Regina and Mark's Natural Wedding

Posted By Farah Rizvi (rizvi), Monday, March 9, 2020
CWEP Project 1- Hi, my name is Farah and I'm an aspiring wedding planner from Queens, New York. Regina and Mark's wedding aesthetic consists of a prevalent beige color which collaborates with the outdoor feel they are going for. They want to promote and enhance the outdoor feel but want to stay somewhat traditional with their simple wedding cake and clothes. The women's dresses are consistent with the beige theme but the men's suits give a stark constrast with a deep blue. The main colors are beige, white, green, light brown, and blue. Don't let the outdoor look fool you, this gathering is still elegant in every way possible!

BLOG YOUR MOOD BOARD

Posted By Dawn Velez, Monday, March 9, 2020
Updated: Monday, March 9, 2020

My name is Dawn Velez and I am born and raise Bronx, New Yorker.

Before my current job as a Director for Campus Events in a small, private, Catholic College in the Bronx, NY, I worked in a Corporate establishment and I was a Sales Executive Administrative Assistant and Event Planner.

I believe after I receive my Certificate as a Wedding and Event Planner, I will have an better understanding of the industry, the policies, guide lines and terminology which will make me a better planner professionally and personally. Having the experience will allow me to have the confidence to expand in the future in the industry.

So far, I am learning new things on what is expected for the three types of wedding planner which I didn't realize there were different categories; planner who is from the very beginning to the end, the designer, who is the creature and the coordinator, who’s the person on site the day of. I'm finding I'm more interested in the designer to coordinator of interest.

Enclosed/Attached is my Blog Mood board Submission. It's base on a wedding in a Castle venue with Rose - Gold color schematic for a royal flair for a Prince and Princess.

CWEP PROJECT3 ~ Grand Opeaning

Posted By KARYN GANDY, Saturday, March 7, 2020

K Inspired Events Grand Opening will be held at Ashton Gardens venue located in Sugar Hill Georgia. The date of the event is set for the 29th of May of 2020 from 6-10pm.  This will be a great opportunity for many professionals of the wedding industry to network at the same time that they connect with potential clients.

I will be advertising my Masquerade Theme Party on social media, my blog and submitting press release to the different media options in the area like local newspapers and radio stations. Once we have an idea of how many people are coming, the formal invitations with the RSVP's will be sent. Tickets start at $15.00 online and $20.00 at the door.

Part of the Monies raised from the ticket sales will go to an organization called Skagit Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Services which helps family’s victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Olivia Porter, Saturday, March 7, 2020

Hi, my name is Olivia and I live in the Central Florida area. I've worked for Disney as a lifeguard and done a lot of jobs related to recreation in the guest service industry. I have a minor in Event Management though and have interned with wedding planners/vendors in the past, and really wanted to pursue my dream of starting my own business. I found this program recently and I'm so excited to get my certification in wedding planning and get Livvy Marie Weddings off the ground.

This project was so much fun to work on, but definitely very tedious. I enjoyed all the research that went into this project and getting to practice making a website on WIX. There is definitely a lot of details that go into wedding planning, that couples and even I, forget about, so I'm glad this project forced me to keep track of all the vendors and decisions that were made throughout the planning process and previous assignments.

My project centers around my wedding couple Abby and Jesse and their dream of having a Paris/Music themed wedding. The wedding itself is elegant and has a purple, pink, gold, black, and white color scheme. There are musical elements hidden throughout the decor, as well as, Paris themed accents to really make the colors pop and tie the two different themes together in an elegant way. Attached is the mood board I created that demonstrates how all the colors and ideas come together.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Katie Blomberg, Saturday, March 7, 2020
I enjoyed working through this project and finding ideas for this rustic summer wedding. I was inspired to look for elements that were light and effortless so they would not compete with but enhance the natural beauty of the setting. It was challenging but fun to learn how to use Pinterest in a different way and create my own mood board. I look forward to using this information to help future clients create a vision for their wedding or event.

CWEP Project 3

Posted By Manny Mandapat, Saturday, March 7, 2020

Manny's Event Designs will celebrate its Grand Opening! Vendors, clients, and associates are invited to the event. Our company brings to the San Francisco/Bay Area the know-how's and services available to help clients plan for their special event. Whether it is a wedding, corporate, or fundraising event, we provide services from the "day of services" to full planning at an affordable price.

I decided to become an event planner two months ago. It was right after I helped plan and design my department's holiday event party. The compliments and thank you I received motivated me to take action. After doing research on schools and programs, I decided to enroll in Lovegevity's Wedding Planning Institute. This course taught me a lot about the wedding industry, such as how to book clients, vendor and bridal interviews, pricing strategies, starting and marketing your business--just to name a few. Just recently, I did an internship with Kevin Lee. This experience taught me the importance of teamwork, communication, problem solving, organization, responsibility, time management, and adaptability. Now that I am nearing the end of this course, I am not only grateful for what I have learned, but I am ready to use the tools needed to become a certified wedding planner. Working on this project allowed me to experience what a Grand Opening event would be like, while learning the process of creating a brand/design that represented my vision and mission.

For this project, the Grand Opening theme is the "Roaring 20's" and "Jazz Age". The theme represents bridging the past with the present. One of the business objective is to include old-fashioned principles of the past, while incorporating the current designs, ideologies, and technology of today. The company's brand is bold and centered around the revolution of freedom--freedom to be innovative, freedom to think outside the box, freedom to marry who one loves. During the 1920's, people started breaking out of the "prim and proper" ideals into a free-spirited attitude. Today, in 2020, we seem to have that same nonconformist and freethinking mentality. Life just seems to be moving at a fast pace, people are always on the go. This new sense of freedom and opulence is perhaps what clients are looking for in planning and designing their own special event. Manny's Event Designs can definitely do our part in this process.

Project 2 Blog Post

Posted By Christianna Casey, Tuesday, March 3, 2020

I am Christianna Casey, founder of Casey Events. A soon-to-be graduate from Virginia Commonwealth University, I plan to embark on my Event Planning journey in Summer 2020. Though I am new to the professional event planning industry, I am a planner by nature and I have helped plan and manage events for friends, family, and school organizations for years. And I am excited to start working with clients to create the events of their dreams!

I will pride my business on creating lasting relationships with clients and planning memorable weddings and events. Personal interactions are key to building the kind of relationships I want to have with my clients, so a lot of emphasis will be placed on referrals and marketing at bridal shows.

I would descried by vibe as rustic/boho with a slight mystical or whimsical flair, but I also enjoy planning events that have a more modern elegance theme. The colors that I feel best represent my business are evergreen greens and dark red accents.

I feel like my journey in this project started with small steps. I first came up with a business plan, but then as I worked on the project more, I got a firmer and firmer idea of what I wanted this business to become. Now, I feel as though I have a fairly strong concept of my brand.

There are many wedding and event planners out there, but I prides myself on working with clients from all walks of life, with a focus on budget-conscious planning. This is especially great for young couples. I especial would like to focus on couples who are taking a nontraditional approach to their big day.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Ashley Rennie, Tuesday, March 3, 2020
Project 1 was confusing at first, but after watching the tutorial it became much easier. It was interesting to learn how to tie canva and pinterest together. I picked an ethnic wedding theme so I can learn and understand the culture in order to plan an ethic wedding successfully.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Sakenim Echikwa, Tuesday, March 3, 2020
Hi my name is Sakenim Echikwa! Working on Project 1 has been a very enjoyable and eye opening experience for me. I have never planned an a wedding or any other major event before, but I have always been drawn to the concept of initiating, managing, designing, and coordinating events. What I love most about events, especially weddings, are that they are major life moments. This is a time where you and your loved ones all gather for the same cause to celebrate life and the achievements that come with it as well as to close one chapter and usher you into a new chapter; whether it be a graduation, birthday, baby shower, wedding, etc. I am particularly excited to learn what it takes to make such events run smoothly and provide the maximum impact for all those involved.

Project #1

Posted By Adrianna Villa, Tuesday, March 3, 2020
Hey, I'm Adrianna villa, I'm from Triton College, and my instructor is Desiree Moore Dent. CPWEP. My goal is to learn about the business and how I can make it into my career, i'm still very young and I haven't really planned anything big but I have done some birthday party's for friends here and there and I really enjoyed it. I would love to learn as much as I can, so I can also be successful as many of you are on here are or want to be. So far I am really enjoy my class time and I have learn so much! I opened my eyes to so many things, things I never thought of. Doing this project was a bit hard and it did take a long time to get everything done but i know that's not enough time to actually do this. But it was also very fun! I love trying to get everything I needed for this event and making sure it was within the budget. My event I choose was Quinceañera. I told my friends about this project and one of them wanted to be the sample. I was fine with it but my other friend got jealous because she wanted to be the sample. So I thought of it as a double Quinceañera. it was a lot of more work because I had to look for everything but double.
