Updated: Friday, October 18, 2019

hi

Im Sheeba, living in middle east and i used to organize my friends birthday parties, farewell parties for them ,just to kill the time but gradually i realized that arranging these little things for my loved ones made me so happy, i love to see people being happy n cherishing their beautiful memorable moments together , it made me think that i should start giving this beautiful services in a proper way .Having an MBA degree and by enrolling in Lovegivity university i can pursue my passion of making people's day memorable.

In our tradition as a Pakistani,we celebrate our weddings in a very grand manner with at least 4 grand  events in a row, with usually having 4 different themes, will try to make all 4 mood board but the first one is called "BARAT" where the bride say farewell to her parents and starts a new life with her groom. So usually the colors are bright in Pakistan like Reds or Maroons or Magenta with loads of gold work n groom matches his "Sherwani" with the bride's dress using either Black,White or Gold.

Here's my first project CWEP Project 1

Project 1

Posted By Allison E. Shragal, Saturday, October 5, 2019

Hi There

My name is Allie and I am from Chicago. I am excited to focus more on event planning and gain more knowledge.  It is one of my goals to gain more experience in the industry.  This project taught me alot about bugdeting and how important it is to make your clients happy.  Doing vendor research and having great relationships with them are also extremely important in this business.  You need to be organized and working as a team for everything to go smoothly.

A fundraiser for the Amazon Smile Foundation, presenting my idea to the foundation committee.  This foundation donates to a charity of the amazon customers choice when making a purchase.  Amazon will then donate 0.5% of the price of eligible purchases to the charitable organizations. They are throwing a fundraising event in Chicago by selling tickets for the event that they will handle with online sales.I want the event hashtag to be #shareyoursmile when photos from the event are being posted to social media to gain attention to the foundation. The signature detail at this event is the different photo booths all over the venue for everyone to explore, enjoy and share on social media. The event is going to have a fun, elegant, and upbeat atmosphere. The music will match the upbeat tone of the party. The dj will play a wide variety of of genres such as R&B, hip hop, pop, country, and classic rock.Attendees will be dressed in casual cocktail attire. The thank you gift for attendees will be popsockets, devices that attach to the back of your phone so you can easily take a selfie.  Incorporating into the photography theme that is throughout the event.

"Mila and Evan" (Project 1)

Posted By Jessica Rentz, Saturday, October 5, 2019
Updated: Monday, October 7, 2019

Hi! My name is Jessica Rentz and I am from Ontario, CA. I originally went to school for Psychology and I am currently a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for Kaiser Permanente in Fontana, CA. I am looking to possibly take a different path in my career at this time, to allow myself to be more creative and do something that I am passionate about. I am absolutely loving this Certified Wedding and Event Planner Course and can get lost in the assignments and tasks for hours. I am also enjoying the hands-on experiences that I have had the opportunity to work on with our professor, Rebecca Calagna.

For Project One, I present to you the case study of “Mila and Evan.” Evan proposed to Mila in December 2018 and they will be married on October 12, 2019 amongst the beautiful gardens of the Padua Hills Theatre in Claremont, CA. Their wedding theme is a combination of Rustic and Boho-Chic elements and they have chosen several different earth tones for a peaceful color palate. Mila and Evan are both passionate about being outdoors. The grounds of the Padua Hills Theatre already possess such natural beauty, that not much more is needed in the area of decor. We beautifully combined elements of Rustic, Boho-Chic themes, the soft glow of Edison lights and candlelight, natural wood finishes, trees draped with long flowing panels of soft organza, and long family-style tables with center garlands of peonies, roses, and eucalyptus. In the mood board below, you will see examples of some of the elements that reflect the style of their wedding.

Cheers!

Jessica Rentz

Project 2 Mood Board and Blog

Posted By Lisa Blough, Thursday, October 3, 2019
Updated: Thursday, October 3, 2019

My name is Lisa Blough and I am very happy to have completed my Project 2.  I am beginning a wedding planning service north of Atlanta near Gainesville, GA.  I have found in my research that we do not have a lot of planners in our area.  I will provide consulting, day of coordination and full planning.  I have started working for the past month with a wedding planner that has over 20 years of experience.  I am working as her assistant and that is giving me valuable training while I am completing my certification course.

I found this project to be challenging yet really helpful.  It forced me to get together marketing materials, think about my pricing structure, contracts and everything I need to get started in business.  It is truly a relief to have all of that complete and ready to go whenever I get my first client.

For my marketing material I want to have clean but pretty materials. I want to use light pastels in pink and blue and have gold accents as my logo is wedding bands.  I used a pastel pink band at the top of most of my marketing material but for my logo I prefer to keep it simple in color to keep my cost down.

I am also marketing myself as a boutique planner meaning I will only accept a certain number of clients each year to ensure top notch client service.  I added this as a tagline for my logo.

CWEP Project 1.3

Posted By Tauren R. Tado, Thursday, October 3, 2019

Hi!

My name is Tauren. I'm 19 and have always had a love for planning and organizing. I decided to finally go into studying for wedding and event planning after a year of consideration. So now, I present my first mood board!

I picked a mauve and green floral and elegant mood board for my first project. I love the way that the colors compliment each other naturally. In my opinion, setting these two colors together can create a soothing and beautiful atmosphere for the wedding party to enjoy.

Course Review

Posted By Madeline Parker, Wednesday, October 2, 2019
I'll be honest, I find the first half of this course more helpful than the second. I don't plan on launching my own business right away, so all of the marketing and networking is a bit overwhelming. I know that the tools provided are extremely valuable, so I try to absorb them for the future. I attached the logo that I created when we got our first assignment using Canva. It is exciting to have an imaginary company that could someday become a reality. For now, I would like to work under an experienced wedding planner to gain hands on experience in the field. I believe that my studies in this course will give me an advantage over others who have chosen the "street smarts" route. I really needed a lot of this information to be successful, and I would absolutely recommend this course to anyone who wishes to thrive in the wedding industry.

Mood Board

Posted By Jasmine Hughes, Tuesday, October 1, 2019
Updated: Tuesday, October 1, 2019

Hello Everyone! My name is Jasmine Hughes and I am from Mckinney,Tx. I currently am the manager of a clothing store but have hopes to work for Disney Fairytale weddings someday. I just graduated last December and thought this course would be a good step for me to take to achieve my career goals. I had a lot of fun doing this project and have had a positive experience in the course thus far. My wedding that I designed was for a couple that enjoyed whimsical signature touches and featured the brides feminine flair.

My couples name's were Tanya and Josh. They met fall 2015 in their college math class. Finally, on September 30, 2016 they went on their first date. After a few months of dating they both knew this was it. Josh proposed at Walt Disney World in Magic Kingdom, and of course, she said yes!  The couple is looking forward to their future together. They are both big Disney fans and look forward to sharing this whimsical touch throughout their wedding.

Tanya and Josh both come from different backgrounds and moved to McKinney, TX for work. They both have expressed how important it is for their love of botany and Disney to be included throughout their event. They are both looking for several unique touches to be included in their ceremony and reception.  The wedding is semi-formal scattered full of feminine details. The wedding will be held with 30 of the couple’s favorite people in the spring at Disney’s wedding pavilion in Florida.

As their wedding planner I communicated their desires through whimsical details and fun personal touches throughout. After the ceremony we will transition to Disney’s Yacht and Beach club for the reception. The fun design elements are sure to be a crowd pleaser.

Quinceanera

Posted By Jennifer Ruth Carlson, Tuesday, October 1, 2019

Hi,

I'm Jennifer Carlson.  I grew up in Arlington, TX and live in the north Dallas area.  I've worked in supply chain most of my life, but had the opportunity to study and work in Mexico several times.  I'm hoping to have an event venue business with my husband, specializing in quinceaneras and Latin-focused events.  We are both bilingual and bicultural, and feel like that niche is missing where we live.

I've learned so much already in class, reading and doing this project.  Boy, it took a lot longer than I thought!  It's been really informative and eye-opening!

My project is a quinceanera, a coming out party for when a girl turns 15 and becomes an adult.  It has quite a few traditions, and I've chosen to do a typical one here for North Texas, which is less traditional than one might be in Mexico.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Yana Ong, Tuesday, October 1, 2019

Hi,

My name is Yana Ong. I'm originally from Indonesia. I've moved to US for more than 20 years, have been in Dallas for more than 14 years. I'm currently working as a programmer, which is the field I graduated from. I grew to love the wedding industry when I planned my own wedding about 13 years ago. I enjoyed the whole planning process and I since then have helped with many of my church's events (special Christmas and food festivals, and baby showers) and planned my own daughters' birthday parties. It gave me joy to see the result after long detail planning process.

I've been learning a lot from the Certified Wedding and Event Planner course, especially in the business aspect of it. and for this project, I'm forced to think carefully of each details needed to be presented at a wedding.

I'm doing an intimate church wedding with a beautiful garden enough to accommodate the couple's families and close friends.

CWEP Project 1

Updated: Monday, September 30, 2019

Hi my name is Ashten Burnell.  I am originally from southern California, but have been living in Dallas area for the last 13 years.  All of the work that I have previously done has all been in the food industry.  I've worked in a grocery store, for Starbucks, as a cook at a lodge in a resort town, and now I am a cake decorator for a local bakery.  After getting a certificate in wedding and event planning, I plan to open up a wedding venue with my sister, somewhere in a mountainy area, where we can plan and put together weddings for people.

have been learning a lot from this course, and this first project has taught me a lot and opened my eyes up of what all actually goes into planning a wedding.  I was thinking it was going to be a breeze, but this project had me thinking of every detail that I could not miss to ensure a beautiful wedding.

This project would most represent how I would like my dream wedding to be.  Of course, I am not getting married anytime soon, nor am I engaged, so I created a couple that most closely resembles my boyfriend and I.  I wanted the wedding to be sophisticated, yet still charming, relaxing, unique, and allowing everyone to have a good time.  I am in love with the mountains and fall is my favorite season, so I wanted to incorporate everything that would wrap around that.  I created a wedding that is classy, but can still feel like a mountain retreat for all my guests.  All the guests should be able to feel laid back and not feel stuffy.

Our brand purpose is to "Create events that elevate love, friendship and life's milestones. Look West is Elegant, Welcoming, Thoughtful and Holistic. Our band colors are a combination of Raspberry, Blush, Ivory, Navy and Black. Our mood/vibe/ethos is Elegant and Refined meets Warm and Welcoming.

I elaborated on these brand elements by explaining how they ultimately differentiate Look West from the competition, and benefit our clients. Everything about the brand ultimately comes back to providing exceptional service to the client.

3) Our clients are brides and grooms with BUSY lives, who want to create a personalized wedding or event experience that they and their guests will fully enjoy. Their budget is typically $25k - $50k. My daughter is getting married next year and she is my inspiration for this board.  Getting involved in the planning has been quite an exciting and unique experience that I am so happy to share with her. Her venue is a rustic barn perfect for what she is looking for. From the lighting to the farm tables and the wine barrel bar, it is breathtaking.  The scenery and outdoor space are ideal for pictures and truly evoke romance and infinite bliss.

"Sore Spots" Blog Article Review (Relationship Education)

Posted By Jessica Rentz, Saturday, September 28, 2019

The article that I chose to read for the Relationship Education Blog Article Review was titled "Sore Spots" by Linda and Charlie Bloom. This article was very informative in regards to the "hurts" and "sensitivities" that we have as humans and how easily some of them may be triggered by unsuspecting (or sometimes suspecting) partners. The article shows that these sore spots often are created from childhood experiences that have never been fully healed or dealt with and consequently, we drag them into our current lives and interactions with our loved ones. Like a physical wound that is not fully healed, any tampering and we respond oftentimes defensively to protect ourselves. The article discussed the importance of self awareness, healing, and communicating these wounds and needs to our partners to prevent ongoing hurt, defensiveness, and unhealthy interactions.

CWEP Assignment 1.3

Posted By Kendra Dougherty, Thursday, September 26, 2019

Hello All,

My name is Kennah and I am currently work for an Asset Tracking company. Don't let this fool you as my over-all goal is to own an event venue for all types of events (wedding, birthdays, anniversaries, baby showers, etc)! Which lead me to take this course.

For this board, imagine a couple that finally had the right timing, after years of missing one another. They decided on a spring Country-Chic wedding at home.  A picturesque county setting, with soft colors and string lights. They want fun yards games to help occupy the little ones and bottle key openers to help keep the adults busy. The soft white tones keep what the colors the groom wanted while the darker tones appease the bride and bring together a beautiful color scheme.

CWEP - Project 1

Posted By Tiffany Peng, Thursday, September 26, 2019
Hi everyone,
I am planning an event for my clients with a relaxed bohemian wedding in April 2020. I will have a distinct soft and romantic feel that is earthy and inspired by nature and the beautiful outdoors. Light liens, earthy details, and a variety of floral centerpieces and greenery installations can help my ideas to transform the traditional reception into a bohemian style wedding. Featuring all things ethereal, earthly and exquisite, there will be my bohemian wedding inspiration for them.

CWEP - Project 1

Posted By Marcela Romero, Thursday, September 26, 2019
Hi everyone! My name is Marcela, I am in Southwest Florida. I've been managing fundraising and nonprofit events for the past seven years. I now want to become independent and have my own event planning business. I want to offer a vast array of event services, but I want to focus on weddings. This course has been very interesting and given me a lot of insight about the wedding and event planning industry. This project was a great way to get the creativity flowing and getting a feel of what the first stages of planning an event are like. In this project, I am assisting a couple that met in college and want to have a beach wedding. The couple is very laidback and always like to have a good time.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Ansley E. Read, Wednesday, September 25, 2019

Good evening, My name is Ansley Read and I run a business called ,”As you wish wedding & Events”. A little  bit about myself before I continue to talk about my newly engaged couple I am lucky to assist in their”forever endeavors”.I’ll explain what the air quotes are for a little later. I was born and raised here in Jacksonville Florida.I have been a licensed cosmetologist for four years ,but I also have a lot of passion for other things like body piercing & abstract art. My love for art and my eye for color has opened my eyes to the idea of becoming a wedding and event planner. As your wedding and event planner I strive to do one thing; create a memorable occasion both big or small , As you wish for you to look back on forever.

I am here to tell you about my clients Harrison and Shannon. Here’s their story!Harrison and Shannon met through a mutual friend over social media., chatted for a bit and decided to finally meet. Over chips, salsa and a couple wholesome horror movies, they hit it off. Not the most interesting story, but to them, it means everything. From the late night iHOP dates, to long awaited calls to each other while Harrison hiked the Appalachian Trail, traveling together, and even becoming cat parents.. every new experience together has been wonderful one for them, but they are looking forward to a future that has yet begun. In their “forever endeavors”, is what they love to say to one another. January 9th of 2019, when the sun was set, in Destin fl, Harrison got on one knee and what Shannon said next..she said YES!!

My clients Shannon and Harrison are having a semi-formal garden wedding that’s taking place in  the spring on April 25th of 2020. Their holding their event at the Cummer Museum in the beautiful riverside area of Downtown Jacksonville, they love the location for they live over there too! My guests wanted to hold their event where they can all sit next to each other with gorgeous scenery surrounding them in the Cummer Museum gardens .My clients would like a mix of whimsical and rustic feel, with woodsy elements and pops of fairytale galore. The Brides dress with an A-line silhouette that’s fitted to her waist and gracefully drapes with a little train and an illusion mesh back that dips ever so slightly. The colors for the wedding and of the flowers will be of a cream and blush palette of hues. The groom doesn’t really enjoy  sweets, so the bride and groom decided on having savory donuts prepared by a local bakery in riverside they often stop by and grab a baked good or two.The parking at the cummer can be a huge issue so we had the parking reserved over where R.A.M.(Riverside arts market is held) and right across where the museum is located too.

CWEP Assignment 1.3

Posted By Regina Holmes, Wednesday, September 25, 2019
Updated: Friday, September 27, 2019

Hello LWEI Family :)

My name is Regina Holmes. I currently live Stafford VA.  I am now following my dream and exploring my passion for creating beautiful atmospheres.  I've enjoyed fashion and decorating all my life, but did not realize that it was my God- given gift and passion until (like most raising children and took care of family first) I finally took the time to explore where I was, what excites me the most and  what I wanted in my life. Now that my children are grown and we are finally empty nesters, I am pursuing that yearning that has been in my bones!

A few years ago, I received my certification as an Interior Decorator and now like you, I am studying to receive my certification as a Wedding and Events Planner and also my certification in Corporate Events. I finally started my event business named Branches Events & Decor' and I currently have several weddings and events under my belt, but I feel it is very necessary to have the education to go along with the experience that I have gained thus far.  I am very excited about taking this course and I take the time to go thru each lesson as if I am fresh out of the box.  My ultimate goal is to acquire a great building where I can host all types of event :).

For this project, I am planning an event for a couple who enjoys simple, but classic elegance with attention to details. Their wedding is taking place in the evening at 5pm on July 3, 2020.  Their color palette is blush, ivory and a hint of burgundy.  The guest list will consist of 150 people. Their ceremony will be taking place on a balcony overlooking a lake, the grounds below has beautiful lush landscaping all around. The centerpieces will be all high crystal glass and silver candelabras with fresh florals and candle lighting all throughout the entire venue. Cocktail hour will consist of staffed bar attendants and hor'dourves being rotated by the servers, while the dinner will be buffet style. There will be lots of entertainment and they will close the night with beautiful fireworks!

CWEP Project 1

Updated: Wednesday, November 13, 2019

Hi everyone I’m Lacey! I live in Spotsylvania, Va. I was working full time for a retail merchandising company and just recently switched to working from home so I can spend more time with my kids. I’ve always been creative and have loved planning parties so I’m using this course to broaden my knowledge of the industry so I can eventually turn my passion into a lifelong career. My goal is to create joy in someone else’s life by helping them create an event that exceeds their dreams of what they had envisioned.
So far this class has given me very knowledgeable information about the wedding and event industry including our amazing instructor sharing her experiences as a wedding and event planner. I greatly enjoy this class and I can’t wait to be able to take everything I’ve learned into a new chapter of my life.

For my clients I am planning a southern rustic fall wedding with burgundy and yellow colors. They picture the ceremony taking place on a farm or a vineyard. They both love sunflowers and roses so those will be a recurring theme throughout all their decor items. They also want it to be very family oriented as family is important to them. I’m hoping to create a down home country feel with southern charm for them. So I hope you guys enjoy it!

-Lacey
