CWEP Project 1

Posted By Diane Roepke, Tuesday, June 30, 2020
Hi! I'm Diane Roepke from Temple, Texas.  I currently work for a school district but we own a venue also.  I have planned a few family weddings at our venue and I want to learn more about the processes and gain as much knowledge as I can to offer our venue and services to the public. Our venue is outdoors and appeals to the rustic type of wedding or event.  I am very organized, love schedules and love to work with people.  I have already learned a lot from this training and am excited to continue learning to be the best event planner I can be!  The resources that are available and software that ease the planning process is invaluable information.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Andrea A. Gutierrez, Tuesday, June 30, 2020

My name is Andrea Gutierrez from Los Angeles, California. I used to work in hospitality and now I want to become my own boss. My goal as an event planner is to be as knowledgeable as I can be in the industry and to make all my future clients happy. My experience with project one took a long time because I am a perfectionist and I want to make sure I am doing everything correctly. I was able to find different vendors via Pinterest and the knot.com. By completing this project, I have realized how much research and time goes into planning a wedding, especially if a couple hires you with different and conflicting ideas. For this project, the couple wants a summer wedding  at a California Winery consisting of no more than 200 guests. .The color palette consists of baby blue, white, gold, and ivory with a touch of green. The couple is family oriented, therefore the have included nieces, nephews, and their dog in their weeding. The bride will carry a white rose hand-tied bouquet with a pendant of her late family members hanging from it. The reception is based in a winery so wine will be served for cocktail hour and the guests will leave with a bottle of wine as an appreciating gift.

Posted By Adedoyin Awode Awode, Friday, June 19, 2020

My name is Ade. I am originally from Lagos city, Nigeria, residing in Brooklyn, NY. The CWEP course has been knowledgeable. I am impressed with the training and word of encouragement I received from my Instructor Miss. Abeki Carter. I am looking forward to putting everything into practice very soon. I learnt how to use Pinterest and canva, and it have been very pleasant.

I am helping my friend to plan her 21st Wedding Anniversary party, which will be in July of 2021. I choose her wedding anniversary for my project 1. It will be an intimately “a home and abroad” summer etiquette and elegant wedding anniversary with a beautiful atmosphere, and jovial feel. The ceremony décor will consist of lilac, gold and white ceramic glassware, tableware colors.

They we have a beautiful centerpieces accented with lilac gold roses, a DJ and live band musicians. The ceremony will be captured by both a photographer and videographer. This event will be centered and consist of 4-course meals. They will have wedding anniversary cake, candy, chocolate with strawberries station, dancing, and straying money.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Alyssa Kurtz, Monday, April 20, 2020

Hello,

My name is Alyssa Kurtz of Miss Lyss Planning from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I've always loved events since I started in catering at the age of 14. Ever since, I've been working towards opening my own wedding planning and consulting business which I finally started in February of 2019. While I've had great success and have loved the business, I'm ready to continue growing and formally educating myself about event theory and other logistics within the industry.

So far, my experience with CWEP has been addicting as I am excited to continually learn and grow from the program.

For the first project, I've created a mood board and inspiration for Lola and Tomas, who met while Lola was studying abroad in Lisbon, Portugal. Drawing inspiration from where the two met as well as Tomas's culture, their wedding will be an explosion of bright blues and yellows with a lot of texture from the famous tiles found in Lisbon and across the Mediterranean. Fresh citrus will also play a role as Tomas's family own lemon orchards in the countryside. These small elements add up to quite the experience, one that American state-side guests will certainly devour and appreciate for its uniqueness.

BLOG YOUR MOOD BOARD

Updated: Monday, March 9, 2020

My name is Dawn Velez and I am born and raise Bronx, New Yorker.

Before my current job as a Director for Campus Events in a small, private, Catholic College in the Bronx, NY, I worked in a Corporate establishment and I was a Sales Executive Administrative Assistant and Event Planner.

I believe after I receive my Certificate as a Wedding and Event Planner, I will have an better understanding of the industry, the policies, guide lines and terminology which will make me a better planner professionally and personally. Having the experience will allow me to have the confidence to expand in the future in the industry.

So far, I am learning new things on what is expected for the three types of wedding planner which I didn't realize there were different categories; planner who is from the very beginning to the end, the designer, who is the creature and the coordinator, who’s the person on site the day of. I'm finding I'm more interested in the designer to coordinator of interest.

Enclosed/Attached is my Blog Mood board Submission. It's base on a wedding in a Castle venue with Rose - Gold color schematic for a royal flair for a Prince and Princess.

Hi! My name is Alisha Stephen, I’m 22 (almost 23) years old & I was born & raised in Lawrenceville, GA. I stay at home with my mom & older brothers. Before doing Lovegevity I was hoping from job to job mainly in retail. I was wanting to branch out but no one was accepting my application.  I thought long & hard about being a wedding planner & one day I asked my mom for help & I took the leap! I plan on becoming a very successful wedding planner that lives worry free about finances, time & stress.

In my project, I’ve been given a very sweet couple who is young & vibrant! They want an emerald green wedding with gold accents & touches of pale pink. The gold creates an amazing pop of color while the pink brings the two bold colors back down to earth & mellows things out.

CWEP Project 1.3 - Mood Board

Posted By Mary E. Tindle (Green), Saturday, January 18, 2020
Updated: Tuesday, February 4, 2020

Hi everyone, my name is Mary Tindle and I live in Katy, Texas, a part of the greater Houston area. For the last 20 years I have enjoyed a career in the oil and gas industry in which I started right out of college as a low-level drafter and worked my way up to Design Supervisor running the drafting group. I was able to accomplish this due to my leadership skills and ability to adapt to ever changing requirements and time schedules while maintaining deadlines and satisfying the client. However, the oil and gas industry is unpredictable with more and more jobs going overseas, so now is a great time to change careers to something that I am very passionate about, wedding and event planning. My ultimate goal is to have my own wedding and event planning business, with a flair for unique, themed, and eccentric events. Being in the Houston area and close to cities like San Antonio and Austin, there are lots of possibilities for large events that I would love to plan.

While I have no professional experience in event planning, I have planned several parties and events such as my own vow renewal ceremony that was extremely well received. I have planned baby showers and parties for friends and family. I put together a Halloween extravaganza a few years back, which included a haunted house that I designed and built. Our house was voted #1 decorated house in our subdivision and years later, people still ask if we are doing it again and have even offered to help with set up. I love to use my creativity to plan, organize, coordinate, and decorate any event and party possible from conception through execution. I can accomplish this by using my extensive design and leadership skills that I've developed over the years.

I chose to attend the Certified Master Wedding and Events course through Texas A&M. I am loving every minute of it so far. To see my visions take on a definition of their own is such a delight for me. I have a huge imagination with an enormous amount of creativity that has been aching to get out. For me, the sky is the limit. I can catalyze anyone’s vision and make their dream event come true. Once I get started, there is no stopping me.

For project 1, My couple is Hannah Davis and Alex Baker and this is their story:

Hannah and Alex met through a mutual friend at work. In their spare time, they immerse themselves in a world full of fantasy and adventure. Their quirky personalities and lighthearted approach to life are a perfect match. As avid adventurers, they are often inspired by Steampunk designs rooted in the 19th century culture where fantasy meets futuristic fashion, style and art characterized by the industrial revolution. They have requested a “Vintage Victorian Steampunk” inspired wedding experience. They're wedding is planned for June 14th, 2021 which is recognized as International Steampunk Day.

The couple both love vibrant shades of berry and lavender complimented with green and gold. Beautiful bouquets and tablescapes filled with floral combinations of burgundy calla lilies, dark red roses, hypericum berries and natural foliage accented with golden gadgets and gears paired with the natural glow of soft vintage lighting make for a very dreamy atmosphere.

Project 1: Plan a wedding

Posted By Lia Diogo, Monday, November 18, 2019

Hi everyone!

I'm Lia Diogo and I live in Westchester County in New York.

Although this is project nr 1, this is my final project to submit to the  board.
I have planned a wedding on December 24th, 2019 for my couple, Alexandra and Brandon. They love Christmas and winter so they really wanted a Christmas Eve wedding.
We faced some challenges along the way because December 24th is not  just any day, but eventually all the vendors and venues we wanted were willing to help us and accommodate us on this special day.

I loved doing the CWEP course and the projects. It was a lot of work but I really enjoyed doing it, and I feel I have learned so much. I even feel that I may actually start my own business even though this was not my intention when I started the course.

Lia

CWEP Projec 1 - Fall Inspiration

Posted By Alisha T. Stephen, Monday, September 9, 2019
Updated: Monday, September 9, 2019

I thought I'd make a fall inspired wedding mood board as my first project. Fall is around the corner & as the leaves change color, lots of inspiration arises. Fall is known for its red, yellow & orange toned leaves. This color scheme in my opinion is intriguing & beautiful. The bride will stand out in her gorgeous white dress. The groom can stem away from black tuxedos & get away with an nontraditional color like navy, burgundy or even a deep plum.

Hope you guys enjoy! Please provide me with all the feedback possible

Project 1

Posted By Marianne Dzikas, Wednesday, June 5, 2019

My name is Marianne Dzikas, I am currently an assistant manager at a pizzeria in the Bronx. I am looking very much to hopefully starting my own event planning business, this course has truly opened my eyes to new ideas beyond what I thought I could make of myself. My goal is to help create experiences for people. Even though I am an introvert, I do love working with all kinds of people and take great pride in simply making their day better even simply by saying a few kind words. Having worked in a Pizzeria for almost ten years, I have learned to handle many difficult situations and empathize with challenging customers. I never take anything personally, you really never know what another person is going through.

My project's theme was "something blue". I may have threw in too many shades, but the concept I concocted was to reveal the calmness of the color and renowned wedding quote and tradition. I tried to incorporate the "couples" old family traditions with the simple childhood game of corn hole along with a projector that played over later on in the reception of old pictures throughout their lifetime.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Kia True-Yasaki, Tuesday, March 5, 2019

Hey Everyone! My name is Kia (like the car) I'm from San Jose, California and I currently work full time as well as taking this class. At my job, we have to have these monthly events and I was always the one getting it set up and making all the arrangements and whatnot that it got to the point where I decided to just make a career change. I always wanted to see everything that goes into planning amazing weddings and events and now I finally get to follow my dreams!

This course is incredible. I'm loving it and I'm learning so much. I had no idea that so much went into just one little part of a wedding. This project had me stressing since it first got assigned to us because I wanted everything to be perfect! It's a lot harder than I thought it would be and it definitely requires a lot of patience. I personally think my child-like voice keeps some of the vendors from wanting to reach out to me because they think it'll just be a waste of their time. The amount of vendors I tried to contact compared to how many I actually got to speak to and work with is astounding, so that was a little stressful too as the deadline got closer. Other than that though, I had a lot of fun with this project and just getting to familiarize myself with this industry.

In my scenario, I'm planning a wedding for this super awesome total outdoors couple, Samantha and Jacob. They're the sweetest couple, and I absolutely love the theme: under the stars. it's different than what it originally was (Deep Sea) but it fits them so well. The ceremony is outside to make their "I do" moment special as well as being in a place they truly love: the outdoors! Including themselves, there's 100 guests total. It's going to be at the Half Moon Bay Golf Links at the end of June this year!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By JoDee Krotz, Thursday, February 14, 2019
Updated: Sunday, April 14, 2019
https://www.facebook.com/ChandlersGardens/videos/285821015368337/

My name is Jo Dee Krotz of Fort Worth, TX. I'm thrilled to be taking the CWEP course as my husband and I have procured a property in SE Iowa we'll be restoring to create a wedding venue. I believe the information and skill set provided throughout this course will fuel me with confidence to continue forward with our venue, 1884 On the Bluff.

For Project 1 I chose to create a Woodland Romance. I created a romantic love story for Jody and Billie; and they are getting married with the trees as their focal point, surrounded by a poetic, and romantic outdoor theme! The wix site link with the 8 A's & lots more is: https://jdakrotz.wixsite.com/brecheendream

The first time Jody noticed Billie he was working as a life-guard in Wichita Falls Country Club swimming pool. Billie was alongside a few girlfriends; but Jody said: "SHE really stood out. She was wearing an unforgettable red one-piece swimsuit which caught my eye. I was smitten from that day on. She’s so funny, artistic, and kind. I knew I would marry her someday." Not only did our tanned and fit, lifeguard who, as Billie adds, “sported natural waves of sun-kissed blonde curls” also garner Billie's notice; she said after they met... "He was just so smart and funny there wasn't anything else in the world I wanted more than to spend my life with Jody."

On April 11, 2017, after almost four years of long-distance dating between The University of Texas, where Jody was in college, and Midwestern State University, where Billie was attending college, she said “Yes!” during a hillside picnic serenade where Jody strummed his guitar and her heartstrings to John Denver's "Annie's Song." Earlier that day, Billie packed a picnic basket full of her famous homemade fried chicken, homemade bread & butter, and chocolate chip cookies, all Jody's favorites. She was to meet Jody at their favorite picnic spot midway their long-distance drive. As Billie arrived, she noticed Jody's sweet Golden Retriever, Louie, waiting under the couple's tree, where they had met on such occasions many times before. Louie was atop a set blanket, his neck wrapped in a wreath of spring wildflowers, and next to a large sign that read: “Will you marry us?” Jody stepped out from behind the tree, got down on one knee and proposed. Of course, Billie said “Yes!” Louie provided the ring atop his nose and Jody sang his heart out for the love of his life.

Billie and Jody spent the following year planning their life, livelihood, and wedding. They will tie-the-knot May 14, 2019, which is a collectively sentimental date for our couple. Many purposeful details were themed to fashion a genuine eagerness for all who would attend their wedding including: "Save The Date" cards with a tree design reflective of their engagement spot and invitations depicting the rings of a tree. The tree is the primary binding theme which will play out throughout the engagement, wedding, and reception.

For their big day, our couple prepared a magical evening under the stars at Chandler's Gardens in Celina, TX. The duo will wed in “The Secret Garden” under a tree. The space will be filled with lilting romantic, acoustic guitar serenades. Following the ceremony there will be a cocktail hour with lots of filling bit-sized eats, a reception guaranteed to make guests smile, a delightful dinner, a romantic bon fire, photo booth, and invitations to show-off dance moves with Next Level Entertainment at the theatrical helm. There will be lots of little aesthetic surprises throughout this enchanting beginning. And, Louie will also be fully participating in the festivities, affording comedic, sweet release to accompany the substantial significance of the day’s beautiful events.

As for their lives together, Jody will be teaching 6th grade Celina Elementary School students Science as well as Physical Education. Jody has already amassed multiple original songs with his guitar to help his students motivate and memorize while learning. Billie will be teaching art classes at the same school. This creative and soulful couple will rent a little house on the outskirts of town, with lots of room and good shade for Louie. They will move in together following their honeymoon to St. Lucia island. It is easy to deduce their life together will be colorful, music filled, and full of love.

CWEP Project #1

Posted By Stephanie Villatoro, Monday, January 21, 2019

Hey! My name is Stephanie, I am from the Northern Virginia area. I have had a passion for event planning starting in 2014 when I took a wedding planning course at GMU as an elective. But by then it was too late for me to change my major so I continued with my business degree knowing that it will help me in the future. I have interened and worked with various planners in the area in hopes to one day have my own event planning business, alongside my sister. That is why I have decided to take these steps and pursue my certification.

The project one assignment really made you dive into all the elements and details of planning a wedding right away. It made me look into local vendors and see what they offer and compare them to similar vendors. All knowledge that will be very useful in the end when recommending vendors to clients.

My inspiration for project 1 came from a couple that I helped with 2 years ago. It was the first really big wedding that I was able to help plan from start to finish and to this day it is one of my favorites so far.

My mood board shows you a quick glance at what they wanted for their wedding day.

Project 1 - Rustic Romance Wedding

Posted By Ashley Bald, Friday, December 14, 2018

Hello Everyone!

My name is Ashley Bald and I was born and raised in Philadelphia but have now lived in Rhode Island for about two years. I moved here to attend the Rhode Island School of Design as a graphic design major, and plan on offering my design services alongside my planning services. I have been playing music as a drummer and creating art for many years now, but also have always had a passion for the planning of weddings and events. My goals are to start up my own planning business in early 2019 and work throughout the year to make it successful. I want to use my associate's in graphic design degree and this certificate to make a better life for my and my 6 year old son.

I have no prior experience in planning but I do have plenty of design experience that helped me not only have an eye for color and design of a wedding, but also of the website I created. I'm presenting in this blog post project one, and the theme I created for this wedding is Rustic Romance. I'm excited to see what everyone else has come up with as well!

Enjoy!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Sierra Ostergaard, Sunday, December 9, 2018

Hey there! My name is Sierra Ostergaard and I'm currently residing in Fort Polk, Louisiana where my husband is stationed in the Army. As an army wife, I've had many careers such as a Elementary School teacher and a CNA(Certified Nurse Assistant) but this allows me to follow another one of my dream jobs because why pick just one? haha! I hope to be able to give others a chance at a wedding of their dreams without the stress of putting one all together!

This project has certainly opened my eyes to how much actually goes into planning a wedding. Every little detail matters and it has been so much fun trying to plan and coordinate schedules and planning for this wedding.

My clients met while in college and want their big day to be in their favorite season: Winter! With a unique blend of colors arranging from red, gold, silver, and a supply of greenery, there will be a winter themed wedding. Every aspect of the wedding will be winter themed all the way from winter invitations with fresh spruce figs to scented Firestarter pine cones as appreciative favors. By the end of the wedding, you will see why the couple loves winter and it may just become your new favorite season as well!

Project 1

Updated: Sunday, November 18, 2018

Hello!  My name is Angela, and I am DONE with Project 1.  I am from Cape Cod Massachusetts, and I love this program.  I have been a special education teacher for eight years, but I wanted to do something more creative with my life.  I am a very organized person, so I know that this will be a perfect second career for me.

My goals/plans as a professional in event planning is to work as an event planner at one of the many beautiful resorts on Cape Cod.  Cape Cod weddings are extremely popular, so I know that I will be very busy when I have completed this course.

My experience in this course has been wonderful so far.  I have been extremely supported by the program, and I am learning so many things in the event industry.  It is definitely more work than I originally thought, but I am up for the challenge.  The course is well-paced, informative, and interesting.  This project was very time-consuming, and it was very challenging.  I am very happy with how my project turned out, and I learned so much about what is needed for a successful wedding.

The project I am presenting is a beautiful bohemian-themed wedding that is rustic, elegant, ad simple.  The wedding is more about the little details like the flowers, favors, and music which allows the wedding to be rustic-chic while embracing nature.

Thank you for reading my blog!!!

Hello my name is LaShaye and I am from Little Rock, Arkansas. I am currently a customer service representative for an insurance company however my passion is event planning. I currently help friends and family members plan baby showers, birthday parties and an assortment of other events. My goal to eventually plan more larger scale events and to be known as a creative genius! This is currently my first course in professional event planning however I am loving it. I had the pleasure to plan this fall themed wedding for Jamie and Brian. I have enjoyed creating a wedding for my clients because they are not very traditional. My clients don’t want a wedding cake, they love pop and rock music and the words  fun and outgoing are used to describe the couple. This couple decided to go with the color scheme of blush pink and navy blue. The bride and bridesmaids will all be adorned in "flowy" sheath dresses while the men will wear navy suits with pink accessories There will be plenty of food and tons of activities for the guests to participate in.

Hello everyone! My name is Maggie Garrison, I'm a recent Christopher Newport University graduate from Richmond, VA. Although I am new to the wedding and event industry, I'm not unfamiliar with being a part of large scale productions. I was a theatre major in college focused in design and technology, namely hair and makeup design, scene design, and scenic painting. I have wanted to work in the industry ever since the end of my junior year of college and am so excited to be beginning my journey by becoming a CWEP. I want to focus my career on becoming an event designer, decorator, and consult, and utilize my experience in scene design to create unique and tailored customizations for each and every client.

This course has not only helped to familiarize myself with the basis of knowledge essential for planners. It has also helped to steer myself towards paths I do and don't want to pursue. I loved getting to create the overall look and flow for my project, and have a far greater appreciation for the work that goes into the planning of an event.

My client has a love for vintage and all things classic. Her style is deeply sentimental and she has a love for timeless pieces with modern styling. For their special day, I wanted to highlight the design aspects she loves most while keeping the energy of the day light and upbeat. The palate consists of blue, white, grey, and a pop of VCU gold; centered around antique ginger jars, brass, unique silverware, and abundant florals.

CWEP- Project 1

Hello! My name is Kelly Ducote & I live in Greenback, TN. I worked in banking for over 12 years and during that time planned many community events for the bank(s) I worked for. Within that time frame I found my calling & always wanted to pursue my dream job in becoming an event planner. I currently am an event coordinator for the company I work for. I plan anything from weddings, graduation parties, corporate events to baby showers & memorial services. My plan is to finish this course and start my own company.

My experience in the class has been very informational. Though some things I already knew, I am finding/learning new things every day! I enjoy hearing real life experiences from local event coordinators & vendors. Learning the finer details through this curriculum has helped me even in my current job with helping brides plan their weddings. I also learned the importance of having great relationships with vendors so that for future events we can work seamlessly together and create a wonderful experience for our client.

My inspiration for the wedding I planned for this project was an actual client of mine at my work who will be getting married this December. They are a very fun and loving couple who plan to have a huge wedding of 400 guest. So this has been the biggest wedding I have planned thus far. Though their wedding is in December the bride's favorite colors are gold and plush pink. Their vision is that their wedding will be very elegant with touches of gold & pink but still make it very warm and inviting for their guests. There will be lots of greenery and beautiful centerpieces with shimmering gold touches.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Sanja M. Ilunga, Monday, October 22, 2018

I enjoyed working on the Project 1, it was so much fun!

I created the collage for one really romantic wedding, full of flowers, romantic notes, lightnings and love. The main color for this wedding would be blush and main focus would be on flowers, flowers on the bride, flowers on the table, on transportation,.. Flowers everywhere. :)
