Assignment 18.6

Posted By Kylie Gardner, Tuesday, March 24, 2020

Hi everyone! My name is Kylie and I am a recent college graduate looking to get a start in the wedding and event industry. I actually graduated college with a degree in English/Commuications, but halfway through my senior year I started working as an event planner for the admissions department at my school and fell in love with event planning.

I recently got a job as a wedding planner with a small business near my hometown as an assistant, and began taking this course shortly after to get some experience in the field. I also work at a bridal shop, which I absolutely love.

The information and resources I've gotten have not only helped me, but I also plan on sharing them with the other planners that work in the small business where I'm starting. Also, although I don't need any of the small business ownership things yet, I'm so glad to have them for the future if I ever decide to open my own wedding planning business.

I'm excited to see what the next few years hold and I'm grateful to Lovegevity for helping me fulfill my dreams!

CWEP Project 3

Posted By Michelle Zayas, Monday, March 23, 2020
Updated: Wednesday, March 25, 2020

Newport News, VA- March 14, 2020- Good Time Wedding and Events, also known as GT Wedding and Events is proud to announce the launch and Grand Opening of their new business. We have brought together a great foundation of entrepreneurs that have a desire to bring togetherness in Hampton Roads. GT Wedding and Events has brought 20 years of combined experience. From hospitality, finance, business management and of course event planning. The event will be held at our location. There will be appetizers in the courtyard and then inside for the silent auction. We will have music and dancing. A great event not to be missed.

My great experience in this course is something I will cherish always and I have learned so many factors in the wedding and events industry. I must admit I am not very savvy with creating websites, canva, and doing blogs, but I can definitely say I am no longer scared to do these things. The grand opening project was fun to do because I can see myself in it at all times. Designing the theme, being present and talking to clients, eating wonderful food, picking out thank you gifts. Helping the community is a big to-do on my list as a business owner and while I help my business grow I can fundraise for children's programs.

Project 3 was based on summarizing everything I have learned about the wedding and event planning and applying it to creating my own Grand Opening. The grand opening will host local vendors and businesses to mingle with potential clients and create a buzz about my business. I described everything from announcement, atmosphere, appetite, amusement, to appreciation. Everything I used was resources of my location: neutral beach colors, auction items, invitations, all added up to my grand opening theme. Along with having my Grand Opening, there is a silent auction and the proceeds will go to the Boys and Girls club of Peninsula Virginia.

The plants, flowers, and attire creates a relaxed environment for the ceremony and reception. It gives you the summertime vacation vibes, allowing all the guests to relax and have fun.

Posted By Dayna Magdalena Burleigh, Sunday, March 22, 2020
Hello! My name is Dayna and I am taking this course to become a certified wedding and event planner. I am a mom of three daughters and I am currently a physical education teacher for elementary students. I was born with a LOVE for creating. My mom was an artist and I grew up learning and loving all aspects of wanting to create and make beautiful things. This curiosity has led me down a path of many different creative outlets. I love to decorate my home with unique findings that speak to me. I have been creating jewelry for the past 20 years. I am an artist that loves to create pottery, an abstract painter, and a collector of vintage things. I fell in love with creating and planning my daughter's wedding. After planning her wedding, I found my true calling. This calling has led me to find this class. After creating and planning my friends daughter's weddings, I knew this was where I am supposed to be. Lovegevity and Shamica Sweat have helped me with this dream. I love our class and I love learning how I can start off my planning business in such a way that I feel I am already achieving my dream!

capitulo 3

Posted By Maria Enriqueta Delgado, Saturday, March 21, 2020

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Biza Bemak, Friday, March 20, 2020

Hey!

I'm Biza, and I'm from Vermont but currently live in Colorado. For the last 5 years, I've been teaching PreK-8 Music and continuously feeling like it's not the right fit. Nothing parallels how much I love love or that magical feeling that comes with helping a couple's dreams come true on their special day. I finally decided to take that passion seriously and pursue certification as a wedding planner. I don't have any prior experience in the industry, but I have helped friends plan and coordinate their weddings, and I honestly don't think there is anything more rewarding!

I am planning a Harry Potter themed wedding for a couple planning to get married in the next couple of years. The couple wants Ravenclaw colors throughout their special day, Harry Potter decorations and food, and subtle Harry Potter themed touches in their attire. It has been such a blast starting to plan their magical event!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Tania D. Baston, Thursday, March 19, 2020

My name is Tania. I am a 45 year old middle school administrator in Saginaw, Michgan.  I currently supervise middle school students and teachers.  I have helped plan and coordinate weddings for family and friends (for fun) in the past. I absolutely loved it.  I would like to continue planning and coordinating as a side occupation.

I began the course but began to feel overwhelmed with keeping up. I took a few weeks off but now due to schools being shut down because of the coronavirus, I am back at it.  I am so excited about everything I am learning in this course that I didn't know before. I look forward to continuing my learning.

I am excited about the Walker Wedding. These are my first clients since taking this course. They wed in August of 2021.  Their theme is mint and peach.... It's a Walker Whirlwind that was Mint to Be.

CWEP Project 1

Updated: Thursday, March 19, 2020

Hey Y'all!

My name is Maria Peerenboom and I am from Nashville, Tennesse! I am SO excited to be apart of this Wedding Planner course. I have always dreamed of becoming a wedding planner and now I am making that dream a reality. I am naming my company Happily Ever Afters and my mission is to help each couple create a beautiful day that will be the start of their happily ever after. I love organizing and planning events and building relationships with others, so I am ecstatic to enter into the wedding business.

I have created a mood board for project 1.3. I have loved working on this project. It was so fun to look at all the elements that go into creating a beautiful wedding, the 8A's were very helpful to learn about. Focusing on the couples vision is key.

For this project, the couple wanted a spring romantic wedding. The wedding will take place in May in Nashville. The beautiful couple wanted a blush color scheme. They wanted their wedding to encompass the happiness that they bring to each others lives. They wanted others to experience and be apart of their special day. That is why they have a twinkly light photo booth for people to take pictures of and remember this special day. Their favor is also a plant that their guests can take with them and plant in their own gardens, so love continue to bloom. It was also important that their guests felt welcomed which is why they had the welcome sign be the first thing their guests see. The centerpieces, accessories, cake accents, and bridesmaids dresses are all blush to add to the romantic feel. The flowers that are used as centerpieces and bouquets are light and romantic. This couple was so happy with the final product!

Posted By Amandine Tollitte, Thursday, March 19, 2020

Hey !

I am Amandine, 27, French and already an event planner in my country. Being married to my American Soldier will bring me to the US shortly so I decided to follow this class to get the certification and be able to work there. It is challenging because the work method are different and so is studying in English but I am beyond excited.

About the couple : Their dream wedding is getting closer (May 2020) and they picked the "Casino" theme. They want red and black and a very "furnished" decoration. It is not a very common theme but this is what they like : not do do like others.

Here is my board attached !

Hello, my name is Dimitri.  I absolutely love planning events. I have done it for lots of my friends.  Generally, when people see how I decorate they tell me I should do it for a living.  Well, I finally took them serious so I am now at school to see if I can create a career doing something I love.  I am planning a Great Gatsby themed wedding for two people who I think will be getting married.  I happen to know the bride to be pretty well, as she is my daughter.  She loves vintage stuff, old Hollywood Glamour.  I named my company, Eventastic Happenings.

Hi from Frisco, Tx.  I'm Judy Woolfolk and will complete the Lovegevity Certified Wedding & Event Planning course in mid April.  I have learned so much in this course.  We have a great class instructor, Shamica Sweat.  She has been a successful planner for many years and has given us so much valuable information and material that we can use in our new business.  My partners and I have already received our LLC designation from the state and are finalizing the other pieces required to create a new business.  We plan on launching our business in early summer, if Covid19 allows it.

PROJECT 1- PLAN A WEDDING-BOHO WEDDING

Posted By Melissa Jaramillo Beltran, Wednesday, March 18, 2020

My name is Melissa Jaramillo and I am from Colombia. I used to live in the US a few months ago but I am currently working as an event planner in a hotel in Colombia.

I am Tourism manager and I decided to take this course because I love working in events. Additionally, I am planning to start my own wedding planner business.

I really like this course because I think I have learnt so many things that will help me a lot to build my business.

John and Jennifer are a couple who have been together for 5 years. They decided to get married in April 2020 and they will celebrate their wedding at JW Marco Island beach resort.  The theme from the wedding is blue with lights around and the bridesmaids will wear light blue dresses. the ceremony will be semi-casual,

I have decided to capture my best friend´s ideas for her wedding. She is going to get married in April and she wants a hippy bohemian wedding with a simple and organic decoration, soft texture and rustically touch at the beach. Also, the natural vibe is the key of the party.

https://krystaldean86.wixsite.com/bamockwedding

Hello,

My name is Krystal Dean, I am from Fort Worth, Texas.I am currently a full time Intervention Instructional Coach in Texas. I am taking this time to pursue my dream to help people celebrate some of the most special times in their lives. I have always had a creative side and have been helping friends with events for years. After recently helping my sister plan her wedding and planning my friends wedding, I decided to go for it and take the time to get my certification. This is something I want to pursue full time! So here I am ready to learn everything I can in order to have a successful business.

I have enjoyed my experience in this class so far. It has challenged me in many ways. Having a specific formula to plan events has totally changed how I plan events. I have always had organization to things but the A6 and A8 formulas have changed my mindset on how I plan things.

My couple wanted a  traditional black and white after five affair. Clean lines for the invitations, place setting and ceremony space. A low lighting ambiance to create a sense of romance. The wedding and reception will take place in a historical building in their hometown of Fort Worth, Texas during the fall.

18.6 Blog Post, This Process

Posted By Madison M. Bynum, Sunday, March 15, 2020

Hey ya'll (can you guess where I'm from),

I am Maddie, from Tennessee! I started this journey with this course over a year ago... I know that is a long time. I started this certfication in plans to use my wedding planning services mainly in the summer months, while I am off work. I work in a school setting, therefore have the summers off! Anybody else doing this? It has taken me so long to get through it because I have been doing the assignments very thoroughly, and additionally while I have been in graduate school AND planning my own wedding. So, a lot going on at once. But I finally graduated with my master's, got married, and am so far living happily ever after. It is time for to crush this next goal of completing my wedding planner certification. I have luckily been able to do a couple of day-of services for some close friends but am really looking forward to doing the all out stuff. Anybody else similar?

Yours Truly events would like to announce their grand opening. The company is dedicated to helping out engaged couples make their wedding vision come to life. Join us June 20th, 2020 for an evening of fun, games, food and drinks. All engaged couples, their families and friends are encouraged to partake in joyous occasion. There will be guest vendors such as photographers, caterers, baker & a lot more. So come with questions! The event will be held at The District Venue in Ankeny, Iowa. Tickets are $15 per person and 20% of the proceeds goes to the Iowa Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Guests are also required to bring at least 1 can goods to donate to the DMARC Food Pantry Network.

This project and the corresponding assignments made me really dig deep. The business plan opened my eyes to the extensive details of starting a business. I enjoyed working on this project because it made me realize that I’m so close to starting my dream business. Since it’s my 3rd project using Wix, it’s much easier to navigate and finish my project quicker. This course is has given me the foundation and extra push and confidence to pursue my dream.

This grand opening is for my future business. This event will showcase various wedding themes as well as provide guest vendors. Each table will have its own theme. There will be appetizers, drinks & desserts for our guests to enjoy. Our DJ will set the tone at the beginning of the evening by playing instrumental music to make easier to chat. Guests can also enjoy the photo booth as they browse and chat with the guest vendors. Raffle and door prizes will take place throughout the event. Before the party ends there will be a grand prize drawing for free wedding day coordinating services by Yours Truly Events.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Kylie Gardner, Wednesday, March 11, 2020

Hello! My name is Kylie and I work for Graceful Events.

I didn't come up with the name for my company; but a close friend of mine named it after her daughter, Grace. We also decided that all of our actions should be done with grace, hence the title of the company. Our colors are pink, white and black - soft wedding colors that match a lot of different things. What we want our guests to experience is a combination of grace and professionalism, as well as the relief of knowing that their wedding or event is in good hands.

The journey for creating this brand identity came after years of working weddings and then also deciding to have kids. As I mentioned, a friend came up with the name and it stuck: representing grace and professionalism in the wedding world. A lot of our wedding planners have two job or are mothers, so it also represents grace in life as well.

We are targeting anyone getting married or having an event in the Lake Geneva/Milwaukee area. If they want someone to professionally plan their wedding or event, and are willing to pay for the best in the business, we are the company for them!
