CWEP Project 1

Posted By Erika Gonzalez, Thursday, July 13, 2017

Hello everyone,

My name is Erika Gonzalez and I am currently in Miami, Florida. I have lived here all my life and I have loved it, despite how hot it may get! I am a 4th grade teacher yearning to explore other options. I love teaching, but I am craving something more. Which is why I decided to explore this amazing opportunity.

Attached you can find my Mood Board I created on Canva for a modern summer wedding. The warm colors, elegant decorations, and lighting of the day give this special wedding that extra touch and I believe any bride/groom who are leaning towards a modern summer wedding may approve of this board.

I have also attached my Power Point presentation to present Stephanie and Jesse's modern wedding. Please note that you will be able to read my comments/notes in the notes section of the powerpoint.

My name is Anastasiia and I recently opened my company SIIA EVENTS. We specialize in kid's and social events. I have worked in the industry for almost a year.

I am presenting birthday adult party in Alice in Wonderland Theme. It is an adult birthday Party for 20 guests. The location is in the yard of the client. The client expressed interest in the unique and styled event for her 30's birthday. We use entertainers such as magicians for the close-up magic and stage shows during the break. The staff wears styled tuxedos in theme with the party. Guests are offered to rent costumes or buy their own in the same style in their invitation, sent by mail. It is a sit-down dinner with the gourmet food.

My name is Sofia and my grand opening of Sofia's Event Consulting is in Los Angeles, California.  I enjoyed planning another event for this project but in the real world, I am not looking to begin my own business. I like the experience this project presented however, I do not intend to use it in real life application. Project 3 explains my frilly and girly grand opening. My pintrest mood board tells that tale!

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Monique Silva-Robles, Tuesday, July 11, 2017
Project 2 was a little challenging for me but I better understand the role of a wedding/event planner.  I had fun researching for vendors it gave me more inspiration and helped me add additional creative ideas to my library of decorating a themed event.  My project is an introduction and informative approach to my idea of what services I want to provide and to whom.

Project 1: Plan a Social Event or Wedding

Posted By Marianne Mijares, Sunday, July 9, 2017
Updated: Monday, July 10, 2017

I am an event planner for a living but have never done a wedding, so this was a challenge.  I loved putting Project 1 together and felt that all the required assignments really helped prepare my final project.  I contacted three venues in order to get a realistic picture of what the rental and catering fees were.  It felt as if I were planning a real wedding.  I choose to plan a wedding for my co-worker who recently got engaged.  Her and her boyfriend met online via a dating application.  He's from the mid-west and they both have a love for the outdoors and animals.  I used this information as the base for planning this wedding and tying together the theme, color, attire and the other A8 elements.  This aided in providing a timeline for the planning process up until the day of the wedding, which is scheduled to take place in the Spring of 2018.   I chose a Rustic Chic theme for this wedding and gave several options for a barn and outdoor venues that would tie into this theme.  Below you will find my Pinterest links for each of the A8.

Project 1

Posted By Brenda R. Almeida (Ramos), Sunday, July 9, 2017
Updated: Sunday, July 9, 2017

Hello. My name is Brenda Cruzz. I'm originally from Chihuahua, Mexico but currently live in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I recently started an event planning business (RamSari Events) with two friends and I'm excited to learn new things from this certification to get the business going.

This first project is inspired to assist my brother and girlfriend plan their wedding. They began dating on Halloween and want to get married on or around that date. The theme would be fall/rustic. Ceremony and reception will be outdoors (preferably in the woods/mountains). They are both into classical music so I'm suggesting a harp player for some of the music. It will be a intimate wedding for only close family and friends.

Project 1

Posted By Jessica Alvarez, Friday, July 7, 2017
Updated: Monday, July 31, 2017

Hi, my name is Jessica and I am from Houston, TX. I just left a stable job in search for my true calling. I graduated from the University of Houston in 2012 with a degree in Communications with a focus in Public Relations. My goal as a professional event planner is to be able to have my own company and be the "Go To" planner for the Texas Hispanic market. I would like to start off with weddings and quinceaneras in Houston and eventually branch out to all of Texas. I am truly enjoying this course. My teacher is very honest and to the point. I appreciate her honesty and guidance. She's truly an example that I want to follow. This project was a lot of fun, because it is letting us truly look into what kind of wedding planner we want to be. Whether it be local weddings or destination weddings, or grand wedding or small weddings, we are really looking to see what calls us. I decided to focus on the Hispanic market, as stated before, so I brought the traditions into more of a modern venue. I described it as a "Bougie Mexican Wedding." I want to be able to bring customs into the modern age.

Posted By Melissa Wolfe, Friday, July 7, 2017

Hello,

My name is Melissa, I am starting out with event planning.  I hope to be able to build my business using what I am learning through this course and the projects.  This project helped me start thinking of what my business would look like, the clients I would be working with, and the time it takes to run a business.   My project is on Melissa Wolfe Events, that for now is a one person business, that provides the wedding or event experience for the client. The options I have included are day of services, as well as everything from start to finish for the event.

Project 1 Moodboard

Posted By Lauren Arsenault, Thursday, July 6, 2017

My name is Lauren Arsenault. I am from Connecticut. I just graduated community college with an Associate's Degree in business management. I am currently unemployed and this course is what I am doing for the summer.  I am doing this course because I want to start my own wedding planning business.

So far, this course has been wonderful. It does not feel like school, but instead just learning about something I love. This project was really fun to do. It was cool to make a moodboard for a potential dream wedding. I am looking forward to finishing the project that this assignment was made for.

This moodboard is of an outdoor, spring wedding. I tried to focus on the color pink because that is a nice spring color. I also chose pictures with a lot of flowers because of the venue being outdoors and the season that the wedding would be in.

Project 2- Selling your services

Posted By LaQuoia Gibson, Wednesday, July 5, 2017
Updated: Wednesday, July 5, 2017

Hello,

My name is Elle Gibson and this is my selling your services project. This project encouraged me to dig deeper to cultivate my company and my brand. The project made me take a closer look at my packages and timeline to figure out how many weddings I want to do in a year and how to map out my business plan for up to 5 years.

This project displays my company and what I will be pitching to clients interested in hiring me for their services.

Loved the project as well!

18.6 Blog Contribution

Posted By Kylie Pugh, Tuesday, July 4, 2017
The Final Stretch!!! This has been such an amazing opportunity and I am so excited to be almost done. I have wanted to be a wedding planner for as long as I can remember. Finally this year I was able to go back to school and make my dream a reality. I plan on launching my business at the beginning on 2018 and hopefully be doing this full time by 2020. My business will consist of wedding planning as well as rental services. One day I hope to expand to more services as well. I am in an area where these things are not readily available so I will really have a leg up on the competition and market. I still am a little nervous on my pricing but I think once I get that down I will be all ready to go.

Project 1 Mood Board

Posted By Angela Rodriguez, Tuesday, July 4, 2017
Updated: Tuesday, July 4, 2017

Hello,

My name is Angela Rodriguez and I live in Albuquerque, NM.  I have a full time job where I work for a contractor for Sandia Labs as a Senior Project Administrator and process billing to the labs.  I also just celebrated my 2 year anniversary for my events business and am loving it.  It's a struggle to work full time and run a business but I get through it.  I have education in interior design, along with my bachelors degree in management, which I feel have both helped me in the event industry to "stage" a space/venue, and manage the various aspects of an event.

This course has given me more information and knowledge of things that I was unsure of or haven't come across, but needed and wanted the formal education to learn.  I actually just got engaged last weekend and cannot wait to use these ideals and lessons in my own planning.

I unfortunately took longer on this project due to losing my original PowerPoint file when my computer updated and deleted 3 weeks of my work.  I had to start all over and tried to use Wix.  I ended up loving my new project better than the first so although it took me longer, I am more satisfied with it.

My project is based on a couple is met in college and are both settled in their careers.  They wanted a spring wedding and a bohemian theme with a pastel palette.  This was a very fun project to be creative and do something different than the usual events I get hired for in my area.  I am attaching my mood board as instructed for your review.

Thank you!

Angela
