Updated: Thursday, October 12, 2017

My name is Francesca Martella, I reside in San Francisco, went to college in Sonoma CA. While in college I worked in various wineries dong events. I am interested in opening my own event company serving all over the world, specializing in full service weddings.

My project wedding was inspired by wine & food pairings along with lots of greenery and flowers. So of course I choose Napa Valley to be the background for my elevated garden wedding experience.

Project 1 CWEP

Posted By Shirley Trainor (Henry), Thursday, October 12, 2017

Hi My Name is Shirley Trainor and live in Brentwood, California. I have always enjoyed planning events for family and holiday gatherings. After being laid off by my employer after 16 plus years of service, a nephew suggested I do something that I love for my next career. I made the decision to start an Event Planning and Catering company. I researched and began making various attempts to learn what I needed to be a part of the Event Planning and Catering Industries. I have fulfilled some of the goals needed in the area of Catering and now I am working on the Event Planning. I learned about Lovegevity after attending a Catersource Conference. I am enrolled into the course and now learning about planning weddings.

My project 1 Mood Board inspiration came from my Niece. I asked her if she were to get married what kind of wedding would she have? Her response was a "Coming to America." wedding like in the movie that stars Eddie Murphy. When I began this assignment I knew very little about planning a wedding. I had a lot of anxiety from the on sight of looking  at all of the information that must be learned. Now that I am passed the anxiety, I am looking forward to learning all that I can about planning weddings, and events to help me make my company a success.

About me and CWEP Project 1

Posted By Alis Bell, Wednesday, October 11, 2017
Updated: Monday, November 13, 2017

Hello!

My name is Alli Bell and I live in Washington state. I knew from a very young age that I wanted to be a wedding planner but my family pushed me to pursue a career that involved working with animals. Right out of high school I started my first business as a horse trainer. I truly enjoyed being a trainer but I did end up in the ER a few times with concussions and my last fall from a horse caused me to have such a bad concussion that I lost some memory. I decided it was time to pursue something more safe and I remembered by dream of being a wedding planner so I did some research and found Lovegevity!

My project 1 actually focuses on my best friend and her fiancés wedding ideas! They have asked me to plan their wedding and I thought it would be a great idea to use it as my project 1. She wanted a country style wedding with sunflowers as her main wedding flower and burgundy as her wedding color. I helped come up with a lot of the decoration ideas as well as the yard games. The wedding is more laid back then most weddings but is still romantic and fun. Everything incorporated in the wedding is a true reflection of their life style and who they are. I had a lot of fun planning this and can't wait until I get to make this happen at my friends wedding!

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Angela Chereso, Wednesday, October 11, 2017

Hi! My name is Angela Chereso and I am based in Chicago IL. So far I am a little more than half way through the course and finishing up on project 2! As stressful as some of these projects/assignments have been because I am doing them with no prior wedding/event planning experience, I believe they have been very beneficial. Project 2 gave me a great overview of the process of creating my business and everything that goes into it. I had know clue the business aspects of event planning and have always thought and been more familiar with the creative side (thanks to pinterest!) so this project was a great eyeopener on things to considered before opening a business and what to do to stand out from other businesses. After this course I plan on taking a business class to further my education on owning your own business.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Lauren Heinfeld (Turner), Tuesday, October 10, 2017

I have been working in the event planning industry for over 8 years.  I started as an intern for a small church, planning their camp and summer activities for 50 students to now working as a full-time event planner, planning multiple events a year ranging from 10 people to 1,600 - all while managing interns and groups of volunteers up to 50.  I have worked with multiple vendors and venues, and I have been given the nickname “Organizational Ninja” because it suits me well.

This project made me step outside the box and really evaluate my talents and what I can do as a professional.  Pricing what I believe I'm worth was different because I've always let others define my worth with working in a hiring environment.  My mood board is a reflection of what I am focusing on - engaged couples excited about their future marriage and wedding.

I'm presenting what I believe are my strengths laced with a pressure to push myself beyond my talents as of now to be the best that I can be for the clients for which I'd be working.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Lan Tran, Tuesday, October 10, 2017

Hello all! My name is Lan Tran and I'm currently a student at the University of Texas at Arlington. My plans and goals after this class is to find an event planning company to work for and learn the whole process of planning events through them. I want to gain hands-on experience first before opening up my own business. This course has shown me new and creative ideas of how a business can work to planning events. This project took me quite awhile to work on but the experience made me realize how challenging it really is to plan a wedding.

The project that I decided to do was a wedding. This wedding is a spring wedding with the ceremony outside and the reception inside. The bride wants the colors to be slate blue and blush pink with a hint of cream and green. Although she wants a lot of flowers and the season is spring she doesn't want a lot of greenery incorporated.

CWEP Project 3

Posted By Kryshana Madrid, Monday, October 9, 2017
Updated: Monday, October 9, 2017

Happy Fall to you all!

I just completed project 3. Wow! So much happening in this project, where do I begin?? My concept for my grand opening is "celebration of sustainability". I incorporated local vendors, food educators, and a guest speaker that knows how to pull off eco-friendly weddings. This project had me learning more about my community and how I can give back as a business. It taught me how much work goes into a community event like this one. The A6 formula helped me stay organized throughout this process. Check out my mood board and website at https://kshana17.wixsite.com/kryshanamevents.

Happy Planning!

Project 1 CWEP

Posted By Daniel Guzman, Monday, October 9, 2017

Hi...I'am working on my Project 1 at this point. I am not very good with technology but I will try my best.  My plan in general will be rustic theme in a nice winery location in the southern California. I was looking the the student's samples from the previous semesters and they look great and very professional.  My plan it to create a great wedding event  with an average budget that really enhance in all aspects my client's needs and expectations. I really believe that simplicity and less is more elegant and sophisticated when it comes to special events.  I will try to follow this line the my best of my knowledge in order to develop the dream of my clients in to really.

Hello, my name is Stephanie Saller and I'm from Fort Worth,Texas.  My background is in Interior Design so I've always have had a knack for being creative. Six years ago I got married and planned my wedding and found that I had a passion for event planning. Through this course I hope to gain the confidence and experience that I need to succeed in my own business. Also to help connect with others that share the same passion as I do.

For this project, I decided to do Autumn base wedding in an outdoor setting for both the ceremony and reception. The hint of berry, navy and dust rose will help bring out the Fall atmosphere. With cafe lights and candles will help set a romantic fun night.
