Project two

Posted By Janice Alphonso, Sunday, August 12, 2018

Good evening!,

My name is Janice Alphonso and I am studying to become a certified wedding planner.  The second project is designed to sell the services that my business offers to potential brides through words and description.  I had to really think what I want my business to represent and accomplish after I meet with a potential client. I described the company and outlined the  packages, "Day of Contract", pricing, cancelation policy, as well as possible worksheets a bride can use along her magical journey to wedded bliss.

Thank you

Blog Contribution 18.6 Assignment

Posted By Carmen Rosales, Monday, April 30, 2018

Hello everyone! My name is Carmen Rosales, I am from LA California. I have been working in the legal field for over 10 years and although I don't hate my job, I also don't love it.  I have always felt that I have so much creativity and I'm the first to jump in when it comes to planing any event or party.  I was so happy to find this course, and nowI am almost finished and hope to be a certified wedding and event planner, very shortly!

Through this course, I learned about the strong work ethic needed to be an event planner. I gained so much insight from the material and lectures provided by the instructors. The biggest takeaway for me was realizing what a huge network the wedding and event planning industry is, Im excited to jump in and start my own company.

My hope is to help couples realize the wedding/event of their dreams and to ease the stress of having to worry about throwing an epic party. My other passion in life is traveling (currently uploading from FIJI!!) So, I'd also like to explore joining my two passions and dabble into destination weddings.

Dream Team Productions is a firm believer in giving back to the communities in which it operates, and to this end supports a number of local charities, I'd like to help couples who are less fortunate as well as provide charity work , perhaps in helping plan events at local schools and/or church and community centers.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Carmen Rosales, Saturday, April 28, 2018

Hello All,

My name is Carmen Rosales. I was bored and raised in sunny Los Angeles, California. I am currently in the legal field. I have been working in a law firm for over 10 years and love it , but I do have a passion for planning and creating events.

I'm starting my event planning company alongside my twin sister, to honor our father, who loved all things business.  We strive to help couples and loved ones bring their wedding and event dreams to reality.   This course has been a breath of fires air and has seriously helped in learning that there re so many aspects to creating a magical event.

The project I have presented is a wedding of two loved ones.  I love anything monochromatic and glamorous. This mood board gave me the opportunity to re-create that vision on paper. This assignment has motivated me to create vision boards for my future clients to help them visualize and bring their dreams to reality.

CWEP - Project 2 Submission

Posted By Ghislaine van de Laarschot, Sunday, April 22, 2018

My name is Ghislaine, I am 25 years old and I am located in Boston, MA.

This assignment made me think long and hard about how I want to present myself to a client and how to not undervalue myself. Overall, I think I did a pretty good job in pricing with a little help from the online discussion about How to sell my services at value. As women we tend to undervalue ourselves when it comes to pricing/getting paid so this was a really great exercise. It was also good to organize everything into a cohesive document thats easy to read.

Project 1

Updated: Sunday, March 25, 2018

My name is Lauren Eshelman, and I live in Los Angeles California. I graduated college in May with a Bachelor’s in Fashion Merchandising and a minor in Marketing. After discovering that I didn’t enjoy the fashion industry, I decided to give wedding and event planning a try. So far I am enjoying the CWEP course. I find my instructor is very experienced and talented, and I’m excited to continue this course and learn more from her.

For my Project 1, I am planning a fall wedding taking place in September of 2020. The overall vibe of the wedding is classic, elegant, and fun. Decorations are heavily influenced by nature and include lots of florals. The color scheme is merlot, blush, cream, and beige. Personal details pertaining to the couple that will be included in the wedding are their love for their dogs, the outdoors, and wine!

Project 1.3

Posted By Samantha Ferrigno, Saturday, February 10, 2018

Project 1.3

Couple: My couple is newly engaged, newly together. They met online. He is the Navy and she is a part time worker at Disneyland. He was born in California but moved to Texas as a young kid, so he considers himself a Texan by heart, and country boy. She was born and raised in Southern California, she went to school in Chicago for hospitality management but finished at home online. They met after he got stationed out here and she went looking for some new friends. They hit it off right away. They connected on her love for the country and his experience.

Style: country mixed with Disney

Colors: eggplant, lavender, sky blue, carnation pink

A8 Formula:

Bridal Attire/Accessories: Sweetheart neckline, lace, mermaid style dress, silver pearls, elbow length veil, cowboy boots, pearl earrings/necklace, vintage headpiece, navy blue cameo garters, natural make up, garden bouquet, realistic curls. Groom Attire/Accessories: Navy Dress Whites, Change into dress shirt jeans and boots, small boutonniere. Bridal Party Attire/Accessories: The girls are picking their own dresses, MOH-is in eggplant, BMs-lavender, flowers are white tulips, the boys will be in white dress shirts and jeans, FG- will be in pink, RB-same as groomsmen, the couples dogs will be walking down the aisle as well. Parents Attire/Accessories: MOB will be in sky blue, the FOB will be in eggplant, Grooms family it is up to them.

Anticipation: The couple’s invites were sent out early for long distance, simple invites through vistaprint, the venue is a vacation home in the San Diego Mountains

Arrival: The couple will already be at the venue so no transportation or guest valet, there will be two signs to direct their guests, seating will be around the tables already, it’s a small processional since the bridal party is small, the arch is a garden arch with some tapestry.

Atmosphere: the venue is out in the woods, with nature surrounding the whole event, it is a simple together wedding, and lighting will be off the house and candles on the tables

Appetite: Tulsa Rib Company will be catering the vent. The bar will be a full bar that the couple likes to drink. Cake is done by nothing bundt cakes with a spread of cookies and donuts.

Amusement: Music will be played off the groom’s phone from a play list they both creates, first dance, father daughter dance.

Appreciation: The bridal party will have their own hangers as their gifts, every guest gets cookies and donuts.

Short Essay:

The couple choose this theme because of the bride’s love for Disney and their love for the country rustic feel they both love. They wanted it to be simple and easy to set up themselves. Nothing to grand that it would over whelmed their families and take away from the venue. This event will be one of the many weddings their families will be enjoying.

This wedding is for the families of the bride and groom and for themselves. The families are from all over the world. Part of the bride’s family is from Denmark, but most of the family is California. Her sister is the maid of honor while the groom’s family is part of the bridal party. His family is mainly in Texas but still many all over. Some in South Carolina, Nevada, Florida, and Arizona.

The wedding will be taking place in the San Diego Mountains in the afternoon in June. The perfect lighting for the weddings but it is going to be warm for everyone. There will have to be plenty of water for everyone.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Abigail Vasquez Bruton (Vasquez), Monday, December 25, 2017
Updated: Monday, December 25, 2017

My name is Abigail Vasquez Bruton and I own my own planning company called: Signature Events by Abby.  This work found me. I was given the tasks to plan and organize events at the corporate level for more than 9 years when I worked as an Executive Administrative Assistant for a VP of Online Banking, and as an Associate Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Student Services. I was the main coordinator for the annual awards ceremony at a local college. This is where I realized how much I love this work. It's like the feeling you get when "love finds you."  I love the entire process and seeing your work come to fruition on the day of event. I live in Florida where we plan beautiful destination weddings and corporate events. I feel very fortunate to be an important part of a love story or a success story.  A story expressed through details that we as planners get to coordinate and bring to life with our teams.  My goal is to hire 2 wedding coordinators to work with me. I would also like to have 1 wedding coordinator working out of a New York office, and 1 wedding coordinator working with me in Florida. I would like to hire 3 part-time assistants to help me update and monitor social media accounts, marketing and administrative assistance.  I enjoyed learning about different traditions and cultures and the intricate details that go into each aspect of the process, timelines and planning of events.  I liked how we were given ideas about themes, flowers and aspects that affect the different seasons of the year.  I love the checklist and email and phone inquiry examples used as guidelines.  I loved having access to various topics in the form of webinars.  I enjoyed learning from other students and becoming a part of the Lovegevity Planning Squad.

In Project #1 My client Gaddy wanted a Bohemian rustic theme.  Her fiance Joe prefers rustic details.  He describes Gaddy as "Miss Fancy Pants."  They are polar opposites in most things. Gaddy and Joe met at a restaurant.  They were both with friends that day.  They were having a drink as they waited for their table to be ready. Joe was standing next to Gaddy and he was captured by the sound of her laughter.  He was so mesmerized by her laughter, that he turned around and started talking to her.  They had the best conversation and since that day, they have been inseparable.  One year and 8 months after they met, they are now engaged to be married in November 2018.

Gaddy and Joe want a day filled with family, fun and good entertainment.  Gaddy likes top 40's and a variety of sounds: violin, guitar and jazz. Joe prefers Jazz and pop music.  They decided on a string quartet for their ceremony, a jazz band for the cocktail and wedding reception.

Gaddy loves white orchids, and lace.  She describes herself as "understated elegance."   Joe says that he wants "simple comfort in his attire, and food."

Wedding day vision: beautiful backdrop of South Beach for ceremony and cocktail reception.  Reception will be on grassy area next to beach.  Buffet of delicious varieties, rustic theme decor, and an amazing Jazz band playing during cocktail and wedding reception.  The night will end with Gaddy and Joe dancing to "Happy" by Pharrell.  It will be a wedding day that will be filled with fun, family, delicious food, and amazing entertainment.  A Bohemian rustic style Signature Wedding for Gaddy and Joe.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Lauren Heinfeld (Turner), Tuesday, October 10, 2017

I have been working in the event planning industry for over 8 years.  I started as an intern for a small church, planning their camp and summer activities for 50 students to now working as a full-time event planner, planning multiple events a year ranging from 10 people to 1,600 - all while managing interns and groups of volunteers up to 50.  I have worked with multiple vendors and venues, and I have been given the nickname “Organizational Ninja” because it suits me well.

This project made me step outside the box and really evaluate my talents and what I can do as a professional.  Pricing what I believe I'm worth was different because I've always let others define my worth with working in a hiring environment.  My mood board is a reflection of what I am focusing on - engaged couples excited about their future marriage and wedding.

I'm presenting what I believe are my strengths laced with a pressure to push myself beyond my talents as of now to be the best that I can be for the clients for which I'd be working.

Project 1 Mood Board

Posted By Angela Rodriguez, Tuesday, July 4, 2017
Updated: Tuesday, July 4, 2017

Hello,

My name is Angela Rodriguez and I live in Albuquerque, NM.  I have a full time job where I work for a contractor for Sandia Labs as a Senior Project Administrator and process billing to the labs.  I also just celebrated my 2 year anniversary for my events business and am loving it.  It's a struggle to work full time and run a business but I get through it.  I have education in interior design, along with my bachelors degree in management, which I feel have both helped me in the event industry to "stage" a space/venue, and manage the various aspects of an event.

This course has given me more information and knowledge of things that I was unsure of or haven't come across, but needed and wanted the formal education to learn.  I actually just got engaged last weekend and cannot wait to use these ideals and lessons in my own planning.

I unfortunately took longer on this project due to losing my original PowerPoint file when my computer updated and deleted 3 weeks of my work.  I had to start all over and tried to use Wix.  I ended up loving my new project better than the first so although it took me longer, I am more satisfied with it.

My project is based on a couple is met in college and are both settled in their careers.  They wanted a spring wedding and a bohemian theme with a pastel palette.  This was a very fun project to be creative and do something different than the usual events I get hired for in my area.  I am attaching my mood board as instructed for your review.

Thank you!

Angela

Project 2: Selling Your Services

Posted By Ayesha Fardell, Friday, April 21, 2017

Hi! My name is Ayesha Fardell and I own a Los Angeles based wedding planning business called Elle Qui Vit. We cater to millennials seeking an easy, accessible, unique planning experience that speaks to them as a couple. My experience with this course so far has been very positive. While I have planned a handful of weddings, I feel that LWPI I has given me the tools and techniques I needed to really grow as a business and serve my clients to the best of my abilities. Project 2 has prepared me for taking my business to the next level, I now have contracts, bridal party checklists, bridal questionnaires and more in place to present myself in the most professional way possible. I feel so much more organized and clear on the steps I need to take to have a successful wedding and events planning business.

My Project 2 presentation is a package of information that I can offer my clients upon initial contact so they have the tools they need to see why Elle Qui Vit is the best fit for them. My color palate is white, black, grey and shades of rose, and my font is Merriweather for titles, and Arial for the text body. The images I used are a mixture of my own and vintage shots, as I feel my business incorporates both the new and old. I hope you enjoy!

CWEP Project 1

Updated: Tuesday, March 21, 2017

My name is Ayesha Fardell, I am from New Jersey, but currently residing in Los Angeles. I was previously the Director of Operations for four San Francisco based restaurants, but have been planning weddings for the past two years. While I have acted as the Day of Planner and Partial Planner for several weddings, I would really like to begin planning weddings from start to finish.

My experience thus far with the course has been amazing, I am learning a lot of skills for organization, presentation, and execution. Project 1 has been challenging in the best way possible, it really pushed me to get into all of the details that go into planning a full event. This particular wedding was planned for the couple Jasmine and Alex, two Los Angeles based artists looking to create a beautiful, fun, joyful wedding with their loved ones. Their theme was Autumn Romance, with a European twist, and we made sure to ignite all five senses with elements of their theme.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Sierra Singleton, Wednesday, March 1, 2017

My project couple wanted an outdoor fall wedding. The mood is laid back comfort with a touch of elegance with the attire of the bride and groom. The food choices were items that you would take for a camping trip or an outdoor excursion. Overall, I really loved doing this first project. I wanted to really capture the personality of the couple wanting to be out of the box but also traditional with the décor and menu.

Project 1

Posted By Lauren Grzymala, Friday, February 10, 2017

Hi everyone!

Well, it took some time, but I FINALLY finished project 1! It was a big task, but I can honestly say I enjoyed every second of making it come together. After going through the full project, I have a better appreciation for the career I will be stepping into, hopefully in not too long. I really put a lot of time and thought behind this project because I really want to put everything into perspective for myself, but also challenge myself to be more creative and unique in what I plan. I appreciate any feedback y'all have to offer!

Thank you!

My Experience

Posted By Bretanna Johnson, Friday, January 27, 2017

At first I didn't know how to explain my experience with LWPI, but after the last few days I've had  at my current job I know now that following my dream was the best thing for me to do. Even through the tuff moments and  the days of switching form one computer to the next I truly did enjoy it. I liked knowing that I can now utilize my gifts in to the one thing I love. All things Wedding!! Doing this taught me a lot of the behind the scenes work that happens, along with the need-to-know and social media which I didn't  know played such a big part. In just 4 month I was able to achieve my goal. So thank you LWPI.

Project #3: Grand Opening

Posted By Keitra L. Brooks (Murphy), Wednesday, April 13, 2016

What a project!!!!  I have thoroughly enjoyed this course!!! Please check out my project!  I'd love to get feedback!!!!!  Much love and Good Luck to each and every one of you in your future endeavors!

Manifested Visions Events & Design, LLC will host a grand opening on Saturday, August 13, 2016.  The event will be held at the brand new Manifested Visions Event Center in North Little Rock, AR.  The event will black, white and gold color scheme.  The event will begin promptly at  starts at 1:00 pm and go on until 4:00pm. The guests will enter the venue on a red carpet fully equipped with photographers (paparazzi) who will capture each moment and also mingle through the guests on the inside.  The guests will then be greeted me and my staff and asked to complete a client profile card that will enter them into the drawing of door prizes. There will also be two buffets set up in the foyer presented by Kona D’s Catering, LLC of Dallas, TX.  They will have sampling plates of some of her favorite dishes and desserts.

Guests will then be able to walk through each of the eight rooms that will be decorated in different themes to show the many possibilities of our space.  Each room will also have local vendors set up to discuss with potential clients how their visions can be made real at Manifested Visions.  Each vendor has been asked to offer some type of prize and/or giveaway for the drawing. Manifested Visions will offer free day of coordination, deposit waiver, 20% of venue rental and we will give away one free full service wedding planning package as the ultimate prize.  This will be a fun and interactive experience for staff and guests.  I am so excited to be able to offer this venue to our city.    Our guests will leave with a small tub of popcorn, a thank you bag with gold Hersheys kisses on the inside and information on our business offerings and services.

Opening an event venue has been a long-time dream of mine and it will finally come true!  This is something that the Central Arkansas area truly needs.  Our motto is “Let us help make your visions reality!” and that is exactly what we aim to do with each client.  We choose to only work with the best of the best but are not afraid to check out up and coming vendors to give them the opportunity to prove they are just that.

As a business, Manifested Visions will always offer time and money to worthy causes.  We will partner with North Little Rock High School to offer internships to students who are participating in the Charter Conversion program.  We will also sponsor charitable organizations by making contributions to those organizations that share the same mission we have.

Project 3: Planning Your Grand Opening

Posted By Coreen Thompson, Tuesday, January 26, 2016

I really enjoyed this project, and put a lot of effort into planning out all the aspects of it.  Since I am not yet ready to start my own business, all of this was hypothetical.  I am grateful for the opportunity to plan a potential grand opening in preparation for a real one in the future.  Through my grand opening, I hope to give off a feeling of being laid back and caring, but also professional.  I want all of my guests to see my passion and love for planning events, and feel like they can definitely put their faith in me to give them the event of their dreams.

(My powerpoint file was too large to upload, so I uploaded to google drive and made a public link.  Please let me know if this works. Thanks!)

Project 2

Posted By Coreen Thompson, Tuesday, December 22, 2015

I found that this project was very helpful to my education and business goals.  It was nice to put all the information from the required assignments in one organized document. It was also a great exercise to really make me think about why I am doing this and what vision I have for my career.  Although this project called for a lot of thought and organization of pages and pages information, I enjoyed putting it together and it has made me even more excited to complete this course and get started in this industry.

Project 1

Posted By Claudia C. Gonzalez (Carrillo Gonzalez), Monday, December 21, 2015

When I started doing this project I thought of my parents. They married very young and did not have enough money to make a big wedding, for this reason I wanted to make a perfect wedding for the celebration of their 25th anniversary. My mother wanted to have the wedding that never was. For this I am inspired by nature, they love to go camping and walk on the beach or the mountains, this is reflected in every detail of the wedding, even in the choice of venue.

The carrying out the project was very emotional for everyone, I hope you like it.

I enjoyed working on Project 3 more than I did Project 1 or Project 2. Maybe it is because I am getting used to event planning, and maybe it was because I just knew more this time around. Either way, I actually liked completing this project. I have learned quite a bit, and I am starting to look forward to actual event coordination and, potentially, design.
