CWEP Project #1

Posted By Alexa Gonzalez, Tuesday, April 16, 2019

Hi my name is Alexa Gonzalez, and I joined the Lovegevity Wedding and Event Planning Class to help me start my business. I have been planning on opening my business for a while now since I can remember organizing my first party. I have always loved everything that has to do with party planning, from choosing a venue, to organizing every little detail, and watching everyone having a good time! Getting compliments about my work is always a good feeling as well. I cannot wait to show other people what I can do and how beautiful I can make their events.

For my project, I have chosen to go with a couple that has already been married. Izabella and Elijah have been together for 7 years and finally got married a year ago by church. They only invited immediate family but now want to enjoy their marriage with the rest of their family and friends.

The type of wedding they want to go for is a fun and family oriented feel. They will be having it at a venue that will allow them to be inside and outside. This will accommodate everyone they invite and also be good for all the outside events they want to have. Izabella and Elijah love food and want to have plenty of it which would include hors d’oeuvres, small meals, a main course, and a lot of sweets. Izabella is in love with flowers so the reception will be a shabby chic/Bo Ho theme. The groom loves music so he is happy he got to incorporate the music he liked. For cocktail hour he had chosen to go with a Mariachi band and for the rest of the event he decided to go with a cover band and DJ.

They date of the wedding will be in September year 2020; this will have the summer/ autumn temperatures which will be great for the inside/outside event.

Client Appreciation Party - Project # 3

Posted By Shelly Schuetz, Tuesday, April 16, 2019

Shelly Schuetz Event Services is proud to announce a Client Appreciation Holiday Soiree for a local real estate company.  The mission of Shelly Schuetz Event Services is to assist each and every client by offering expert planning advice and coordination skills in planning a client’s special event to celebrate a special occasion that marks a milestone in their business or personal life.  It is our goal to exceed each and every clients’ expectations in planning their special day.  Since we care about our clients and our community, we are proud to plan their event to mark their 20 years of real estate business.

The Client Appreciation event will be held at the Harper’s Mill Clubhouse.  Anticipation will build as the agents continue to add to their client list during the busy summer and fall months of buying and selling real estate.  Six weeks before their event, Shelly Schuetz Event Services will create and mail their invitations to their extensive list of clients, family, friends and referrals.

Guests will arrive to a beautiful decorated clubhouse ready for a holiday soiree.  The colors will be a lovely, sage green with winter white accents with touches of burlap and fresh greenery to complete the rustic winter theme. Guests will be greeted at the door with a holiday drink, and cocktail tables will be welcoming guests and encourage them to mingle with the other guests at the party.  Soft holiday music will be playing to create an atmosphere of cheer, but not to distract from conversation. Delicious appetizers will be beautifully displayed and ready to eat when guests arrive.  Mistletoe shots will be served after 8pm when the DJ starts to play livelier music so guests can enjoy an evening of dancing. Photo Booth props will be on hand to add to the fun.  A professional photographer will be capturing the event for years to come! A tree displayed by the door will include ornaments that the guests can take home to remember their evening. Signs will be displayed in the room to thank guests for their business over the years. Wrapping paper will also be set up near the tree for guests to take home.  This special message will be tied to the roll of wrapping paper, “Thanks for helping us wrap up a great year serving you & your referrals.”  A holiday donation will be made in honor of their years of service to the community to the Autism Society of Central Virginia.

CWEP - Project 3: Grand Opening

Posted By Eriqa Burson, Tuesday, April 16, 2019

This project was the most interesting in my opinion because I got to think about different things that I would do if this was my personal grand opening event. It allowed me to show my vision for this type of event. Having a designing business would be a dream come true because it’s my passion and I’ve always wanted to do something special for people. So, our mission is to provide our clients with the services needed to produce the most memorable and dream-worthy event no matter how big or small. No matter what the client’s style or vision is, we will work to ensure that their event is everything you hoped for and more.

For the event, I have several ideas that I wanted to include, but I had to be realistic. So, my goal was to display our talents and pair it with a fun and relaxed environment. For anticipation, I loved the idea of posting flyers on social media and hand delivering some because it shows that we are in tune with social media, while adding a personal and old fashion touch. For the arrival and atmosphere, I wanted to have a fun and exciting environment from start to finish. I also wanted to be able to showcase our talents along with the other vendors that we are working with for the evening. For amusement, to keep this fun and exciting atmosphere, I thought giving everyone the opportunity to win prizes would be an added bonus. For those who don’ t win a gift, they will still be given a souvenir for attending the event.

My hope for this event was to share our future vision for our company and how we planned to get there. Not only is everyone there a potential client or business partner but are a part of our brand. They are contributing to our brand image that we are setting for everyone else to see. We are a company that consists of talented individuals and that may not be offered by other companies. Our clients are our main priority and we take pride in the relationships that we create with them. We get to know them and their interests in order to provide them with their dream event no matter what services we are providing them with.

A positive image is what we want to have in the public eye, and we plan to do this through getting to know our clients and donating to our community. Events By Eriqa donates to a number or charities and organizations in the Richmond area to help those who are in need. Not only is this how we approach the concept of donating, but this is how we approach our clients as well. We believe in providing the service to ensure that we make their dreams a reality.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Alejandra Galiano, Monday, April 15, 2019

Hi, my name is Alejandra, I was born in Colombia in the beautiful coast city of
Barranquilla. I moved to the United States in 2005 and I have lived in Florida ever since. I have loved everything about weddings since I was a little girl and I've always been a planner at heart. I've worked as an assistant coordinator for a wedding planner and I've also worked as the main event coordinator for a hotel, but after doing both of those things I decided to open my own company and be my own boss!

This assignment was really interesting because this is the first wedding I plan on my own for my company, Galiano Events. The bride comes from a very traditional religious Cuban family but both her and her fiance are a little more laid back. They will be having their ceremony at her church in Miami and the reception will be at a country club ballroom. Their color scheme is blush and navy and their style is a perfect blend between vintage and classic elegance.

Abbey Colvin Project 3

Posted By Abbey Colvin, Sunday, April 14, 2019

Have you ever wanted to get out on a week night and go have some fun?  Well you can have that opportunity by coming to the Grand Opening of Sinclair Events. On a warm night in June you will be able to sip some wine, eat great food and be surrounded by friends and new acquaintances.

Guests will receive invitations to the Grand Opening party with hand written envelopes to add that personal touch.  This night will be promoted as a fun night to dress up and meet new people and give back to the Ronald McDonald House.

As guests arrive they will be ushered into the tasting room where they will have wine tastings as well as a welcome drink waiting for them.  The evening will move into the ballroom and the back veranda that will be decorated with twinkling lights.  Inside the ball room there will be food stations as well as heavy hors d’oeuvres.  Cocktail tables will be set up with gold centerpieces and light pink flowers with eucalyptus accents.  The tables will be covered in an ivory tablecloth with eucalyptus tied around the base.  The evening will continue with DJ and dancing.  Dessert will be put out which is a make your own donut bar.  This is an interactive feature that will let guests get involved.

Throughout the evening vendors that are represented at the event will have the option to put together gift baskets that will be raffled off with proceeds going to the charity of the night.  The night will commence with a lantern send off and again all proceeds from the lantern sales will go to the Ronal McDonald House.

This evening will be a great way to get my brand and image out into the public eye.  Guests will be able to see how I plan and execute and event and I will be able to network with those potential clients that are there.  I will have business cards to pass out, but my main marketing will be done after the event with thank you cards, follow up phone calls and meetings over coffee.  That way I will be able to talk with people one on one.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Zena Jeffress, Saturday, April 13, 2019
Updated: Saturday, April 13, 2019

Hi all! I'm Zena from Charlotte, NC.My background is in corporate communication and vendor management. Over the past 5 years, I've become the go-to event and wedding planner for family and friends. After having so many people encourage me to sharpen my skills, I decided to pursue this course with the goal of growing a career in event planning.

My inspiration for Project 1 is a summer bride seeking a chic yet family friendly backyard wedding. With pops of bright colors, refreshing beverages, and a delicious s'mores station, her guests will enjoy an intimate evening focused on the love between the couple.

CWEP Project 3

Posted By JoDee Krotz, Friday, April 12, 2019

Hi! I'm JoDee Krotz in Fort Worth TX. My husband and I live in both Texas and Iowa. Texas is our transition state as we move toward creating a profitable livelihood as a seasonal wedding and events venue in Montrose, Iowa, we named: 1884 On the Bluff. We will soon begin renovations on the Iowa property

As the property is in a small community in SE Iowa, we wanted to create an opportunity to share ideas, meet, and garner the support of the nearest neighbors, local business owners, community leaders, creatives, and friends. To kick everything off right out of the gate, we decided on a theme: “Celebrate Before We Renovate.”

We picked a date, created a logo and an invitation. We also recruited the help of an area acoustic guitar artist, two local photographers, catered the affair with a local food truck, served local craft beer, purchased outdoor décor from a local greenhouse, and rented party necessities from the areas supplier.

As the electricity wasn’t yet run on the property, everything ran on a small generator we set-up under the barn. We made a ‘chandelier’ with cut and gathered branches from a cedar tree, bound the limbs and wrapped with lights. We hung the creation from the highest rafters in the barn. The gathering was an informal, intimate, and laid-back experience; but, a welcome treat to all attending.

Guests shared stories and memories of the property over the years; and, we shared our vision of beautiful parties amidst the trees. We expressed our intent to create a down-to-earth (organic and earthy) venue, while also capturing graceful and refined qualities.

We envision our restoration to reflect a love of the outdoors meets fine art; or, a farm amidst the old-world, a gallery and gardens. Both pastoral - yet sleek and simple in its architecture. Receptions might be held in a clear span marquee with a likeness to a botanical glasshouse. Couples can dress it up with hanging candles and dried herbs; and dine by candlelight and dancing beneath the stars.

Our venue is a historic and unique 1800’s build & offers an authentic nod to a romantic time gone by. The property’s buildings were the vision of a German Immigrant. The limestone quarried homestead and stone foundation banked barn reflect an “old world” style - rustic with an earthy, more comparable to something you might see in Sussex, yet boasting Germanic roots, and a European flair, right in Iowa. Couples who opt for this environment will feel as though they’ve been transported to a wooded European countryside. We hope you’ll wish us luck as we embrace this undertaking.

CWEP Project 3

Posted By Shirley Ward, Friday, April 12, 2019
Updated: Friday, April 19, 2019

I am Shirley Ward, owner of PRIVATE AFFAIRS, Wedding & Events. On June 6th from 7-9PM, Private Affairs is hosting its Grand Opening Launch Party at Verona Villa in Frisco.

I am a newly certified wedding and event planner through Lovegevity, but have planned over 150 highly successful events over the past 40 plus years. I have enjoyed taking my passion for planning and putting more form and structure to it through the CWEP course.

In addition to announcing its opening, Private Affairs has curated the event to walk engaged couples through the wedding planning process with experts in each field. Invitees will include newly engaged couples as well as local media outlets. At the event, newly engaged couples will be invited to attend and will receive tips and information from vendors who will help them navigate their wedding journey.

There will be a short presentation to welcome guests and introduce our company. Couples will receive information about the wedding planning process and introductions to the participating vendors. The main activities will be held on the outdoor patio where both contemporary and cozy lounge seating areas will be set up to give couples ideas for their own reception. The color palette will be in soft grey, blue and cream with pops of color. Décor will be tasteful and subtly elegant, to support the Private Affairs brand image.

Attendance is free of charge; however, raffle tickets will be sold for chances to win prizes donated by the host vendors. All proceeds from raffle sales will go to Lovepacs of Frisco to help children in need.
