CWEP Project 2

Posted By Sarah D. Steiger, Thursday, May 23, 2019
I just finished my project 2 and had a lot of fun! I really liked developing my packages and "selling" myself to a client. I think doing all these tasks and assignments will really help me get my website design set up.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By JoDee Krotz, Saturday, April 6, 2019

I’m JoDee Krotz and my husband and I live in both Texas (and Iowa). Texas is our transition state as we move toward creating a seasonal wedding and events venue in Montrose, Iowa, named: 1884 On The Bluff.

The project I’m presenting is a working draft of what will ultimately forward to a web professional and become our venue website. The photos were taken of the venue property and of models we hired for a stylized photo shoot, with a professional local photographer, at a party we had last October themed “Celebrate Before We Renovate.” As we’ve not yet renovated, we’ve a vast amount of mood boards to create. However, for this project, I will create a mood board from the images we have from the venue.

We hold a passion, high standards and have a knack for attention to detail as we work toward managing this large transition, renovation, and building a company from two different states. I’ve worked harder than I ever thought I would in the CWEP course and enjoyed every aspect of this certification process more than I thought I would as well. I know the knowledge gained will alleviate areas of stress and surprise as we move forward to create memorable weddings. One of our customer service goals will be to completely transparent and therefore trustworthy, avoiding any unnecessary stress and disappointments. We want to satisfy our customer’s vision of their big day to the fullest!

Vintage Romance in the Forest- Project 1

Posted By Jasmine Hollis (Hollis), Thursday, March 21, 2019

Hello,

My name is Jasmine Hollis-Tharp, and I am a future wedding and event planner in The Bay Area. Currently, enrolled in the CWEP course at the City College of San Francisco, I'm excited to be learning all that it entails to be a professional and successful event planner. Working previously in personal assisting for a total of 10 years, providing what my clients envision and paying attention to what's said will allow me to be great in providing this service. My specialty is partial planning...giving the couple a break and a chance to enjoy the fiance' stage in their relationship. And paying great attention to what's important to the couple, detail in every way is my niche.

By doing this project, I was pushed head-first into the planning world...and planned the grandest event one could plan. I was able to reach out to vendors, ask needed questions, see what was and was not important in planning a successful wedding and how to work with an endless budget. The sky was the limit, and I enjoyed the freedom and creativity in working with a couple. But most importantly...I was able to see what part of the business I was good at...and where I would go in the business.

Since taking this course, I have learned greatly all that's needed to provide an amazing event to my clients. How important it is to ask questions in detail, how to be clear in the expectations of everyone involved, as well as what it takes to have a strong business in planning events. I'm more that excited to take on this career change, and so appreciative of this course.

CWEP Project 1 Mood Board

Posted By Madeline Parker, Thursday, February 21, 2019
Hi, everyone! This assignment was so fun for me because I already use Pinterest all the time. It was a bit challenging though, since I usually pin things at random that "spark joy". I really enjoyed trying to put together a cohesive aesthetic for myself or a bride who might want this look. I like to keep things simple and elegant. I think this mood board showcases my style because of the rustic elements and southern feel. It could easily be used for a barn wedding or a cozy ceremony in the forest. I hope you like it!

CWEP Project 1

Updated: Thursday, January 10, 2019

Hello Everyone,

My name is Mette, I'm 40 years old, living in Denmark, Europe and am taking the Wedding Certificate online from here.

Denmark is getting more into organic lifestyle, we love recycling materials like wood and love spending time amongst the nature. In regards to this, I came up with the theme Trees and Harmony.

Olive trees are very beloved in the north of Scandinavia as it brings our thoughts to warmer places, cozyness (hygge) with good wine and good food.

Warm green colors and wood makes this collage a bit of a Greek Style weeding - a wedding in love with nature.

I hope you like it :-)

I did my project on a military inspired wedding. I incorporated the colors of the Marine Corp uniform into the wedding color scheme. I used red, white, and blue all throughout each each of the wedding from the flowers, cake, clothing, etc.

Hello, I'm Brittni O. Originally from southern California but currently residing in Washington state. I just completed 4 years of service in the United States Navy and now I'm trying to figure out what I want to do with my life :). I took this course to help learn the logistics and marketing skills behind the business.

This course has been a little difficult for me. Trying to figure out how to navigate the online course was not easy. The project I am submitting is Project #1. I've created a website using wix to showcase the wedding.

Blog Contribution 18.6 Assignment

Posted By Carmen Rosales, Monday, April 30, 2018

Hello everyone! My name is Carmen Rosales, I am from LA California. I have been working in the legal field for over 10 years and although I don't hate my job, I also don't love it.  I have always felt that I have so much creativity and I'm the first to jump in when it comes to planing any event or party.  I was so happy to find this course, and nowI am almost finished and hope to be a certified wedding and event planner, very shortly!

Through this course, I learned about the strong work ethic needed to be an event planner. I gained so much insight from the material and lectures provided by the instructors. The biggest takeaway for me was realizing what a huge network the wedding and event planning industry is, Im excited to jump in and start my own company.

My hope is to help couples realize the wedding/event of their dreams and to ease the stress of having to worry about throwing an epic party. My other passion in life is traveling (currently uploading from FIJI!!) So, I'd also like to explore joining my two passions and dabble into destination weddings.

Dream Team Productions is a firm believer in giving back to the communities in which it operates, and to this end supports a number of local charities, I'd like to help couples who are less fortunate as well as provide charity work , perhaps in helping plan events at local schools and/or church and community centers.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Carmen Rosales, Saturday, April 28, 2018

Hello All,

My name is Carmen Rosales. I was bored and raised in sunny Los Angeles, California. I am currently in the legal field. I have been working in a law firm for over 10 years and love it , but I do have a passion for planning and creating events.

I'm starting my event planning company alongside my twin sister, to honor our father, who loved all things business.  We strive to help couples and loved ones bring their wedding and event dreams to reality.   This course has been a breath of fires air and has seriously helped in learning that there re so many aspects to creating a magical event.

The project I have presented is a wedding of two loved ones.  I love anything monochromatic and glamorous. This mood board gave me the opportunity to re-create that vision on paper. This assignment has motivated me to create vision boards for my future clients to help them visualize and bring their dreams to reality.

Updated: Monday, February 26, 2018

Hello everyone!

My name is Alexandria, but my friends and family call me Allie. I am so excited to be able to finally get started on this course! I have wanted to be a wedding planner since I was a sophomore in High School and now it is as though the stars have aligned and everything is falling into place. I recently just got a job at an event planning company in New York (born and raised) and although it is corporate and non-profit event planning, it is giving me great insight into the event industry.

I cannot wait to learn more information throughout this course; If you have an Instagram account, follow my Wedding and Bridal Inspiration blog for more mood board inspo like this assignment required! I post daily content on there featuring vendors from around the globe! The account is @the_wedding_enthusiast !

For this project, I decided to create a mood board that incorporated fresh, organic and bright colors. I'd describe this mood board for a wedding as "garden chic". Best of luck to everyone throughout their courses! :)

CWEP Project 1

Updated: Tuesday, February 20, 2018

Hi my name is Cynnamon Roundtree. I grew up in Mesquite, Tx and moved to Garland, TX  my freshman year of high school, where I graduated from South Garland High school. Before I found my calling in Event planning I aspired to be a TV personality/broadcaster . My goals in the course is to create my own Event planning business and to find my greatest strengths in this business so that I can be successful in bringing my ideals to life.  I also strive to better my social skills because communication is the key.

My experience in this course so far has taught me allot about the business. I'm eager to take this knowledge and use it. This project has exercised my brain and the excitement I feel lets me know that this business is meant for me.

With this first project, I came up with an idea of an Elegant fairy-tale wedding because all girls wish to have that dream come true. I used some of my favorite vibrant colors and gave this wedding a magical touch.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Lauren Heinfeld (Turner), Tuesday, September 26, 2017
Updated: Tuesday, September 26, 2017

Hello everyone, my name is Lauren Heinfeld, and I am excited to gain wisdom and insight from this class.  I currently reside in Richland Hills, Texas, with my husband, Zack, and our cute Miniature Pinscher, Dulce.  I am an Event Planner for the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention working with camps, conferences, retreats, and meetings. Formerly, I was a Spanish Teacher in Waco and Edna.  With this course, I'm hoping to learn more of the wedding planning side to further my knowledge of different kinds of events.

Coming into this class with foreknowledge of event planning, I was excited for the challenge of a 10-week course that required me to step out of my comfort zone and time manage even more so than I already do for my job.  This project has been very intriguing and insightful to help grow my business, as I've researched and committed to learning a plethora of resources.  I'm hoping to use this project as an opportunity in the future to showcase my knowledge and competency.

The vision I'm presenting is one that encapsulates an elegant, outdoorsy, yet fun experience for anyone involved.  Rose and gold are the primary colors, and there will be unique elements added to represent the personalities of both the bride and the groom.  The decor and atmosphere of the wedding will be quite distinct and glitzy.

Project 1 Mood Board

Posted By Angela Rodriguez, Tuesday, July 4, 2017
Updated: Tuesday, July 4, 2017

Hello,

My name is Angela Rodriguez and I live in Albuquerque, NM.  I have a full time job where I work for a contractor for Sandia Labs as a Senior Project Administrator and process billing to the labs.  I also just celebrated my 2 year anniversary for my events business and am loving it.  It's a struggle to work full time and run a business but I get through it.  I have education in interior design, along with my bachelors degree in management, which I feel have both helped me in the event industry to "stage" a space/venue, and manage the various aspects of an event.

This course has given me more information and knowledge of things that I was unsure of or haven't come across, but needed and wanted the formal education to learn.  I actually just got engaged last weekend and cannot wait to use these ideals and lessons in my own planning.

I unfortunately took longer on this project due to losing my original PowerPoint file when my computer updated and deleted 3 weeks of my work.  I had to start all over and tried to use Wix.  I ended up loving my new project better than the first so although it took me longer, I am more satisfied with it.

My project is based on a couple is met in college and are both settled in their careers.  They wanted a spring wedding and a bohemian theme with a pastel palette.  This was a very fun project to be creative and do something different than the usual events I get hired for in my area.  I am attaching my mood board as instructed for your review.

Thank you!

Angela

Project 1 Blog Post

Posted By Shoreh Moridi, Sunday, June 18, 2017
Updated: Sunday, June 18, 2017

Hello everyone!

My name is Shoreh and I am originally from Iran and have lived in the U.S since 1979 and made Plano Texas home in 1991. I am a medical technologist and my speciality is in Microbiology, I am currently working full time as a Supervisor of Microbiology Lab in Dallas. In this role, I have learned to manage a team, work with others and delegate tasks. I would like to take these skills to the next level as a professional planner and design and manage a client's wedding or event.

Weddings are significant events in people's lives and couples expect a well-organized and memorable wedding. I have experience in helping Iranian brides with their "sofreh aghd" which is a traditional Iranian wedding spread. I have also been involved in arranging large parties and events such as Iranian New Years programming. I also have my Floral Design certification and love making floral arrangements for friends, family and events.

My project today shows a modern Iranian-American wedding that includes unique elements of Iranian traditions with a elegant touch of modern chic.

This project has helped me a lot in realizing how much hard work and effort is required in order to have an organized and enjoyable event.

Project #2- The Event Diva

Posted By Karr Stewart, Wednesday, May 3, 2017

Hello!

My name is Karr Stewart and I live in Irving, Texas. I will be starting my event planning business in June and is super excited about my new chapter in life! I'm married with a 13 year old son and a 20 year old daughter who's getting married in October. I have been doing events basically at every job I held and really enjoyed it. I mostly have conducted corporate events but in the last 3+ years picked up weddings and love it! I really enjoy helping people with happiness and going in the event planning business fit what I am trying to achieve. I really enjoy planning outdoor country, rustic, vintage, shabby type weddings. I think natural outdoor sceneries are soooo pretty, elegant and require less décor. I plan on opening my own event center something different like a barn, farmhouse or colonial style. Just want to crate a different space that people searching for a event center would be able to create their own space with in my space. I am looking forward to diving into this industry!

CWEP Project 1

Updated: Tuesday, March 21, 2017

My name is Ayesha Fardell, I am from New Jersey, but currently residing in Los Angeles. I was previously the Director of Operations for four San Francisco based restaurants, but have been planning weddings for the past two years. While I have acted as the Day of Planner and Partial Planner for several weddings, I would really like to begin planning weddings from start to finish.

My experience thus far with the course has been amazing, I am learning a lot of skills for organization, presentation, and execution. Project 1 has been challenging in the best way possible, it really pushed me to get into all of the details that go into planning a full event. This particular wedding was planned for the couple Jasmine and Alex, two Los Angeles based artists looking to create a beautiful, fun, joyful wedding with their loved ones. Their theme was Autumn Romance, with a European twist, and we made sure to ignite all five senses with elements of their theme.

This is my Project 1, I live in Panamá so I decided to give my couple different options in different spots, a beach spot, a mountain venue and more jungle style place. Distances in Panamá are short but still moving everybody for a Wedding can be hard and expensive so I based decisions in the Budget and the best logistics.

PROJECT 1 | Planning A Wedding

Posted By Mercedes SaintFleur, Friday, September 5, 2014

I especially enjoyed this project not only because it gave me practice at creating a complete layout for an event as elaborate as a wedding, but it gave me the opportunity to generate ideas and inspiration for an ACTUAL wedding I am working on. I used my best efforts to design this wedding around the couple I am working with, while fulfilling project requirements. This project is also a fabulous addition to my portfolio for future use! My complete project can be found by visiting the following site:
