CWEP project #1

Posted By Cecily A. Wimms, Wednesday, January 30, 2019
Updated: Wednesday, January 30, 2019

Hi everyone!

My name is Cecily Wimms; I'm from New York but I currently reside in Virginia. My passion for creativity, designing and planning events is out of this world. At age 9, the year of 2000 I was a flower girl at my aunt's wedding. I fell in love with weddings as soon as I made my entrance as a flower girl. The experience was fun and exciting! Everything was so beautiful! The room filled with happiness and so much joy. I loved it! I love seeing others happy!

This lovely project of mine is based on a wedding celebration I planned for my childhood friend Indira and her husband Kevin. Indira's favorite color was always purple. Kevin loves all shades of brown and tan. We decided to go with purple and gold so that everything can shine. Indira loves everything to sparkle and shine. Here's their vision that came to life below.

CWEP Project #1

Updated: Wednesday, January 30, 2019

Hi, my name is Montesia Smith, from Maryland. I am currently a licensed massage therapist. I have always had a passion for event planning and love weddings. I am the one of the group of my friends who is always planning our next trip and looking up prices and quotes. I wanted to step it up and do more so that’s why I started this program.

My experience in the program so far has been good. There is so much to learn and take in, never thought it was so much to do. This project has taught me how to execute a wedding proposal or plan for a couple. This will help me when I am certified to guide me with my future clients.

For this project I made a couple, that are high school sweethearts Ben and Emily. They recently our new home buyers and are excited to tie the knot. They have been dating since 16 years old, and want to incorporate their high school colors into their wedding day. They choose a spring wedding with a outdoor ceremony, with a elegant decor and ton of flowers in their reception with Navy blue and white pearl.

My mood board is down below.

My sample client has chosen to have a cozy country winter wedding. For their mood board, I have selected red and black with buffalo plaid as their color scheme. Their floral is red and white, with green pine accents and pine cones. Their centerpiece tablescape is a rustic design, incorporating pine and holly berry, with wood planks topped with white pillar candles in glass candle holders.

For my mood board, I chose a color palette of sage green, white, & black/gold accents! To achieve this look - the bridesmaids have a sage green dress while the grooms-men wear a dark grey suit rimmed with black, and a sage green tie/pocket square. The atompshere is elegant, romantic and simple - lit candles with hanging string lights.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Maria A. Morales, Monday, January 28, 2019

Hi! My name is Maria Alejandra Morales I am from Venezuela but currently living in Germany.

I was always interested in the Event Industry and when I was in the University I had to plan an Event about Chocolate Tasting and loved it, that is why I decided to pursue my passion in this business and started this course. I chose Wedding Planning because I think is a way of sharing love and nothing is more satisfactory than loving what you do and expressing it through a ceremony of love like weddings are.

My wedding is base on a couple from Venezuela that are living in Hamburg, Germany and decided to do their wedding on Fall because for them is the most beautiful season. It is a very modern and classic wedding incorporating in some traditions from Venezuela and others from Germany.

Hi, my name is Maiya and I currently stay in Houston, Tx. I have a passion to become a wedding planner because I went to a wedding this past summer and I loved it. Everything about it was amazing!!!! I'm glad that I am taking this course so I can learn more about being a wedding planner and to make people dreams come true!!

This project is based on a couple who are both business people. They always wanted a modern wedding that goes with their lifestyle. So, I created a fall modern wedding that celebrates the love and happiness they have for eachother.

My mood board is down below, which shows the modern "warehouse" theme. It also shows the A8 that makes the board.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Martine E. Gordon, Friday, January 25, 2019

HI!

My name is Martine Gordon. I am originally from Connecticut, but have lived in New York City for the past three years.

Sometimes, I flash back to when I was 6-years-old planning and executing the “weddings” and “parties” of my stuffed animals and Barbie dolls. What started as a game when I was younger turned into a passion that I have had my entire life. From friend’s birthdays to holiday parties, I have always been the one that my friends and family come to for help with their events!

For the past three years I have been working on the Wholesale team of fashion companies. At the age of 25-years-old I have realized that there is no better time to switch industries. As much as I have loved working in the sales world, I know that my passion is better suited in the Event and Wedding Planning Industry, so I began this course.

I am still in the beginning stage of this course but I am learning so much so far and very excited to learn more. This project helped me realize just how much time and effort goes in to even the beginning stages of planning an event.

For project 1, I planned a wedding for my friend Harper and her fiancé Rory. My mood board reflects the burgundy and gold color scheme that the couple wants. Along with the overall rustic/barn feel that the couple wants for their wedding in VT!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Nina Ehrsam, Thursday, January 24, 2019
Updated: Thursday, January 24, 2019

Hi,

My name is Nina Ehrsam and I am from San Jose, California. I have been in the corporate event industry for some time and about 4 years ago I started getting interested in becoming more versatile and wanted to work with a variety of different type of events. I went to a friends wedding that summer and I found myself analyzing and thinking how I would have done something differently or more efficiently and it was like a light struck my head that night. I became passionate about wanting to expand to doing weddings and I started assisting other established Bay Area wedding planners to gain some real life experience. Last year I decided I would officially need to get certified in wedding planning as well and I am very motivated to study this certification program through and do my best.

I am from Scandinavia originally and winter is a major part of our seasons and therefore my mood board reflects my background and love for winter scenery. I love winter weddings. They are so special and have such unique elements to work with. My couple is getting married in Lake Tahoe in California and and they want to bring that Nordic winter in their wedding in California. The wedding includes winter scenery photography, snow, and  the venue resembles an ice hotel from the Nordics, where ice, blue, white, and aurora borealis lights all come together. I hope you enjoy my winter wedding!

And for some reason I can't get my image to show up, you have to click the download. Anyone know how to include the picture, so it's visible with this story?

Updated: Tuesday, January 22, 2019

Hi Everyone! My name is Bianca and I am from Houston Texas. I have wanted to be a wedding planner since I was 13 years old when I helped out with my cousin's wedding. My goal is to work for a small company with a team of planners. Right now I am working as a paid part time day of assistant with a planner. I will start a 10 week internship with her in a couple weeks. To this day, I have done one solo wedding outside of her for a friend of a friend and am planning two more weddings for friends one being this April.

This mood board was inspired by my childhood friend's wedding next year in Colorado. She wants a January wedding and is already looking into a venue in the mountains for a warm and festive ambiance.

CWEP Project 1-Planning a Social Event or Wedding

Posted By Angela Dillon, Tuesday, January 22, 2019

Hello! My name is Angela and I currently reside in Central California. Event planning has been a passion of mine for many years. I have planned numerous birthday parties, bridal showers, and baby showers for friends and family. I also more recently helped in the planning for my sister’s wedding. All this time, those who have let me plan their event or attended one of the events I have planned have always told me that I should consider making a career out of it. Just recently did I take the initial step to begin an event planning career. I am scared to death, but also very excited to have this opportunity and see where it goes.

My inspiration for CWEP Project 1 was vintage. Rustic/Vintage weddings are really in now and there are tons of amazing ideas on Pinterest, various magazines, etc. I utilized the sample templates in the library for the budget and day of timelines, however made them my own. I edited to make them work for me as well as had a logo made for my company and added that to the form as well. As we move through the course, I am making sure that I create the necessary documents for my company so that at the end of the certification I am ready to hit the ground running! J All of the vendors utilized for my project are located in and around my town and easily accessable for up to a 100 mile radius.

Attached to this post is the wedding mood board which provides a visual for the theme of the event.

CWEP Project #1

Posted By Stephanie Villatoro, Monday, January 21, 2019

Hey! My name is Stephanie, I am from the Northern Virginia area. I have had a passion for event planning starting in 2014 when I took a wedding planning course at GMU as an elective. But by then it was too late for me to change my major so I continued with my business degree knowing that it will help me in the future. I have interened and worked with various planners in the area in hopes to one day have my own event planning business, alongside my sister. That is why I have decided to take these steps and pursue my certification.

The project one assignment really made you dive into all the elements and details of planning a wedding right away. It made me look into local vendors and see what they offer and compare them to similar vendors. All knowledge that will be very useful in the end when recommending vendors to clients.

My inspiration for project 1 came from a couple that I helped with 2 years ago. It was the first really big wedding that I was able to help plan from start to finish and to this day it is one of my favorites so far.

My mood board shows you a quick glance at what they wanted for their wedding day.

Project 1

Posted By Micha Bancroft, Monday, January 21, 2019

Hi! My name is Micha, I live in Northern Michigan. I have been employed as an Assistant Wedding Coordinator for just over a year. I am taking this course to continue learning about the industry and possibly opening my own event planning company soon! It has been such a great learning experience and I am using all of the things I am learning as I move into the role of Wedding Coordinator for the upcoming wedding season! My company would be Mr and Me Designs and I would take on small weddings in Michigan focusing on bringing out the best of my clients and supporting their uniqueness.

This course has offered a greater understanding of the Wedding Industry as a whole. It has been great to get some more grounding after years of experience in the food and beverage industry and the little time spent as an assistant coordinator. I greatly enjoyed the chapter about traditions from all over the world as I think it would be a great "catch" to my business to prove knowledge in other traditions. Putting together this project was very enjoyable. I found vendors I have not had the opportunity to work with, I was able to showcase the vendors I have worked with, and got some insight in how to make small choices to increase a personal feel to any wedding day.

The Wedding I have chosen to use for Project 1 is actually my own! I am not engaged yet but my boyfriend and I have discussed it numerous times. We have both been married before so we have some specific desires for our wedding! We will marry right down the road from where we met, a place that holds a special spot in our hearts. Northern Michigan is gorgeous in the Fall so a casual, comfortable September wedding that celebrates memories, friends, family, and the future is spot on to show off our love!

Attached is our mood board. You can see more on my pinterest page for this event at :https://www.pinterest.com/mrandmedesigns/micha-and-scott-wedding/

CWEP Project #1

Posted By Brittany M. Radish, Monday, January 21, 2019

Hi Everyone! I am Brittany Radish from a suburb of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I am taking this course so I can learn the skills necessary to become the best wedding planner for my future clients. My corporate job is in Corporate Event and Tradeshow Management, however I have found myself planning weddings for others in the evenings and weekends. With that being said, I am opening my own wedding and event planning business! So far, I have enjoyed this course! There has been many small details that are mentioned in the text and videos that I have not thought of.

For Project #1, I chose to highlight a current client of mine that is quite different from everyone I have worked with before. Their budget is very tight, which allowed up to be creative at where money was being sent. The most creative and non-traditional aspect would be the ceremony/reception is only in the afternoon and the food is a casual brunch buffet.

Throughout the duration of my certification and course work with Longevity I am making strides to open my own business, B-Rad Weddings & Celebrations! Website and social media is coming soon!

My name is Blandine I am French, and live in a small island next to Madagascar called Reunion Island. Living on a paradisiac island and being French, my wish is to share my culture with everyone.

I learned a lot while doing the Wedding and Event planner classes. I developed my creativity and my desire to make my own company is only stronger. I especially enjoyed creating my own website in this course.

For my grand opening I want people to travel, I choose the theme of France, Chic and elegant. Vendors will be present and a French Chef will be demonstrating french cuisine while you can enjoy music, a photo booth and a wedding gown show.

Assignment 1.3 question

Posted By Naomi Ohayon, Thursday, January 17, 2019

Hi Everyone,

My name is Naomi, I just started this course, I am taking it because I want to change my career and become a Wedding Planner. I am feeling a bit overwhelmed. I was looking over Assignment 1.3 and it mentions about creating a Pinterest Board for your business.  My goal is to join someone else's business or work at a Company. My plan isn't to start my own business.  Is anyone else in the same boat? Should I come up with a business plan just for this Assignment?

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Shreshtha Ghoshal, Thursday, January 17, 2019

Hi everyone! My name is Shreshtha and I'm a Dallas-based event coordinator. I've been in the events industry for over 5 years, and was finally ready to take my career to the next level by gaining the training and education I needed from LWPI.
I've had a blast in this course so far. I've learned so many things I didn't even know I needed to know, and feel a lot more confident about planning a full scale wedding from start to finish thanks to this project.

My project is actually based on my own wedding, which will happen in 2022. My fiance and I recently got engaged, and nothing is more daunting thank planning your own wedding! We decided to have a sunset ceremony at the beautiful Rancho Mirando in Texas Hill Country, and are very excited for everything to come together! This project is an overview of just that, and I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did putting it together!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Saige Boyer, Wednesday, January 16, 2019

Hi everyone, my name is Saige Boyer and I live in Pennsylvania.  Since I was a kid I've wanted to plan weddings, but I've been afraid to pursue it.  I found Lovegevity and finally decided that now was my time to do what I've wanted to for years.  No more excuses!

My mood board is inspired by a couple who had kids while they were still in college.  They have been engaged for years but they couldn't find the time to plan a ceremony and actually tie the knot. After years of being unable to plan a big wedding, they decided to elope to Hawaii.  With their two daughters and a few close friends, they got married on the beach.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Elorne Duncan, Tuesday, January 15, 2019
Hello, I am Elorne Duncan, I currently live and work in Grenada W.I. as a Wedding and Event Manager. I am an Event Professional with over 14 years experience and I started this course to add to my skill set and to gain a deeper understanding of my craft.  I wanted to highlight a beautiful couple looking to get married later this year in the beautiful Tri-Island State of Grenada, our couple is smart, young, trendy, socially conscious and fun.  It is well known 2018 was all about the colour that described it, Ultra Violet which suggests "the mysteries of the cosmos, the intrigue of what lies ahead, and the discoveries beyond where we are now. The vast and limitless night sky is symbolic of what is possible and continues to inspire the desire to pursue a world beyond our own." As we move away from the"dramatically provocative and thoughtful purple shade", we move into 2019 with the "innate need for optimism and joyful pursuits," Living Coral." This was annouced by Pantone on December 5, 2018 via Instagram. I can honestly say the colour is absolutely stunning, soft and warming to the beholder. This colour was also chosen to to highlight the devastating effects on coral reefs worldwide.  "An animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge..." I created a mood board that not only spoke to the client's aura but also to their wants and needs. As event professionals we have to continueously keep ourselves up to date and relevant with global trends, while setting our own imaginative inclinations. If not us, who will wield the day and night into gold...?
