CWEP Project 1

Posted By Grey H. Simonds, Sunday, August 4, 2019
For my CWEP Project 1 mood board, I chose a "desert southwest boho chic" wedding theme. I believe weddings should display the vibrancy and personality of the celebrated couple, and the desert southwest, with its "painted" landscape, offers an ideal backdrop for vivacious events. I wanted to strike a balance between the elegance of traditional romantic weddings and the colorful youthfulness of bohemian style. I enjoyed this opportunity to create a beautiful model that harmoniously unites bohemian design with classic wedding accents.

Project 1 was an amazing experience as a new event planner since it gave me knowledge about the industry which has enhanced my efficiency as well as prepared me as an asset my team. It has given me amazing skills, working with a team of professionals and has shaped me into a team player. I have prepared a beach wedding experience filled with fun, sand and sea with a summer vibe in its fullest. I hope you enjoy as much as I have with CWEP-event planning

Project 3

Posted By Kaylee J. Johnson, Saturday, August 3, 2019

I'm excited to announce that Kaylee Julianna Photography has expanded into Kaylee Julianna Weddings & Events!

Although I WILL NOT be adding wedding planner/coordinator services to what I currently offer (I love photography too much to try and balance both) My goal is to one day open up my own wedding venue, which is why I signed up for this program. Having knowledge from a wedding and event planners perspective is definitely something I'll need to run my own venue and I'm super excited for it.

Thanks!

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Haley M. Johnson, Friday, August 2, 2019
Happily Ever After Events is a new up and coming Wedding planning business in the Orlando Florida area and will be opening soon. Our brand is heavily inspired from the city of love itself, Paris! The brand incorporates light and whimsical color schemes with pretty pastels such as pinks, blue, lavenders, and greens. This evokes a relaxed and romantic atmosphere which is exactly how they want their clients to feel on their special day. The journey began with internships and coordinating and planning weddings for many couples. Each wedding was unique and beautiful, but they all had one thing in common, their love for each other. By recognizing that and taking the time to meet with and truly get to know the couple on a deeper level, Happily Ever After Events with Haley is able to design the perfect wedding for the couple. By doing so, each couple has their very own fairy tale brought to life. Our brand is targeting young professionals in the Central Florida market, along with couples from all around the world as Orlando is one of the top Destination Wedding locations in the world. By utilizing social media platforms and a new modern sleek website, Happily Ever After Events with Haley is able to attract their target market by being easily accessible and providing clients with information immediately!

CWEP Project 3

Posted By Stephanie Corliss (Horne), Thursday, August 1, 2019

Hello!

My company's Corliss Creative Coordinating grand opening event's theme is inspired by Coachella - Bohemian-eque with bright colored. I decided on this so my potential clients and vendors understand my company's mission - creating a themed, personalized event. Not all couple is the same therefore not every event should be the same!

We will have non-traditional wedding finger foods with a mix of traditional foods so the caterer partners can portray their excellence. We will also offer auctions, raflles, and even a Plinko game! The Plinko game is $25 for 5 plinko discs. The client can win an amount of money to take off their wedding package that they book!

All proceeds collected by Corliss Creative Coordinating will be given to the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando so help save our homeless pets in the Central Florida area.

Love a many splendored thing - Blog Post - Assignment 18.6

Posted By Naomi Ohayon, Monday, July 29, 2019
Updated: Monday, July 29, 2019

Since starting this course and telling people what I am studying, they will stop, look me in the eye and say, "Yes, that is perfect for you".

For majority of my life, or since I can remember, I have been a romantic, for those fleeting romantic scenes on my television screen, from The Way we Were to Dirty Dancing. The human connection, the longing looks, the brush of the finger tips.  I would watch the movies, and listen to the music, and sometimes it felt like I had my own rom - com constantly playing in my mind. It felt like most of my waking moments my head was in the clouds and somewhere else, letting my imagination run wild.

Don't take me as naive, I knew that life wasn't like the movies, and I wasn't expecting to fall in love like in one of my favourite movies, I was, and still am pretty grounded when it comes to falling in love. I still have high expectations, and what I deserve out of a partner, but I don't expect to be swept off my feet. I believe in partnership and bringing out the best in each other, and showing each other the five love languages. I believe in romantic moments not a romantic life.

Along with my love for love, I have always been creative and have a good eye for colour and details. I am also super organized (Think type A), and I love helping people. When you put together my strengths and my wants it came out as finding a new journey as a wedding planner. I am super excited and nervous to be taking these next steps and all the new opportunities it may hold for me and the adventures it will take me on, and maybe somewhere I least expect it, it might bring me on the path of my own love story.

CWEP Project #2

Posted By Michelle Hickmon, Monday, July 29, 2019

Hi,

My name is Michelle. For this project I came up with the company Prestigious Events. I am located in Brooklyn, NY, where I will be based. I came up with the name Prestigious Events because I want my company to be set aside from my competitors. The definition of Prestigious means inspiring respect and admiration; having high status. Distinguished, honored, esteemed and well known. That’s the reputation I want for my company. The colors associated with my brand are Gold and red. I chose those colors because gold represents wealth, grandeur and prosperity, while red represents strength & power as well as love and passion.

I want clients to leave a consultation knowing that if they hire us everything will be extraordinary. My brand will also show you how to achieve  all of this splendor even while on a budget.

Updated: Saturday, July 27, 2019

My name is Deorate Wilson, I live in McKinney, TX and I am a full time Caregiver. I took this course to learn more about passion of becoming an Event Planner. This course has brought tough disciplining but the outcome will be rewarding. I have planned events before but I never dealt with the paperwork side of things. I am learning so much in so little time that it can be overwhelming. The end or should I say the beginning of this journey will be so rewarding for me. Project 2 was very hard but it helped me see what I needed to expect when building my company and making it a success while still keeping as something I enjoy to do. My project is a build of my event planning company, the steps I will take to reach my overall goals for my company, the different services I will offer and the events that I will focus on to bring my special touches to my clients.

CWEP Project 1

Updated: Wednesday, July 24, 2019

I’m Bianca Ochoa. I currently live in El Paso,TX but am currently looking to move to WA. I am a stay-at-home mom but would love to have wedding planning as my full time career.

My project is vintage inspired. I grew up with shows such as I Love Lucy, The Dick Van Dyke Show Bewitched. So designing a wedding with those shows in mind was a fun tribute.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Chelsea Schooley Wyatt, Wednesday, July 24, 2019

I’m Chelsea. I live near Sacramento, Ca. I currently work for the public sector and will be continuing my education in Sociology this Fall. I plan on making this my part-time job and maybe eventually becoming a full-time independent wedding planner.

This has been an interesting experience for me. A lot of known factors, because I planned every detail of my own wedding a year and a half ago. There has also been a learning curve with using Easil and Pinterest to make mood boards and project ideas.

This project is a steampunk inspired wedding. I was not familiar with the genre as a whole but I Love the outfits and the accessories. Steampunk is basically a science fiction genre set in the age of steam machinery. This wedding is a steampunk theme beginning to end.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Laura Darwent, Wednesday, July 24, 2019

Mt name is Laura Darwent and I have been in the Wedding industry for the last 13 years so I'm excited to finally get certified. I live in Trinidad, a very small island in the Caribbean where we do things a little differently. This wedding is for my very practical god daughter, so it was very special to me. They wanted a simple yet elegant wedding with ocean views so they chose venues that allowed the architecture to be part of their decor so that they could focus on the guests experience - a little something unexpected everywhere you turn!

CWEP Project 1

Updated: Thursday, July 25, 2019

My name is Michelle Ferrer. I've been in the event industry for over 12 years and am excited to officially become a certified wedding planner. I've been doing events including corporate, government, and associations for many many years, but am looking to refocus my business in the wedding industry.

This wedding is for a luxury garden wedding. The couple wanted something soft and ethereal with hints of old-world elegance. I am incorporating garden roses and ranunculus in their floral design to give a bit of romantic texture to their arrangements. I am also adding wax sealed invitations and menus for that old-world charm they desire. A champagne bar waits guests inside the reception in a 100-year old manor softly decorated with lush florals, soft draping, and tapered candles. The day is deeply personalized and intimate.

Relationship Advice- Article Review

Posted By Naomi Ohayon, Wednesday, July 24, 2019
Updated: Wednesday, July 24, 2019

I read the article written by Linda & Charlie Bloom called Why is Checking in so Important?

This article stood out to me right away since checking in with loved ones is very important it me. I truly believe in checking in with your partner. Whether it's a text to make sure they are okay, knowing that they had a rough night or sitting down and asking each other "how was your day"?

It doesn't matter if you have children or not, I find that couples lose sense of each other once the wedding is done and every day life and stress is thrown upon them. They get blinded to what grounds them to each other and the small things that are important to keep relationships thriving. It's the small things that matter most, holding hands, a kiss on the temple, cooking a meal together. All these little things add up.

In this article they also mention the 5 Love Languages which I love and believe can really help couples understand each other and themselves and what they need in a relationship. As it's been said giving all 5 languages is important but make sure that the ones that are the most prominent are being shown. Usually each person has one primary and one secondary love language.

  • Words of Affirmation
  • Acts of Service
  • Physical Touch
  • Receiving Gifts
  • Quality Time

For more information you can read The 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman.

Project 3 - Grand Opening

Posted By Danielle Fortner, Wednesday, July 24, 2019

Hello,

Grace Events is now open for business!

I have had a great experience with this course. I have truly learned a lot about how to effectively plan events, and run a business in this industry. I particularly enjoyed the webinars.

I have attached a mood board for my opening event "Afternoon Tea". It is a tea party set at a historic wedding venue in my area. I felt this would be a great way for prospective clients and vendors to see my abilities and enjoy a fun tea party.
