CWEP Projec 1 - Fall Inspiration

Posted By Alisha T. Stephen, Monday, September 9, 2019
Updated: Monday, September 9, 2019

I thought I'd make a fall inspired wedding mood board as my first project. Fall is around the corner & as the leaves change color, lots of inspiration arises. Fall is known for its red, yellow & orange toned leaves. This color scheme in my opinion is intriguing & beautiful. The bride will stand out in her gorgeous white dress. The groom can stem away from black tuxedos & get away with an nontraditional color like navy, burgundy or even a deep plum.

Hope you guys enjoy! Please provide me with all the feedback possible

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Yosibel Garcia, Tuesday, June 11, 2019

My name is Yosibel García, I am from the Dominican Republic.I am 20 years all and since I was 13, I´am working events with my mom who is an Interior and event designer . Created my love for events since then. It was last year were I understood that weddings are my passion among all the other events. I have always have a passion for wedding I have participated in two weddings as my mother´s assistant and I´ve loved the experience. This year, decided to study wdding planning. I am a business management college student and I´m almost done with my career. We have a company named Place It Right  and we do all types of event, but my plans are to create Place It Right Weddings. I will love to be a successful wedding planner. I am a very detailed and organized person , I like thing to be on their perfect and right place. I have plans of moving to Florida within two years from now. I will want to start my wedding company and lovegevity has  help me a lot. This project was amazing, I loved planning every single detailed of it. It is my first project working by my own creating a wedding from scrash. I have worked a lot in events but with my mother, but with this project I had the opportunity of creating every single detail of it. It was amazing for me.

For this project I chose a theme to work on a signature wedding. The theme is Musical Wedding were the bride and the groom are unique and have a passion for music and art. The color palette of this wedding is dusty blue, gold and white. The reception will that place at a restaurant called Mecenas Cultural Cafe. This place is also an art gallery, one of the wonders of this place is that is both indoors and outdoors. The wedding will take place in both settings. When guest get there, there will be a group of violinist receiving them at the entrance. There will be a beautiful guest book to sign and a champagne wall to receive them. The amusement will take place outside, there will be the dance floor, the DJ and the band. On the inside there will be all the table set. The good thing about this place is that both inside and outside communicate so it will be really easy for the guest to enjoy every part of the event.  As for the attire, the bride will be wearing a beautiful white mermaid dress and the groom will wear a navy blue tuxedo. The groomsmen will wear gray tuxedos, while the bridesmaids will be wearing different styles of dresses but made with the same dusty blue fabric. The bride wants all of them to feel good with what they are wearing and to show their personalities.  The decoration will be amazing, there will be long tables with gold metal chairs, the center pieces will be mixed, some will be a complement of a musical instrument and flowers and the other ones will be tall floral arrangements. There will be beautiful linens and the table setting will be detailed and delicate. There will be a buffet and to receive the guest after the ceremony there will be hors d´ouevres. There will also be a dessert table with a great selection of sweets. A perfect way to make the groom fell special was adding a crepes station as part of the wedding appetite. For the appreciation, they will give there guest a little wooden music box with one of their favorite songs "La Vie en Rose". This wedding will be perfect.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Kia True-Yasaki, Tuesday, March 5, 2019

Hey Everyone! My name is Kia (like the car) I'm from San Jose, California and I currently work full time as well as taking this class. At my job, we have to have these monthly events and I was always the one getting it set up and making all the arrangements and whatnot that it got to the point where I decided to just make a career change. I always wanted to see everything that goes into planning amazing weddings and events and now I finally get to follow my dreams!

This course is incredible. I'm loving it and I'm learning so much. I had no idea that so much went into just one little part of a wedding. This project had me stressing since it first got assigned to us because I wanted everything to be perfect! It's a lot harder than I thought it would be and it definitely requires a lot of patience. I personally think my child-like voice keeps some of the vendors from wanting to reach out to me because they think it'll just be a waste of their time. The amount of vendors I tried to contact compared to how many I actually got to speak to and work with is astounding, so that was a little stressful too as the deadline got closer. Other than that though, I had a lot of fun with this project and just getting to familiarize myself with this industry.

In my scenario, I'm planning a wedding for this super awesome total outdoors couple, Samantha and Jacob. They're the sweetest couple, and I absolutely love the theme: under the stars. it's different than what it originally was (Deep Sea) but it fits them so well. The ceremony is outside to make their "I do" moment special as well as being in a place they truly love: the outdoors! Including themselves, there's 100 guests total. It's going to be at the Half Moon Bay Golf Links at the end of June this year!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Sierra Ostergaard, Sunday, December 9, 2018

Hey there! My name is Sierra Ostergaard and I'm currently residing in Fort Polk, Louisiana where my husband is stationed in the Army. As an army wife, I've had many careers such as a Elementary School teacher and a CNA(Certified Nurse Assistant) but this allows me to follow another one of my dream jobs because why pick just one? haha! I hope to be able to give others a chance at a wedding of their dreams without the stress of putting one all together!

This project has certainly opened my eyes to how much actually goes into planning a wedding. Every little detail matters and it has been so much fun trying to plan and coordinate schedules and planning for this wedding.

My clients met while in college and want their big day to be in their favorite season: Winter! With a unique blend of colors arranging from red, gold, silver, and a supply of greenery, there will be a winter themed wedding. Every aspect of the wedding will be winter themed all the way from winter invitations with fresh spruce figs to scented Firestarter pine cones as appreciative favors. By the end of the wedding, you will see why the couple loves winter and it may just become your new favorite season as well!

CWEP PROJECT 1

Posted By Janice Alphonso, Wednesday, July 25, 2018

My name is Janice Alphonso and I was born in Georgetown Guyana. I moved to the United States when I was five years old.  I presently  work as a Guidance Counselor and I love to work on beautiful events. My goal is to open a fabulous hall that is beautifully decorated in neutral palettes and can be transformed into any event that my clients envisions.  Thus far, this course has helped me to become more focused on my goal of becoming a fulltime event planner and designer.

The mood board is for a couple who met four years ago and are deeply in love, Candace is the director of a community organization and Ryan is an Engineer.  Candace is a true romantic whose favorite colors are pink and gold.  They both love food and Champagne and would like their guests to enjoy the evening through the five senses. Ryan said, “make Candace’s dreams come true”.

Hi, I am Shital "Sheela" Shah. I am a CPA and am bored of doing Accounting. I have always loved event planning and now I want to try planning weddings. I am still not sure how to get this going. I attended a wedding in India in November. It was so much fun. I have pinned some decoration ideas for Indian Weddings, using mostly fresh flowers, added some beautiful traditional center pieces. There is a colorful sofa for bride and groom to sit, all traditionally decorated with ethnic decors using bright colors.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Whitney Johnson, Sunday, September 24, 2017

Greetings fellow planners!! My name is Whitney, i am 29 years old living right outside of Charlottesville, VA. I currently am an OR Scheduling Coordinator by day and a volunteer firefighter by night, However, since a teenager i have been involved in event planning and am looking forward to a prosperous business of my own.

The event that I am planning for my client is a  fun 60th birthday party! More often than not a vision board is brought together with color pallets and style. With this client more so than color it was the theme that brought the inspiration together! My client chose a dance /theater theme because she was a dancer as child. The Chosen location was also inspired by her theme and childhood. She has fond memories of The Count Basie Theater in New Jersey. A well-known attraction from her memory so she chose to bring it home for this beautiful milestone!

Recognizing that color is very important when designing an event, my client wanted a way to include her two daughters into her special day. She chose to do so by using both of their favorite colors along with her own for decor! The three major colors for this inspiration board were blue purple and yellow.

For this event we set the anticipation by sending out an invitation that is both eye catching, color coordinated and fun to give guests an idea of both what to wear as well as what atmosphere can be expect upon arrival.  A tasty bright yellow eye catching Champagne pass will greet guests upon their arrival. As her guests enter the room, the ambiance will be set through the use of dim lighting table, decor and inviting music.  It was important to my client to have guests seated in an arrangement that would have all eyes on stage as you would in a theater setting. Guest appetite will be tickled with an aromatic Caribbean themed dinner! The client will enter with a surprise dance performance. Dressed in a long elegant, flowing dress, dazzled with a jeweled hair piece and a fun twist bright twist on her shoes, ballet slippers. Soon after dinner guests will quickly be amused when they find themselves involved in the night's events! It is my client's desire to have her guest join her in a dance performance following her solo! At the end of the evening to show appreciation for guest attendance, as they depart they will be presented with to-go deserts to savor over the ride home as they discuss cherished moments from the evening.

Updated: Tuesday, March 21, 2017

My name is Ayesha Fardell, I am from New Jersey, but currently residing in Los Angeles. I was previously the Director of Operations for four San Francisco based restaurants, but have been planning weddings for the past two years. While I have acted as the Day of Planner and Partial Planner for several weddings, I would really like to begin planning weddings from start to finish.

My experience thus far with the course has been amazing, I am learning a lot of skills for organization, presentation, and execution. Project 1 has been challenging in the best way possible, it really pushed me to get into all of the details that go into planning a full event. This particular wedding was planned for the couple Jasmine and Alex, two Los Angeles based artists looking to create a beautiful, fun, joyful wedding with their loved ones. Their theme was Autumn Romance, with a European twist, and we made sure to ignite all five senses with elements of their theme.

Project 1

Posted By Alyssa Murphy, Thursday, January 5, 2017

This is my first project. I really enjoyed the aspect of choosing a theme for the wedding, including color coordination and choosing decoration elements that go with "elegance" and "a magical evening." Choosing wedding activities was my biggest challenge, because sometimes I mainly wanted to focus on the look of the wedding and not so much the entertainment. There were several challenges to this project as it was my first wedding I have planned, but I have learned a lot along the way. Now I have a better idea of how many elements go into planning an entire wedding.

Project 1

Posted By Hope E. Aslinger, Friday, February 12, 2016

For project one I chose to plan a rustic style wedding. Rustic style weddings are very popular in my area in Kentucky, so I wanted to try my hand at planning my own from top to bottom! Rustic/Southern style weddings always turn out gorgeous, and I hope I have a chance at planning my own for a couple in the future!

Project 1

Posted By Brittany Senglin, Friday, November 13, 2015
I really enjoyed this project! It was kind of like a behind the scenes hands on aspect of what all it takes to put on a wedding/ event. I like how it laid out everything and how I had to find and come up with every detail myself. Event planning is my passion, so I love how I got to go further into it with this project. I wish I was more organized with the time I put in it though, but I felt I learnt a lot that I will take with me.

Project 2: Simply Elegant Events

Posted By Corinna Johns, Friday, November 13, 2015

I really enjoyed analyzing my dream of Simply Elegant Events. I always knew I wanted to start my own business, but the passion is even stronger now. It took a lot of work, but it is totally rewarding. I had my thoughts on paper, but now they are organized, explained, and professional. I can't wait to start this business!
