make most out of it or else regret it after life. Now here I am looking forward to learning a lot more.

My first example client wants an elegant high fashion, enchanted fairy tale forest themed. My bride to be will be wearing Elie Saab fall 2017 couture collection together with her bridesmaids with different couture styles. My groom to be will be wearing Versace fall 2014 couture collection together with his groomsmen but different fashion styles. Wedding cake will be from confectionary collection of Vera Wang x Laduree. And bride will arrived in a horse-drawn Cinderella carriage.

Thanks for your time looking at my work.

Blog Contribution 18.6 Assignment

Posted By Carmen Rosales, Monday, April 30, 2018

Hello everyone! My name is Carmen Rosales, I am from LA California. I have been working in the legal field for over 10 years and although I don't hate my job, I also don't love it.  I have always felt that I have so much creativity and I'm the first to jump in when it comes to planing any event or party.  I was so happy to find this course, and nowI am almost finished and hope to be a certified wedding and event planner, very shortly!

Through this course, I learned about the strong work ethic needed to be an event planner. I gained so much insight from the material and lectures provided by the instructors. The biggest takeaway for me was realizing what a huge network the wedding and event planning industry is, Im excited to jump in and start my own company.

My hope is to help couples realize the wedding/event of their dreams and to ease the stress of having to worry about throwing an epic party. My other passion in life is traveling (currently uploading from FIJI!!) So, I'd also like to explore joining my two passions and dabble into destination weddings.

Dream Team Productions is a firm believer in giving back to the communities in which it operates, and to this end supports a number of local charities, I'd like to help couples who are less fortunate as well as provide charity work , perhaps in helping plan events at local schools and/or church and community centers.

We are a boutique planning, management and staffing company based out of Florida.  We want to expand our business to New York, and will travel to most destinations. We want to be the company that brings about change in delivering live and virtual experiences to our clients using event specific technology and apps. Bringing a 3-D virtual picture of event spaces and floor plans before the day of the event.  Using apps to create timelines and send reminders to vendors. Using project management technology to inform vendors of updates in real time.  Engaging in video conferencing and live chat.

We promise to deliver this mission by providing tools, information and engaging resources. Simply, and Effectively providing a unique experience that our clients will remember for years to come. Always a Signature Event Experience.

What I have enjoyed learning from taking this course and completing Project 2, is that it is of vital importance to know every detail starting with design, marketing tools and concepts, understand your competition, offer certain planning tools to bride to get her motivated, understand the details and roles for each person in the bridal party and remember to cover your business expenses and account for any liability issues that may arise.  Planning an event can be so much fun, but most people don’t realize all the details that go into planning a spectacular event that clients will remember for a lifetime.

Prospective Clients: Casey Noto & Patrick Donahue
Mother of the Bride: Joan Noto
Wedding Date: November 10, 2018
Religious ceremony: St. John Catholic Church in Boca Raton, Florida.
Venue for Reception: Waterstone Resort and Marina Boca Raton, Curio Collection by Hilton

Initial Consult: Zoom Video Conference meeting on January 12, 2018.  I will email a response which will include Canvas boards giving prospective client ideas of services, design aspects and venue that was originally talked about at the initial conversation at a bridal showcase where I met prospective client and her mother on January 7, 2018.

I have attached Canvas boards to show clients a few pictures of venue they are considering and to include information regarding my services.  I have also included a simple budget analysis for their review.  A list of one of the teams that work with me for weddings within a budget of $45,000. I have also attached a video that gives prospective clients an insight about my company, my team, services offered and about my experience as a planner.  My goal is help each client save time, save money and make the planning process as stress free as possible.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Tiffany Burke, Wednesday, April 5, 2017
Updated: Saturday, April 8, 2017

Hello Everyone, my name is Tiffany Burke. I have recently graduated from college with a Business Administrations degree. I am currently in the process of soon receiving this certification for this course. Soon I will be trying to start my wedding planning business on the side and networking in the upcoming NM Wedding Expo in the fall. My goal for this year is to start my wedding planning/ design business and try to complete 5 weddings/event before the end of this year. I am so grateful for this course. I've gotten more out of this class than any other classes I've taken in college. I really enjoy all of the online discussions and all the website that has been provided in trying to start up a business. I can't wait to take other courses that is provided by LWPI in the fututre and hope one day I get to be a LWPI guest speaker in the future to help other wedding planners lord willing if I am successful enough! This project definitely helped me get an idea of all the info and questions I would ever have to ask a bridal couple and vendors. This has definitely helped me prepare for what I really need to do in the future.

The wedding theme for this project will be a white fairytale garden wedding that will take place on a summer afternoon and night. The wedding will be held in a romantic setting at the Botanic Gardens in Albuquerque, New Mexico. My bridal couple, Dimitri and Stephanie, takes their love for nature, animals, fine dining and dressing up  for fancy events and use it to make a memorable wedding where guests would feel like they walked into a high garden  fairytale wedding with animals of all shape and sizes are present and in harmony. To enchant the atmosphere and mood of not only the ceremony but also the reception, there will be high white floral walls covered with thousands of blush, cream, and white roses and peonies flowers; along with high statement floral structures and centerpieces near the guest tables. With four large tents casted in the middle of the Botanic garden, there will be white Victorian furniture, statement pieces, and arrangements will be draped and roofed with white linen from the tent. To further enhance the look and feel of the fairytale garden, large crystal chandeliers with white iris flowers will drip over the whole entire space of the reception and a trail of candles lining a walkway from the reception area to the bridge; there will be candles floating on the lake to mirror the stars in the dark clear sky.

Project 2: Selling Your Services

Posted By Victoria Bailey, Thursday, October 6, 2016
Oh wow, what an experience!  This, by far, was my favorite of the three projects!  Seeing my own name and business name used with a logo inspires me even more to create and perfect my craft.  I look forward to starting my own business.  I've always long to be my own boss, and now I can.  This project helped me put everything into perspective to really determine what services I will offer and gave me the extra push to keep going!

My experience with the online course was Amazing! I joined the program in 2014. I had some issues and had put it on hold when I was on my final project 3. I started back recently to find out the program had changed and I needed more assignments, survey's and online discussions, and I am so grateful for these new requirements it has taught me a whole lot more and forced me to get involved. The podcasts from seasoned planners are so informative(Simone Vega) is who I've listened to the most, she is AWSOME!

I am so grateful for all the information I retained in the program I now have the tools I need to start my own business and be successful at doing it with all the guidelines provided to me I will now have the reassurance that I felt was needed to build my business with clients and vendors once I have completed the course as a Certified Wedding and Event Planner.

Educational Foundation and Experience

Posted By Danielle L. Vera, Friday, August 3, 2012
Updated: Friday, August 3, 2012

Hi All!!

As my initial LWPI educational experience comes to a close, I am reflecting upon how this foundation will act as my initial experience for planning someones actual wedding (EEK!). Having planned my own wedding from beginning to end (with no idea what I was doing!) and having gone through this process with Lovegevity, I have a huge appreciation for what planners and coordinators do.

I am an inspired, artistic and individual planner. I know details are the glue to the stories the couples will try to tell and they do make all the difference. Cohesiveness is our greatest challenge and I plan on utilizing Lovegevity and Association of Bridal Consultants educational and informational seminars as a way to hone my skills and craft.

This course has laid the foundation for me to plant my knowledge in new brides and allow them the opportunity to create the wedding of their dreams. My job is to make their vision a reality and knowing my ability to do that through my knowledge of the industry and experiences.

I must let prospective clients know, that although I may not have 5, 10, or 20 years of experience, EVERYONE started somewhere. I can promise them my best, even on a bad day, my full attention and my full dedication to ensuring they are having the time of their life on their wedding day.

And next week when I take my final, I know the education will not end, and neither will the friendships I have made along the way, but I will be on my own and the next grade I get will be from a bride, booking me as her wedding planner.

3 ways to create an additional wedding planner revenue stream !

Posted By Chris De Houwer, Tuesday, December 20, 2011

3 ways to create an additional wedding planner revenue stream !

1 ) Destination wedding planning

2 ) More then wedding planning, keep a wide scope

3 ) B2B & B2C Event planning

Destination weddings are the trend of the 3rd millennium, no doubt about it. In some Scandinavian countries more then 30% of all weddings are destination weddings.

While advantages of destination weddings are numerous, they’re beyond the scope of this post, and at the same time they appear to be a threat for local wedding planners.

Well, they don’t have to be. Why not turn them into an opportunity to create more revenue, and to enhance your wedding planner business, or even specialize in them.

Let’s look at the options ;

Many resort hotels all over the world have an event manager, who usually is also the person in charge of weddings. Many offer (all-in) packages, and there is little or no business opportunity there, since packages are widely available on the internet.

In most popular wedding destinations there are one or more small weddingplanner agencies, or private entrepreneurs, living and working in the area, with a personal approach to wedding planning, just like you have. What’s more, often they are interested in cooperation with wedding planners in various countries. Now, that’s an opportunity !

As you know, one of the biggest challenges in successful wedding planning is to know, understand and feel exactly the wishes, preferences, colors, styles, etc of the clients.

The thousands of kilometers distance between destination wedding planner and client make that challenge even bigger, sometimes resulting in not-so-perfect wedding.

A local professional wedding planner can solve that problem, ask the right questions, and act as a bridge between destination wedding planner and client.

That makes it even better is that you can still offer all local services to a client you otherwise never would have had, and receive a commission on the destination WP services.

How’s that for creating an additional revenue stream ?

Want to know more ? Have a look on the
Costa Blanca Events partner page :

2 ) Wedding planning and more

Why limit your business to ‘traditional wedding planning’, while there are so many more opportunities out there ?

Renewal of the vows, same sex weddings, divorce celebrations, second-chance symbolic ceremonies for couples whose ‘real’ wedding due to circumstances, money issues, etc was no success, christening parties, etc, etc

Be creative, and more important, be pro-active and post on relevant forums, blogs, etc

And yes, it’s perfectly possible to combine this extra revenue stream with the previous one, since these types of celebrations are very often celebrated abroad.

3 ) Event planning

I’m referring here to B2B or B2C event planning, especially for small or medium sized businesses who often do not have the HR resources to do it themselves, nor the financial resources to hire a ‘big’ event planner agency.

It takes some marketing efforts, especially because you’re fishing in a totally different pond, but it’s certainly worthwhile.

And even here you can offer destination event packages.

Wishing you a successful 2012

My Neice's Wedding

Posted By Radja Alvarez, Tuesday, November 15, 2011
I helped plan my 2 niece's, brother's and my best friend's weddings.  Not real clients, of course, but wonderful training and experience.  My involvment in planning these events made me realize my passion for it.  Shortly thereafter I enrolled in the LWPI progam.  Here is a sample of one of my neice's March 20, 2009 Spring Bling theme wedding.  The reception was held at the Doubletree Grand in Miami, Florida.  What an awesome day!  I can proudly say they have been married for nearly 3 years and have a beautiful baby boy that will be a year old on 12/12/11.
