Project 3

Posted By Patrice Muhlenfeld, Friday, March 24, 2017

The completion of Project 3 has really "wrapped a bow" around the whole Lovegevity experience for me.  I have never done work in a formal context with event planning, so when I began Project 1, I really was lost in regards to the direction the course was taking.  After the second project, I began understanding where the pathway was leading.  Now after Project 3, and with all the teachings and podcasts, I finally comprehend how all the material fit together.  I am not ready to make my real website yet, as I am still part time in the workforce.  However, when the time comes, I feel well prepared for this process as well as being equipped to start building the framework of my own business.  I especially appreciated Lovegevity's emphasis on Appreciation, for clients and for vendors and for each other, and also for the encouragement for Philanthropy.

My Experience.

Posted By Koren Merrill, Thursday, March 23, 2017

Hi Everyone.

My experience with LWPI has been a rocky one. I have always enjoyed my assignments and all the new information I have taken in. I took a while longer than I had anticipated, but I'm close to finally completing this journey. I still have all the love for weddings and assisting in changing someone's life that I did when I first started the program. It's definitely an eye opening experience when you start writing a contract for your own business and all. I had never thought about that part of everything and it definitely has made a difference. I feel like I have learned a lot more than I anticipated originally and I'm thankful for every minute of it. I can't wait to finish up and start making some wedding dreams come true!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Amisha Wadia, Thursday, March 23, 2017
Hi my name is Amisha, I really enjoyed doing this project to the fullest.  I pick an elephant theme South Asian wedding that related to my cultural background.  I wanted to also add glitz and glamour to have some festive looks to it.  I also make sure some traditional rituals were included, like for example the groom arriving on a horse to wed his bride.  This always gets everyone's heart racing at the beginning of the event.  This is what you call a modern day south asian wedding.

Project 1

Posted By Andrew Katsuleas, Thursday, March 23, 2017
Updated: Sunday, March 26, 2017

This project opened the door to both Pintrest and Canva, for me. It has been challenging but exciting to learn something new and tie my creative visions into actual visions using these tools.

This Wedding is designed for Greg and Ana. They are in their mid-thirties and have children from previous relationships. Ana requested a French Country theme to embrace their love of nature, food and French culture. Since they both have children, the ceremony incorporates them and creates a family more than a marriage. The reception focuses on light, life and love. They opted to have hand made French soaps as the gift for their guests and the grooms cake is an over the top Croquembouche.

Project 1

Posted By Sierra Singleton, Wednesday, March 22, 2017

My name is Sierra. I graduated from West Virginia University in May of 2016 with a degree in Public Relations and Communications Studies. I have always enjoyed planning events for my family and friends so I decided to do Lovegevity to pursue a career in what I love to do. My goal is to pan events for large hospitality groups and eventually start my own business called Ajoyo.

This project was challenging because I’m a perfectionist but also enjoyable because it was all from my imagination and it was amazing to see a visual representation of what I was thinking. My couple was named Bailey and Caden and they enjoyed the outdoors and the fall season. I made their entire wedding based on that by incorporating décor, food, and locations that showcased the beautiful fall season in West Virginia. Overall, I really like the event I planned because I feel it reflected the couple that I envisioned, their personality, likes and dislikes.

Assignment 18.6 experience as a student of Lovegevity’s Wedding Planning Institute

Posted By Carolina Abbinanti, Wednesday, March 22, 2017
This has been the most amazing experience. I have the fortune to have the best teacher, I definitely consider her as my mentor and actually I choose this program because of her. I can't believe is almost over, I am feeling extremely happy for this new journey that I am starting having my own company but  at the same time is a sad to know that I am not going to see my school friends every week and my teacher. I have learned a lot and I am super Blessed to have had this opportunity in my life.

CWEP Project 1

Updated: Tuesday, March 21, 2017

My name is Ayesha Fardell, I am from New Jersey, but currently residing in Los Angeles. I was previously the Director of Operations for four San Francisco based restaurants, but have been planning weddings for the past two years. While I have acted as the Day of Planner and Partial Planner for several weddings, I would really like to begin planning weddings from start to finish.

My experience thus far with the course has been amazing, I am learning a lot of skills for organization, presentation, and execution. Project 1 has been challenging in the best way possible, it really pushed me to get into all of the details that go into planning a full event. This particular wedding was planned for the couple Jasmine and Alex, two Los Angeles based artists looking to create a beautiful, fun, joyful wedding with their loved ones. Their theme was Autumn Romance, with a European twist, and we made sure to ignite all five senses with elements of their theme.

Taylor and Preston are to be married soon. They are both very excited and can not wait to share their lives together. They met on the beach and want to show that with their guests. Gold, cream and navy blue will be decorated along the beach. The couple plan to have a sweet treat for their guests and a musical band to dance the night away. Before departing and enjoying the happily ever after, Preston has arranged for a beautiful firework display.

Project 3 was such a useful project to see the amount of time and work it takes to build a solid website for your company.  There is so muh information you need to compile and have consise, it is very helpful when you do it with a mock website like this one.  It was rewarding to see everything come together and I actually really enjoyed this project.  It is such an amazing opportunity to get the experience doing this at such an early stage of my event planning career.  The link to my website is below, check it out!!

Project 2 was a great way to use your creativity and dive into the logistics of what it takes to start up your own business.  It really allowed me to see what I need to work on and what aspects I think I am strong at when it comes to business.  I really enjoyed getting to pull all of my information together and see it come to life!

PROJECT 2: SELLING YOUR SERVICES

Posted By Lawuana Green, Monday, March 20, 2017
i FOUND PROJECT 2 A LITTLE CHALLENGING BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW IF YOUR CONTRACTS ARE SUFFIECIENT.  WHILE PUTTING THE PROJECT TOGETHER I WASN'T SURE IF I WAS CHARGING TO MUCH FOR MY SERVICES OR NOT ENOUGH.  I FEEL SELLING MY SERVICES CAN HAVE SO MANY CATEGORIES TO IT THAT I KNOW I COULD HAVE ADDED MORE TO THIS PROJECT.  THIS WAS A GOOD STEPPING STONE FOR ME TO HAVE MANY MORE OPTIONS FOR MY BUSINESS.

Diana Albano/Assignment 18.6

Posted By Diana Albano, Monday, March 20, 2017

Hello Lovegevity students!!

My name is Diana Albano, my experience with Lovegevity will be unforgettable. When I decided I wanted to become a wedding planner I did not even know where to begin. I knew in my heart that planning events and wedding was my calling. It all started when I was a little girl when I had dreams of planning my very own wedding. I could imagine everything, except the groom of course. I fell in love with love, people can say "oh she is just a hopeless romantic", well they are not lying. I wanted to plan a day for someone else without them having to worry about anything. I want the client to look back at their special day and say "remember how beautiful our wedding was". Happiness is what keeps me up and at it. I am just a ball of sunshine. Lovegevity taught me everything I needed to know about planning a wedding. I made wonderful friends and was able to meet a wonderful teacher and a planner herself. When I first heard that this course was online I was so frightened because in high school I took so many online classes and I hated them. This program made me love it!

Lovegevity gave me the boost I needed. I am only 19 years old, yes I know what you are thinking. I took this jump for me, I could not see myself for 4 years in a university. I tried to go to college and ended up hating it. I just wanted to jump in my career already and this course gave me the chance to do so. Hopefully I will be able to intern for a company and then once I have enough the experience I need in order to make my own business, I will take the chance and do it. Lovegevity not only made me fall more and more in love with wedding it gave me the push I needed, I believe that you can do anything you set your mind to.

Keep on shinning!!

Assignment 1

Posted By Marina Wick, Monday, March 20, 2017

For my first project, I am putting a wedding together that has a very unique and beautiful Halloween Forest theme; the dark colors along with the outdoor locations and spooky yet glamorous touches really pulls it all together in style.

This is my Canva Collage for Project 1. I really enjoyed getting to find all these beautiful photos on Pintrest of the gold and purple theme for my couple for my first project. I feel like this collage captures the theme of their wedding so well. It really shows their style as a couple through these pictures. They are into a vintage look, but still with a modern touch!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By STEPHANIE PEDEN, Monday, March 20, 2017
Project 1 was inspired by a magical, woodland type of wedding. The ceremony would be held outdoors, with lots of white and green elements, and the pop of colour would be burgundy. The ceremony will be held inside in a barn with lots of lights to create that magical atmosphere.

My Experience with Lovegevity (18.6)

Posted By Coreena Altig, Sunday, March 19, 2017

My experience with Lovegevity has been unbelievable!

Wedding Planning is something I've been wanting to pursue for a long time, it has always been my dream and ideal career. Out of everything out there in the world to do, this was the one thing I knew I wanted to do someday. For a long time I was too scared to even look into how to get started for fear of failing and not being good enough. Finally, about a year ago my friend came to visit and told me she was being offered to run the new event center her current employer planned on opening. I couldn't believe one of my friends was just being handed my dream job! The news gave me the push I needed to start looking into what I could do to get an education and more experience so I could start following my dream.

The course itself was a lot more work and time consuming than I expected it to be, but it was so much fun doing the work that I didn't even notice how much time would pass while working on the assignments. I was really nervous about doing everything online because I had never taken an online class before and I've always heard how difficult they can be. I'm really happy to say that Lovegevity has made it surprisingly easy to take online and not feel like you're missing out on information or face to face classes.

The internship was amazing. It was great to connect with some other really amazing girls in the program and help out at a charity event. It was so cool to be part of such a high class event and help raise money for a great cause.

All in all, I couldn't be more happy with my experience. I feel well prepared to start a successful business and I can't wait.

#CWEP #Project2

Posted By Patrice Muhlenfeld, Sunday, March 19, 2017

Project 2 is completed.  It was a lot of work but more enjoyable than Project 1 as I now am understanding the purpose of the different required assignments and how they all fit together to teach the process of how to start your own business and how to present to clients and how to market yourself.  I enjoyed creating packages and these activities, along with the mission statement, really made me evaluate how I wanted to present my business and what my individual goals were and where the projected path was that I was aiming for.  It brought clarification to my thought processes and helped define my vision.
