My Journey

Posted By Marlene Martinez, Thursday, April 20, 2017
Hi my name is Marlene Martinez and I just would like to say that I had a wonderful time taking this course. I learned so much about event planning. I had only been in this industry for about 2 years and hope to learn more as i continue my journey as an event planner. My instructor, Abeki Carter has taught me that we have to learn how to face our fear. Once we get through it, it will be a piece of cake. We have to put ourselves out there. I'm sure we will all do great and so will I. We have to believe in ourselves and not let our future clients down. Good Luck everyone !

Posted By Andrea Kinsel, Wednesday, April 19, 2017

My name is Andrea Kinsel. I have enjoyed this course thus far, and I'm ready to take what I've learned from this class and begin my own journey. This project was exciting and allowed me to learn lots of good information that I am going to put towards my business. The project I am presenting is geared towards Houston, TX which is where I will be doing business. In the project, I added the bridal questionnaire, and the countdown till I do to give it a little something extra.

It also gives information about the charity in Houston that I would be donating money to, which is called Target Hunger.

Project 2

Posted By Sofia Evankovich, Wednesday, April 19, 2017

My business, Sofia’s Event Consulting, strives to exceed clients event expectations every time! I want to create those meaningful and memorable events for every single client.  My marketing strategy aims at repeat business and word of mouth via referrals. A bonus to event planning is there is always an occasion; birthdays, weddings, showers, reunions, graduations etc.  Additionally, using social media and local networking meetings I will be able to expand my business and begin build my reputation.I would say my “bread and butter” type of event includes about 200 guests, a budget of approximately $20,000, it incorporates food service, bar service, cocktail hour, live entertainment, and last roughly 5-7 hours. That is my event comfort zone, however, I love find new clients with new traditions and not only grow my event knowledge but learn about a new culture or tradition. There are two specialty services that I offer to my clients, diagrams to visualize any space or part of their wedding, it calms the clients mind and, I offer full 48 hour timeline preparation, from the rehearsal dinner to leaving for the honeymoon. I like to tailor my service specifically to each clients. My listed packages are a starting point with customization to come! The future for my business looks bright, with just beginning in the event world there is lots of growth ahead of me. I plan to move around within the next several years which will allow myself to experience different events and opportunities across the nation. My brand is new, it is evolving, and it is excited about each new opportunity!
