Project 3 Grand Opening

Posted By Ashley Bald, Wednesday, August 14, 2019

Hello Everyone!

Project three has no doubt been a challenge for me, as thinking through a grand opening was not something I thought we would be doing during our course here. However, I think it has forced me to plan ahead for actually starting the business and gave me insight on how to do so. I am excited to finally finish up the course and get started on my business plan and some start up essentials. I'm not sure what else to say except that this course has been amazing and I could not have even attempted to start my own business without it. I hope that everyone else taking this course is very successful in their businesses or entrepreneur endeavors!

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Nodette Mitchell, Wednesday, August 14, 2019
I must say project 2 has definitely given me an insight on how much thought needs to put in when starting an event planning business. This assignment has made me think of things that did not come to mind. Understanding that knowing and selling all the details to your potential client may or may not get you booked. This was quite informative for me and I certainly enjoyed doing this project.

Project 1

Posted By Yashicas Yaya Seals, Monday, August 12, 2019
Project 1 is a journey into an event about friendship, love, and celebration in NYC. Central Park is beautiful in the background as a rustic Gothic celebration for two people is created. It takes place near Central Park and it features Gothic and rustic elements. Dark table settings, rich lighting, and Victorian accessories. It is includes amazing autumn treats, live jazz music, and rooms of fun. This is event is a celebration of love and it mixes all the beauty of an autumn celebration with Gothic accents. I love finding inspiring elements on Pinterest for this marvelous event that Chasing Yaya Events brings into fruition.

CWEP Project One

Posted By Shelley Mitchell, Sunday, August 11, 2019

Shelley Mitchell here, Founder and Creative Director of BOLD Impact Events & Wedding Planners.  I've been a business coach for many years and helped small business owners start and grow their businesses to 6 figures while focusing on the right things.  We teach them how to speak and put on events such as book launches, conferences, trainings, seminars and more to promote and build their business.

It wasn't until recently that I offered to help a friend with their wedding and I got engaged that I fell in love with WEDDINGS and wedding planning.  In April, we shifted to focus on Wedding Planning and building a full service planning company for professional couples who are smart, educated, professional and are planning and financing all or the majority of their wedding.  It's not that they can't do, it's just that they don't have the time to do it and look to us to do it all.

Our goal is for me to do 26 wedding per year personally and to continue hiring/contracted planners in other states to work with us to grow our business, grow their business and build a national brand by doing a minimum of 50-70 weddings per year.

I just started Project 1 and while I've created a couple of mood boards, this project made me realize how easy it really is.  I also didn't understand how to post a pin (only share)

While our focus is weddings, I was hired to put on a 60th birthday party for a clients mother at a high-end seafood restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale Florida.  With 40 guests, we plan to use all gold and black decor for a classy, elegant, and fun theme.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Madeline Parker, Friday, August 9, 2019
Hi, my name is Maddie and I live in Atlanta, Georgia. As part of my submission for CWEP Project 2, my mood board depicts what I see for my future business. It reflects my style and some of my plans for marketing. I've been having fun with this program so far, but I have to say this project was harder than the first. It involved a lot more critical thinking and monetary calculations for the packages. Truthfully, I do not plan on starting my own business as soon as I get my certification, but it is nice to put in the work now so that I have all the tools when I'm ready. I hope you enjoy my blog!

Project 3 - Grand Opening!

Posted By Rosemary McNally, Thursday, August 8, 2019
Updated: Thursday, August 8, 2019
Hi Everyone - This is Ro McNally and I am happy to back covering the Grand Opening of Copper Bell & Co. Event Planning.  Our event will be at a beautiful lakeside winery for an upbeat, casual affair.  We have set the date for September 7th, 2019 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. est.  We will entice our attendees with wine & cake tasting that has a pragmatic business side, i.e. both the wines and cakes will be provided by, well researched, vendor partners. We also have a florist joining us who will be crafting small bouquets for interested guests, and who is providing floral arrangements for our raffle. Each guest will get a raffle ticket for every canned food/non-perishable item they bring for a chance at a flower arrangement or bottle of wine raffled off during our event. All donations are being given to a local charity who provides for people in need.  These vendor partnerships will create exposure for all parties and continue to grow our business relationships. We will be sharing tips & tools (high level wedding planning calendars; wedding party checklists) for all interested guests, and will, of course, be capturing all our guests contact information for follow up!   We have invited people who have attended recent regional bridal expos, as well as several members of our business community and the media.  This has been a great project to incorporate all the learning throughout this course, topped up with some fun. Thank you for sharing the journey. Best of luck!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Paulina A. Miloszewska-Doerfler, Thursday, August 8, 2019

Hello All,

My name is Paulina, I am 27 years old, I and am currently living in the Bahamas. Eventually, I will be moving back to my home country of Poland, where I would like to start my new career and own a wedding planning business. I would like to build up my experience in the industry and be able to cater to the needs and wants of my future clients to ensure they have a day more special than they imagined.

The course is improving my ability to manage certain aspects of the wedding that I had not previous considered, nor encountered during the planning of my own wedding. The building of relationships with vendors was of particular interest, and I appreciated the real-life examples given in the most recent video about wedding etiquette. These new insights allowed me to ask new questions and to prod my “client” in a new way to fully understand her expectations.

For this project, I chose a couple that are planning to get married in the future. All the ideas that I am including in the mood board are after consultation with the couple on how their dream wedding is supposed to look.

Monica and Michael are both in their mid-20s, and they plan to get married in August on the outskirts of Warsaw. They want a small wedding just for close family and friends, with a ceremony in a garden or field and somewhere where they are close to nature. All aesthetics are correlating to nature, simplicity, and a romantic atmosphere created by lots of lanterns and candlelight. The main colors of the wedding are white, green, and brown (corresponding to the woods).

To add a bit of fun to the decorations, there`ll be a bit of Disney film references like a “And They Lived Happily Ever After” board as a part of the ceremony decorations, guest signs with mirrors (e.g., Beauty and The Beast), and little snacks that reminds guests of fairytales.

CWEP Project 1.3

Posted By Lisa Blough, Wednesday, August 7, 2019
Updated: Thursday, August 22, 2019

For my Project 1, I decided to extend myself and go for a wedding theme I have never seen or know much about.  I did a Bohemian theme for a fall wedding in the North Georgia Mountains at a local vineyard.  It was challenging to be creative with a style I'm not as familiar with, but learned so much through the process.

I chose to use a wine colored bridesmaid dress and accent colors to tie in with the vineyards.  When I plan a theme for events I never want to go too over the top with it.  I choose to add it in with the mood and style of the event, but not literally come up with dozens of decorations that are the theme.

I love everything about weddings and am very excited about learning all I can to plan and prepare for clients to have the best possible experience.

Project 3

Posted By Deorate Wilson, Wednesday, August 7, 2019

Hello, My name is DeO'rate Wilson. My Grand Opening Project was set in an outside venue Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. During my grand opening I invited vendors, clients and sponsors for my foundations YMCA. I introduce my company and asked guests to donate to my foundation. I also set up where my clients and vendors could network which would assist me into getting my company name out there and their company name out there and help the client to meet vendors they may want to work with for their event when they book with me. This project was rewarding because it incorporated Project 1 and Project 2 together and it all came together in my overall business set up.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Michelle Ferrer, Wednesday, August 7, 2019
Updated: Thursday, August 15, 2019

Michelle Ferrer Events is a boutique luxury wedding planning business in Miami, FL. My inspiration is garden-style luxury. It feels luxurious, but still cozy and accessible. My colors are blush, green, gold, and white.

My brand is effortless luxury. The vibe is luxurious, polished, and gorgeous, but still attainable and intimate. I want brides to always feel like I am their polished best friend who knows how to throw the best party of their lives. My clients tend to spend over $45,000 on their weddings. They tend to have a garden look with indoor-outdoor aspects. Whether its floral installations or romantic outdoor bistro lighting, my clients tend to put a big emphasis on creating the right ambiance for the night. They are detail oriented and want to make sure their guests feel comfortable while experiencing excellent service, dining, and design.

Project 1

Posted By Nodette Mitchell, Wednesday, August 7, 2019

Hi my name is Nodette, I was executive housekeeper for 6 years. I am now a school food manager/nutritionist for the past year and a half. I took that job in order to have more time to grow my business in the weddings and event planning industry.

This project was quite interesting and  also an eye opener of how much thought and detail goes into planning and executing an event.I had a lot of fun designing this template. The details of this wedding is exactly something i would like to do.

The couple I chose tare renewing their vows after having a city hall wedding twenty five years ago. Their colors are shades of purple because thats the brides favorite color. The couple is looking forward to a day of celebration with family and friends for their love and devotion to each other.

CWEP Project 1 Emmanuelle Jean-Baptiste

Posted By Emmanuelle Jean-Baptiste, Tuesday, August 6, 2019

My name is Emmanuelle Jean-Baptiste, I am from Haiti, but I live in Brooklyn, New York. I was a project coordinator for a nonprofit organization in the Caribbean.

My goal is to become a leader in the Event Planning field by providing memorable events that will last a lifetime.  Since taking this course, I have learned how challenging it is to be an Event Planner.  But I am grateful for the skills I am receiving.

I am forming an event planning called “UNFORGETTABLE MOMENTS

Today my project will be on Samantha and Sebastian Journey to Forever. In a sunny Saturday, Samantha and Sebastian met along a visit in a car showroom in Queens.  As their love blossomed, love will become the stem of their authenticity, their passion, their commitment, their journey to the altar at 6:00 PM  on      Saturday 21 of December 2019 at Saint Thomas Aquinas church at Long Island New York.

They are a couple who had Six (6) months to plan their Big Day.

Hello, I am Yaya. I took the course to learn more about the business side of event planning. It has been fun learning and experimenting with Pinterest. I would like to focus more on events centered around the art world and sustainability. Working with local and international artists to create collective approach of uplifting consciousness using art.I look forward to seeing what will unfold as I think of growing this idea into a beautiful manifestation.

Project 2

Posted By Jazmyne Treasvant, Tuesday, August 6, 2019

Hello,

My name is Jazmyne Treasvant. I am from Fort Worth, Texas but currently reside in Irving, Texas. It was the experience of planning my own wedding to the love of my life that led me to become a professional wedding & event planner. I always had a passion for decor/design though. My experience in the class has been good for the most part. It can be overwhelming because there's so much to do in such a short period of time. I did learn a lot though. In this project (Project 2) I created a mood board of what I envision my company brand to appear as. Being that rose gold represents love, it is the perfect color for my brand as I journey with the couples that I will have the pleasure of helping.

Project 3

Posted By Tracey Succes, Tuesday, August 6, 2019

Hi, my name is Tray and I am from New York. I decided to take this class to further my knowledge and understanding about event planning. My Goal is to eventually launch my business and down the line work full time as an event planner. I think this assignment was a decent assignment, it wasn't my favorite, but it did help me to imagine what a grand opening would look like for a company that doesn't actually have a tangible product.

Hi, my name is Tray and I am from New York. I decided to take this class to further my knowledge and understanding about event planning. My Goal is to eventually launch my business and down the line work full time as an event planner. I found this assignment quite difficult because it really pushed me to thoroughly flesh out my brand. Overall, this by far had to be the most useful and helpful assignment in this course!

Hi, I'm Anna Taylor! I was a teacher the last 2 years, but I am now pursuing a career as a professional wedding planner. My business is called Toasted Affairs and I am so excited to get started on this new path!

I had a lot of fun designing this wedding template. This is certainly a wedding I would love to execute and displays what an ideal client looks like for me. The couple I chose to display is having a destination wedding in Maui. Their colors are vibrant and they are looking for a fun weekend with a lot of native florals and touches.

Project 2

Posted By Kaylene Ifill (Ifill), Sunday, August 4, 2019

Greetings,

Welcome to Luminous Star Events & Design when I first started this course I had no idea of how much work and detail went into planning an event.  It has been vigorous and a bit overwhelming however I’ve enjoyed every step of pushing myself towards my goal to become a Certified Event Planner. I love a myriad of colors but my favorites are Pink, Purple, Blue and Deep Magenta's, those colors speak to me and when I see them I think of the words Opulence, Grandeur and Extravagant, I want my future clients to feel this way at their celebrated events. I plan on launching Luminous Star Events & Design in the Fall/Winter of 2020, Project 2 has shown me how much more knowledge I need to acquire to own and successfully run a business.
