Project 3 - Grand Opening, Premier Events.

Premier Events will host their grand opening on January 26th, 2018. This event will be a classy evening affair presenting Premier Events services, along with the combined services of local vendors such as photographers, DJ's, caterers, and rental companies. This event will allow guests to mingle with the wedding planners, view pricing and service information, experience and talk to local vendors for a variety of services, and will encourage the use of social media hashtags and posts to get the word out.

I am excited to be doing this course. It's been surprisingly difficult at times and has definitely taken more time than I thought it would. This is what I want to do after I graduate college so learning all of this and doing 18 hours in college is hard, but I enjoy doing this course a lot. However, that being said, it has definitely been a good learning experience for when I am ready to build my business. It has helped me learn the elements I did not realize would be important and has given me great ideas for my wedding and for future weddings I get to plan.
Overall, this has been a really good experience. I'm excited to be done and receive my certification and I appreciate the way this program has challenged me so far.

I am excited to be nearing completion of this course. It's been surprisingly difficult at times and has definitely taken more time to complete than I anticipated. I was a little surprised at how geared the course is to creating or promoting an actual business - as this is not currently my career goal, it has been a little harder than I expected. However, that being said, it has definitely been a good learning experience for when and if I am ready to build a business for real. It has touched on elements I didn't realize would be important and has stoked creativity for wedding planning I didn't know I had. 
Overall, this has been a really good experience even when it wasn't what I expected. I'm excited to be nearly done and appreciate the way these assignments have made me think.

CWEP Project 1

For project 1 I decided to focus on a garden themed wedding. I feel the natural tones and relaxed look of the wedding party fits well with atmosphere of the ceremony and reception. The food and drink are non traditional and classy. The lace design of the sleeves and bodice of the brides gown has a whimsical feel and ties well with the venue.

Hi!

My name is Lyndsay Donovan and I am excited to present my CWEP Project #3, Lyndsay Donovan Weddings. It will open it's doors on February 14 in Houston, TX  with a day full of exciting activities and free give aways and raffles.  The public, along with potential clients and vendors are invited out to this event. Afterwards, there will be the opportunity for anyone who would like to tour it to do so. There will be food, drinks, and games provided in the courtyard area along with a local florist making candy bouquets in the courtyard (free of charge). 

 

A press release announcing our grand opening will be sent to local newspapers, tv stations, and all local radio stations.

CWEP Project 3 - Grand Opening Event - "A Summers Night Dream Come True"

Hi Everyone

My name is Stacie Cross and I am thrilled to present my CWEP Project 3.  Whispering Magnolia WEP will open it's doors on June 5, 2018 in Brookhaven, MS  with a day filled with fun activities and an evening of dining and dancing.  We will begin our day with a ribbon cutting with the Brookhaven Chamber of Commerce.  The community will be invited to attend this event.  Following the ribbon cutting guest will have the opportunity to tour Butterfield Mansion the home of Whispering Magnolia.  We will have activities including lawn games, popcorn station, bracelet bar and plenty of food and drink for our guest.  The evening will be a ticketed event with 100% of the proceeds benefitting the The Brookhaven Trust and Mississippi Children's Village.  Their will be dinner, dancing and silent auction.

We will invite community leaders, civic and social groups and any one in the community that would like to attend.  A press release announcing our grand opening will be sent to local newspapers, television stations and radio stations.  

I find myself amazed at everything I have learned.  Project 3 has created an excitement that is just unbelievable.  I can not wait to help my clients create the wedding or event of their dreams.

Hi! My name is Lyndsay Donovan and I am currently in the last stretch of becoming a certified wedding and event planner through the University of Houston.  

I have learned a lot throughout doing this project, but the most important thing I learned was about how important a reputable vendors play.  It is so important to research the vendors you are choosing.

CWEP: Project 1

Blessings! My name is Josean Osorio and I am 21 years old living in Milwaukee, WI. I have always had a passion for event planning since I was a child. I have always been inspired by David Tutera and everything he has done. Watching his tv show has motivated me to aspire to do what today I am grateful to be doing. I have always loved going into wedding boutiques and looking at the gorgeous gowns and tuxedos and inhaling the beautiful, captivating scenery of the place. I even have worn some of the tuxedos and role played being a groomsman in preparation for my future wedding someday. I remember in middle and high school, when I was in my literature class, I would always write stories around the idea of weddings because that's all that I would ever daydream of. Fast forward to today, I finally own my own business by the name: JMO Royal Designz. JMO stands for my first, middle and last name. I started back in April of 2017 with my cousins Gender Reveal and then it spiraled from there. I used to always do events for youth services in my church and small local events for family members and friends, and hearing the compliments from everyone saying, "You would be a great wedding and event planner, you should start your own business."This is all that I have ever wanted to do and now that I'm able to do it, I'm more than appreciative of the many doors that God is opening in my favor. I am also an aspiring fashion designer. Fashion is EVERYTHING to me aside from God. I have always been inspired by the GOATS in the fashion industry such as: Alexander McQueen, Coco Chanel, Calvin Klein, Alexander Wang, Vera Wang, Oscar de la Renta, Anna Wintour, Olivier Rousteing  (Balmain) and Moschino. Each designers designs have such a unique, edgy, elegant, and sophisticated touch to them that makes each stand out from one another. I desire to put together a strong, disciplined, unique, imaginative team that are self-driven and imaginative like myself. If I could do your job better than you, then there is no point for you to work for and with me. I need a team with fresh ideas and that can teach me many things and vise versa.

I have always been one to stand out from the crowd and never blend in. My style is defined as elegant, edgy, smooth and extravagant. I love slim fit, tailored suits that aren't worn by every man and fabrics like suede, leather, cotton and others. I am a trendsetter and leader of the pack. I love looking at inspirations from pinterest and runway shows. I love pieces of clothing that men usually wouldn't wear or even dare to wear. My style has always been out of this world if I do say so myself. Oscar de la Renta said, "Fashion is a trend. Style lives within a person." 

For my project 1, I have chosen to create my dream wedding. Throughout the years, you see how men don't usually give their input in what they would like to see at their wedding, they leave it all up to the bride to plan. I've never liked that idea. I've always admired the idea of the groom and the bride planning their wedding together and being both involved in the process, not just one carrying the load. At least from my perspective, I have always wanted a grand, dramatic wedding. Pure white, off white and gold are my color preferences. Fresh, white flowers hanging like water falls from the ceilings with hanging crystals and the same for the the centerpieces of each table for the guests. I love a floral, crystallized wedding that smells like a fresh, handpicked garden. Down below you get to see some ideas that I've found and gathered from pinterest that meet the criteria that I love. The simplicity, drama, elegance of each is what attracts me to this type of color scheme and theme.

Jude & Judith

Wedding planning services provided by Lord & Nike’s LLC., Roselle, NJ

 

Jude and Judith met through mutual friends on a business trip in Lagos, Nigeria. Jude is originally from Jos, Nigeria. Jude proposed with his late grandmother’s vintage ring. Their engagement announcements will include pictures of the couple taken at his parent’s vineyard in Jos. Judith and Jude have chosen to enlist the professional help of Lord & Nike’s LLC to assist with their special day and for help the day of the wedding. Judith also decided to have Lord & Nike’s LLC plan her bachelorette party. Judith and Jude love the warm weather in the summer and all the different variations of flower that bloom during that time. Their wedding will be held at The Honors Haven Resort & Spa in Ellenville NY. The resort has many beautiful trees, and a beautiful lake that shimmers into the horizon.

 Judith chose a classic A-line lace gown with cap sleeves. Her one attendant will wear a blue, floor length dress. The groom and his best man will wear dark blue suits with blue boutonnieres and white roses that match the bride’s bouquet. The décor will be reflected in the bouquet’s and the boutonnieres, incorporating white flowers and blue, blue LED lights and plenty of candle light.

The wedding will incorporate Christian values, and will be a short, simple ceremony. Her father will walk her down the aisle and give her away. Jude’s brother’s young children will serve as the ring bearer and flower girl. Pictures of the bride and groom and the wedding party will be taken between the ceremony and the reception. Guests will be served light hourderves and wine during the interim. The reception will incorporate a sit-down dinner with wines from Jude’s parent’s vineyard. After the meal, Jude and Judith will take part in the traditional cake cutting, and bouquet and garter toss during the reception. The reception will be approximately two to three hours, to allow guests to return to their homes or hotels early. Guests will be small rings and cologne or perfumes in appreciation of their attendance.

The new Mr. and Mrs. will send customizes thank you notes to all their guests that include a special picture taken at the wedding.

Project 3 Grand Opening

Grand Opening for Signature Events by Abby. We invited 50 brides to be that attended a bridal showcase at the Indian Springs Country Club in December 2017 to our grand opening on March 24, 2018. Event starts at: 6:30 p.m. 
We sent an evite invitation, which states website link for Grand Opening and our contact information. Theme will be blue as we are hosting event at: Delray Sands, 2809 SOUTH OCEAN BOULEVARD, HIGHLAND BEACH, FL 33487. The A6 design concept will work very well with dark navy blue as we are hosting this cocktail reception in the oceanview terrace and the colors will work very well with backdrop of Atlantic Ocean.  I will have my staff, servers and wedding planners (including myself) dressed in a professional yet inviting style.  We will have pant suits with closed toed shoes, hairstyle will be in a pony tail and make up will be in subtle color palettes.  We will use gold votive candle holders, and use special uplighting against the terrace walls to give a romantic feel to the space.  We will have Mario Smith Jazz band playing favorites such as: Cheek to Cheek, L.O.V.E. and Fly me to the Moon.  As the guests enter the terrace space, a signature cocktail called: Blushing bride will be offered to them. For he fiance, we will have Russian mule and or Coconut Mule.  We will have dark lace blue linens over high top tables with gold votive candle holders and small crystal vases with clear pearls and white orchids.  We will walk around and introduce ourselves to brides and take their information via IPad to send media kit and package information before the night is over.  We plan on showcasing videos on flat TVs to show brides a glimpse of virtual reality technology that is changing our event industry. 
We will introduce them to our company, staff, and my "A" team of vendors. We will introduce them to new apps which give them a virtual reality experience in viewing their event space and communicating with family members living out of state. It will be fun, engaging, and entertaining evening.

CWEP Project 1

Hello,

My name is Tonya Edwards. I have never really had much experience in this field, but even doing this project made me feel like it's right for me. I live in a small town in Illinois and I put my all into this. For this project, I used my younger sister and her boyfriend as my test couple. I wanted their story, which seems to be really basic, but the fact that they're still together is amazing. They met through a mutual friend at a bar. They seem to have a similar vibe, which is good. I decided to sit down with them and get their input on what exactly they would want if they were actually getting married. Like most guys, Presley looked at my sister and said, "Whatever you want. Just tell me the time and place and I would be there if this were real." I did have to get some information from him though because I'm not really sure who he would want to stand up with him on his day. The couple each will have five people standing with them, well sort of. Turns out, on the groom's side their would only be four, but one empty spot would still be present. One of Presley's best friend's passed away earlier in 2017 in an automobile accident, so Presley asked me if it was okay if we left one spot open where his friend would have stood and I said ABSOLUTELY!

They chose a winery to get married at in May. The colors they chose were different shades of purple and grey. They have a family friend for photographs, a mutual friend to DJ the event, and since it would be a very small wedding, they asked their families if they would help cook food and they agreed. I enjoyed sitting down with my sister and her boyfriend to talk about such an occasion that may actually happen in the future. I also enjoyed contacting their friends and families to find out if their requests were even a possibility. I'm very excited to get into this business.

My name is Abigail Vasquez Bruton and I own my own planning company called: Signature Events by Abby.  This work found me. I was given the tasks to plan and organize events at the corporate level for more than 9 years when I worked as an Executive Administrative Assistant for a VP of Online Banking, and as an Associate Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Student Services. I was the main coordinator for the annual awards ceremony at a local college. This is where I realized how much I love this work. It's like the feeling you get when "love finds you."  I love the entire process and seeing your work come to fruition on the day of event. I live in Florida where we plan beautiful destination weddings and corporate events. I feel very fortunate to be an important part of a love story or a success story.  A story expressed through details that we as planners get to coordinate and bring to life with our teams.  My goal is to hire 2 wedding coordinators to work with me. I would also like to have 1 wedding coordinator working out of a New York office, and 1 wedding coordinator working with me in Florida. I would like to hire 3 part-time assistants to help me update and monitor social media accounts, marketing and administrative assistance.  I enjoyed learning about different traditions and cultures and the intricate details that go into each aspect of the process, timelines and planning of events.  I liked how we were given ideas about themes, flowers and aspects that affect the different seasons of the year.  I love the checklist and email and phone inquiry examples used as guidelines.  I loved having access to various topics in the form of webinars.  I enjoyed learning from other students and becoming a part of the Lovegevity Planning Squad.  

In Project #1 My client Gaddy wanted a Bohemian rustic theme.  Her fiance Joe prefers rustic details.  He describes Gaddy as "Miss Fancy Pants."  They are polar opposites in most things. Gaddy and Joe met at a restaurant.  They were both with friends that day.  They were having a drink as they waited for their table to be ready. Joe was standing next to Gaddy and he was captured by the sound of her laughter.  He was so mesmerized by her laughter, that he turned around and started talking to her.  They had the best conversation and since that day, they have been inseparable.  One year and 8 months after they met, they are now engaged to be married in November 2018.   

Gaddy and Joe want a day filled with family, fun and good entertainment.  Gaddy likes top 40's and a variety of sounds: violin, guitar and jazz. Joe prefers Jazz and pop music.  They decided on a string quartet for their ceremony, a jazz band for the cocktail and wedding reception.  

Gaddy loves white orchids, and lace.  She describes herself as "understated elegance."   Joe says that he wants "simple comfort in his attire, and food." 

Wedding day vision: beautiful backdrop of South Beach for ceremony and cocktail reception.  Reception will be on grassy area next to beach.  Buffet of delicious varieties, rustic theme decor, and an amazing Jazz band playing during cocktail and wedding reception.  The night will end with Gaddy and Joe dancing to "Happy" by Pharrell.  It will be a wedding day that will be filled with fun, family, delicious food, and amazing entertainment.  A Bohemian rustic style Signature Wedding for Gaddy and Joe.

CWEP Project #3 - Planning Your Grand Opening

Saturday, April 14, 2018, promises to be a day filled with elegance and sophistication. On that day, Amani Affairs (AA) officially launches, making their debut in the Wilmington area, as a premier wedding and event planning firm. The Garden Party, hosted by Owner & Chief Experience Officer, Jihan Amani François, will highlight Amani Affairs’ aesthetic of “modern elegance” and will focus on high-end vendors and clients.

It’s been a wonderful experience taking this course and exploring how I’d like to launch my business while completing Project 3. I’ve been planning and executing events for 17 years but I never want to stop learning and this course have taught me and a lot by providing new perspectives on wedding and event planning and marketing.

My Project 3 presents my plans for launching my wedding and event planning business in Wilmington, NC, through a garden party at the gardens of a local historic mansion. My PowerPoint walks you through was guests will experience from start to finish and showcases what Amani Affairs is as a company and our philosophy for event planning.

CWEP Project 1

Hi all, 

My name is Sarah and I currently work at a Cancer Research and Treatment Center. I am the former executive event coordinator, though most of my experience is in corporate event planning. I began my college career in hospitality management with an emphasis in event planning, but ended up graduating with a degree in Psychology. After my experience as an event planner, I realized that I enjoyed it and wanted to see what direction that might take me. 
I am not yet at the point of wanting to own my own business, but I have enjoyed what this course has taught me. 

My mood board is a presentation of a wedding for Zach and Elle, a couple from Salt Lake City, Utah. It represents a classic, winter wedding incorporating some colors and themes from the Christmas season. The focus is on winter greenery and flowers, soft light from candles and Christmas lights, and the cozy, intimate evening setting of La Caille, a French themed estate in Sandy, Utah.

Loving the CWEP Course!

I can’t believe I’m almost done with my Certified Wedding & Event Planner course at Lovegevity. It’s been an amazing learning experience. I signed up last December, right before my 36th birthday. I was laid off from a marketing nonprofit job, for the THIRD time, living with my parents again for the first time since I was 23, and trying to figure out what my next step in life was. Family & friends had been telling me for years that I should start my own event planning business but I had been hesitant, after much self-reflection and prayer, I decided to take the leap and launch Amani Affairs. I already have my Bachelor’s and MBA but I know consumers feel most comfortable when their service provider has certifications, so I decided to enroll. I had big plans to breeze through the course and finish in three months but life happened – I got a part-time job AND started getting clients through word-of mouth referrals and advertising on Thumbtack. I didn’t expect to be so busy. When I focused on coursework, I enjoyed it and was learning a lot but my time was thin. Next thing I know, it’s September and I had to apply for class extensions and was second guessing my decision to get certified while launching my business. Now that I am almost done, I am so happy I persevered. I’ve learned so much through the projects, assignments, and online discussions/videos. I have great ideas and plans on how to expand and market my business and I am connected to an awesome community of like-minded planners and business owners. I am already trying to decide what course I am going to take next. Thank you, Lovegevity for everything!

Hi, Im Madeline Dimaren. I loved working on this project #3 because I was able to finally see and feel that this business is what I want and love and that I have taken the right path. I'm super excited to be a certified wedding party planning and work for myself and bring out the creative drive that I have. I look forward to present and represent my company with dignity and elegance and always listening to my clients wishes and doing all in a timely manner.  I just flew for this course to NY, and now living 2,5 hour far away to class. I have my own company whic is called Chicheck Boutique Wedding.

 

 As a certified event marketing and wedding manager agency Chicheck Boutique Wedding is happy to serve Brides and her friends, since 2014 we have operated over 24 Weddings, Henna Nights,Bridal Showers, Proposals  in İstanbul, Turkey.

 

Chicheck Boutique Wedding is a full-service bridal and party consulting group and our goal is to put the "fun" back into planning an event. We can serve up to toe for a bride&groom and brides friends.

I learned a lot from project 2.  Getting a bit more intimately familiar with the NY state marriage laws, the contracts, and other relevant documents was very insightful.  I also gained a great appreciation for the usefulness of pamphlets and presenting yourself professional from the start.
