Project 2

Posted By Jasmine Hughes, Monday, October 14, 2019

Hello everyone! My name is Jasmine and I hope to be a Disney wedding planner some day. This class has been super fun for me and I have really enjoyed it. While I don't want to run my own business this class has still been super helpful for me and I have learned a lot. The moodboard below is what my website and logo would look like if I were to run my own business. I love light and airy aesthetics and my website reflects that well. The blush pink and ivory add a feminine flair without being overbearing.

The article I read was titled "Speculations, Assumptions and Projections" by Linda and Charlie Bloom  This article got to the heart of an issue I think we all have in relationships and that is doing these 3 things.  We undermine our partners by making speculations about what they feel or assuming we know what they need, want or feel and then projecting our ideas onto them.

They explain that assumptions are speculations from our minds driven by a bias towards our perspective that may or may not be accurate.  They go on to show us that if in our relationships we will be curious and open to seeing what is actually going on with our partner, instead of confusing our own imaginings with reality, then we will learn to understand their perspective.  As they say....don't be a SAP.  Be open to learning, listening and hearing instead of forming our own opinions.

project ##1. Plan an event

Posted By Tonya C. Sutton, Sunday, October 13, 2019
Updated: Tuesday, October 22, 2019

Hello Everyone,

This is my project on planning an event. This event was a pretty simple one. The bride already knew where she wanted to have the wedding and the reception. It was a we still do over. All I had to do was help with the colors, flowers, the menu, the dress. The bride had chosen a beautiful golf course in Virginia. The wedding where the I do's would take place would be outside near the back stairs facing the course where the white gazebo would be placed with sheer curtains and flowers. The flowers were beautiful they went with the colors chosen nicely. They were purple and Malibu orchids with white fresh roses.

The table settings  had white tablecloths and a purple runners for the middle. It was paired  with medium, small and tall vases with the orchids place inside with water beads, water and floating candles at the top. On the tables you would find a water and champagne flute glass. A place setting with name on a elegant card , a silver charger with a dinner and salad plate. The napkins were place in a diamond holder beside each plate. The chairs were placed with white spandex covers with the purple tied bows.

The bride had two dressing one fitted strapless dress with a low cut back with a long train. One was a simple white with a diamond belt and low back .The groom would be wearing a gray tux with 3 buttons down with white shirt silver cuff links a Malibu tie with black shoes. The groomsmen would follow with a gray tux with a purple tie, cufflinks, and black shoes everyone will have a matching orchid wrap with a small white rose to the left side.

The matron of honor will have a long sleeveless purple dress with split on the side kris cross back with silver toe out sandals. The bridemaids will all have purple dresses with similar designs. The junior  bridemaids will have shorter dresses with the same lace sleeveless design in Malibu color and silver shoes.

The bar was a open cash bar with a signature drink of the brides choice Rum punch. The food was catered by a well known locate business in town. They Had servers and had 3 menus to choose from which was great fit prefect with the elegant theme.  The bride also had a treat table for the cake and also had mini shot desserts . This was a night to remember from the entire, food, desserts, and the special moments I would hit replay myself .

CWEP Project 1: Plan an Event

Posted By Kendra Dougherty, Sunday, October 13, 2019

Hello All!

My Name is Kennah Buckaloo and I work for an asset tracking company. After helping plan a few weddings, I decided it was best take the next steps and become certified, so I could do what I love full-time!

So please meet Tammy and Gavin! These love birds have known each other a long while, but the timing was never right. Then in 2018 they found a way to one another and got engaged in 2019. Tammy's dream was to keep all dates the same (dating, engagement, and marriage), to keep it as simple as possible. So on April 30, 2020 they will tie the knot!

After checking out a few venues they decided to go with The Venue at Waterstone in Celina, Texas. This venue was the easiest for their friends and family to get to and fit the theme they wanted! They decided to go with Rustic, Chic, as they both grew up in a small-town on a farm! the Bride will be wearing an off the should A-line lace dress with 3/4 sleeves. She wanted the Bridesmaids to match the color pallet but choose a dress they were comfortable in, as long as it was floor length. The Groomsmen will be wearing khaki pants, white button-up shirts, and rose-gold suspends with oxford style shoes. The Groom will wear almost the exact but with a khaki vest to match the pants.

The Boutonnieres will be kept simple with baby's breath and the bridesmaids will have roses with baby's breath. The Bride will do a half-up/half-down hairstyle and will have a rose gold earrings to match her rose gold ring. She will keep her makeup simple and elegant as well.

The couple chose rustic invitation to send out to the guests, with the RSVPs to match. When arriving at the venue you will cross a bridge that will be lined with mason jars with white flowers and mosquito repellent. Upon entering you will sign the two guest books (one is sign-a heart and drop it in the frame; the other is a bucket list for the couple). The guests will enter the ceremony area: you will see whiskey barrels on either side of the entry to the aisle, the aisle will be a burlap runner will mason jars and white flowers, and the arch will be simple with flowers and tulle to add a touch of elegance.

After the ceremony the guests will go to the reception area and the bar will open! It will be a stocked bar with liquor, beer, and wine. there will be mason jars and whiskey barrels through out the reception as decor. the centerpieces will be wood slices with mason jars painted to match the color scheme and flowers matching the Bride's Bouquet. The food will be in a buffet style (TBD) with pie tins for the guests to use as plates. The dessert will be a single tier cake on a stand with cupcakes underneath.

To keep the guests entertained their will be a photo booth and yard games: Corn hole, horseshoes, ring toss, and Giant Jenga, and dancing! to finish off the night the couple will exit though bubbles to go on their Honeymoon!

WEP Project 2

Posted By Michele M. Foust, Friday, October 11, 2019

Hello, my name is Michele Foust and I live in a small city northeast of Dallas.  I am currently working for a large specialty chemical company as the Global Supply Chain Deliver Operational Excellence, Senior Manager.  In this role, I manage strategic projects, mergers and acquisitions, training and process governance.  My goal for 2020 is to open my own event planning company, specializing in unique themed events.

I am excited to introduce my new company, Envious Events.  We will be using a simple color scheme of blues and our logo will be a circle with bubbles, much like popping champagne at a great party.

I am in week 6 and have learned about pricing, marketing, business planning and great information to help me set-up my own company.

CWEP Project 2

Hello, my name is Ashten Burnell.  I have only worked in the food industry, and am starting to move forward to my dream career... wedding planning!  My sister and I want to go into the business together at some point, and eventually have a venue together.  Being in this course so far has taught me a lot, and has really made me pay attention to details.  There is a lot more to planning in order to make a dream wedding come true than some may have thought.  In addition, with learning all the details, it has helped me really think of what I need to start my business and brand myself.  In project two, I have went over everything from my about statement, marketing strategies, services, package deals, contracts, payment schedules, cancellation fees, wedding checklists, and the bridal questionnaire.  My mood board is showing the color scheme I envision for my website and brand, the main font, how may logo may look, and how my website template may look.

My target customer is from the U.S. looking for a destination wedding or simple looking to spend less without compromising the quality of event they want. We offer great customer service and spectacular views of the Pacific ocean at a fraction of what would cost in the U.S. We are only 35 minutes away from San Diego and 45 minutes from the famous wine country in Guadalupe Valley. Casa Matriarca as a named my venue its a Spanish style home giving my client the experience of old colonial Mexico with a modern elegant atmosphere. My venue is located next to Hotel Calafia where U.S. tourist and visitors from other parts of the Mexico come and stay. Guest booking their wedding day with us can have guest stay at the hotel without leaving to far from our venue.I plan to promote my business with 2 road billboards and business cards placed at front store's of my vendor's businesses. Another way I will advertise my business is using social media, such as, Instagram, Facebook, Yelp. I will participate in all the seasonal festivals that bring thousands of tourist and locals each year. Hiring a PR to promote my business in San Diego can bring me more customers. Radio stations in San Diego broadcast and promote businesses from Baja in San Diego area. There are many places to select for weddings in my area, but what will separate me us from the competition would be the top quality service from our staff. Also, our small venue will make them feel at home and cater to clients that want an intimate wedding and excellent customer service. In the next 5 years our business will want to branch out by offering unique floral design. Having the right people working for me and creating a team will allowed me to focus on branching out with floral design. Cupid’s Arrow CWEP project 1

Posted By Victoria Alexander, Thursday, October 10, 2019
Updated: Thursday, October 10, 2019

I am Victoria Alexander I graduated from Florence Darlington Technical College with an associates degree in Marketing and Management. I am currently twenty years old and found an interest in wedding planning after helping with a few of my friends weddings.

This young couple from a small town in the South wanted a rustic and vintage wedding. I chose these decorations because, the mason jars give with the antique frame give this couple the vintage look. The mostly wood look with a white writing gives the couple the more rustic look they were hoping for. The colors of the wedding were a light peach with a touch of red throughout.

This wedding is taking place in the early fall in a small town. The ceremonies will take place at 4:00pm the reception will follow with food, drinks and dancing.

Project 1 - Mood Board

Posted By Gabrielle Carter, Wednesday, October 9, 2019

I’m Gabrielle. I graduated from Radford University with a B.S. in Design Management with minors in Business Management, Entrepreneurship, and Marketing. I have a passion for traveling, fashion, and event design. I decided to take the CWEP course to have better knowledge of event planning and design and prepare myself to start my own business and brand. CWEP is one of a few courses I am going to take. I’m also interested in the Fashion Show Production and Event Design courses to help me have a better knowledge of the industry.

Project 1 – Mood Board

For this ceremony the couple wanted a romantic and glamorous style while not being too flashy. The romantic scenery of Paris and Italy’s architecture serves as inspiration for this ceremony. The colors are deep burgundy and gold accented with white and black. This color pallet provides a sultry and soft glamorous look.

CWEP Project 1 Mood Board

Posted By Grace Cheng, Tuesday, October 8, 2019
Hi I am Grace Cheng. I have always wanted to experience hosting and planning an event. This course has taught me so many techniques and also provides helpful templates for me to plan in the future. For my project 1, I choose to plan a rustic wedding style to create a romantic and memorable wedding. After searching many venues, the vibe and location of Muckenthaler Mansion perfectly fits my expectation. It is simple but I also able to put up the rustic design. I picked dusty rose, white, slightly dusty and gold to incorporate the lavender theme.

My name is Louie Scott, Jr. I am currently an event coordinator for the City of Dallas and hope to branch out to create my own event planning business, louie by design (all lower case). My background prior to joining the City was in hotel management were I served as a General Manager for Marriott. "On the Arrow Events and Wedding Planning" (Project 2)

Posted By Jessica Rentz, Monday, October 7, 2019

Hello everyone!

Below is my Mood Board for Project 2. This board represents the brand for my business, On the Arrow Events, which is a Wedding and Event Planning company. I chose a monochromatic theme to reflect my attention to detail and the importance of cohesion when I design. I specifically chose to not show any faces in this mood board or my attached presentation because I want those who are interested in my services to be able to see themselves. I am looking forward to working with a diverse clientele of different backgrounds, style preferences, and budgets and hope to be able to do everything I can to make their special day perfect.

Cheers!

Jessica Rentz
