CWEP Project #1 - Mood Board

Posted By Marian Malasig, Friday, March 1, 2019
Updated: Friday, March 1, 2019

Greetings from San Francisco! My name is Marian Malasig. I just finished my 2nd week of this course and I'm feeling so much joy getting into a profession that excites me! With this mood board, I went with a muted tone of Ivory, Mint with a touch of Wine colors. I have always imagined a wedding right when summer ends and fall begins- not just to mark the transition of seasons but a transition of two beautiful people joining together.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Kareman Mohamed, Saturday, February 23, 2019

Hello everyone! my name is Kareman, I'm from Egypt and I'm a flight attendant. I had a lot of fun preparing this project as it was my first time to use Canva website and I learned a lot of things. I'm so excited to start this course as it was my dream to become a wedding planner, also as a flight attendant I have a lot of friends from different nationalities and I got the chance to attend different style of weddings and it inspired me a lot and it added to my knowledge. So here I am at Lovegevity making my dream comes true and so ready to have a lot of fun.

for this project I went with an outdoor wedding. The bride and groom chose a forest as it'll be far away from the city, traffic and noise; with beautiful trails and lots of trees. They wanted it to be simple but still elegant and classy with a vintage style. I hope you like it.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Casey M. LeBlanc, Monday, February 18, 2019

For my project, the couple is having a Spring wedding in Santa Fe, NM. The colors are shades of coral with gold accents. Guests are greeted with signage going into the ceremony, and waiter passed hors d'oeuvres going into the reception. The reception is on the lawn overlooking the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Individual sized bottles of champagne serve as favors.

This project was so much fun to dream up! I was so excited to see Pantone's color of the year is Living Coral this year. I love the neutral and muted tone color palettes, but I am SO looking forward to seeing COLOR being added back into wedding trends.

Project 1

Posted By Jennifer Nunez, Friday, November 23, 2018

Hi my name is Jennifer Nunez. I live in New York. My goal as a professional planner is to gain as much experience as I can. I want to be able to open up my own business with a family member or a partner. I want be able to do wedding events, parties; all kinds of event. In order to do that I need to gain knowledge and experience. That's why I'm here taking this class. Hopefully this could help me open up a part time business and in the future be my full time job.

Project 1 was very exciting to do because i felt like i was actually creating someone's wedding. I was a little bit challenging when it comes to budget, good vendors and being organized on your timeline.

My mood board was created for Will and Jennifer's Wedding. They asked for a rusty vintage wedding outside. Wedding is mostly about the little details like the lights, trees and flowers surrounding the area.

Hello my name is LaShaye and I am from Little Rock, Arkansas. I am currently a customer service representative for an insurance company however my passion is event planning. I currently help friends and family members plan baby showers, birthday parties and an assortment of other events. My goal to eventually plan more larger scale events and to be known as a creative genius! This is currently my first course in professional event planning however I am loving it. I had the pleasure to plan this fall themed wedding for Jamie and Brian. I have enjoyed creating a wedding for my clients because they are not very traditional. My clients don’t want a wedding cake, they love pop and rock music and the words  fun and outgoing are used to describe the couple. This couple decided to go with the color scheme of blush pink and navy blue. The bride and bridesmaids will all be adorned in "flowy" sheath dresses while the men will wear navy suits with pink accessories There will be plenty of food and tons of activities for the guests to participate in.

My Lovegevity Experience Superseded My Expectations!

Posted By Diane Rogers, Tuesday, September 25, 2018
Updated: Tuesday, September 25, 2018

Hello Fellow Planners!

This course has been nothing short of a true blessing!  It has been one of the most thought provoking contributors to not only what and how I want to see my business, but it has challenged me to really seek out and search for my God- Given Ministry or Purpose (if you will) and just how the two are linked. When deciding to take this course, I never once imagined or even thought that it would cause me seek out my true purpose on earth and now here I Am!  This course from beginning to end has been more relevant to what I will actually need and be expected to know as an Events Planner Business Owner than my 4 year Bachelors of Business Admin Degree ever did.  I just only wish that I had discovered my niche back then and saved myself about 50k. Nevertheless, This has taken me step by step to making sure all my business affairs are in order so that I run not only a successful business but also a LEGAL business.  For Instance, I would have never thought that business insurance would have been affordable for me, but with the requirements of this course, it caused me to search to see that it as not nearly as bad as I had expected. I love the fact that this course has helped me to think outside the box and to consider my options for philanthropy, how to connect the dots with my business and how I can lend access to my followers and supporters to contribute right from my very own web page. I think I could go on and on about this course, so I better spare you as the reader!

All and All, I absolutely loved this course and every challenge it brought my way! (including the most daunting assignment 6.1). I'm so thankful for this one because it has definitely given me a jumpstart on connecting with some top notch Vendors. This course will be highly recommended for my future mentees.

Thank You,

Cho Phillips & Lovegevity University!

CWEP Project 1

Updated: Monday, August 20, 2018

My name is Keeley and I am from New Jersey. I started going to college to become a preschool teacher but changed my mind and started to pursue event planning. Although my college offered event planning classes when I found I could take wedding planning courses online through my college I decided to give it a shot. Lovegevity is just what I hoped it would be and more. I have learned so much just from the first chapter, I am excited to continue my wedding planning education.

The couple I choose are named Lucas and Hannah their wedding theme is sunflowers and country rustic. There wedding is April 20th 2019. Hannah wanted to incorporate her favorite flower into her whole wedding. The meaning of a sunflower is the loyalty and strong bonds between two people, as represented by the strong and upright stem. Using the sunflower was a beautiful decoration throughout the wedding and reception. The wedding colors are yellow and navy blue. The bride Hannah will wear a boho lace wedding dress. She will hold a bouquet of sunflowers, white roses and daisies. Her bridesmaids are going to wear matching navy blue dresses and carry a bouquet of sunflowers. The groom Lucas will wear a white dress shirt, navy blue dress pants, navy blue vest and a navy blue tie. He will also have on a boutonniere matching Hannah's bouquet. His groomsmen will wear white dress shirt, navy blue dress pants, navy blue suspenders and a navy blue bow tie. The couple will also have a flower girl and ring bearer. The flower girl will wear a lace yellow long tutu dress. The ring bearer will match the groomsmen with a white dress shirt, navy blue dress pants, navy blue suspenders and a navy blue bow tie.

The ceremony will be in the chapel at Park Chateau Estate & Gardens. The reception will in the reception hall at the Park Chateau Estate & Gardens. The reception will feature a dance floor with a DJ and a photo booth. A sunflower will be on every chair and every table will have a beautiful centerpiece. The center piece will include white roses, daisies, and a big single sunflower in the center of the bouquet. The center piece will also include a table number written in a piece of wood. On the bride and grooms table there will be upside down wine glasses with small candles on each one, underneath them will be a single sunflower. The cake is three tiers with buttercream frosting. The cake also has big sunflowers on it. Instead of giving out goodie bags at the end of their wedding, Hannah and Lucas will be donating money to the Make a Wish Foundation as both volunteer at their local children's hospital.

Updated: Tuesday, August 7, 2018

My name is Jannelle Gooding-Gibbs and I am 27 years old. I am a proud mother of an entertaining, cunning 7 year old boy and a newly married gal. I grew up in a very cultural-driven West Indian household and spent my youth back and forth to a little tropical island called Grenada. My journey started when I got engaged in December of 2016, in the same tropical island of Grenada. I was, well still am, working a full time job as an office manager at a Ford dealership, when I was struck with the crazy idea to plan my whole wedding on my own. So for 15 months, I have worked tirelessly to plan, create and draw out this very peculiar perfect special event. I saw my vision and plans literally come to fruition on Monday, May 28th 2018. This was the beginning, the birth, when the light bulb went off to Jae Renee’ Event & Design.

Knowledge is power and I believe educating yourself on your passion is always a plus. In this field being hands-on and having the freedom to create our vision with guidelines, keeps us in check. I want to help execute the vision from the tiniest detail to the big picture. There’s nothing like seeing every single thought you’ve ever envisioned, come to life. That’s my mission!

Raj & Kesha met, 6 years ago on a flight to visit family, for the holidays, back in their home country Trinidad & Tobago. They’ve been inseparable ever since! Two years after their first meeting Raj popped the question. Kesha decided to spend the rest of her life with him at a celebrated with beautiful ceremony with close family and friends. Now they’re expecting a little bun and they couldn’t be more excited. They decided when celebrating their baby, they wanted to keep their Indian/Hindu roots alive and respect their parents in the process. Using bright bold traditional colors like gold, magenta, purples and reds are what we focused on.

CWEP PROJECT 1

Posted By Cindy Valerio, Wednesday, August 1, 2018
Updated: Wednesday, August 1, 2018

Hello Everyone!

My name is Cindy Valerio and I am from Southern California. It has always been my dream to create and design events professionally. I also enjoy getting to help other people bring their dream events come to life because it challenges me to push my ability to be more creative.

I decided to take this course because every time I organized events for my family and close friends, they would say I should do this professionally because I'm good at it. Of course I don’t really pay attention to what they are saying because they are my family, but it made sense now and I realize that we only live once. Only once! So we have to make most out of it or else regret it after life. Now here I am looking forward to learning a lot more.

My first example client wants an elegant high fashion, enchanted fairy tale forest themed. My bride to be will be wearing Elie Saab fall 2017 couture collection together with her bridesmaids with different couture styles. My groom to be will be wearing Versace fall 2014 couture collection together with his groomsmen but different fashion styles. Wedding cake will be from confectionary collection of Vera Wang x Laduree. And bride will arrived in a horse-drawn Cinderella carriage.

Thanks for your time looking at my work.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Sierra Ostergaard, Thursday, June 28, 2018

My name is Sierra Ostergaard and I currently live in Louisiana where my husband is stationed but was born and raised in Utah! I have many different career fields such as the medical and education fields and am excited to add arts & design into my dream career fields! Being an army wife allows me quite a bit of time to try new things and new career fields and wedding and event planning has always been one of my dream careers so here it goes!

For this mood board, I have created a summer country wedding. I kept it simple and elegant and added a splash of sunflower yellow to brighten up the celebrations! This theme includes a generous amount of lace, sunflowers, burlap and of course that lovely, romantic barn that thanks guests with a small jar of sweet honey on the way out!

Posted By Carmen Rosales, Saturday, April 28, 2018

Hello All,

My name is Carmen Rosales. I was bored and raised in sunny Los Angeles, California. I am currently in the legal field. I have been working in a law firm for over 10 years and love it , but I do have a passion for planning and creating events.

I'm starting my event planning company alongside my twin sister, to honor our father, who loved all things business.  We strive to help couples and loved ones bring their wedding and event dreams to reality.   This course has been a breath of fires air and has seriously helped in learning that there re so many aspects to creating a magical event.

The project I have presented is a wedding of two loved ones.  I love anything monochromatic and glamorous. This mood board gave me the opportunity to re-create that vision on paper. This assignment has motivated me to create vision boards for my future clients to help them visualize and bring their dreams to reality.

18.3_Blog contribution

Posted By Marie Orta, Friday, April 27, 2018

My name is Marie and I am 28. I am originally from France but currently live in Norfolk, Virginia with my husband Orlando, who serves in the US Navy. I chose to become a wedding and event planner because even if it was not my first choice of career it has always been in the back of my mind and I have always had a taste for planning, organizing, weddings, creating, and interior design so it was obvious for me that all those skills used together would make me a good event planner.

After moving to the US in 2015 to be with my husband, I had to decide what to do for a living and event planning made perfect sense to me. Also, as a military wife, I know I could use my career anywhere in the world the military would possibly move our family. I soon will finally be a certified event and wedding planner and will be able to use my skills and help couples create their dream wedding.

CWEP - Project 2 Submission

Posted By Ghislaine van de Laarschot, Sunday, April 22, 2018

My name is Ghislaine, I am 25 years old and I am located in Boston, MA.

This assignment made me think long and hard about how I want to present myself to a client and how to not undervalue myself. Overall, I think I did a pretty good job in pricing with a little help from the online discussion about How to sell my services at value. As women we tend to undervalue ourselves when it comes to pricing/getting paid so this was a really great exercise. It was also good to organize everything into a cohesive document thats easy to read.

Tracy & Que's Wedding A Renaissance Affair - CWEP Project 1

Posted By Monet Keaton, Sunday, February 25, 2018
Updated: Sunday, February 25, 2018

Hello All, My Name is Monet Keaton.   I am from the surrounding suburbs of Chicago.  I have a Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems and I currently work is a Sr. QA Analyst.  I really love to plan events at home, work, and for family.  I am taking this course because I will be starting a Event Planning business in the near future.

I really enjoyed completing this project because I have never planned a wedding before.  I have done several Birthday events, baby showers, and work events but never a wedding.  This was the best experience ever!  I really enjoyed getting down to the details of how a wedding event is planned.

For Project 1, I focused on a couple who will be getting married next year.  They are high school sweethearts who fell in love and lost touch with each other after high school.  Through the means of social media they were able to rekindle that love, and are ready to tie the knot!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Abigail Vasquez Bruton (Vasquez), Monday, December 25, 2017
Updated: Monday, December 25, 2017

My name is Abigail Vasquez Bruton and I own my own planning company called: Signature Events by Abby.  This work found me. I was given the tasks to plan and organize events at the corporate level for more than 9 years when I worked as an Executive Administrative Assistant for a VP of Online Banking, and as an Associate Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Student Services. I was the main coordinator for the annual awards ceremony at a local college. This is where I realized how much I love this work. It's like the feeling you get when "love finds you."  I love the entire process and seeing your work come to fruition on the day of event. I live in Florida where we plan beautiful destination weddings and corporate events. I feel very fortunate to be an important part of a love story or a success story.  A story expressed through details that we as planners get to coordinate and bring to life with our teams.  My goal is to hire 2 wedding coordinators to work with me. I would also like to have 1 wedding coordinator working out of a New York office, and 1 wedding coordinator working with me in Florida. I would like to hire 3 part-time assistants to help me update and monitor social media accounts, marketing and administrative assistance.  I enjoyed learning about different traditions and cultures and the intricate details that go into each aspect of the process, timelines and planning of events.  I liked how we were given ideas about themes, flowers and aspects that affect the different seasons of the year.  I love the checklist and email and phone inquiry examples used as guidelines.  I loved having access to various topics in the form of webinars.  I enjoyed learning from other students and becoming a part of the Lovegevity Planning Squad.

In Project #1 My client Gaddy wanted a Bohemian rustic theme.  Her fiance Joe prefers rustic details.  He describes Gaddy as "Miss Fancy Pants."  They are polar opposites in most things. Gaddy and Joe met at a restaurant.  They were both with friends that day.  They were having a drink as they waited for their table to be ready. Joe was standing next to Gaddy and he was captured by the sound of her laughter.  He was so mesmerized by her laughter, that he turned around and started talking to her.  They had the best conversation and since that day, they have been inseparable.  One year and 8 months after they met, they are now engaged to be married in November 2018.

Gaddy and Joe want a day filled with family, fun and good entertainment.  Gaddy likes top 40's and a variety of sounds: violin, guitar and jazz. Joe prefers Jazz and pop music.  They decided on a string quartet for their ceremony, a jazz band for the cocktail and wedding reception.

Gaddy loves white orchids, and lace.  She describes herself as "understated elegance."   Joe says that he wants "simple comfort in his attire, and food."

Wedding day vision: beautiful backdrop of South Beach for ceremony and cocktail reception.  Reception will be on grassy area next to beach.  Buffet of delicious varieties, rustic theme decor, and an amazing Jazz band playing during cocktail and wedding reception.  The night will end with Gaddy and Joe dancing to "Happy" by Pharrell.  It will be a wedding day that will be filled with fun, family, delicious food, and amazing entertainment.  A Bohemian rustic style Signature Wedding for Gaddy and Joe.

CWEP Project 3

Updated: Monday, October 9, 2017

Happy Fall to you all!

I just completed project 3. Wow! So much happening in this project, where do I begin?? My concept for my grand opening is "celebration of sustainability". I incorporated local vendors, food educators, and a guest speaker that knows how to pull off eco-friendly weddings. This project had me learning more about my community and how I can give back as a business. It taught me how much work goes into a community event like this one. The A6 formula helped me stay organized throughout this process. Check out my mood board and website at https://kshana17.wixsite.com/kryshanamevents.

Happy Planning!

Project 2: Selling Your Services

Posted By Cheric Vigeant, Saturday, August 19, 2017
Hi my name is Cheric Vigeant. I had a lot of fun doing Project 2. I've learned a lot while creating this project and have created a style I feel for my brand. It was a lot of work and hours but in the end glad I did it and learned that it's always a good idea to save everything to reference back to. I am very happy that I learned how to "sell my services" to prospective clients. It makes me happy knowing that my job is to create someones vision to life. Being able to use my creativeness is what started my passion for planning.

CWEP Project 1 B'z Buzzin Events

Updated: Thursday, June 1, 2017

Hello All! My name is Rasheda Figgs, most of my friends and family call me "B". That is where I got the name of by company. I am from Oakland, CA and yes I am a Warriors fan, if anyone is a sports fan. I have an associates degree in Liberal studies: social and behavioral sciences.

I have truly enjoyed working on project 1, I must say I had some challenges in the beginning with the mood board and canva, I work full time and im also a full tie student working on my bachelor's degree. I thought I may have bitten off more than I can chew with this course. (fingers are still crossed). However this course proved to me, that this business is what I would like to make my career.

My project is based on a city couple from the LA area, It will be a Summer/Fall wedding. I wanted to create a formal event using a typically rustic theme, and incorporating my love for honeybees. Most of the pictures I found of bee themed weddings were out doors, and had a more casual rustic theme, so i had to think out side of the box. It is an evening wedding Ceremony starting around 5PM.

My Experience as a Lovegevity Student

Posted By Lauren Grzymala, Wednesday, April 12, 2017

I can remember being a senior in high school, not really having any clue what I wanted to do with my career. I selected a local college, majoring in Criminal Justice and minoring in Spanish. I woke up for my classes every day, never really feeling motivated or interested in the material I was learning. After a year and a half in a major I hated, I decided I should take a break from college to focus on my work experience, and to figure out my passions. It didn't take long for me to figure out how much I loved working with people, and through planning my own wedding, the events leading up to it, and other parties for family and friends, I discovered my true passion was in wedding and event planning. I researched schools and programs endlessly, wanting to ensure I chose the perfect one to give me an edge in the industry.

I was reading a blog about the topic when I came across the link for The Wedding Planning Institute by Lovegevity. After yet more research, and with the guiding and supportive hand of my husband, I enrolled in the courses with Lovegevity, and I can honestly say I could not have made a better decision with where to further my education. Lovegevity gave me so much more than just the knowledge of the industry. I wasn't just majoring in Wedding and Event Planning; I also majored in Social Media Marketing, Business, and even got a glance into Legal processes. This program has already given me an edge unlike any other, at a time where there is an amazing market opportunity for my business.

If you would have told me three years ago that I would be getting my certification in Wedding and Event Planning and starting my own business, I would have walked away in disbelief. Now, I have the strength, confidence, and knowledge to take me further than I ever would have dreamed, in a field I could not be more passionate or in love with. Thank you, Lovegevity, for helping me find my way when I had no direction, and for giving me the knowledge and skills to build my dream career!
