Blog Submission Project 1

Posted By cheryl robinson, Sunday, June 4, 2017

Hello everyone!  My name is Cheryl Robinson.  I am a native New Yorker raised in the Bronx.  I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and I am a Veteran. I have one loving, devoted son. I decided on the event planning business because of my love for celebrations but most of all, my love for people. I bring to the table, good judgment, creativity, time management and decision making.  I also have received extensive training in wedding and special event planning as well as event design.

Course was aspiring and a bit challenging. Not realizing what the course in tale, the work load was somewhat heavy. With my already busy schedule of school and work, I truly felt I’ve bitten off a lot more than I can handle.  Through it all, I did it and I wouldn’t change a thing.  This course showed me in real time what this business is all about.

Project 1 is based on a military couple from Brooklyn.  They are having a Winter Wonderland New Year’s Eve Celebration. The wedding will be a Semi-formal event on December 31, 2018. They will have 300 guests.  They want a contemporary concept but with a modern style with no tradition.  Wedding will start @8pm

Mood Board was one of a semi-formal event with a winter wonderland twist.  Pictures are from Pinterest.

Updated: Saturday, June 3, 2017

Lovey Dove Event Planning & Design is officially opening its doors to the public! Join us Saturday, August 26th, from 3:00pm-8:00pm at the Stamford Center for the Arts.

You will be able to meet the owner of Lovey Dove Events, be able to enter raffles for amazing gift baskets and prizes, learn about wedding makeup + free makeovers and more!

Lovey Dove Events has teamed up with two charities that are near and dear to the owner's heart as well as local business to bring to you an unforgettable evening!

Refreshments and food will be available so bring your appetite!

Project 3 was my favorite! There was so much fun involved in creating the grand opening and letting the imagination run wild a little bit. The most exciting aspect of this project was involving philanthropy. To be able to give back to a charity that’s near and dear is an amazing feeling. This final project really showed just how far I’ve come since day one with this course. Looking forward to continuing the journey and utilizing all that I have learned.

Project 3 represents the grand opening that I will offer for my business. Included on the grand opening website, is an overview of what will be at the big event. Food, wedding makeup and hairstylists, a wedding photographer, and more! RSVP information available.

Project 2 Blog Submission

Posted By Kendra Allen, Saturday, June 3, 2017

Project 2 was a rewarding experience considering that a great deal of work was placed into completing the project. The experience is beneficial and educational. The most challenging part of this project was creating the day of contract. With that said, I enjoyed working on this very much.

Project 1 Blog Entry

Posted By Kendra Allen, Saturday, June 3, 2017

Greetings everyone. My name is Kendra and I hail from Connecticut. My background is in hospitality as I have a BS degree and I have worked within multiple facets of the industry. My goal for the wedding and event industry is to become a designer. I have a creative flare and know my strengths lie in making a vision come true. As much as I love the planning and will incorporate that into my business, I would love to mainly operate by offering my design skills.

Working in project 1 has had its degree of difficulty and fun. I found it has not been easy trying to plan a wedding for a ‘pretend’ couple. With that being said, going through the process has been exciting and educating. Working full time, this has been one of my bigger challenges and frustration, but seeing the light at the end of the tunnel is what made completing the project worth it.

Project 1 is about a couple from Fairfield County Connecticut where the wedding will be held in Spring of 2018. The feel I wanted to create for the couple was soft, simple, elegant and romantic. Colors are soft, but meaningful, floral choices are lovely and colorful, and the ceremony and reception will reflect how the couple feel about one another as well as family and friends. Their wedding will begin at 5:00pm just in time to view the beautiful sunset.

Updated: Thursday, June 1, 2017

Hello! & Thank you for join us as we celebrate the Official Launch of B'z Buzzin Events! A wedding and event planning company designed to fit the lifestyle and budget of your everyday working couple, or anyone who is hosting a big event from baby showers to company networking.

B'z Buzzin Events is a family owned event planning company out of San Pablo, California. The company's owner and lead planner is a Bay Area native who has worked in the wedding industry for close to 7 years before branching out to start her own event planning company, with the help of her talented family.

"Let us make your wedding day all the buzz about town"

Project 3 has been the most exciting for me because I was able to envision my actual launch party or grand opening of my business. I believe a lot of creative energy came about while working on the grand opening. While I have some time before I am completely ready to host my launch party, I believe this portion of the class gave me so many tools that I can take with me and apply to my business. I am forever grateful for my instructor Mr. Tony, He was such an amazing guild through this journey.

Project 2: B'z Buzzin Events

Posted By Rasheda L. Figgs, Wednesday, May 31, 2017
Updated: Thursday, June 1, 2017

My experience in this course has been life changing, I have known for a very long time that I wanted to be an event planner but life happened and this course lite a fire in me and know I am motivated more than ever to get my business up and running.

Project 2 taught me a lot about how to start my business, creating a business plan and it made me think about how I want the flow of my business to run. The bay area is very fast pace and my strategy is you appeal to the busy every day couple who does not want the added stress. I read a quote that said, "Keep grinding until you don't have to introduce your self any more" and that is what I want B'z Buzzin Events to be. I want it to be a well known Bay Area brand. I plan to spend the rest of the year working on branding and launch my business in 2018.

CWEP Project 1 B'z Buzzin Events

Updated: Thursday, June 1, 2017

Hello All! My name is Rasheda Figgs, most of my friends and family call me "B". That is where I got the name of by company. I am from Oakland, CA and yes I am a Warriors fan, if anyone is a sports fan. I have an associates degree in Liberal studies: social and behavioral sciences.

I have truly enjoyed working on project 1, I must say I had some challenges in the beginning with the mood board and canva, I work full time and im also a full tie student working on my bachelor's degree. I thought I may have bitten off more than I can chew with this course. (fingers are still crossed). However this course proved to me, that this business is what I would like to make my career.

My project is based on a city couple from the LA area, It will be a Summer/Fall wedding. I wanted to create a formal event using a typically rustic theme, and incorporating my love for honeybees. Most of the pictures I found of bee themed weddings were out doors, and had a more casual rustic theme, so i had to think out side of the box. It is an evening wedding Ceremony starting around 5PM.

This course has taught me so much about the event planning industry and I couldn't be more thankful. Although Project 3 was just an example of what I can offer in the future, I'm excited to eventually be able to open up my own business.

Updated: Tuesday, May 30, 2017

My name is Janeith Wright, a soon-to-be certified Wedding and Event Planner through The Wedding Planning Institute, a division of Lovegevity. While I am going to be newly certified, I am no stranger weddings and events. I’ve worked as a professional singer and have performed in and assisted with planning events ranging from weddings, showers, parties, and various other events. My experience at Lovegevity has equipped me with the knowledge and skills I need to fully execute an event from inception to completion. I am grateful for the chance to acquire the tools needed to live the life I dream of. I think the projects were instrumental in my preparation. They provided an opportunity for practical application of the information covered and helped me to lay the foundation for my business.  Project 3, Grand Opening was a good way to put all the pieces together. I eagerly look forward to officially launching in the near future.

Project 1

Posted By Kerrady M. Davis, Monday, May 29, 2017

Hey! I'm Kerrady Davis and I'm from Alabama. I just graduated high school and I am excited about this journey. I hope my career in event planning is successful because there is a need in my area.

I feel like the more projects I do, the better I will get, so hopefully that is true. I haven't figured everything out yet, but I enjoyed the project.

For this project, my couple wanted a spring wedding with a floral theme. Every thing was done in pastels with floral accents.

CWEP Project 1

At first I was a little confused with the first assignment. I didn't fully understand the purpose of creating a mood board however, now after doing this assignment I finally get it. In some ways it's an opportunity to sell your client on different ideas. Just as a interior decorator will do with swatches, etc. I think this turned out to be a very fun assignment.

CWEP Project 2

I was really excited to get to this project and see it come to completion. I will be launching my business next year so this really helped me get a jump start on what my customers will be needing and expecting. I presented my project like I was presenting a potential client an information folder. It was important to try to clearly convey  my business without going overboard and giving too much information.

Project 2

Posted By Janeith Wright, Saturday, May 27, 2017
Project 2 gave me the opportunity to look at the big picture and really think about my business model and how I plan to operate. While determining my pricing and packages was challenging, I also found the activity to be motivating and empowering as well. This project was instrumental in helping me stay focused on setting and achieving my goals.

Hey Everyone! My name is Carly Mascetta. Signing up for this course was one of the best decisions I've made. This class is teaching me a lot of new things. In the future, I would love to have my own business but I know I have a long way to go. I want to gain as much experience as I can in the event planning industry. My project was based off of a countryside theme. The target market that I wanted to attract was couples who love the outdoors.

I just finished my the first assignment - the mood board. This was a fun first assignment because I had already had the idea in my head of what my first design concept would be. I also had about half the pictures I needed for this assignment already, I just had to pick and choose to stay consistent with the design. I also found the video "how to" extremely helpful because I am not familiar with Canva.

Posted By Lisa Wells, Tuesday, May 23, 2017
Updated: Tuesday, May 23, 2017

Hello!  Project 3 - Planning a grand opening that I envision for myself and my company was a lot of fun!  The celebration will be at a winery near Fort Worth, TX. It is a beautiful, country setting that involves things I love:  wedding planning, scenery, food, wine, music, flowers and desserts! :)

My company's mission statement:

Perfect Touch Events provides event planning services such as consultations, “day of/month of” event planning, full service event planning and beyond.  We offer multiple a la carte services such as invitations, dessert and candy buffets, and custom photo backdrops.  The mission of Perfect Touch Events is to provide the highest level of event planning services and customer service, while working within your budget.  We will put the “perfect touch” on each client’s important event!

I have really enjoyed this class and the experience, especially my instructor and classmates.  I've learned so much and can't wait to turn it into more real world experience.

Grand Opening Ari Ledezma Event Planning & Design! Spring Flower Party!

Posted By Arianna Ledezma, Tuesday, May 23, 2017
Updated: Tuesday, May 23, 2017

Ari Ledezma Event Planning & Design Grand Opening!

Spring Flower Party!

Our goal in project 3 is to make the grand  opening memorable. I love  this project! My favorite  part was  creating the  A8 formula. It was very interesting, coordinating everything and have a balance with color, decoration…. Design is one of my favorites in the wedding & event planning process because there are great  possibilities…I learned several things from this project, but the biggest thing I took away was to be very organized. It is essential and you will get excellent events.

Ari Ledezma Event  Planning & Design Grand Opening celebration will  take place at: Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in  Coral Gable, Miami. It will be  a mix of emotions  and promoting  our business  and  displaying  our excellent  vendors. The event will have a served dinner and spring flower  theme. We will greet guests and have them fill out a profile Sheet. They will then proceed to the garden  where local vendors have set up displays.  Guests will be welcomed with champagne  and  delicious appetizers. The event will be  completely free.

I am so excited to share my mood board that I have been working on! Once I found my first vision it was so easy to pull it all together. My inspiration was a rainforest wedding. I imagined whimsical details, bohemian styles and even lights in the sky as a finale! Enjoy!

COMING TO A CLOSE

Posted By Lisa Wells, Monday, May 22, 2017
All good things come to an end!!  I am in my last week of the Wedding and Event Planning course through LWPI and Tarrant County College.  It's been such a rewarding experience seeing all the hard work I've put into it and realizing all that I've learned.  I'm proud of what I have accomplished and I look forward to the future!  I will greatly miss seeing my instructor Cheryl Allgood and my fellow classmates each week, but I think we will keep track of each other and celebrate each other's successes.  I have just loved this experience! Thank you!

CWEP Project 2

Hello.  My name is Jennifer Chung from Jlove Events.  Project 2 has made me realize how much research and planning is involved in starting your event planning business.  The designs and details involved really helped to start my own brand to show my colors and styles.  Also learned very valuable lessons from this project, especially to always document each step of my planning process and to remember to keep up to date with the trends to keep my brand, packages, and data sheets up to date.

Project #3

Posted By Jackie Butler, Friday, May 19, 2017

I am Jackie Butler an upcoming Event Planner. I have worked in hospitality for many years and love the creativity it allows me. I have enjoyed the class but I wish it had more classes directed to Event Planner. Cheryl Allgood, our instructor, has been very supportive.

Each year the TRCC's Business & Community Expo connects more than 100 vendors to their community, allowing them to showcase their offerings as they meet future customers. More than 1,000 spectators are expected to attend this year's event, which the TRCC is energized to announce is returning to community favorite attraction
