CWEP 1

Posted By Danielle Fortner, Wednesday, June 26, 2019

My name is Danielle and I am from Spring Hill, TN. Before I got into wedding coordinating I worked as admin in an office for a roofing company. I hope to build up a solid wedding coordinating business in my area so that I can be home more with my daughter.

My experience with the course so far has been positive. I am learning a lot and am looking forward to using what I have learned with my clients. I absolutely love the webinars I think they provide great information.

For project 1 I showcased a rustic garden themed wedding. The color scheme was blush pink and white. And the décor was designed to give off a romantic feel.

CWEP-1

For Project -1, I decided to choose Rustic Amish theme yet add a soft eclectic feel to Stephanie’s and Vikram’s wedding next year on August 12,2020.

The bride Stephanie and the groom Vikram’s  childhood had been on a rustic farm where they lived in 2 different parts of the world  in a small rustic house and both learned to churn butter, bake bread, and store provisions for winter and lived in .Though they were born and raised  in two different parts of the world , Stephanie being born and raised in Oklahoma , United States and Vikram being born and raised in Punjab, India, yet they both shared common ethics and strong family values.  Because of their rustic farm background I thought of depicting picturesque rustic scenes as a part of their rustic theme wedding. I decided to use white and orange lilies where white signifies the epitome of beauty, devotion, new beginnings and orange signifies passion
The main color scheme of this wedding is rust, ivory , orange , brick color which would be found not only in the attire of the bridesmaids, flower girls , bride’s gown, grooms’s attire, bride’s bouquet boutonnières, corsages, floral arrangements, arch gate/backdrops but also in the tulle fabric that will be used to drape the walls and ceilings with string lights woven into the drapes. In order to enhance the rustic setting, I thought of using red petals with ivory satin aisle runner. Envisioned the bride walking the aisle  on the red petals. To add to the mood of the wedding ceremony, I decided to have 2 band artists playing saxophone and piano in the background as each ceremony progresses. After the final ceremony is over, and as the bride and the groom walk back down the aisle as husband and wife there will be the tossing of rice on a newly married couple. The tossing of rice on a newly married couple symbolizes fertility, both for the couple and their crops.
For the guest tables I decided to use mason jars as the centerpieces with baby breath flowers and LED candles. All the centerpieces on the guest tables will be placed on top of the round wooden logs cut & customized per the table size. There will be a wine cork place card holder on each guest table. The head table would have mason jar settings much bigger in size with elaborate floral arrangements , extra leafy accents and eucalyptus greenery. Lighting on top of the head table will include small round hanging orbs, iron  lanterns with soft LED lights and  bulbs. The 3-tier wedding cake will stand on a customized round wooden log engraved with the bride’s and groom’s initials,  enveloped with baby’s breath and tea candles. The champagne toasting glasses will be monogrammed with the bride’s and the groom’s names along with the wedding month/day/year. Continuing with the rustic setting, I chose unusual containers such as milk pails , crates, reclaimed wood barrels , wooden and chalk sign boards , wooden isle and tin cans to blend with my floral setting. To add a soft eclectic feel to the wedding , I decided on a music band which will play the mix of country, hip hop, swing  techno, classical along with the 80’s & 90’s rock. To add to the continuity of the Rustic and Amish theme, I decided to use vintage cars for the bride’s and the groom’s parents arrival, 1939 Rolls Royce for the brides’s and the bridesmaids arrival and a vintage bus for all the guests arrival to the wedding ceremony venue. And after the wedding ceremony is over, the bride and the groom will ride in a horse driven Amish carriage from the wedding ceremony to the reception banquet hall. There will be a bubble and white LED light up balloons send off before the Bride and the Groom hop into their 1959 white Porsche  and step on the plane got their cozy honeymoon  to Antigua basking in the sun on a beautiful private beach at Coco Bay resort .

Project 1 mood board assignment

Posted By Laurel Barber, Tuesday, June 25, 2019

Hi, My name is Laurel Barber, from Gainesville, Florida. I have been always been the friend to plan the parties and events, and I finally decided to turn my passion into my paycheck.

My couple is a couple in their early 30's who met at an adoption event for dogs in need of a home. They both wanted the same dog, and the gentleman let her have the dog, as long as she gave her number and let him visit. :) They fell in love over their mutual love of animals, tattoos, and rock music. For their wedding they want to mix class with a touch of edge!

Posted By Farah Siddiqui, Sunday, June 23, 2019

Hi, I am Farah Siddiqui and I am originally from Pakistan, currently enjoying this amazing certification course in Dallas.

By profession I am a Textile Designer and had privilege to work with some HI-end fashion houses back home . Also I have some experience of event planning as I have shadowed designers in their fashion/launch events.

My CWEP project 1 is about a young, vibrant yet traditional couple, who are high school sweet hearts. They come from a huge family background -traced back to the royals of subcontinent- and have their values and heart, deeply rooted with their traditions and culture.

After "she said YES!", the couple and their families are planning a grand wedding ,which will reflect their royal back ground and love for their traditions and culture. The theme will be "A Royal Affair".

CWEP Project 1 Mood Board

Posted By Stephanie Corliss (Horne), Thursday, June 20, 2019

Hello! My name is Stephanie Corliss and I am a resident of Orlando - the hospitality heart of Florida! I currently work as a Supervisor for Resort Activities at a resort by Disney World. I always had a knack for event planning while growing up and threw small parties, but it truly became apparent that it is a destiny meant for me after I planned my own wedding back in October. Ideally, I want to help DIY brides or couples, who like myself, do not want to have the cookie cutter wedding. I want my client's wedding to reflect them as a person so all their guests- and themselves- leave their wedding saying, "That was so beautiful and SO them!" I decided to embrace a wedding theme and inspiration with this project to execute my ideal event end result. With this project, I was able to see that the Central Florida market has so much to offer for the event planning business that I will be able to adjust and adapt so a lot of different client's perfect wedding vision.

With this project I have enjoyed picking a New Orleans inspired ceremony and Mardi Gras inspired reception for the couple who want to bring the NOLA Flair to their Central Florida wedding. There are subtle nods to both New Orleans and Mardi Gras with the hot sauce, beads, and beignets. I am going to utilize ivory in a lot of the decor so to tone down the purple and gold.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Hazel Lasat, Sunday, June 16, 2019
For this assignment I went with a rustic barn wedding. The main color scheme of this wedding is sage green which can be found not only in the attire of the bridal party, but in the succulents used on the wedding cake, and extra leafy accents used in the bride's bouquet. I feel that the sage green fits well in a rustic barn setting because the color goes well with wooden accents such as reclaimed wood, barrels, and crates. This was a very fun assignment that really got my imagination going.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Danielle Fortner, Friday, June 14, 2019

My company name is Grace Events. I named the company Grace Events because my daughter's middle name is Grace and it is because of her that I am even able to start this business. I also think that Grace Events has an elegant and sophisticated tone to it. The colors associated with my brand are light blues. I wanted my logo and website to display elegance and calm. I want clients to feel comfortable and confident in choosing me as their wedding coordinator and believe the tone conveyed in my business name, logo, and color scheme will help potential clients feel this way.

When I was thinking of how to set up my brand, I knew that I wanted it be convey a sense of elegance and romanticism. I wanted it to convey these two things because weddings are obviously romantic and are usually elegant. I wanted potential clients to know that I understand these features about weddings.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Yessenia Jarvey, Thursday, June 13, 2019
My wedding board was inspired by a romantic floral theme. I wanted to stick with a elegant white floral vibe for the most part. Although I did add some blush pink as an accent color to the white and green floral theme. I loved the pink drinks with the beautiful flower inside as a beverage. As for food I went with pizza which at first seemed out of place but when I thought about it more I thought it was a fun touch. Sense the theme was revolving around romance I thought adding a gourmet pizza would remind people of date night with pizza. Overall I love the floral look to weddings. I wanted something that would be breath taking and glamorous for guests to be around. This assignment was so much fun and allowed my creativity to spark.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Yosibel Garcia, Tuesday, June 11, 2019

My name is Yosibel García, I am from the Dominican Republic.I am 20 years all and since I was 13, I´am working events with my mom who is an Interior and event designer . Created my love for events since then. It was last year were I understood that weddings are my passion among all the other events. I have always have a passion for wedding I have participated in two weddings as my mother´s assistant and I´ve loved the experience. This year, decided to study wdding planning. I am a business management college student and I´m almost done with my career. We have a company named Place It Right  and we do all types of event, but my plans are to create Place It Right Weddings. I will love to be a successful wedding planner. I am a very detailed and organized person , I like thing to be on their perfect and right place. I have plans of moving to Florida within two years from now. I will want to start my wedding company and lovegevity has  help me a lot. This project was amazing, I loved planning every single detailed of it. It is my first project working by my own creating a wedding from scrash. I have worked a lot in events but with my mother, but with this project I had the opportunity of creating every single detail of it. It was amazing for me.

For this project I chose a theme to work on a signature wedding. The theme is Musical Wedding were the bride and the groom are unique and have a passion for music and art. The color palette of this wedding is dusty blue, gold and white. The reception will that place at a restaurant called Mecenas Cultural Cafe. This place is also an art gallery, one of the wonders of this place is that is both indoors and outdoors. The wedding will take place in both settings. When guest get there, there will be a group of violinist receiving them at the entrance. There will be a beautiful guest book to sign and a champagne wall to receive them. The amusement will take place outside, there will be the dance floor, the DJ and the band. On the inside there will be all the table set. The good thing about this place is that both inside and outside communicate so it will be really easy for the guest to enjoy every part of the event.  As for the attire, the bride will be wearing a beautiful white mermaid dress and the groom will wear a navy blue tuxedo. The groomsmen will wear gray tuxedos, while the bridesmaids will be wearing different styles of dresses but made with the same dusty blue fabric. The bride wants all of them to feel good with what they are wearing and to show their personalities.  The decoration will be amazing, there will be long tables with gold metal chairs, the center pieces will be mixed, some will be a complement of a musical instrument and flowers and the other ones will be tall floral arrangements. There will be beautiful linens and the table setting will be detailed and delicate. There will be a buffet and to receive the guest after the ceremony there will be hors d´ouevres. There will also be a dessert table with a great selection of sweets. A perfect way to make the groom fell special was adding a crepes station as part of the wedding appetite. For the appreciation, they will give there guest a little wooden music box with one of their favorite songs "La Vie en Rose". This wedding will be perfect.

Project 3

Posted By Marianne Dzikas, Monday, June 10, 2019

Hello everyone, my business is M.P.T.D EVENTS. The overall purpose of my business is to cater to almost any and every client ranging from high end to those who cannot afford the most extravagant wedding. Although that may be hard to do, I believe that it is possible and may actually result in the ideal clients that I'd rather work with. Throughout this course I truly felt that I began to find myself and have a better sense of direction of where my life is going. I have learned a vast amount of information in such a short period of time and value all that this course has offered me.

My project is displayed as one that I think captures the eye and shows the humble simplicity that my future company could offer in a sense that you don't need to be rich to get what you want out of your big day. M.P.T.D. EVENTS mission is to show how to make your dream day possible even with the smallest of budgets.

CWEP Assignment 1.3

Posted By Sandy Akard, Monday, June 10, 2019

Hello! My name is Sandy Akard from Runaway Bay, Texas. My company is Hearts Desire Events.  I chose this name based on the scripture from Psalm 20:4 "May He give you the desire of your heart and make all of your plans succeed" I am 50 years old and just getting around to working on the career path that I have "desired" for some time now. Planning weddings, parties, functions, etc. has always been something I have really enjoyed.  I have coordinated and designed a few weddings in the past and found it to be such a rewarding process.  I also have experience in themed birthday parties and milestone anniversary events. My goal is to become a Certified Wedding and Event Planner so that when I am able to leave my full-time current job, I can really do something I love for as long as I want to work.  This industry provides great flexibility in the size of at a person can choose their workload according to their own wishes and lifestyles.

For this assignment, I have created a mood board based on some of the pins I used to design my own wedding.  The color scheme was purple, silver, and navy. This was a destination wedding in Eureka Springs, AR. There was an appreciation dinner following the wedding at the Best Western Inn of the Ozarks Convention Center for those guests who made the trip.  It was catered by Mertie Mae's Restaurant. The main reception took place in Decatur, Texas two weeks after the wedding. The bride (me) prefers a modern clean-lines design, while the groom is an outdoors man who works with wood as a hobby.  Therefore, this wedding is themed "modern woodsman" and includes both modern design and wood touches to blend the two perfectly!
