Something Gold: Weddings & Events - Project 2

Posted By Callie Mulcrone (Still), Tuesday, February 24, 2015

Essay Portion is below:

Something Gold was created on the idea that no one should feel like they cannot have everything they want on their wedding day; that every bride should feel as good as gold. When it comes to selling my company, there is nothing I will not strive for to help our potential brides learn everything they can about what it means to hire a wedding planner. My marketing strategy begins where most do nowadays and that is online. Something Gold’s Facebook currently has over 115 ‘likes’ and we are slowly building a following on Pinterest as well. It is my goal to post one helpful or promotional post a day on Facebook and constantly continue to pin the most interesting and appealing items to draw people to Something Gold’s Pinterest site. I have also created a website through Wix as a temporary domain home so that any potential clients have the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about what we offer.

The packages offered through Something Gold are a Day-of Coordinator, a Partial-Service Wedding Planner, and a Full-Service Wedding Planner. We also offer Party Planning as well as Additional Wedding Services that can be a la carte or added to any wedding package. The Day-Of Coordinator is for those who enjoy planning the details for their event, but want to be stress free on their wedding day. The Partial-Service Wedding Planner is perfect for the hands-on couples who have completed a large part of their planning and need professional assistance in completing the details. The Full-Service Coordinator is a “from start to finish” planning package for the bride and groom who would like to leave the details to a professional planner. Additional services that are offered can be anything from Wedding Blueprints to Invitation Addressing, Honeymoon Planning, and more. Something Gold caters to any and every bride. Something Gold is not focused on a certain culture, type, or budget when it comes to weddings. To us, all brides are important and must be reminded as such.

My current hope for Something Gold’s 2015 is to complete certification by April or May at the latest. I currently have three people already interested in using my services in 2015 as a portfolio building agreement. Two have asked me for Day-Of services, while one is planning on signing a full contract for either a Partial-Service or Full-Service package. I hope to have been involved in at least 5 weddings by the end of 2015 which I think is very reasonable. I am planning on 2016 being the first full year of service and hope to have 10 weddings in 2016. Five years from now I hope to be in this industry full-time with no other job for distractions. In ten years, I can only hope to grow my business to one of the most efficient and well known wedding planning services in the Atlanta area.

Project 3 - A Cause for Celebration

Posted By Alicia Waldrop, Friday, January 9, 2015

Here's my final project.  Enjoy!

http://www.pinterest.com/sweetmemoryeven/a-cause-for-celebration/

This truly is A Cause for Celebration!

For more than 10 years, I wanted to plan events full-time. Finding this course, has given me all of the tools (and confidence) to finally do it!  This course has taught me so many things that are going to be beneficial in becoming a full-time events planner. The details provided around actually setting up the business plan, licensing, insurance, marketing, blogs, vendor relationships, etc. were the most beneficial. Although I'm working to finalize all of those details, I wouldn't have known what direction to take without this course.

What's next? I am going to keep the momentum going by finalizing all of the details. The March 22 date listed is my target. Right now, that is the goal - to launch it and begin to book enough business to transition to event planning full-time. I do lean on the Lord to guide those steps.

I am thankful to have access to the LWPI community to learn from and to help me keep abreast of "current" trends.

Finally, the best part was determining how to give back. I'm so excited about what I've learned about Brides Against Breast Cancer and I encourage everyone to check it out.

Best of wishes to everyone as you continue your journey.

Alicia

Updated: Monday, December 8, 2014

Lovegevity Experience

Posted By Kierra Walton, Saturday, November 8, 2014

Stumbling upon Lovegevity’s Wedding and Event planning class has got to be one of the most rewarding experiences on my journey thus far. For a long time I didn’t know what direction I was headed for career wise. To know that I found a field where I can wake up in the morning and do what I love; My God given talent is wonderful!  I feel very good about the projects, and it was a lot of fun to actually have a chance to play these scenarios out, almost like getting my feet wet. The class experience has been a very positive  one and I look forward to my bright future in the industry.

18.6 Social Media

Posted By Shannon D. Odom, Saturday, October 25, 2014

Hello All!

I just wanted to share with everyone what a great experience my LWPI CWEP course has been! I have learned so much about the wedding and event planning industry through your resources and my wonderful instructor, Erica Gordon. I am working toward launching my own wedding and event planning business here in Texas by December and the tools that this course has supplied me with have already proved invaluable. I would like to personally thank the creators of this course and I wish the best of luck to all of the other students out there pursuing "the dream!"
