Project 1 Moodboard

Posted By Lauren Arsenault, Thursday, July 6, 2017

My name is Lauren Arsenault. I am from Connecticut. I just graduated community college with an Associate's Degree in business management. I am currently unemployed and this course is what I am doing for the summer.  I am doing this course because I want to start my own wedding planning business.

So far, this course has been wonderful. It does not feel like school, but instead just learning about something I love. This project was really fun to do. It was cool to make a moodboard for a potential dream wedding. I am looking forward to finishing the project that this assignment was made for.

This moodboard is of an outdoor, spring wedding. I tried to focus on the color pink because that is a nice spring color. I also chose pictures with a lot of flowers because of the venue being outdoors and the season that the wedding would be in.

I eventually would like to own my own wedding/event venue, but i first wanted to gain some experience to start my career. Project 2- Selling your services

Posted By LaQuoia Gibson, Wednesday, July 5, 2017
Updated: Wednesday, July 5, 2017

Hello,

My name is Elle Gibson and this is my selling your services project. This project encouraged me to dig deeper to cultivate my company and my brand. The project made me take a closer look at my packages and timeline to figure out how many weddings I want to do in a year and how to map out my business plan for up to 5 years.

This project displays my company and what I will be pitching to clients interested in hiring me for their services.

Loved the project as well!

18.6 Blog Contribution

Posted By Kylie Pugh, Tuesday, July 4, 2017
The Final Stretch!!! This has been such an amazing opportunity and I am so excited to be almost done. I have wanted to be a wedding planner for as long as I can remember. Finally this year I was able to go back to school and make my dream a reality. I plan on launching my business at the beginning on 2018 and hopefully be doing this full time by 2020. My business will consist of wedding planning as well as rental services. One day I hope to expand to more services as well. I am in an area where these things are not readily available so I will really have a leg up on the competition and market. I still am a little nervous on my pricing but I think once I get that down I will be all ready to go.

Project 1 Mood Board

Posted By Angela Rodriguez, Tuesday, July 4, 2017
Updated: Tuesday, July 4, 2017

Hello,

My name is Angela Rodriguez and I live in Albuquerque, NM.  I have a full time job where I work for a contractor for Sandia Labs as a Senior Project Administrator and process billing to the labs.  I also just celebrated my 2 year anniversary for my events business and am loving it.  It's a struggle to work full time and run a business but I get through it.  I have education in interior design, along with my bachelors degree in management, which I feel have both helped me in the event industry to "stage" a space/venue, and manage the various aspects of an event.

This course has given me more information and knowledge of things that I was unsure of or haven't come across, but needed and wanted the formal education to learn.  I actually just got engaged last weekend and cannot wait to use these ideals and lessons in my own planning.

I unfortunately took longer on this project due to losing my original PowerPoint file when my computer updated and deleted 3 weeks of my work.  I had to start all over and tried to use Wix.  I ended up loving my new project better than the first so although it took me longer, I am more satisfied with it.

My project is based on a couple is met in college and are both settled in their careers.  They wanted a spring wedding and a bohemian theme with a pastel palette.  This was a very fun project to be creative and do something different than the usual events I get hired for in my area.  I am attaching my mood board as instructed for your review.

Thank you!

Angela

Project 1-Plan a Wedding (The Williams Way)

Posted By LaQuoia Gibson, Sunday, July 2, 2017
Updated: Sunday, July 2, 2017

Hello, my name is LaQuoia Gibson. I am from Oakland, CA! I'm a Business Admin for a video game company in San Francisco. I plan to assist companies and clients in the Bay Area by providing great events and parties! This course has taught me so much fundamentally. There is so much to learn in the industry and this is the perfect place to build up your knowledge and educate yourself on event life.

This project is for a wedding hosted in the Bay Area. The lovely couple has sought me out to plan and coordinate their event. They had a difference in style but came to a compromise which basically means the bride got everything she wanted (lol).

Enjoy!!!

Project 1

Posted By Courtney Levasseur, Saturday, July 1, 2017

Hello everyone!

My name is Courtney Levasseur and I am originally from New Jersey but now I live in the sunshine state. I moved to Florida about 3 years ago for College and  I attended Full Sail University and graduated with a degree in Music Business. I always had a passion for working in event management, there is a variety of jobs in the industry where you can express yourself and be creative in your line of work. Around a year ago I decided that I wanted to work in the wedding industry and become a wedding planner. I would always watch the wedding shows that would come on and always thought how amazing that job would be to make someones special day come true. After help planning my aunt's wedding last year I knew that this is the industry I belong in. My goal is to someday have my own company or work with a high profile event company in the future. My project is based on my aunt and uncle's wedding from this year and what I would have done if I was the wedding planner. The wedding takes place in fall so the theme is rustic with a touch of elegance. I love rustic and barn weddings so I wanted to add my own style to it with a modern touch to it. . The color theme will be grey, burgundy and hints of gold throughout. This project was fun and creative and I loved planning every detail of the wedding.

Project 2. Marry&More Events

Posted By Mireia M. Mauri, Thursday, June 29, 2017
Updated: Thursday, June 29, 2017

My name is Mireia, I am originally from Barcelona, I have lived many years in Germany and currently I am happy to call San Francisco my home.
I have always loved being involved in the organisation of all kind of social events, but it was when I was planning my own wedding in 2016 that I realized how passionate I was about this.

Mine was not a common wedding, starting with the location: an uninhabited village in the middle of lakes and mountains, an incomparable scenery but with no water supply, no electricity, and a very poor cell phone coverage. We succesfully overcame all the challenges along the way and the event was a great success. The village does not yet appear on Google Maps, but our guests will for sure never forget that place.

After organizing my wedding, and with all the lessons learned, I decided to go further and get my certificate in Wedding and Event Planning, with the determination of helping other people like me.

Preparing this project I could better picture how my business will be and define more clearly my target market. In the next months I will work on my corporate image and I will fine-tune my strategy and action plan. My goal is to have everything ready to launch my own business by the end of this year.

PROJECT 1: PLAN A SOCIAL EVENT OR WEDDING

Posted By Twala Lockhart, Thursday, June 29, 2017

HI, my name is Twala Lockhart and I thoroughly enjoyed working on this  project. I  learned so much about all of the details that go in to planning a wedding,  and didn't realize  the value of having a wedding planner until now.  Coming up with the mood board and the presentation was easy.  However, the logistics of lining up  vendors and composing a timeline was a challenge. But  I was able to complete it all and I think everything turned out beautifully. I can't  wait for the next project!

Hello-

My name is Lauren. I have been a student for longer than a year. I did not focus my efforts into completing this when I should have. Now that I am almost there, I can taste the future and the opportunity that will be at my door. Being a student here at Lovegevity has given me the tools to move forward in a career that I have always wanted to be in. I would recommend it to anyone who wanted to explore this option. Good luck to all the other students who are on their way to the wedding planning world!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Crystal Devin Fisher, Tuesday, June 27, 2017
Updated: Tuesday, June 27, 2017

I am Crystal Fisher. I am currently the sales & event manager at an event venue in Houston. I've worked at venues since I started in the hospitality industry, and I truly enjoy being the venue representative. My venue is full service, so we provide the food & beverage service in addition to the space. I am taking this course to better serve the brides and other clients that book my venue for their special events. Completing project 1 was a fun, and sometimes, challenging process. As a sales manager at a venue, I'm never involved in coordinating vendors like attire, invitations, transportation or floral. Working on this project has given me a little more experience in this error. I was able to incorporate ideas that I've seen work at other events, add things that I thought were missing when I've done other event, and avoid things that I've seen fail. One of my favorite spaces in Houston--aside from mine--is the Hobby Center for Performing Arts. I created a couple and their vision based on the space and it's potential. The Hobby Center has these long windows and asymmetrical shape that screams modern, so I created a modern and ultra-chic event that doesn't shy away from the personal touches or guest amenities. I walk through the entire A8 formula, slide by slide, in addition to budget breakdown and vendor information. The sleek steel, black and white design of Lance and Alicia's wedding is really a treat!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Shanna Danielle Doty, Monday, June 26, 2017
Hello! My name is Shanna Doty! I'm from The Woodlands, Texas. I just recently moved back to Texas from North Carolina. Before starting to learn more about wedding and event planning I was a Cheer and Dance Coach at the college level in North Carolina. I have loved my experience so far in this class. I'm learning so much about what it takes to be a successful wedding planner. This project was great because it showed me exactly how much goes into planning a wedding. I had so much fun doing the research and looking at potential venues. It was a lot of work but it didn't feel like work because I was enjoying it! My inspiration for this project was Disney's The Princess and the Frog. I incorporated a 1920's New Orleans atmosphere while adding subtle Disney touches like the firefly centerpieces and signature drink!
