CWEP Project 1

Posted By Victoria L. Boyd, Wednesday, February 20, 2019
My name is Victoria Boyd. I am from Jasper, Alabama where I run our family owned small business. Our business is Victoria's Restaurant, Bakery & Boutique. We have been in business for 26 years. I manage our bakery and work with brides on a daily basis helping them design their dream wedding cake. I studied business at Jacksonville State University and always had a dream of working in the Wedding & Event Planning industry. I plan to open a wedding and event venue in this area in the next couple of years!

My experience with this course so far has been a little stressful. Working full time and taking this course has been more hectic than I imagined, but I love to be challenged and tend to work very well under pressure.

I am currently helping my childhood best friend plan her wedding and have used her and her fiancé as my inspiration for this project. They are getting married June 1 and plan to have an evening ceremony. We are choosing very neutral colors with a pop of blush and pinks in the floral arrangements. The decor for the wedding is rustic chic, leaning more towards the chic, classy side of that theme. The couple wants a wedding that encompasses everything about their southern lifestyle, but also with a touchy of classy, sophisticated charm.

CWEP Project 1 Mood Board

Posted By Suraya Abruzzi, Wednesday, February 20, 2019

I'm Suraya Abruzzi. I am from Chicago, IL. I currently work as an administrative secretary. My plan is to start a social event planning company and maybe even my own decorating company one day. I am loving this course so far. My instructor is filled with so much knowledge, wisdom and experience that she draws me in every time we meet and gets me so excited for the future of my business. This project was fun and definitely opened my eyes more to what it takes to be a planner.

My project consisted on planning a quinceañera with a Valentin's day color scheme. She was born Feb 13th so her parents wanted to celebrate with lots of pinks, reds and rose gold. It's a special day of transition from childhood to womanhood.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Nakita McCallum, Monday, February 18, 2019

My name is Nakita McCallum but I go by Kay. I was born and raised in Baltimore, MD. I now live in York PA with my husband and 4 girls, who I love and adore. I am currently an account manager and have been for many years.

I have always loved planning special moments for people. From the smallest intimate moments to the grand entrance occasions. I love to capture the moments that bring people and their relationships closer together. Happiness to me is always the key. The smile or tears of joy on a person’s face is priceless, once it is all said and done. Events and special moments planning are some things I have done over the years for family and friends. I am now taking this class to take my love and passion for this to the next level. I want to ensure that I understand all the ends and outs of the industry and to have a solid foundation to stand on. Helping people create moments in their lives that will last in their memories forever is my goal.

My experience so far in this course has been stressful and a little frustrating. Trying to follow the flow of the projects are confusing but I am working through it.

For my project, I am working with a couple where one is simple and one who likes things a little more extravagant. The wedding will be along the traditional lines but with glitz and glamour.

Hello all, my name is Crystal Thomas I live in Pennsylvania.  I have over 25 years plus of customer service, administration and business experience.  Event planning has become a natural part of my routine as I assisted family and friends with an assortment of events, which eventually lead to me being the go to “planner”.  I am taking this class to get more knowledge as I am turning my hobby into my business.  I love to service, create and help people.  The bonus, I will be paid to do what I love.  While the start of this course online has been a bit stressful.  I believe this course has so much to offer and in the end will be one of the best decisions I have made.   I am excited to take this course.

Mardi Gra Love Naptures

My mock wedding features a wonderful consultation with Jephthah (age 29) and Amarie (age 26).    After telling me, their wonderful love story.  They decided their colors would be purple, green and gold.  The following mood-board has some suggestions to match their personalities as well.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Casey M. LeBlanc, Monday, February 18, 2019

For my project, the couple is having a Spring wedding in Santa Fe, NM. The colors are shades of coral with gold accents. Guests are greeted with signage going into the ceremony, and waiter passed hors d'oeuvres going into the reception. The reception is on the lawn overlooking the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Individual sized bottles of champagne serve as favors.

This project was so much fun to dream up! I was so excited to see Pantone's color of the year is Living Coral this year. I love the neutral and muted tone color palettes, but I am SO looking forward to seeing COLOR being added back into wedding trends.

Hello!  My name is Megan Wills from Montana.  Currently I manage a small bank and run a wedding and event planning business that I started in 2016.  My goal is to manage and plan weddings and events full time.  This course is going to give me the tools I need to be successful.  The first project affirmed that this is what I am meant to do.  I'm excited to improve my skill set and learn as much as I can about the industry.

The mood board is for a nautical couple with a preppy side.  They'll be having a classic navy and white striped wedding with rope accents for texture.

Posted By Charmaine Roan, Sunday, February 17, 2019

Hello All! My name is Charmaine Roan and I currently live in Mansfield, Tx. I am excited to embark on this journey with Lovegevity and feel truly blessed to do so. Planning events is my passion and I am ecstatic that there is a platform for us to soak up as much knowledge as possible!

Attached below is my Canva mood board for project 1. My bride and groom want a very whimsical, green wedding. There will be lots of greenery, trees, and flowers that will set the tone for the wedding but also double as decor. Simple diy lanterns and jars will hang from the trees and serve as centerpieces. This all inclusive wedding will allow guests with special dietary needs, such as vegan-ism or gluten free, to enjoy, drink, and be merry. Guests will mingle with other adults but also be able to bring out the kid in themselves with a fun swing in a tree or a quick dash through the tree house. My clients want guests to remember the beauty of the ceremony but more importantly the beauty of nature, and the feeling of joy and freedom that can only be found in childhood.

"The sun is out the sky is blue, it's beautiful; and so are you..." - Dear Prudence by The Beatles

The theme of this board is Woodland Romance. The woods are magical, as they seem to speak to our history and there's a palpable feeling of coming home to a simpler time. There's a hush that, somehow, without cue, automatically falls upon you when amid the tall timbers in observance of all that remains unseen in those moments... but is profoundly felt. There is an experience in the woods like no other. Just ask the song birds; or your favorite pup. When choosing a destination to wed, call upon the generous opulence of the woods. The morning bells will surely chime.

Hello,

My name is Shirley Ward, and I live in Frisco, Texas. I have owned an advertising company for over 30 years and am looking for what my encore life might look like.  Event planning has always been a passion of mine, so it seemed like a great place to start.

Attached is my Project 1 mood board. This wedding is for a couple who love country, but want an elegant twist to it. The color palette is black, white, grey with touches of burgundy and pink accented with gold. The venue will be a barn and outdoor open-air chapel. Greenery and natural elements will be used in the decor along with brass and glass.

CWEP Project 1 - Canva Mood Board

Posted By Monica Tamargo, Wednesday, February 13, 2019
Updated: Wednesday, February 13, 2019

Hello,

My name is Monica, 26 years old. I am from Miami, Fl.  I am a Retail Manager for a high end jewelry store. Ever since I was a little girl I have always dreamed of planning a weddings, let alone, my own.

I have always known this is what I've wanted to do for so long but just never got around to taking a leap of faith and doing it due to troubles I have had in my life. I have been at my job for 8 years. Loyalty, yes it I  know. Who wants to work retail for the rest of their life? No one. I have been over worked (18 hour days 6 days a week), been away from my family and friends and etc. Unfortunately, it has taken me way to much time to realize I CAN DO THIS.

This is my passion. I want to do something I love so it does not feel like work. I want to make someones special day the best day they will ever have. I would like to take this course and open up my own event design and planning business.

Attached below is Project 1. I wanted to create a wedding that would be full of romance and pure elegance.  I truly believe a wedding should be timeless, you can never go wrong with a neutral color scheme.  Greenery is a key element to adding the perfect touch, it adds a very tasteful touch without over doing it.

canva mood board

Updated: Tuesday, February 12, 2019

Hey my name Cara Kohr, I am from Plano, Texas. I have been in retail since I was 15 and finally realized what I am good at! Party planning. I started planning parties for birthdays and new years when I was turning 22. I had a Luau. Next birthday was a Toga/Greek party. Everything on those parties was very decorated to theme, food was to theme and everyone dressed up accordingly! The next big party I did was a 1920's new years party for going into 2016. I was 24 at that time. I spent so much on that party and over 30 people showed up to my little house. I found so much decor on amazon and ebay. It turned out amazing! I then got engaged at the end of 2016, my wedding was in the spring of 2018, I planned and coordinated my own wedding to the T, the venue coordinator was very impressed with me, I had photos of what the tables should look like so that whoever was putting the table together, would make their life easy. Everything ran so smoothly on set up. The actual wedding I was so sick! My maid of honor had to step in and run everything. I knew after my wedding I needed to do this for real in my life.

For my first project I will be doing what I excel in, a themed party! A story book wedding, where all the tables are different. Each table will be a different book, and each table will have a different chocolate favor that will depict the book theme. There will be a mirror photo booth, that slightly represents something from one of the books. There will also be some signature drinks at the open bar, the drinks will also represent the books. There are traditional colors for the wedding, light blue and lilac, those colors will be in the wedding party and some of the tables if they have a flower arrangement will have those colors but will still represent the book and also the wedding cake.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Carolyn Kenney, Tuesday, February 12, 2019

My name is Carolyn Kenney, but most of my friends and family call me Lexy. I currently live in Carrollton, Texas and work in Flower Mound as a Preschool teacher for 11 beautiful 3 year olds. My dream when I was in high school was to plan events for charities and non-profits. I worked as a event assistant for a social work firm in college and decided that I wanted to pursue more of a career in events than social work. I am not sure if I eventually want to plan weddings, however, I am excited to learn more about the business behind the events to help start my own event business for charities.

I personally love greenery and gardening so I wanted to plan a lovely Spring outdoor wedding with all different shades of greens. The event will be a small intimate gathering with just family and a few friends. The greenery style wedding theme give a very relaxing feel and if very aesthetic and pleasing to the eye.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Sarah B. Siewsankar, Tuesday, February 12, 2019

With enthusiasm and love for weddings, my ventures of becoming a wedding planner lead to Lovegevity! Attached is Project 1, of a couple ultimate big day–their wedding! My expected clients’ perfect day blueprint unfolds unto the mood board capturing the rich dimensions of the theme gold and white of a modern traditional ceremony.

The story of how this couple met isn’t any less magical than their wedding, carded June 2019. In celebration I envisioned details of sparkles, glitters and a welcoming atmosphere; that’s also mystical to their 200 special guests, who would receive intricate gold laser cut invitation cards hinting the type of wedding they will be attending and their time of arrival.

The altar design settings for the elegantly attired bride and groom as well as their bridesmaid and groomsmen, are inspired decor of gold/white drapes arched with white scented flowers/roses; and to the flickering of lit candles even along the aisle to the soft classical music in the air creating that indoor enchanting ambiance for all. The most awaited moment of the ceremony is the exchange of rings by the bride and groom as a blessing of their bond of everlasting love and devotion.

Marvelling the guests to golden lit candelabras with white/green floral centerpiece on their dining tables and similar décor throughout the room add a luxurious feel. The menu preparation of delicious food, drinks/cocktails, deserts/appetizers and the exquisite gold shimmery roses/white wedding cake definitely meant to satisfy their taste buds whilst enjoying entertainment with friends and families. All welcoming guests would be greeted with signature tokens of appreciation for their presence to the couple’s memorable day.

Thank you

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Selene Bermudez, Tuesday, February 12, 2019

Hello

My name is Selene Bermudez. I am originally from Mexico. I reside in Florida. I am currently working as a business analyst for an energy company. I do a lot of research and use PowerPoint and Excel a lot.  Before I left Mexico, I started a Wedding Planning business with one of my cousins. We had a business plan in place and started organizing weddings together. It was a lot of fun, but then I came to Tampa University and met my husband. My best friend and cousin continued the business in Mexico and now I want to start my own here in Florida.

My goal is to have a Wedding Planning business that could offer destination weddings in Mexico.

My experience in the course has been favorable for the most part. I still think that for the online classes a little bit more personal contact and direction would go a long way.

In this project I decided to create a dream wedding taking place in Mexico. It was important for the couple to honor the culture by allowing guests to enjoy the food, the music, the attire and the decorations to make them feel like they were in a truly original Mexican wedding. I hope you enjoy the images!

My name is Raba Nemri, and I'm from Dallas TX. I had big plans to follow my passion; I wanted to do something that I would love so much, it wouldn't even feel like work. Planning the perfect wedding, an absolutely flawless night would be my dream job.  I want to help loved ones and family members celebrate the union of two people in the most wonderful way. A night where memories will be made, a night that people will forever remember and talk about!

Having an outdoor location that could be customized to your personal preferences will make your wedding special and uniquely yours. Outdoors wedding venues give you the changing beauty of nature throughout the year. natural light is soft and elegant. It is unique, the moment a photograph is taken, and it can't be reproduced. Just like your wedding day! Planning such a memorable event is what I seek to provide.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Tracy Alvarez, Tuesday, February 12, 2019

My name is Tracy Alvarez and I have been in sales most of my life.  I have always enjoyed travel, food and throwing parties.  I grew up in Holland, Pa which is about 30 minutes outside of Philadelphia.  Starting in high school and most of my young adult life, I worked in hotels, bars, and restaurants and loved the camaraderie, energy and fast pace of the service industry.  After college, I became a flight attendant for American Airlines which gave me the travel bug and brought me to my second long term hometown, Chicago.  Upon the birth of my first daughter, I started working for a small family owned paper company which enabled me to  work from home.  At this point in my  life, my passion stalled and my interests were put on hold.  However, after the death of my mother in September, I decided to take a leap of faith and start living my life with passion rather than continuing for another 15 years in a company that sucked the joy out of me.  I want to prove to myself and my teenage girls that you can follow your dreams and be successful.  I want to be a shining example to them of exactly what I preach so they can enter adulthood with the confidence to do what they truly want to do.

For my first project, I am hosting a 50 and fabulous birthday party. Over the course of  a weekend this Spring, friends and family will help her celebrate this milestone which includes a whirlwind trip to Chicago for a rejuvenating visit to a spa, some shopping, an amazing dinner at Quartino followed by a night on the town! For this special event, the colors black, silver and gold have been chosen because they represent glamour and power to the birthday "girl".
