CWEP Project 2

Posted By Michelle Zayas, Monday, March 2, 2020

Hello! My name is Michelle Zayas, I am in the wedding and event planning business. I was 21 years old when my husband finished Army boot camp and he was assigned to Ft. Eustis, Virginia. I knew no one but made a lot of friends through the USO. This is how I came to understand what it takes to prepare a military wedding. Through the years I have traveled all around the area and have really gained knowledge of what wonderful places for events there are and how easy it is to speak with vendors and have made great relationships with so many people.

The company name is Good Times Wedding and Events. Our Inspiration comes directly from our name Good Times! Our ethos is all things that bring love and living together.  Our style is modern and contemporary. However, we don’t want to box ourselves into one style. We prefer to be known as a company that is whatever you want it to be; whether it is elegance, simplicity, or a natural vibe. We can provide designs and themes that will have a timeless, classic quality or a blast that will be remembered for decades. The colors I incorporated into our brand are based on the beautiful oceans that surround the peninsula. Coastal colors of sand, blue skies, and beachy hues of the ocean. Colonial colors are calming and refreshing, shades of modest earth tones like creamy yellow, almonds, taupe, reds, and green.

In the journey for creating my brand I really honed in on what is important to couples and the reliable resources that I can offer. In Virginia, there are many colonial landmarks, mountains, beaches, and vineyards that are excellent as scenic venues. Virginia state slogan is Virginia is for Lovers, what better way to identify a brand than to know you are engulfed in an area of love. I want to extend my knowledge to those who need that extra touch in planning a wedding.

Good Times will coordinate weddings, social, personal, and corporate events. We have a large community of Military bases, many young couples ready to start a life together. We know the rules and regulations regarding conducting Military weddings. We welcome couples from all over the world that are willing to infuse their cultural traditions into their union. We will research and do our very best in ensuring we are honoring your Cultural heritage in your wedding ceremony.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Kylie Gardner, Saturday, February 29, 2020

Hello! My name is Kylie Gardner. I recently graduate college with a bachelor's degree in English/Communications. My Senior year of college I worked as an event planner and fell in love with the job. I also helped several friends plan their weddings and soon knew I was hooked. I love event planning - especially weddings - and wanted to be able to become certified! Right now I'm working as a wedding planner for a private company and hope to grow in the company and become a senior wedding planner someday.

To be completely honest, before beginning this course I thought it would be pretty easy. Boy was I wrong! This course is very in-depth and time-consuming, and I feel like I've learned a lot more so far than I ever thought I would. I love being able to have the book and refer to it in real-life situations as well!

For this project, I created a fictional couple with certain wants and quirks. It was quite fun! Lacey and Christopher are a more laid back couple, but they have individual wants and must-haves for their wedding. I was able to use a lot of resources from the area to find what they would like, and had to do a lot of in-depth research. The wedding is still in the early stages of planning, as their wedding is not until next year, but they are looking for a simple yet elegant wedding, with specific color choices.

Project 1 was fun. I went with a classic black and white themed wedding since that's how I hope one day mines would be like. The look just seems rather elegant and sleek.

With her combination of creativity and attention to detail along her Certification in Wedding & Event Planning makes their services an asset to any event in the Greater Richmond Area.

Terrell-Varner said, “with my passion for detail, love for helping others and determination of making memories last. I decided what better way to do all of that, than event planning. Photos from some of her most successful events will be on display at her Grand Opening Launch Party along with light hords d’ouevres from her preferred caterer “Mosaic Catering + Events”. That evening she will feature the “Wounded Warrior Project Charity” and ask guests in attendance to consider donating to this amazing cause. CWEP Project #1

Posted By Maria F. Villa Mendoza, Friday, February 28, 2020
For my bride and groom, it is very important that both their ceremony and reception are made out to be an intimate and romantic celebration. They decided to go with neutral beige colors with a pop of orange and maroon, as the wedding will take place in October. Both the ceremony and reception will take place in the same location with the ceremony taking place in a cabin and they will move outdoors to their reception. The main elements that will be seen through out the wedding are the floral details as well as dim lighting to set the romantic mood. To create even more of an intimate setting, they have decided to have one long and narrow table to which they can share with their closest friends and family.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Angela Roman, Wednesday, February 26, 2020
Updated: Wednesday, February 26, 2020

Hello! I’m Angela Roman from Ankeny, IA. I’m a wife and mother of 2 beautiful girls. I’m a full time stay at home mom and part-time registered nurse. I’m hoping to start a wedding & event planning business in the near future. My passion for weddings started with my own. I remember creating a power point presentation to help me visualize my planning. After my wedding I realized how much I missed planning it. But I never really acted up on it. Until a friend was getting married and for some reason I just had the urge to offer any help I can. People do tend to offer help but I was for certain serious about this. It started with researching photographers for her, until she asked me if I would be their wedding day coordinator. And of course I accepted it! Ever since then I have been helping with more weddings!

I really enjoyed making this project. I used Wix as the form of presentation. I actually ended up creating a mock website for my future business. Since I don’t have a business yet, this project make it seem more real, that my dreams are just within reach. It really made me think of how I would like to set my business apart from the competitors. It made me really think of how can I make my business stand out.

My project 2 is about my future business, Yours Truly Events, and the services we offer. Yours Truly Events is an up and coming wedding and event planning company.  Dedicated to serving couples and their families, the best wedding planning experience possible! Besides wedding planning and coordinating, we have services that provide assistance with pre-wedding events such as engagement parties, bridal shower, bachelor/bachelorette parties and rehearsal dinner. Additional services such as snapchat geo-filter creation, assistance with guest travel arrangement and many more are available as well.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Margo Brown, Tuesday, February 25, 2020

Hello, my Margo is and I am from Virginia. I have been event planning for a few years for family and friends and decided to take a course to learn more.  I am interested in seeing if event planning is something I could do fulltime.  I find this project to be interesting and the course in general.  It definitely is not what I was expecting.  I am happy I signed up for it.

I am planning with a couple that is getting married on July 4, 2020.  They selected me to coordinated their wedding and work with them to make their day a very memorable day.  They informed me that they wanted an outdoor wedding in the evening and their wedding party will consist of a best man, matron of honor and three attendants each.  The wedding colors are orange, dark royal blue and silver.  The bride and groom plan to wear white.  The style of wedding they would like is traditional, modern and outdoorsy.  We discussed a budget and they agreed $25,000 was their limit.  We agreed to meet next week so that I could do some research and work out some details for them.

At our next meeting, we discussed the time of the event, their attire and the bridal party attire.  The couple have a very upbeat personality.  We proceeded to discuss wedding attire and I laid out suggestions for them and showed them some pictures that walked them through the planning stages.  I noted that since the wedding will be held in July it will probably be hot and humid.  I also informed them that we needed a backup plan in the event of bad weather.  Immediately it was decided that the wedding would be held at a hotel that could offer space for the wedding in case of bad weather.  I wanted them to have an understanding of the details involved in planning the wedding so a gave them an overview and let them know more details will be needed.

I discussed wedding styles, jewelry, makeup, hair and shoes.  We discussed other elements needed to make their day special such as music, photography, food, save the date announcements, invitations, flowers, menus, cakes, wedding logistics for the day and for the guest.  Since this was the second meeting, I informed them that from this day forward each meeting will become more detailed and within a couple of weeks we should have a clear picture of their special day.  We needed to decide on the specific type of flowers, favors, the menu to address dietary needs and likes. I informed them that they needed to work on the music for the wedding and reception.  Of course, I let them know that I have suggestions for them.  Since timing is extremely important, I let them know we needed to continually work the wedding timeline.  We discussed meeting with the vendors and the contracts involved to lock in for their wedding day.  I wanted them to feel comfortable with me and to trust I will make their special day a wonderful experience.

CWEP Project #1

Updated: Monday, February 24, 2020

Hey, my name is Cheryl Wright I am just now figuring out that event planning is something that I want to do so I'm stoked to be enrolled in this class! I don't have any experience yet:/ but I plan on building a company from the ground up and be a full-time event planner.

This is my Project #1 mood board. I decided to do a gender reveal party instead of a wedding just to think outside the box a bit. So my gender reveal is for a newly wed couple, the Butlers. It's set to take place in the DFW metroplex and is a lavish spin on a typical baby shower.

Project #1

Posted By Hailey N. Boutwell, Sunday, February 23, 2020

Hi everyone! My name is Hailey Boutwell. I am from Burleson Texas and I am 21 years old and  I just got married last November! I have started this course because a few years ago I planned my friends wedding completely by myself, with no experience, no training or anything, and the wedding turned out beautiful! I absolutely loved every minute of planning it (even when I didn't know what I was doing!). A couple years later I planned my own wedding with no help, and I decided then this is what I want to do! My plan for the future is to own a wedding venue, and have packages where I can plan the events as well. My experience with this course has been great so far! There is a lot of material, but if I keep working hard everyday and staying on top of things I know I can finish strong. I work full time, and I'm trying to finish my associates degree, so it is a little hard at times, but the instructors have been so helpful throughout it all! I would definitely recommend this course for anyone looking to get into the business! In my project I made a wedding based on a blended family. The man is a musician and the woman is absolutely perfect for him and his daughter. They are not too picky, and love the simple southern life. The wedding is simple, rustic, yet elegant. Read to find out!

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Samatha Rice, Thursday, February 20, 2020

Forever Devoted Events is a wedding and event planning business in Oklahoma. I started this business for a career change and wanted to insert a new career filled with happiness. I came up with my brand based off of this fact. I work full time as an Emergency Room RN and realized I need more joy and happiness in my career in order to fully enjoy life for the short time I am here. My brand for Forever Devoted Events is in the name itself. I wanted a planning business that is here for the lifelong journeys of my clients. I want to help my clients plan not only their weddings, but also future baby showers, birthday parties or anniversary celebrations.

Forever Devoted Events has a Navy Blue background with peach lettering and design. My favorite color is any shade of blue and I already had the peach design throughout my website. I also chose the 2 birds over the clouds on both sides of the sun. I chose this design because I image the birds as 2 doves standing at the altar. I also personally love the stars and sky. I feel the birds above the clouds also represents my brand in the way that it symbolizes the two birds on top of the world, ready to conquer whatever comes their way together.

My journey for coming up with this brand took several weeks and multiple days playing with words and phrases. I went through a lot of logo designs and kept coming back to the one I have chosen. I discussed the name with my husband, and searched deep inside myself to figure out why I chose to go through with the career change. I have always strived for joy and adventure in my life and value my family and precious time.

My brand is targeting newly engaged couples, pregnant moms, or any event throwing female. As I said earlier I want to have a client for life, not just their wedding. I want my clients to see me and Forever Devoted Events as a friend to grow with through their life journey.

I have high hopes and dreams for Forever Devoted Events and am ready to start my happy journey!
