project 1

Posted By Rachel Soumakis, Tuesday, April 11, 2017
Kelly and Pat are the happy bride and groom to be. They are two simple people who do not want a fancy wedding. This is Kelly's second marriage and she already had the big traditional wedding. Pat being from New Hampshire and who loves the outdoors they figured a barn wedding would be perfect to match their personalities.

Project 3

Posted By Laura Palafox, Monday, April 10, 2017

Project 3 has been very helpful in giving me the confidence I need to start my own business. The entire course with Lovegevity has given me all the resources and knowledge needed to become a successful entrepreneur in the industry. I now feel capable of handling an event planning  business professionally and look forward to accomplishing several goals. One of my goals is to complete five events by the end of the year, and contribute to at least two charitable events in my community. My long term goal is to create a company in which I can rely on my employees to get the job done so I can be able to spend more time with my family, of course, without ever neglecting my part in the company as the owner and the one responsible to deliver the best services. Thank you Lovegevity, thank you Christy Lyons and my classmates for the knowledge, help, support and friednliness given to me during this course.

The following is the link to my project 3.

My Experience With This Course!

Posted By Arianna Davis, Monday, April 10, 2017

This Course has been by far the best experience I've had thus far! I've always had a notch for event/wedding planning since I had the opportunity to work for Disney. Ever since the I have been pursuing the events industry for a while. I was blessed with opportunity to plan my mom's wedding and it turned out amazing which made me fall deeper in love with planning. I really didn't have all the information I needed to know to succeed in this business! But that has changed since I've taken this course. Christy Lyons has been amazing she has brung not only me, but the class as a whole a wonder experience in each meeting. I am happy that I was able to get helpful tools and information that will help me succeed in the wedding planning industry. This has been an amazing journey and experience for me. I'm so happy that i got the opportunity to attend this course i wish everyone success !. Thank you LWPI for everything.

#Project 3 CWEP

Posted By Rebecca Kendrick, Monday, April 10, 2017
Project 3 was fun to do.  Although I am not ready to open the venue yet, it has most of the features I would like to incorporate.  This project was eye opening and will for sure make me do a lot of research prior to opening a venue. Location is of most importance!

My Expirience as a student for Lovegevity

Posted By Laura Palafox, Monday, April 10, 2017
My name is Laura Palafox and I am weeks away from completing the Lovegevity wedding planning certification. I have been waiting for the opportunity to take this course for a long time. I've been interested in the industry for years and I was very intrigued to learn more and become a professional event planner. The Lovegevity program is great, it's definitely more than I was expecting, very well-rounded and with all the information needed to handle an event planning business. Christy Lyons, our instructor, has put forth much effort in teaching us the course and I greatly appreciate her willingness to teach and be there to answer any questions any time. I have enjoyed and learned a lot through the weeks of this course and although I do feel a little nervous and scared to take off as a professional event planner, I know I have the knowledge to do so, and with that I will be in the works to becoming  a successful business owner.

Hi!

My name is Lyndsay and I recently enrolled in the Wedding/Event Planning certification.  My inspiration for project #1 was based off of a friend who is currently in the process of planning her destination beach wedding.  I had a lot of fun with this project and am looking forward to learning more information in the weeks and months to come!

My Experience as a Student of LWPI

Posted By Christina Gomez, Sunday, April 9, 2017
Updated: Sunday, April 9, 2017

My experience as a student of Lovegevity’s Wedding Planning Institute has been amazing!  I opted to take the certification course alongside other classmates at Lone Star College.  I am very fortunate to be surrounded by wonderful ladies and an inspiring instructor, Christy Lyons.  Having been a homemaker for the past decade and much longer from having earned my graduate degree, attending class was my best option.  I was scared and at the same time excited about returning to school with the idea of pursuing a new career.  Although, I am more than confident in saying that this is exactly where I need to be because of my love for planning and design, fear kicked in my first day of class.  Shortly after, I was at ease taking quizzes, contributing to the forum discussions, completing assignments, projects and much more.  Now, I am near finishing the course and appreciate all the hard work and long hours that certified wedding and event planners put into their businesses.  This certification course has given me the tools and confidence to feel well prepared to be a successful entrepreneur.  The curriculum is well rounded and gives us students a strong foundation.  Nonetheless, Christy Lyons’ knowledge and experience in the wedding industry, availability and approachability has made for a great experience.  The venue site visit, hands-on experiences and vendor presentations are all appreciated.  I look forward to additional certifications through Lovegevity’s Wedding Planning Institute, after the completion of my Wedding & Event Planning Certification.

My experience with this Course!!

Posted By Monica Lopez, Sunday, April 9, 2017

My name is Monica Lopez. I have been a Paralegal for the last 10 years and I hate my job. I began volunteering at my daughter's school with the PTA as a VP of Programs and I began putting events, fundraisers, dances, health fairs and carnivals together, and I loved it!!!! I truly enjoy working with people, putting events and parties together, getting creative and thinking outside the box.  I signed up for the course to get information and experience within the industry. I was curious to see what it entailed and what it was all about. After doing a bit of research, I came across Lovegevity University and after reading the course outline, I decided it was time to make myself happy and do what I truly enjoy.  I am almost at the finish line, and I can honestly say, I have met wonderful people, collected useful information, gained knowledge necessary to make decisions and obtained the road map needed to get me going. I am so excited and thankful for the experience.

I cannot wait to receive my certification which will be the beginning and the push I need to enter the industry with confidence.

Thank you again Lovegevity team!!

Project 1

Posted By Kylie Pugh, Saturday, April 8, 2017

My name is Kylie Pugh I am from Indiana. I have been dreaming of becoming a wedding planner my whole life. Finally, in 2017 the stars aligned and I was finally able to make my dreams come true. So far this year I have booked six weddings and am on my way to opening my own business. This course has been nothing short of amazing.  I have learned so much and what's even better is it's stuff I am going to be using in my career for years to come. My Project 1 was over Kora and Marshall. Their theme was very simple boho, and it was important I incorporated that all the way through. My favorite part about this project was seeing the final event come together.

Project 3

Posted By Coreena Altig, Saturday, April 8, 2017

I think my grand opening event really reflects my style and my brand. I can't wait to start my business and throw this party for real! I chose JDRF because it is a cause very near and dear to my heart. My brother was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes at the very young age of 12 and has been struggling with it for years now even with a pump.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Tiffany Burke, Saturday, April 8, 2017

Even though this project was a bit time consuming, I really enjoyed understanding the internal and external way of creating a wedding business and learning the business tactics, and legal documents that one must implement to future clients. This definitely helped prepare me for when I really have to execute and create my own welcome package and contracts. I wished there was a little bit more discussion and examples regarding contracts but overall I was pleased with my final work and the tips provided by LWPI.

For this project, my company name was The Crown Carriage Wedding & Events by Tiffany. In my overall welcome package, clients will get a package consisting of a questionnaire, contracts,  wedding countdown, budget sheet, vendor info, registries, bridal responsibilities, counseling, themes, tips, and etc. My business will market towards newly engaged couples, business owners, charity groups, and anyone looking for a planner to help them with their social events. Eventually I would like the business to continue expanding in New Mexico and Panama, and start offering a destination wedding & event package.

CWEP Project 3

Posted By Tiffany Burke, Saturday, April 8, 2017

This was probably my favorite project by far! I really enjoyed creating the blog post, portfolio/gallery, and just my overall view of my website. This gave me a great visual of what I would like my actual website to look like in the future (well similarly). It was a bit time consuming but well worth it because I realize now how much time it takes to blog and what it would be like to keep up to date with ones portfolios and pictures on social media sites and etc.

For my grand opening website, the theme that I went with for this event was a Venetian Royal Ball. The main colors I went with was purple and gold. Guest will be dressed in formal attire or can come dressed in an 1800 era costume with a mask. There will be a fashion show, caricature artist, silent disco, hair/make up consultation, DYI classes, charity/fundraiser opportunities, vendor displays, raffles/giveaways, hor d'oeuvres, contest, English country dance, and a ribbon cutting ceremony. This event will target more specifically newly engaged couples and business owners, but not limited to other individuals looking for assistance in social events and etc.

The completion of this project was bitter sweet but I’m so grateful for my overall experience with Lovegevity. I have never been more sure of what I want to do in my life. Thank you LWPI for all the tips/ideas/materials that you have provided for us students. I can’t wait to come back again and take the Master Class Course. Thank you Lovegevity!!!!!
