CWEP Project #1

Posted By Kayce Drasher, Friday, April 19, 2019
Hello! My name is Kayce. I have been in the wedding industry since I was 14. I started my company about 5 years ago. I am looking to learn new skills and hoping to expand my business. I primarily do day of coordination about 6-12 weddings a year. I am currently working with a new venue in helping them design their wedding packages and do their wedding planning. I enjoyed this project. I think Pinterest is a fabulous business tool. I try to take photos of my weddings and create a board for each wedding I do. I like using Canva, I think this resource will be very helpful as I grow my business. The wedding I choose is a Nature / Green wedding. I stuck to a lot of green colors and using the nature around us to create a fun nature green wedding.

CWEP Project #1

Posted By Ashley Berry, Friday, April 19, 2019
Hi my name is Ashley Berry and I'm from Raleigh, NC. I work as a bartender and have for awhile now, I also used to do day of coordination for weddings for a year or so. I want to be able to expand my knowledge in event planning and learn from others as well as network. So far this course has been great and just enough challenging. The project was fun to do but challenging. The project I am submitting is for a winter themed wedding. I tried to use warm colors and natural candle light to give the feel of warmth to the wedding.

CWEP Project 1 (glow in the dark event)

Updated: Thursday, April 18, 2019
hi, my name is tamari. I was born and raised in harlem but currently reside in the bronx. I'm currently a full time student and work part time in a private clinic. My end game is to have my own venue space to rent out as well as my own event planning business. I first realized I had a niche for this when I hosted my son's 1st birthday. This project is based on an event I did for my son's 5th birthday. The event presented is the glow in the dark party that I hosted for my son's 5th birthday. My mood board shows a couple of things I created as well as some items needed to host a glow in the dark party.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Payal Patel, Wednesday, April 17, 2019
Updated: Wednesday, April 17, 2019

Hi my name is Payal. I’m from GA.The name I came up for my business is Soiree Events. I just finished project two. It was easier than project 1. I liked coming up with something that really branded my business. It is much easier being creative and the business side to this industry is really important to get a grasp on for someone who is all about creative things. I really like branding my self as clean yet creative and cool. I love light color palette with dusty colors. I want to go for a soft look. This project was helpful on the more real logical things that as business owners we should really pay attention too.

CWEP - Project 3

Posted By Tammi Joseph, Wednesday, April 17, 2019

I actually presented my project 4.16 in class prior to posting it.

The anticipation for Antigua Carnival is on us.  The Carnival committee has started staging various events via FB and Instagram.  There’s even a FB page for folks planning on being there for the celebration to confirm their attendance.  On that very FB page, a teaser for a soft launch happening in June will be posted and at the soft launch we’ll be announcing the date of the Grand Opening and posting the date on the Carnival webpage. During the soft launch we’ll have give away items to get folks excited and talking about Events by Tammi J.  We’ll be giving out branded hand towels, sunblock and invitations to the actual grand opening happening at Shirley Heights on August 10, 2019 from 3pm to 6pm. Our mission statement will be posted and visible on huge poster boards for everyone to see our intentions for how we plan to start this business off right. Everyone attending the event will be encourage to sign in and leave their contact information for post event follow-ups.

Our target clients are middle class individuals  with discretionary income and those individuals that come home every year because that’s where family is and where they ultimately see themselves  in the long term.  In targeting those individuals, we will also be targeting their friends and family member’s as well who have the same traditions, goals, and value when it comes to enjoying life in Antigua.

The grand opening will have a few local vendors that will be working with and , giving prospective clients opportunity to sample their mouthwatering delectable foods.  . What is a party without music, especially y in Antigua.

Onward and Upward!

Posted By Micha Bancroft, Wednesday, April 17, 2019

Hi All! My name is Micha and I am from Northern Lower Michigan. This coming summer will be my 2 year in the business and I am excited to put to use all the things I have learned to good use!

I am fortunate to be working with some really great people in a company that was started out of pure passion for the wedding industry. They have encouraged me, supported me, taught me, laughed with me, and celebrated all the things! I am honored to have moved up the ranks quickly and will be leading my own day of weddings this summer! I am grateful to have stumbled into the Wedding and Event Planning scene as it has obviously been my passion but I didn't know! It is the perfect combination of my love for all things pretty, creative energy, dedication and hardword, organizational prowess, color coded sticky notes, and gorgeous flowers!

This course has shown me that I have what it takes to make it on my own. It has solidified in me that talent that I have, the knowledge I own, and my ability to successfully run a business one day! There is no where to go but up from here and this course has taught me that I can do it!

Project 1

Posted By Cigale McFarlane, Wednesday, April 17, 2019
Updated: Wednesday, April 17, 2019

Hello My name is Cigale McFarlane, I live in Florida. I am an interior designer. I intend on becoming an international event planner. Engaging in weddings, birthday parties, corporate and fundraising events.

The course wasn’t exactly what I anticipated; It really requires a lot of time and research. This is good in that it will force you to do extensive research which will allow you to met or exceed your clients expectation. The first project was challenging for me because I was afraid of failing. It took me sometime to get started but once I did I got into the swing of things and got it done.

The project I did is a tropical themed wedding which embodies the personalities of the couple. The event will have fun entertainment throughout from steel bands to dancers and a singer. It will be a memorable and special event for the couple, family and friends.

CWEP Project 2 blog

Posted By Minal Shah, Tuesday, April 16, 2019

The MS events is a Dallas based wedding planning company that provides a range of services, from full service planning to a la carte services. The MS events is launched on April 1st, 2019 and M has a conservative goal of booking two full service clients for the year, booking other kind of events like birthday party along with at least five partial service or day-of clients. For 2020, her goal is to book at least five full service clients and ten partial service or day-of clients. Her optimal goal for the company is to be booking ten full service clients a year and 20 partial service or day-of clients. In order to set herself apart from other wedding planners, she intends to utilize social media to promote interesting and provoking posts to attract potential clients. She has reached out to multiple local vendors in order to expand her network of wedding professionals.

This project has given me a good insight on networking with vendors, creating contracts, packages and  in client consultation. This certification covers A to Z of planning an event.

CWEP Project 3 - Grand Opening

Posted By Patricia Lewis, Tuesday, April 16, 2019

Hello, my name is Patricia Lewis and I am excited to present project 3 the grand opening of my business. The Next Level team will represent vendors in the wedding and event planning industry at expos and trade shows by designing and manning dynamic booths on their behalf. Our mission is to execute the highest standards of quality in everything that we do treating the client's company as if it were our own. Our values are integrity, excellence and excitement.

Seeing a need and filling it was a big motivator in developing my business concept. Most shows are held on the weekend which is the busiest time of the week for vendors. They are often providing services and can not participate due to schedule conflicts or lack of manpower. Not being available means missing out on potential new clients and business leads. That's where Next Level steps in to fill the gap. Our services begin with a free consultation with the vendor followed by a planning meeting to determine the design concept desired.

I have really enjoyed completing project 3. It has caused me to think outside of the box. Taking the CWEP course has stretched my thinking and increased by knowledge of the the many professional directions there are to take in the industry. It is the beginning of a new chapter for me.

I have spent my working years thus far as a mental health worker and a teacher which have both been very rewarding. However, I am elated for the opportunity to delve into another arena where I can further tap into my creative side yet continue to collaborate with people from many different walks of life.
