Hello everyone! My name is LeAnna, and this is my Project 2. I have learned a lot about wedding and event planning by taking this course, but I have also learned a lot about myself. I'm very grateful for the opportunity I've had to do these assignments.

Project 1

Posted By Felicity A. Santana, Sunday, November 17, 2019

Hi, my name is Felicity Santana, I'm 22 & I was born and raised in the Bronx, NY. Before I decided to take this course, I was in college studying to get my Spanish Degree. I think that being bilingual will definitely help me with any future business ventures.

I plan on starting out my event planning business soon and hope to get to a point where I can do events for people that may not be able to afford them or people who haven't been able to experience a formal event.

Doing this project really put everything I learned throughout the course into perspective for me. I was able to plan a baby shower for someone and be as creative as I wanted to be. The baby shower is Disney themed, for all of us who want to experience what being a kid is like again.

Welcome to our Grand Opening!

Posted By Felicity A. Santana, Saturday, November 16, 2019

Lotus Wedding & Event Planning is having their Grand Opening. It'll be in New York, NY. I'm SO excited to announce the grand opening of our wedding and event planning company! This is one event you won’t want to miss!

Being in this course, I've learned a lot about myself and how important it is to have efficient communication with people. I've also come to appreciate the little things that make an event more memorable. It's so interesting to think how a certain type of fabric or if there's natural lighting versus artificial lighting, could greatly change the feel of an event.

For project three, I decided to be a little creative and incorporate a couple things that you might not see together. I wanted to appeal to all the senses in this Grand Opening and treat it as if it were an event I'd be doing for a client. This will be my first business so I want to make sure everything is perfect!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Constance Viloria, Saturday, November 16, 2019

Hello everyone,

My name is Constance but I go by my nickname Pia. I am very excited to plan my best friend's wedding, which will be in the beautiful island of Bali, Indonesia in June 26, 2020.

I consider myself very lucky and honored that that my very first wedding to plan is a beach destination wedding, because I know it requires a lot more effort considering the fact that I am not physically located in Indonesia. Naturally, the theme will be very "beachy" with lots of shells and starfish in incorporated in the decorations. We will stick to the light blue and sand colors as well. The ceremony will be held on top of a cliff, overlooking the ocean approximately 30 minutes before sunset. She wanted their first kiss as a married couple just as the sun is setting for that magnificent, romantic glow that will definitely set the mood.

My best friend has always been a fan of tropical destinations, and Bali is very significant to her and her fiance because their trip to Bali 3 years ago is their very first international trip as a couple. It is no surprise that they want to share their beautiful moment with their friends and family in the same place that gave them so many great memories as a couple. We are all so excited!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Marlisa Rebaum, Saturday, November 16, 2019

Hi everyone,

My name is Marlisa and I´m from Portland, Oregon. I work as an alteration’s specialist at David´s Bridal and love being part of the business of love! I take great joy in working with brides and want to guide them through even more of their big day than just making the dress a perfect fit. I´m hoping to start my own wedding planning business in Portland.

I have really enjoyed learning about all the details of weddings so far, be it the different types of flowers or the colors that work well together. I love planning events and really enjoyed this project. It almost felt like a hands-on experience, since it was the first event that we got to plan for the course.

The wedding I planned for this project is for a couple that met working at a ranch. They both love horses and the country lifestyle, that´s why the horse and country theme play a big part of their wedding decorations, attire, favors, and even the games. The wedding will take place in a barn in Oregon in October next year.

CWEP Project 1

Updated: Friday, November 15, 2019

Hi My Name is Lakisha Wheeler-Lambert. I took this class because I really like weddings. I enjoy the planning and execution of these events even more. I am taking this class as a way to learn to do a better job  in planning events in the future. I am also hoping to incorporate events planning with Human Resource Management.

My couple name is Albino and Shantasha. Though they both lived in the USA they wanted a destination wedding. Due to Shantasha being born in Tobago, Trinidad and Tobago, and have so much fun memories of the island and the fact that she still has family there that she has a strong relationship with, it was the best place for them to celebrate. The colors of choice is pink and brown. Since they both have Caribbean back ground, Albino parents are born Guyanese, he spent a lot of this childhood and teenage years there. The wedding has Caribbean aspects, as in the flow of the wedding. Being both young adults are from the Caribbean they enjoy a good and fun fill day of food drinks and 'soca' music. The wedding is being held at Villa de Lena. Both the ceremony and the reception is held there.

CWEP Project 3

Posted By Kendra Dougherty, Wednesday, November 13, 2019
Hello All! My name is Kennah Buckaloo! I currently reside in Frisco, Texas where K+J Events is also based out of! Below is a mock presentation of the businesses Grand Opening (would be amazing to one day be able to do this!)

The Atmosphere will be set to be fun and festive with vendors at all three venues at One Preston! There will be events for the children outside such as an all-white bounce house, balloon maker, and even a kid’s crafts table! The idea is to incorporate the kiddos into the event so the parent(s) can see that even K+J Events understands that children need to be thought of! It’s also good for those birthday parties that need to be planned!

We will Market from our website (see website below), as well as through ads on Facebook and Instagram. During the show we will have a booth set-up that will have our business cards, and packaging information. There will be an Ipad set-up, as well, allowing Couples to sign-up for more information.

K+J EVENTS: Unique Event Planning For You!
K+J Event wants to welcome all couples to their Grand Opening on Sunday, March 15, 2020 to not only experience a fun day but to meet vendors!
Experience what it would be like to have an event through K+J Events as you walk into The Carriage House and see all types of vendors.Whether it’s tasting caterers food or taking pictures in a photo-booth or even playing the yard games offered through different decor companies; K+J Events has left no detail out!
Once you experience the magic of The Carriage House, make your way to the Country Chapel where you will not only find more vendors but a guest speaker at 3pm!
The third stop will be The Victorian Estate. While this venue at One Preston is meant for smaller parties, it is perfect to host a Bridal Shower, Baby Shower, or even a Corporate Retreat! When walking through there will be more booths with more vendors to ensure that there is something to fit any couples need’s!
Don't’ forget to Stop at the front door of The Carriage House to sign-up for our Wedding Giveaway; One lucky couple will receive their wedding from their choice of the vendors that are at the Grand Opening! Also, we are taking donations for Texas Cares Cat Adoptions; if you bring a 3 lb bag (or more) of cat food you will receive an extra entry into the giveaway!

"How to" Advice, Tips, Templates & Resources for Pins

Posted By Jennifer Ruth Carlson, Wednesday, November 13, 2019

HI all,

This is my "how to" mood board, which has some tips and ideas for my future clients.  I like the DJ Booth, as it hides all of the wires and equipment.  Paper flowers are really cool, and something you can make months ahead.  A living wall is something I just saw at a venue last night, and it's such a cool backdrop for photos (not to mention good health effects)!

Project 2: Selling your services

Posted By Lia Diogo, Wednesday, November 13, 2019

I am Lia Diogo.

For project two I made a presentation for a couple who approached me (my wedding and event planning company “Events by Lia”) to plan their wedding.
Their Christmas Eve wedding is close to my heart since my husband and I were married on December 24
th as well.

“Events by Lia” plans weddings, other social events like birthdays, baby showers and anniversaries as well as small corporate events.

Although still in the beginning stages I hope to gain more clients and to grow my business by being full of ideas, creative, honest and reliable.

For the time being I will focus on the local market in Westchester (by advertising in local newspapers and presenting myself at local events), but eventually I hope to service clients in the whole state of New York as well as Connecticut and New Jersey.

When I eventually move back to my home country, The Netherlands, I hope that I can set up a unique business with the experiences and knowledge I have from my time in the US and the courses I took at Lovegevity University.

Project 3: Grand Opening

Posted By Lia Diogo, Wednesday, November 13, 2019

Hi students,

I am Lia Diogo, I live in Westchester County in New York and I really enjoyed organizing the Grand Opening of my own wedding and event planning company. In my press release I announced this as follows:

"Friday November 15th, 2019 is the date for the Grand Opening of Rye’s newest business venture:  “Events by Lia”.
Owner and Certified wedding and Event Planner Lia Diogo moved to Rye in 2016 from her native The Netherlands, with her Portuguese husband and 2 daughters, when her husband’s job required them to move to New York."

So far I have really enjoyed the course. Although a lot of work I loved doing all three projects.I learned so much.
When I started the course I didn't really intend to start my own business, but I have begun to realize that this is something that I can actually do!!

My Grand Opening is an elegant cocktail party for my friends, family, (potential) clients and vendors with a "pink" theme, as you can see in my mood board.
I really hope that I can plan my real "Grand Opening" soon!!

Project Three

Posted By Wanda Bryce, Monday, November 11, 2019

Hello,

My name is Wanda Bryce and thankfully I am just a few weeks away from completing this course. I am so excited to see how I can use the skills I have learned from all theses assignments. This Project three in particular really challenged me to consider the actual day my business will officially launch and I appreciate that. By doing this assignment I had to really put my thinking cap on and think as two in one by playing two roles. I thought as a planner and thought as my ideal client looking to myself to create the perfect event. I had to do some research to solidify my plan and I ended up gaining new knowledge which I find very important in this industry. Overall, like most of the assignments, this project was incredibly time consuming but the feeling of ticking it off my 'TO DO' list as completed was worth it. I have one assignment left and can't wait to complete it as well. God luck to you all, happy wedding and event planning.
