PBFD1 chapter 8 centerpieces blog

Posted By Juana Yvonne Perez-Saldaña, Friday, November 8, 2019

https://www.lovegevity.university/blogpost/1164123/334455/PBFD1-chapter-8-Centerpiece

   Greeting to all :

My name is Juana Yvonne, and as my last assignment for the FundamentalsFloral Designer Course I am please to show you the bohemian palette selected for all the final floral pieces.  The importance of this course in the floral  industry is to provide me with the fundamental knowledge to build a profesional carrier in the event and floral business.  My passion for flowers began more than 20 years ago. But my love for the field of art design been with me since the time of college.

The first design was clear glass vase arrangement using clear tape grid as a support for all the flowers. The arrangement was composed with peach gerber daisy, dusty rose  oriental lilies, hydreangeas, hanging burgundy amaranth, Ivy stems, and hanging pampas grass.  This vase would serve perfect as a welcome to an event arrangement or as end table decor.  The options to design the topiary were limitless, I opted to give it a English Garden look,  reflexiona 3 roses, exposing the darker burgundy color of the other petals and giving the opportunity of the dusty lavender to taker over the top part of the topiary made it romantic as the roses where surrounded by fully open spay roses and ivy. The centerpiece shared the same dusty rose, muted mustard yellow, burgundy and ivory with the addition of fruited fig branches, cascading  sunflowers, pampas grass and silver dollar eucalyptus. Perfect centerpiece for a  farmers table setup in the outdoors event. In the other hand the garland was made to decorate a piano, full of greenery ,white hydrangeas , mustard color pompon daisy  and one main sunflower. Small pumpkins and deer horns were added as non floral design.

as my last assignment complementing all the arrangements from the same palette, it was satisfied to see how beautiful and complete all the elements wrap around when colors are chosen with a feeling in mind.

I hope you take a look at my work, happy to read  your comments bellow.

Updated: Thursday, November 7, 2019

I’m the proud owner and lead designer and planner at Creative Wedding Decor and  Events. I am currently taking this course in Dallas and enjoying it thoroughly.

This project was a pleasure to complete. The grand opening presentation follows the required A6 steps and presents these six components of wedding planning through images and small text explaining the images and vision.

I decided to hold my opening at a grand hotel as I wish to combine wedding and event planning with grandeur, luxury and comfort. The theme of the opening was soft, chic and opulent.

Our company's mission is to design and plan a fusion or cultural wedding and to weave , heritage and culture within the ambiance of the clients' big day. We are a company who gains inspiration from design, color, and the fulfillment of helping others. These three encapsulate what Creative Wedding Decor & Events is all about. Helping others to fulfill their perfect day through creative, open-mindedness, and success. We will work with you through our affordable, creative and honest services in order to provide you with the perfect day that is stress-free, optimistic, and one to remember for the rest of your life."

The reputation we would like to set for our company and brand image is as being a company who is geared towards helping the clients to create a perfect event while offering affordable rates, honest service, and absolute perfection in order to make our clients happy. Our efforts in philanthropy coincide with this, as the charities we are particularly drawn to are working towards providing the needy and unprivileged with good education and making the very core of humanity strengthen with knowledge and education.

Hey y'all! I'm Vanessa. I am from the Virgin Islands, but I currently live in Richmond, Va. I am a supervisor for a telecommunications company. I want to be a wedding and cooperate events planner. This project allowed me to put into practice all of the great knowledge and insight my instructor has shared with us throughout the course. I thoroughly enjoyed it. She has such a wealth of information and I feel truly privileged to learn from her. This particular project showcases an upscale event that combines classic with modern. I was inspired to include details of a couple passionate about learning, teaching and giving back to their communities. I hope you guys enjoy!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Devin Duvall, Wednesday, November 6, 2019

Hi everyone! My name is Devin and I am a Pacific Northwest gal located just north of Seattle, Washington. I have been an event planner at Seattle's Woodland Park Zoo and Boeing tour center and brand home. I am starting a small business for event planning and design. So far this course has provided great tools to work with, such as Canva, that I had never used before. It is a helpful approach to staying organized and creating a center for design. I have enjoyed reading about the wedding industry so far and am looking to diving more into the technical parts of the planning.

This is a boho chic outdoor wedding designed for a couple in their mid twenties to mid thirties. The subtle natural colors of the table settings contrast with the splashes of color found in the decor throughout the venue. Flowers, rocks, and all things natural are abundant in the decor and party favors to create the feeling of being wrapped in a warm hug from mother nature.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Lesly Reyes, Wednesday, November 6, 2019

Hello Everyone!

My name is Lesly Reyes and I am from Northern Virginia. Prior to my current employment, I spent the previous years working for a spa where I held the position of event coordinator. I would plan spa days for brides and their bridal parties to relax before the big day. I already had a love for weddings but after planning these day-of spa events and being a small part of their big day it made me realize that I wanted to do more. I knew in my heart that my passion was wedding planning. My goal is to have a successful wedding and event planning business. I want to pride myself in working with a variety of clients from different cultures and backgrounds.

So far, I have had a great experience with this course. I am soaking up all the information provided from the assignments, textbook and discussions. Knowledge is key and with that I am also gaining hands on experiences. My instructor has provided so much material from what it is to be out in the industry planning events and I am so thankful that she is open and willing to share all her expertise. This project truly challenged me but also taught me that I am more than capable of planning an event from beginning to end. I still have a lot to learn but I feel more confident in creating timelines, budgets and communicating an event production to future clients.

I have planned an August fall wedding. The event will have a romantic, rustic feel. This semi-formal wedding will be held in a vineyard with plenty of wildflowers, greenery and pampas grass for the ceremony and reception. Tones of oranges, coppers, dark grays and greens will fill the venue space with rustic wooden signs directing guest throughout the event. With plenty of food, drinks and music, add in a sparkler couple send-off and this wedding will have guest putting their phones down to create countless memories.

Chapter Eight Assignment FD1

Posted By Irene Quezada (Grande), Wednesday, November 6, 2019
Updated: Wednesday, November 6, 2019

Hello All,

I am Irene and I am taking The Fundamental of Flower Design and wanted to share my designs that I have created based on the assignment request.  My inspiration for the design has been the inner child in me to Visualize, Create and Design the Unthinkable and this class has pushed me out of my comfort zone and has shown me that everything is possible. I have created a simple Topiary floral arrangement with Roses, baby breath and a gold ribbon but yet classy, beautiful and simple. Also, created a fruit and vegetable flower arrangement that is more full, colorful and unique that identifies how I could incorporate non flowers like an artichoke, yellow lemons and green apples and still demonstrate that is part of floral design and a combination of Greenery( Foliage) and flowers ( carnation) that I use in this Design. It actually really amazed of how incorporating different non flower items make a unique and beautiful arrangement and it is a product that could be offered  in restaurants and food industry as a decoration in there business.

I also created a garland out of Ruscus, Lemon leaves, and Eucalyptus seeded, and added burgundy with white carnations which I had so much fun creating it.I have never done this before an just experiencing the mechanics of a garland I have to much respect for it and the time and effort it takes to place it together. My inspiration for this piece was the holiday of warmth, unity and bonding.I love working with carnations because they last long, very good flower to work with and it lives longer than most flowers.

Hand tied Bouquet

Posted By Irene Quezada (Grande), Wednesday, November 6, 2019

Create a hand-tied bouquet with flowers of your choice.

I create bouquet that was very simple but romantic which included

3 White Hydrangea stems

Lemon leaves

8ea Fuchsia Pink roses

White pearl corsage pins

Fuchsia pink ribbon

I choose the use the Hydrangea stems due to The vigorously growing Hydrangea shrub symbolizes diverse meanings including: • Heartfelt and honest emotions of any kind • Gratitude and thanksgiving to someone else • Developing a deeper understanding between two people • Heartlessness and acting without thinking about the feelings of another • Frigidity and disinterest in a romantic proposal • Abundance and prosperity

The rose has many meanings which vary depending on its color. However any rose can be commonly seen as a symbol of: Love Honor Faith Balance Passion Devotion Sensuality

The color of the rose(fuchsia pink) was inspired from my son who loves that color. I have always been a romantic and love to express it by my designs and colors and love to design and create.

Posted By Jennifer Ruth Carlson, Sunday, November 3, 2019
Updated: Sunday, November 3, 2019

Hello,

I'm Jennifer Carlson and live in McKinney, TX.  Below is a mock grand opening, but hopefully I'll have a similar real grand opening when the time comes to kick off my business.

This course has been really eye opening for me and so much fun!  I love my instructor.  She's so down to earth with us and shares her experience in a way we can relate.  The book and assignments serve as a good guide for us.  They are challenging at times, and always take longer than I think!

Below is my press release:

Queen For A Day Event Planning is having a grand opening!  Come out to the Cotton Mill in McKinney to learn about their offerings.  Jennifer Carlson, owner of Queen For A Day, will be giving away a free event planning package worth up to $500.  Come out to register and win!  If you bring 2 cans of food for Empty Bowls McKinney, you will get an extra entry in the drawing!

Queen For A Day is having a grand opening and we want you to come out and visit us.  We offer event planning services for most types of events, including quinceaneras, "day of" coordination, birthday parties, baby showers, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, family reunions and corporate events.

Queen For A Day was inspired by Jennifer's own wedding in March 2019.  She planned her whole wedding and enjoyed all of the activities going into that.  Having had a "day of" coordinator to help the wedding day flow really put Jennifer at ease, and let her enjoy her special day.  Queen For A Day wants you to have that same lovely experience.

In conjunction with Empty Bowls McKinney, a non-profit organization to provide food to the hungry in our community, Queen For A Day will make a $200 donation to support their efforts. We are also asking guests to bring 2 cans of food to donate, and in return they will get an additional entry for the drawing to win $500 in event planning services.

Enjoy what you do, and spark joy in those around you.

CWEP Project 3

Posted By Tiphiny Phanh, Sunday, November 3, 2019

My name is Tiphiny and I've always been interested in planning weddings and events, but I never really had a structure to work off of. This course was very fitting because I learned so much about what goes into planning and coordinating a wedding. This project has taught me how to market and plan my grand opening. This is my mood board for my company "Nini's Wedding and Event Planning". It will be a dreamy and elegant event with DIY succulent terrariums, food, drinks, and live music. Vendors, venues, and potential clients are invited to this event.

CWEP Project 3

Posted By Ashten Brooke Burnell, Friday, November 1, 2019

My name is Ashten Burnell and I am working towards being a certified wedding and event planner through Lovegevity University Wedding Planning Institute.  I have a passion for planning and decorating weddings and events, as well as having a passion for using my creativity to help clients put together their dream events!

Now, picture a cold winter’s evening.  The trees are bare, the skies are a clear grey color, the tree branches are iced over, and a light snow is falling from the sky.  Even though the weather makes you want to bundle up in front of a fire, it still puts you in an aw of the mysterious beauty and elegance it possesses and the feeling it gives you.  With Ashten’s Events grand opening, we want to give you the same enchanted feeling that takes your breath away when you walk into the room (without the freezing cold temperatures of course)!

This event will be a great way to get our marketing material out!  Business cards and brochures will be handed out when guests walk through the door.  All in which will give out valuable information! Best of all, I will be able to meet potential clients and vendors face-to-face, and give recognition to the vendors who will help my the event possible.  My company and I are excited to host this event and get our company off the ground!  Also, it is also a great way to raise money for charity!  20% of all proceeds of this event will be donated to the Make-A-Wish foundation!

CWEP Project 3 Grand Opening

Posted By Lisa Blough, Monday, October 28, 2019

Hello everyone.  I have completed my study program and my last project for Lovegevity.  For my Project 3 Grand Opening I have planned an afternoon event at one of our local venues.  It is a popular spot for wedding ceremonies, receptions and even engagement parties and rehearsal dinners.

Due to this being a newer venue, they were willing to work with me on price as this will also be a promotion for their business.  They will promote my event for me on their social media as well as on their website.

I have a local caterer providing heavy horsdorves, champagne, wine and a dessert bar for my guests.  I have a travel agent coming to give away a discount on a honeymoon package as well as other vendors to set up tables with information for my guests.  A photographer will photograph the event for me.  I have a harpist set to play.

This project has been good for me to think about a cohesive plan to launch my business.  I had not planned to actually do this since I have already been working as a planner, but after doing the project I may do something similar to this plan as a marketing boost.  I think it could really help build my name, reputation and clientele.

Here are some elements to my design.

Relationship Education Review - Keep the Flame Burning Bright

Posted By Ahmed Sumiyah, Monday, October 28, 2019
This Article discusses the fact that most marriages at some point come to a place where the sparks or fire between the couple are not as bright as hey used to be. It's main focus is that a couple may find time together to rekindle the love they had for each other in order to make bring that spark back. The article does not ridicule couples who are going through this problem but instead brings light to the normalcy of the issue and that it is something that can be easily rectified with a little love and care.

My name is Abigail Obeng, I live in Mansfield, Texas. I have been a registered nurse for the past 12 years and had worked in various hospitals. Throughout my life, I have had a great passion for wedding and event planning. I did plan baby showers, birthday parties, and other celebrations for friends and colleagues. Starting this journey as a wedding event planner had been a dream, and I am excited. My first project assignment has been very interesting as I worked with James and Kathy to plan their wedding, which will be on September 19th, 2020.  James and Kathy grew up in the same neighborhood in Lubbock, Texas. They both attended the same high school but lost in touch with each other during their college years when Kathy's family relocated to Mansfield. At a recent Cowboys game at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium, they bump into each other, and this was where their love journey began. They remain inseparable, went on several dates, cruises, and did so many fun things together. During one of their vacation trips to Paris On September 19th, 2019, James proposed to Kathy. Their semi-formal wedding incorporates a blend of elegance with rustic modern themes. Wedding color palette includes burgundy, navy, gold, and white.

This was an amazing project to worn on because it gave me an opportunity to look into different stiles of weddings! for this assignment I decided to create mood board for southern elegant wedding in September. This wedding took place in beautiful historic Charleston SC. The bride looks stunning in her beautiful gown; the wedding favors is grits, a staple to Charleston. The newlyweds departed in vintage car was the perfect addition to this beautiful southern wedding.
