CWEP Project 1

Posted By Sherry Boudreaux, Wednesday, February 27, 2019

Hello, my name is Sherry Boudreaux, I live in Katy Texas.  I am wife of 32 years and mother to 3 beautiful daughters; Raven, Eden and Scarlett.  I am an entrepreneur, and have been for all of my adult life.   I spent 10 plus years as a national makeup artist traveling the Midwest region for some very big names.  My current passion involves fashion design and custom made men’s clothing.  I offer everything a man has in his closet, from head to toe, a formal tuxedo to polo, 5 pocket, even golf attire.  The most recent addition to my accomplishments, residential and commercial holiday decorating.  I am also a member of NCL, (National Charity League), we are a philanthropic organization where mother and daughters volunteer their time and resources to charitable events.  Within this organization I have had the pleasure to chair several events and serve on the decorations committee for our Sr. Recognition in 2018 and again the one coming in 2020.  This event will present 26 senior girls all wearing white and being presented to the 400+ guest attending.  It’s event like these that have inspired me to pursue a career in event planning.

The vision I had for my mood board is a classic winter wedding of black & white, with red added for dramatic effect.  The bride will wear a long white lace dress that we replaced the back corset ribbon with red ribbon.  The Groom would be decked out in a red tuxedo jacket with the customary black vest, pants and bowtie.  I would have the bridesmaids all in red long gowns, groomsmen in black tuxedo with red bowtie & cummerbunds.  The flower girls in white dresses with red sachs.  I see a black carpet as the isle lined with red rose petals.  Everything about this wedding screams elegance and class. The beautiful couple will celebrate their reception and make memories that will last a lifetime.

What I have discovered over the past two weeks is this class presents far more detail that I originally imagined.  I am excited to expand on what I do know, build relationships with not just vendors of the industry but also with those event planners and coordinators in this class and my surrounding area.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Kirsten L. Sparks, Tuesday, February 26, 2019
Updated: Sunday, March 17, 2019
Hi everyone, I'm Kirsten Sparks. I am 22 and have always wanted to be a wedding and event planner. I am getting married this fall and am taking this course while planning my own wedding. I have a 9 month old daughter named Hadley. Currently I am working as a server at a local restaurant but I know that isn't what I want to do as a career. After completing this course and setting up my business my family and I are planning to move to Tennessee, our favorite place on earth, and start our lives there. I'm hoping to work with some of the companies I already know of in the area we are moving to for weddings as well as do wedding and event work on my own with private clients. I eventually want to grow my business to be an inclusive service and have other employees that help me out with the tasks that come with planning and coordinating a wedding or special event. For this project I chose to do a wedding, a very elaborate one at that. I chose to do a fairytale wedding full of glits and glamour without the constriction of a small wedding budget. I wanted it to be formal and over the top. I loved getting to use my creativity in this project. I also enjoyed learning how to use Canva for the first time. I can't wait to use it as a design tool in the future! I have loved putting this project together and getting to choose all of the features of this wedding.

Introducing Me

Posted By Kaisha Simons, Tuesday, February 26, 2019

Hello everyone!

My name is Kaisha Simons and I am 20 years old. I am from my small island called Bermuda but I relocated to Providence, RI for college. I have always been interested in the wedding business but never knew which aspect I wanted to be in. I currently attend Johnson and Wales University where I get my AAS degree in baking & Pastry Arts in May. At first I wanted to be a wedding cake designer and be included in the wedding field that way, but than I realized that I liked the planning side of things as well.

I started this course online back in October and I have learned so much over these past few months.  Though some of the assignments were challenging for me I still grew and learned what it takes to be successful. I am glad that I joined Lovegevity University and hope that I continue to connect with other people as well. Though I am not currently ready to jump into creating my own business right now I am glad that this program has allowed me to still have everything ready and in place for when I do launch my business.

Hello!

Posted By sandra Alonso Rivas, Tuesday, February 26, 2019

Hello everybody! I'm Sandra Alonso, I'm a current student at Lovegevity University studying an online course of Wedding Ç& Event Planning. I'm almost done with it and I feel so motivated to start in this industry.

I've been working and studying Hospitality for many years and a few months ago I start thinking that this is not what I want for my future. I wanted to be my own boss, and I wanted to work on something that makes me happy and fulfilled; so I started thinking something that I like and it is related to Hospitality (i didn't want to lose all these years of studying and experience). I didn't need to much time to realize that weddings are something that makes me happy and I think to be able to make a perfect and dreamed wedding for someone is very fulfilled.

So here I am, finishing my course and ready for the future, excited for what is about to come and for the possibility of having my own business.

Hope the best for all of you,

kisses!

Assignment 1.3

Posted By Charlene Jefferson, Tuesday, February 26, 2019

Hi!

My name is Charlene Johnson and I am from Bellwood Il and I love everything about event design and décor.  I have been an event planning team member and lead planner for over 18 years. I have worked on events Corporately, Hotel Nonprofit and for Profit as well as educationally. When working in corporate America I was given the opportunity to take classes to learn more about the ins and outs of this industry and I was hooked.

Always being considered a out of the box thinker, this project allowed me to come up with a vision of what a perfect event would look like if it was for me. The challenge for me was creating the vision boards online via Pinterest and Canva. I come to understand there is a lot to learn when presenting to clients in this day and age.

For this project I created a appreciation gala for women who have gone over and beyond with their community work as well as what they offer those outside their areas. The event was a black tie gala at a golf course club where all the glitz and glam that women being honored deserves

CWEP Project 1

Hello everyone! My name is Ruth Cantarero and live in Hempstead, Tx. I am a Marketer currently working in advertising and also as an Event Coordinator. I have helped organized 6 weddings in the past and other events. I have enjoyed doing it so very much, but I know I need to learn the right way to do it.

I chose a Country Chic Wedding for a friend's wedding. I know how she has always wanted to get marry outdoors and outside a church (traditional), but also have an outdoor reception that goes beyond the traditional style. It is a combination of simple, elegant, and country style. She loves the quietness and peacefulness you can enjoy out in the country.

Before taking this class, I did not know where to start a wedding planning process and all the tools that can be very helpful to plan a successful wedding until finishing Project 1. Project 1 guided me through every step of a wedding planning process.

Updated: Tuesday, February 26, 2019

Hello!!! My name is Leena , basically I am a psychologist ,worked as  a student counselor in past. But since 8 yrs I am moving with my family and living expat life. It has helped me a lot in understanding the values of different culture.  Also resulting in a very adoptive personality and of having good communication skill.

During my journey I got opportunity to organize company's events and was positioned as activity coordinator. It was very challenging and exciting to organize events for global mass . And to my surprise I was awarded  for my work as a Activity coordinator. Since then I kept on growing in my work and handling same position at different  locations . So my graph is little different, moving from corporate and personal events to wedding event management .

Design and Fashion I am always passionate about . I am very thrilled to learn such an detailed management program with Lovegevity University . My only concern is the IT part (using apps) , hope I can handle it well . About  my today's board  assignment ???? I managed to do with great difficulties But so happy that my learning would be more vast then I assumed.. .... yahoo  I am on !!!!!

My today's board is all about love ......,and luxury  associated with it . Its all about once in a life time event ( memories),it has cultural reflection ......to a color scheme of Pearl and Maroon ... peal is calm and maroon is the color for energy .... love the river side location ... with abundance nature .... to a luxury of traditional weave and jewelry .... love the simplicity of gazebo , aroma of fresh flowers and prayers !!!!   hope it inspires to you all too !!!!!

CWEP Project 1

Updated: Friday, March 1, 2019

Hello, my name is Lauren Bernard and I live in Houston, TX. I currently work in the oil in gas industry as an administrative assistant and I am a single mother to a beautiful 5 year old daughter. I've planned parties since high school- prom, birthdays, baby showers, holiday parties, etc and its really something I have always known I've wanted to do. I like to think of myself as a diamond, I shine better under pressure, so yes I love all the stress that event and wedding planning brings because the outcome is so satisfying to my soul.  I couldn't imagine not doing this for the rest of my life! Along with weddings, I would like to plan date night events for couples in different cities and special proposals for couples as well. My main goal is to be a wedding planning in Houston and in Atlanta!

This is our second week in the course and I am extremely excited for whats to come- meeting vendors, building my list, networking and hoping to get internships for weddings and for fashion shows. For project one, I was inspired by a couple with two totally different styles calling it a 'Luxury Bohemian' wedding. The ceremony will showcase the brides style having a nature feel with it being outside surrounded by tall trees, Persian inspired rugs for the runner, candles and lanterns for decor. We then will incorporate the grooms luxury style for the reception bringing in black acrylic, gold accents in decor, and white flowers. A second line band will escort the couple, wedding party and guest out the venue incorporating the brides creole culture!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Shirley Ward, Monday, February 25, 2019

Hello, My name is Shirley Ward. I live in Frisco, Texas and am taking the CWEP class at Collin College.

I have had a career in advertising for over thirty years and am looking into areas that I enjoy to keep me motivated and involved in my encore years.

The inspiration for my Project 1 wedding was my nephew and his fiance'.  They are an adorable, young professional couple who LOVE country music and country dancing.

They plan a December open-air wedding which, in Texas, means you can plan on almost any weather.

Although they love country music, they are a modern couple and want their wedding to have an elegant side to it.

Both of them have lost their mothers recently, so I have included elements that will honor their mothers and make them as much a part of the ceremony as possible.

Posted By Stacy Daniel, Monday, February 25, 2019

Hi everyone

My name is Stacy and I’m just super excited (despite serveal hiccups) to be here and to share this platform with fellow crazy about planning folks.

So far I am so very impressed with the content of the course. It has exceeded well beyond my expectations. At this point I think it so very important to be certified and well informed so I can put my best foot forward doing what I love best!

I had previously been working on creating a blue wedding and I’m in the midst of pairing it with different soft color options that I think could match perfectly. Below is midnight blue(stunning) with blush(soft and beautiful).

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Kaitlynn Hollowell, Monday, February 25, 2019

Hi! My name is Kaitlynn and I am originally from Virginia but my husband is in the military so we now live in North Carolina. I work in education and child care but I have always been interested in event planning and wedding planning so I am hoping to transition into that. My goals and plans as a professional wedding/event planner are to one day have my own business and do a lot of military and beach weddings since those are the two most popular things in our area.

My experience in this course has been nothing but positive. My favorite thing about this course are the online discussions. There are so many topics to listen to and learn from. This project was so much fun because I was able to help my aunt in law (if that is a proper name for it) get married. It was so much fun helping to plan her wedding.

For this project I helped my husbands aunt plan her wedding. She wanted the color scheme of maroon and to also incorporate birds somehow into the invites or something else. She did not do a reception so that was very different compared to other weddings. So I am presenting in this collage some of the ideas regarding the colors of the dresses, flowers, and cake.

Assignment 1.3 Moodboard

Posted By Alexa Gonzalez, Monday, February 25, 2019
Updated: Tuesday, March 12, 2019

Hi, my name is Alexa. I work from home and I am also a stay at home mom. I have three children, two in school and the other still at home with me. I love throwing parties, being organized, and meeting new people. I can not wait to start this new journey and learn new things that can help me start my new career as a wedding and event planner. I am hoping to start my own business after this and I can not be more excited!

For my project, I went with a shabby chic wedding theme. I went for light colors, mostly pinks and whites. I wanted to incorporate a fun, non traditional event. My wedding will just be a reception, which will include lots of food and games for everyone to enjoy. I will be having 250 guests so it wont be so big but I have a good budget so there will be a lot to experience at this wedding.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Shelly Schuetz, Saturday, February 23, 2019

Hi my name is Shelly and I’m located in Richmond, VA.

For project 1, I chose an outdoor venue to bring Tammi’s vision of an island inspired ceremony and reception for her family and friends.  The invitations will set the stage for an outdoor wedding inspired by simple, lush flowers that can be found both in the islands and in Virginia.  Her shoes and her braided hair with a simple, but beautiful floral hair accessory were chosen in consideration of the elements of an outdoor September wedding.  Their guests are sure to be inspired by the couple’s love of nature.  Tammi chose a beautiful, vibrant teal blue color which is the perfect combination of the lush green landscape of the venue and the blue tranquil waters of the ocean that can be found in the islands.  The signature drinks were chosen with the bride and groom in mind; a refreshing non-alcoholic fruity drink and a rum inspired drink.  The food was inspired by island cuisine and the music is sure to transform local guests to their birthplace while making their family feel welcome to the couple’s home in Virginia.  The gift for the wedding party and out of town guests was complete with a coconut infused water; dried nuts and fruits; lip balm and sunscreen; and sunglasses to provide guests protection from the bright sun and heat that can be found in Virginia in the late summer.
