Howdy, I'm Sabrina Lee - I am the owner of Lillie Jane Designs, Event Planning & Design in Houston, TX. I am a born & raised Texan (Houstonian, to be more specific), and I have been in the wedding planning business since 2015. I started as a Venue Event Coordinator at a local venue here, where I learned the ins-and-outs of planning weddings, corporate events, fundraisers, and school proms and banquets. I left the wedding industry temporarily to work at NASA where I was a Configuration & Data Mgr and known as the organization Event Planner. I started LJD last year, quit my NASA job this past May, and hope to surpass my previous income by this time next year. My goal is to build a clientele and eventually open a venue (or chain of venues) in the Houston area with my family.

So far, this CWEP has been a reminder of a lot of what I have already learned. However, the discussion videos and chapter specifics have allowed me to take some crucial notes in bettering my business. But I won't like, the assignments and projects are definitely taking me longer than I thought it'd take to complete this course! But I look forward to earning my certification and taking what I've learned from this course to better serve the clients of Houston.

For Project 1, I chose to plan an intimate signature vintage + firefighter wedding for an older couple (early 40s). I utilized my current vendor connections and discounts to keep this couple below their $30k budget. The attached mood board shows the vintage styles of lace and pearls, accents of burgundy floral, and the perfect backdrop of a historic firestation as the venue. Enjoy!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Sabrina Lee, Tuesday, June 4, 2019
Howdy - I'm Sabrina, owner and Wedding & Event Planner of Lillie Jane Designs (named after my late, great grandmother). I already had a business Pinterest account and recently took a short webinar on tips to increase viewers and sales from your Pinterest by downloading Canva, so this project came in serendipitous timing! I'm planning a styled shoot with a few local vendors next month, so this project gave me the perfect chance to develop the mood board for the shoot. I LOVE dried floral and all things vintage (I'm a true grandma at heart), so this board reflects the rich tones in dried flowers as well as the romantic simplicity of a vintage winter wedding. Hope you like it :)
