The article "Marriage is Like Launching a Rocket" by Linda and Charlie Brown is about the challenges during the early stages of marriage. As they described, the first years can be challenging and overwhelming. The early stages requires too much work and energy. At the same time, it is necessary a lot of commitment and patience. CWEP Project 2

Posted By Monica Cruz Hernandez, Sunday, April 7, 2019

My name is Monica Cruz Hernandez. I am a Spanish teacher. I used to plan and host social events for my friends and family as a hobby. Eventually, my goal is to have my own business in the wedding industry and social events in general. I absolutely love this course. The assignments, projects, books and videos helps me to understand and learn more about this career.

This Project 2 is about my future company Illusion Weddings & Events. I made a professional presentation to sell my company and services to a new client. I provided relevant information about the company, such as the packages and services that we offer, details for the initial consultation, bridal profile questionnaire, marriage license, requirements to get married, checklists and ideas for pre and post wedding events.

I chose the Playlist Script Font and the color palette of blush pink, gray, white and gold to identify the logo of my company. The font and colors are elegant and timeless.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Tammi Joseph, Saturday, April 6, 2019

Hello, my name is Tammi Joseph and I currently work as a Senior Executive Assistant supporting the Vice President for a Fortune 200 Company.  In my current position, I am constantly planning corporate meetings which often requires a team dinner, the night before, team building activities and pre-defined full-service logistics the following day.  While wedding planning is not a personal goal of mine in the near future, can envision myself planning exclusive parties and special events at my leisure in Antigua, where I plan to retire.

The CWEP Course has provided me with additional training and insights to help me successfully navigate through planning events.  It has also provided me with the blueprint of what it really takes to execute an event from start to finish with practical assignments that I can utilize as a guide/template.

Events by Tammij will be a part time venture, where I can truly utilize my interests, passions, and personal experiences after retirement.  The utilization of a storefront will not be required, and minimal expenses will be needed for the launch of my business endeavor. I will make a one-time initial investment for the appropriate marketing website that informs my clients of all the services I plan to offer.

Assignment 18.6 blog contribution

Posted By Sarah Katani, Saturday, April 6, 2019

My name is Sarah Katani. I am from Plano, Texas and I am taking this course through Collin College. I currently work full time as an event planner assistant and previously have worked in customer service focused jobs. I became interested in events while I was in college. I planned a philanthropy event and then decided to change my major to hotel and restaurant administration and graduated college in May 2015! I have always loved decorating for parties.

This course has been great, it was very interesting for me having to adjust to homework and projects after almost four years. The experience has been awesome though, our instructor Shamica has been incredible! She is extremely knowledgeable in owning and operating your own business and has been able to give us so many tips that we can use. It has also been really neat getting to go on field trips and have guest speakers (vendors) come present to our class. The assignments and projects have been extremely helpful as well. Although they are sometimes tedious, they give a good perspective as to what we would actually have to do as an event planner! Overall, I would recommend this course and I have had a fabulous experience! Thank you Lovegevity and Shamica!

CWEP Project 2

Posted By JoDee Krotz, Saturday, April 6, 2019

I’m JoDee Krotz and my husband and I live in both Texas (and Iowa). Texas is our transition state as we move toward creating a seasonal wedding and events venue in Montrose, Iowa, named: 1884 On The Bluff.

The project I’m presenting is a working draft of what will ultimately forward to a web professional and become our venue website. The photos were taken of the venue property and of models we hired for a stylized photo shoot, with a professional local photographer, at a party we had last October themed “Celebrate Before We Renovate.” As we’ve not yet renovated, we’ve a vast amount of mood boards to create. However, for this project, I will create a mood board from the images we have from the venue.

We hold a passion, high standards and have a knack for attention to detail as we work toward managing this large transition, renovation, and building a company from two different states. I’ve worked harder than I ever thought I would in the CWEP course and enjoyed every aspect of this certification process more than I thought I would as well. I know the knowledge gained will alleviate areas of stress and surprise as we move forward to create memorable weddings. One of our customer service goals will be to completely transparent and therefore trustworthy, avoiding any unnecessary stress and disappointments. We want to satisfy our customer’s vision of their big day to the fullest!

I was medication aide at assisted living in California and now I am working as a CNA at nursing home.  My biggest influence in taking these course  as a wedding and event planner are my friends that are Asian American and married as well.  They are asking me for help to decorate for their ceremonies and reception.

I'm planning for our 10th year anniversary/Renew vow at the church. I am thinking of summer wedding.  Tables and chairs that are covered in white. center table fresh flower vases, surrounded by fresh flowers. I can make or customized favors such as tote bag for bridesmaid give away and for the guests favors I ‘am thinking of champagne glasses and coasters. Catering style will consist of Asian Food, Mediterranean, and American dish. The picture taking would be on top of the mountain after the ceremony concludes. Some of the decorations I found or I’m going to order from online. I even added this to my photo.  Additionally, light bulbs hanging on the canopy.

My experience from this course is to plan a wedding and how to coordinate with the vendors. I learned so much from doing this project.  I want to achieve and excel in planning a wedding event, and open my own business in the near future.

18.6 Assignment

Posted By Constance Gamboa, Wednesday, April 3, 2019

Hello everyone!

I am attending the course at Colin College Plano TX.  I am a Chicago born and raised native relocated to Texas for the desire of more adventures in autumn 2014 and to no longer deal with those wicked winters! LOL

I have to say this was a lot more work than I thought it would be!   I have been a certified travel agent and working in the travel industry for the past 28 years.  I have always had the desire and knack for booking meetings & groups and wanted to add the additional certification to my resume.  I am not disappointed in the curriculum one bit!  If you can book a wedding you can most assuredly book any type of event.  The details that go into every bit was an eye opener and I could not be more pleased with the outcome of taking this course.

I am very excited to get myself going and branching out into the greater hospitality field of event planning.  My quote is and always be "life's a dream, make it eventful"

Abbey Colvin Project 2

Posted By Abbey Colvin, Tuesday, April 2, 2019

Here at Sinclair Events are goal is to Provide seamless style, comprehensive planning and practical solutions to ensure an unforgettable experience for your wedding day.  With attention to detail and flawless execution, we are dedicated to providing our clients with a day to remember.

Sinclair Events is a full service event planning company that provides consultation services for Wedding and Corporate Events.  Our associates are experienced and dedicated with multiple years of experience.  Sinclair Events is focused on listening to their clients and working with them to give them the event of their dreams.  Our services include weddings, receptions, budget planning, honeymoons, corporate and various other events.

We are a full-service wedding and event planning company.  Sinclair Events offers two different packages.  The two packages that will be offered is Partial Planning and Month of Coordination.  We will offer vendor recommendation, design proposals, and rehearsal coordination.

Professional wedding planners are a commodity because almost $35 billion are spent every year on weddings and receptions.  Sinclair Events offers a variety of services to clients.  We are able to cater our packages to our clients needs.  This industry is all about word of mouth.  By planning one wedding you have come in contact with over 100 potential clients.

We have a very simple strategy at Sinclair Events and that is to provide our clients with the service to meet their needs by customizing packages to fit their needs.  Our associates can help clients that need full service planning or Month of Coordination.

Two consultants make up the Sinclair Events team, Abbey Colvin and her mom Paige Jessee. Combined they have planned over 50 weddings, reception, and other events.  They have knowledge in all aspects of the planning process including planning, design, and budgeting.  Abbey has a BS in Marketing and has been a wedding consultant for two years and became interested in event planning after planning events at work and weddings for multiple family and friends.  Since then, Abbey has continued her education and gained her certification in Wedding and Event Planning.  Paige has a BS in Communications and started working at Kings Dominion as the Special Event Coordinator and was there for eight years.  Paige has been planning events for over 15 years now and enjoys all aspects of the planning process.

At Sinclair Events we did not have to pay for our website or branding because it was created internally.  Therefore, that saved us a lot of money during start-up.  We are expecting to book 3 events in 2019, which would average around $6,000 if all of the weddings all full packages.  During the first couple years we have a goal of booking 8 weddings starting in 2020 because Paige and Abbey will still have a full time job as well as wedding planning.

CWEP - Project 2: Selling Your Services

Posted By Eriqa Burson, Tuesday, April 2, 2019

Events By Eriqa is a wedding planning and design business started in Chesterfield, Virginia in 2018. As an owner, I started out with just planning, but soon realized that I had a passion for design as well. So, I decided to incorporate it into my business and assist with planning when needed. My mission is to ensure that clients have the event or wedding that they have always dreamed of. We plan to accomplish this by meeting with our clients several times throughout the planning and design process to ensure that everything is being done to their liking.

We offer multiple wedding and event packages to give our clients a variety of options to make sure that we meet all of their demands. Our packages range from us only providing a “roadmap” for couples who would like to plan their own wedding/event, to us fully planning and designing everything from start to finish. There are also customizable packages that allows our staff and clients to pick and choose when/what services to use. In addition, our other services include proposal planning, engagement and bachelor/bachelorette parties, bridal showers, social soirees, special events, and creating “Day Of” emergency kits.

While some businesses focus on a specific group or specific class of people, my business is inclusive of everyone because people are always looking to plan the event of a lifetime. My marketing plan targets everyone. Due to the variety of services offered, there is something for people of all ages. However, our specialties are in weddings and corporate events. I plan to advertise my business through word-of-mouth, in local bridal magazines, and on social media. Not only will this allow me to have diversity among my client base, but it will help expand my business and experience.

Despite offering a variety of services, there are several aspects that set us apart from our competitors. Our clients are our number one priority and we pride ourselves on that. Meeting with our clients on a regular basis is important to us. Others may prefer to only have an initial consultation and then additional meetings as needed. We make sure that we meet with our clients throughout the length of time that they will be using our services to ensure that we have exceeded their expectations. We also design custom props for our clients for their special days. One thing that most of our clients do is show us mood boards on Pinterest or different things that they’ve found online. As a result, we are in the process of creating a partnership with Lowe's so that we can make some of the props that our clients want to have for their wedding/event. The last thing that sets us apart from our competition is that we take time out of the year every year to attend conferences and other networking events so that we can stay up-to-date on the changes being made in the industry. This also includes taking any additional classes to further our knowledge so that we are well versed in the information that we can provide for our clients. .

The company goal for the next year is to continue to grow in the industry while expanding our client base. In the next 5 years, I would like to become certified to plan/design corporate events. Weddings and Corporate events will be our main focus during busy season and other events will be offered throughout the year. In 10 years, I see the company still doing all of the weddings/events that are offered. This way we can stay on top of all of our work while still maintaining a high client base. I foresee Events By Eriqa as being one of the top well-known businesses in Virginia.

CWEP PROJECT #2

Posted By Ruth Cantarero, Tuesday, April 2, 2019

Hello everyone! My name is Ruth Cantarero and I live in Hempstead, Texas. I have a Bachelor's Degree in International Business & Marketing. I am currently working for a venue in Brenham, Texas. I love to work with Brides and clients that are looking to have their dreamed event. I have been doing it with passion, but did not know if I was doing it correctly. I am currently taking the Wedding & Event Planner class at Lovegevity and have really enjoyed learning the right way to plan and interact with Brides and other clients. This class has helped me a lot and also has challenged me to take the time that needs to be invested in every client. Also, has given me more resources and tools that will make the planning process easier and organized as a planner.

My moodboard for Project #2 shows a color template that I will be used for my website. Vintage pink and mint color  with Lobster font will be used to give a touch of fancy and also peace to the clients when they look at my website. This resembles that we will handle everything and they only need to worry about enjoying their special day. The picture of a couple showcases how happy they look at the beginning of their journey. Since the name of the company is Beautiful Bereschit, meaning Beautiful Beginning in Hebrew, the pictures of flowers and the color palette used will let the client know that this is our primary goal.
