CWEP Project 1

Posted By Nikeva Lawrence, 6 hours ago

Hi everyone!!

My name is Nikeva Lawrence, and I currently live in Chicago, where I own and operate SouthWind Events (SWE). I've spent the last 20+ years working as an electrical engineer, doing wedding/event planning for fun most of that time.  In 2017, I realized that I have a true passion for weddings and wanted to take the leap to turn my "fun" into an official business.  Since that day, I've been working, learning and growing and haven't looked back since! My goals for SWE include expanding my team and service offerings to be an all-inclusive planning, design and coordination company with multiple venues under our corporate umbrella.

For this project I'm presenting a chic, modern, and elegant fall wedding with a black, white & blush color palette.  Having met through mutual friends, this early 30’s couple consists of two successful, young professionals who enjoy life to its fullest.  Their wedding celebration weekend will honoring the things they love most - travel, food, music, family & friends.

I have to admit this project took more effort than I expected.  It was a vivid reminder just how much work goes into planning a real wedding and has me wondering if it’s time to raise my rates again! :-)

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Alisha T. Stephen, Monday, February 17, 2020
Hi! My name is Alisha Stephen, I’m 22 (almost 23) years old & I was born & raised in Lawrenceville, GA. I stay at home with my mom & older brothers. Before doing Lovegevity I was hoping from job to job mainly in retail. I was wanting to branch out but no one was accepting my application.  I thought long & hard about being a wedding planner & one day I asked my mom for help & I took the leap! I plan on becoming a very successful wedding planner that lives worry free about finances, time & stress.

In my project, I’ve been given a very sweet couple who is young & vibrant! They want an emerald green wedding with gold accents & touches of pale pink. The gold creates an amazing pop of color while the pink brings the two bold colors back down to earth & mellows things out.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Galit Yanai, Friday, February 14, 2020

Hello there!

My name is Galit and I'm very excited to share my first blog post on this blog.
I assume we all share the same passion to planning wedding in particular and events in general.

My journey started when I was 17 and my older sister got engaged- she was the first one in our family to get married, so we all got very excited about that and tried to throw the best and most fun wedding for the couple and guests.
As time passed, we started to feel the pressure of having so much responsibility. That's when I decided to take the lead and tried to do my best at helping my sister and taking some stress off her shoulder.
Within days I found myself designing her wedding dress, talking to the venue manager, choosing the right music with the DJ, making mood-boards for her to find the right hairstyle, and more... Suddenly I became 100% the center of information available for her, and by that gave her the time to enjoy every second of being engaged, instead of freaking out about the whole wedding planning.

Since then, I was helpful for many other friends and family members to plan their special events, and I always did it with a big smile on my face.

My main goal is to make my biggest dream come true and fulfill my endless desire to become a certified wedding and event planner!
I'm new to Lovegevity but I can already tell I feel like I'm in the right place.

My mood-board represents a summer, floral wedding, "the wedding of my dreams". When I imagine it I see a nice early summer evening, right before sunset, a little bit of wind blowing through the garden venue, and the smell of flowers and grass mixing up in the air. Floral arrangements and tiny icicle lights are surrounding the reception and ceremony area.

I would love to hear your feedback,
Galit

CWEP Project 1.3 - Mood Board

Posted By Mary E. Tindle (Green), Saturday, January 18, 2020
Updated: Tuesday, February 4, 2020

Hi everyone, my name is Mary Tindle and I live in Katy, Texas, a part of the greater Houston area. For the last 20 years I have enjoyed a career in the oil and gas industry in which I started right out of college as a low-level drafter and worked my way up to Design Supervisor running the drafting group. I was able to accomplish this due to my leadership skills and ability to adapt to ever changing requirements and time schedules while maintaining deadlines and satisfying the client. However, the oil and gas industry is unpredictable with more and more jobs going overseas, so now is a great time to change careers to something that I am very passionate about, wedding and event planning. My ultimate goal is to have my own wedding and event planning business, with a flair for unique, themed, and eccentric events. Being in the Houston area and close to cities like San Antonio and Austin, there are lots of possibilities for large events that I would love to plan.

While I have no professional experience in event planning, I have planned several parties and events such as my own vow renewal ceremony that was extremely well received. I have planned baby showers and parties for friends and family. I put together a Halloween extravaganza a few years back, which included a haunted house that I designed and built. Our house was voted #1 decorated house in our subdivision and years later, people still ask if we are doing it again and have even offered to help with set up. I love to use my creativity to plan, organize, coordinate, and decorate any event and party possible from conception through execution. I can accomplish this by using my extensive design and leadership skills that I've developed over the years.

I chose to attend the Certified Master Wedding and Events course through Texas A&M. I am loving every minute of it so far. To see my visions take on a definition of their own is such a delight for me. I have a huge imagination with an enormous amount of creativity that has been aching to get out. For me, the sky is the limit. I can catalyze anyone’s vision and make their dream event come true. Once I get started, there is no stopping me.

For project 1, My couple is Hannah Davis and Alex Baker and this is their story:

Hannah and Alex met through a mutual friend at work. In their spare time, they immerse themselves in a world full of fantasy and adventure. Their quirky personalities and lighthearted approach to life are a perfect match. As avid adventurers, they are often inspired by Steampunk designs rooted in the 19th century culture where fantasy meets futuristic fashion, style and art characterized by the industrial revolution. They have requested a “Vintage Victorian Steampunk” inspired wedding experience. They're wedding is planned for June 14th, 2021 which is recognized as International Steampunk Day.

The couple both love vibrant shades of berry and lavender complimented with green and gold. Beautiful bouquets and tablescapes filled with floral combinations of burgundy calla lilies, dark red roses, hypericum berries and natural foliage accented with golden gadgets and gears paired with the natural glow of soft vintage lighting make for a very dreamy atmosphere.

Travis and Trudy-A Journey In Love

Posted By Elorne Duncan, Tuesday, December 17, 2019
Updated: Tuesday, December 17, 2019

I am Elorne Duncan, I am from the beautiful twin Island State Trinidad and Tobago.  We are located just 7 miles off the coast of Venezuela.  I am an event professional with over 15 years experience in the business.  I have work for Mr Brian Mac Farlane a celebrated event producer and designer in Trinidad and Tobago, I have done work for HRH Duke of Edinburgh on his visit to Grenada and I have worked for the top event company in Grenada for the past 2 years.  I am currently back home working with one of the best event companies in Trinidad and Tobago, managing large Carnival type events.  My aspirations would be to become as well know for amazing work like Preston Bailey and David Tutera. I would one day like to meet them and just sit and have a conversation with them, to gain more inspiration on developing my skills and my company.  I hope to launch off in the next year or two, doing my own thing and bringing dreams to life.

Below is just a taste of my work and the understanding of my project.

Trudy and Travis, their love is sufficient unto love. Travis and Trudy met in the inviting turquoise waters of Tobago. This was an unassuming conversation that turned into courting, then a bundle of joy and then an happily ever after. Travis and Trudy, are a modern day Caribbean couple. They have sophisticated taste but a willingness to have touches and elements, they grew up with. They are fun and flirty!

This wedding will be held on the island where they met, Tobago. It was important to make pilgrimage to the place where their love story began. It only seems fitting. Trudy wanted to make sure that the beach played a part in their union and Travis agreed. The wedding is a sophisticated beach wedding with touches of Trinbago and Guyana. In speaking with them, they wanted their guests to feel welcomed and at home. Therefore Blue (shades of blue) was chosen for their colour. The design of this wedding was keeping in sync with the couple's choices. My design aesthetic is very minimalist and modern, I married the wants and needs of the couple with the current trends for weddings of this style. Recommendations were made with respect to the couple's styling for their special day and this was well received as the couple is a very fashion sensible. Working with this couple was a dream, as Trudy had what she wanted sorted and Travis understood his role, "just say yes hunnie!"

In closing, this wedding event was filled with love and using the A8 formula really assisted me in understanding the elements that goes into making an event a special occasion, not only for weddings but for all types of events. The A8 formula doesn't create events but experiences. Travis and Trudy's wedding was one that was filled with love and intimacy. The couple was very pleased with my work and I am grateful that they gave me the chance to showcase my skills. This journey was one well spent.

CWEP Project 1.3

Posted By Lisa Blough, Wednesday, August 7, 2019
Updated: Thursday, August 22, 2019

For my Project 1, I decided to extend myself and go for a wedding theme I have never seen or know much about.  I did a Bohemian theme for a fall wedding in the North Georgia Mountains at a local vineyard.  It was challenging to be creative with a style I'm not as familiar with, but learned so much through the process.

I chose to use a wine colored bridesmaid dress and accent colors to tie in with the vineyards.  When I plan a theme for events I never want to go too over the top with it.  I choose to add it in with the mood and style of the event, but not literally come up with dozens of decorations that are the theme.

I love everything about weddings and am very excited about learning all I can to plan and prepare for clients to have the best possible experience.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Mary Eileen Zamor, Friday, June 28, 2019

My name is Mary Eileen. I am from Brooklyn, NY. I currently work in the quality improvement department at an insurance company. I also plan/coordinate events for myself and family/church/friends. I've been doing so since college (about 12 years now). My husband is a photographer and I decided to become certified. This can eventually become a family business.

This course thus far is amazing. I've been exposed to wedding/event planning already so it definitely has been an eye-opener as far as learning the foundation of planning. It has actually forced me to become more organized with documents/templates I will need going further to make things more official. I enjoyed working this project as it has gotten me more accustomed to working with Wix, Pinterest and Canva.

Marcus and Sarah have been together for 5 years and engaged for 6 months. They are college sweethearts. They are both Caucasian and in their late 20’s, They specifically chose a Spring Nautical Wedding theme because they began dating during the spring time and because the groom’s late grandfather, who practically raised him, was a sailor. The couple felt it was only right to combine the two ideas to create their dream wedding. The color theme will be white, navy blue and blush.

The mood board attached displays the brides A-Line wedding dress with appliqués, the grooms white tux with navy blue lapel, a nautical wedding cake, a live band, the bridal parties attire and the blush inspired reception table setup.

CWEP: Project 1- Mood Board

Posted By Deirdre M. Payne, Saturday, March 2, 2019

My name is Deirdre Payne, Owner of I Do LLC., in Virginia. After several careers in the corporate field, some in Event Planning, I decided to break out on my own a few years ago. In the past, I planned everything from Chili Cookoffs, Golf Tournaments and Automotive Shows to Bridal Shows and Weddings.  Being a life-long hopeless romantic, it is now Wedding Planning that has the most appeal. Becoming certified in the field has been on my bucket list for over five years, which is how I finally got enrolled in this class. I am excited for all that I will learn to help expand my business.

This Mood Board tells the love story of a couple from different worlds. She is a little older and business driven, but loves the idea of relaxing on the beach. He is an outdoorsman and loves the mountains. He dreamt of a wedding on a hillside, smoking meat over a fire, but loved her enough to compromise. From their first kiss in the mountains to the one that would marry their lives together on the beach, it is a true love story. My goal was to have a romantic/tropical feel and include his wish for brisket on the menu and a horse on the beach. Of course, their friends were thrilled to be a part and later see her wish...fireworks in the shape of two intertwined hearts, like theirs will be forever.

Posted By Kareman Mohamed, Saturday, February 23, 2019

Hello everyone! my name is Kareman, I'm from Egypt and I'm a flight attendant. I had a lot of fun preparing this project as it was my first time to use Canva website and I learned a lot of things. I'm so excited to start this course as it was my dream to become a wedding planner, also as a flight attendant I have a lot of friends from different nationalities and I got the chance to attend different style of weddings and it inspired me a lot and it added to my knowledge. So here I am at Lovegevity making my dream comes true and so ready to have a lot of fun.

for this project I went with an outdoor wedding. The bride and groom chose a forest as it'll be far away from the city, traffic and noise; with beautiful trails and lots of trees. They wanted it to be simple but still elegant and classy with a vintage style. I hope you like it.

CWEP Project #1

Posted By Brittany M. Radish, Monday, January 21, 2019

Hi Everyone! I am Brittany Radish from a suburb of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I am taking this course so I can learn the skills necessary to become the best wedding planner for my future clients. My corporate job is in Corporate Event and Tradeshow Management, however I have found myself planning weddings for others in the evenings and weekends. With that being said, I am opening my own wedding and event planning business! So far, I have enjoyed this course! There has been many small details that are mentioned in the text and videos that I have not thought of.

For Project #1, I chose to highlight a current client of mine that is quite different from everyone I have worked with before. Their budget is very tight, which allowed up to be creative at where money was being sent. The most creative and non-traditional aspect would be the ceremony/reception is only in the afternoon and the food is a casual brunch buffet.

Throughout the duration of my certification and course work with Longevity I am making strides to open my own business, B-Rad Weddings & Celebrations! Website and social media is coming soon!

Hello Fellow Planners,

My name is Mechellé Newman and I'm from Los Angeles, CA and have decided to get serious with pursing my career  in the wedding planning industry by taking the this course to prefect my skill and talents for wedding planning and coordinating. I have my Bachelors of Arts in Sociology and initially planned to go to Law School but later discovered that the wedding and event industry is really where my passion was.

I really enjoyed this assignment because it gave my the opportunity and challenge to focus on the details of a potential clients wedding and the important aspects that go into it as well as familiarizing myself with using Canva. My client's wedding theme is an elegant ray of royal blue and gold. It represents class and freshness with a sleek look of royalty and shimmer.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Margaret Smoak, Monday, October 1, 2018
Updated: Monday, October 1, 2018

My name is Margaret and I just began the CWEP course. I am very excited to begin my career in the wedding planning industry. I have always been drawn to the pageantry, gorgeous colors, and glamour of weddings and I am finally following that dream!

I loved doing this project because I was really able to study different aspects of the wedding planning industry and focus on the details of many styles of weddings. I learned that the smallest of details really can make a difference and, after looking at many, many (many) beautiful pictures, was able to recognize which wedding styles are compatible with one another. Having matching styles throughout the wedding is crucial and I feel that this Christmas Wedding for which I made my mood board, creates a good balance of formality and festivity.

My couple is planning a Christmas Wedding on December 22, 2019. They have been together for three years and chose a Christmas theme because that holiday is very important to them. Their dress code has been defined as "Semi-Formal/Festive" and their atmosphere is going to feel like a cozy holiday party. The couple's wedding will be held in the ballroom of a hotel with dimmed lights, a fireplace, and Christmas trees strung with lights set up throughout the room. They have chosen their own take on traditional Christmas colors using carmine red, emerald, green, and glitter gold.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Charveline Xavier, Tuesday, September 11, 2018
Hi I’m Charveline, you can call me Chevy. As a child I was always busy drawing designs and planning my own future dream wedding, I had so many ideas but as I got older I put those ideas on the back-burner. Now at 28 l‘m ready to pursue my one true passion: Becoming a Wedding/Event Planner

My lovely couple met via a dating app, they were both skeptical about it but 4 years later they would be well on their way to tying the knot. They shared a mutual love of each other’s West Indian cultures. The groom being of Cuban decent and the bride of Haitian decent. As a couple, they traveled to Haiti once for a mini vacation but where never able to travel to Cuba to experience the grooms’ culture first hand, but it remains a travel dream for them.

Both the bride and groom have selected the colors: Black, Off-White & Rose Gold. The color rose gold will pay homage to their parents, who’s weddings included pink and gold respectively. They both wanted the ceremony to have a classic feel to it and the reception would carry their love of their respectful island cultures.

For the ceremony, the bride will dazzle in an off-white, ruffled, A-Line gown with a lace bodice and sweetheart neckline. Her dress will be paired with peach colored, peep toe pumps and all white rose bouquet with rhinestone details. The groom is sure to turn heads in a beautiful black and off-white tuxedo. He will pair his outfit with a white calla lily boutonniere and a pair of black suede loafers. As for the bridesmaids they’ll make their way down the aisle in a form fitting, jewel neckline rose gold, floor length dress. The Groomsmen will wear similar black suits with white dress shirts, complimenting the groom.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Rachel Chavez, Friday, August 10, 2018

Hello, I'm Rachel Chavez. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for almost 5 years now. We've been blessed with 2 beautiful girls and a baby on the way! We were stationed in Japan but just moved to North Carolina about a year ago now. I have just been a stay at home Mommy but have been wanting to further my education in something, just never knew what until I heard about this course. I hope to become a successful Wedding and Event Planner and help those plan their special day.

Imagining a couples big day and all the details to go with was so exciting. There is a lot more then I ever knew that went into planning a wedding. I enjoyed planning every second of it.

David and Lyn met back in High School when they were just 16 years old. Life took them in different directions after high school and unfortunately they lost contact. Years later their path met again. Under the autumn leaves of fall they knew they were meant to be! The couple wanted their wedding day to bring them back to that moment. The moment that started their forever.

Hope you enjoy!

My name is Sierra Ostergaard and I currently live in Louisiana where my husband is stationed but was born and raised in Utah! I have many different career fields such as the medical and education fields and am excited to add arts & design into my dream career fields! Being an army wife allows me quite a bit of time to try new things and new career fields and wedding and event planning has always been one of my dream careers so here it goes!

For this mood board, I have created a summer country wedding. I kept it simple and elegant and added a splash of sunflower yellow to brighten up the celebrations! This theme includes a generous amount of lace, sunflowers, burlap and of course that lovely, romantic barn that thanks guests with a small jar of sweet honey on the way out!

Construction Junction Mood Board

Posted By Ashton Oates, Thursday, June 28, 2018

My name is Ashton Oates. I am from St. Louis, MO and I am a wife and mother of 3 goofy children! I have worked in the childcare industry for the past 12 years but recently made the jump to the event management world. My goals after the class are to grow my business and be abled to standout within the industry for A-Listed events across the board.

So far, within the course, I have learned how important it is to have a "tribe" and a connection with different vendors and your peers within the industry.  My mood board is a quick depiction of what a little boys ideal birthday party would look like if he would obsessed with construction. At this party all the activities and food are based around the construction theme. All the kiddos will be provided a safety vest to fit in for the day.

Hello All,

My name is Carmen Rosales. I was bored and raised in sunny Los Angeles, California. I am currently in the legal field. I have been working in a law firm for over 10 years and love it , but I do have a passion for planning and creating events.

I'm starting my event planning company alongside my twin sister, to honor our father, who loved all things business.  We strive to help couples and loved ones bring their wedding and event dreams to reality.   This course has been a breath of fires air and has seriously helped in learning that there re so many aspects to creating a magical event.

The project I have presented is a wedding of two loved ones.  I love anything monochromatic and glamorous. This mood board gave me the opportunity to re-create that vision on paper. This assignment has motivated me to create vision boards for my future clients to help them visualize and bring their dreams to reality.

Updated: Sunday, March 25, 2018

My name is Lauren Eshelman, and I live in Los Angeles California. I graduated college in May with a Bachelor’s in Fashion Merchandising and a minor in Marketing. After discovering that I didn’t enjoy the fashion industry, I decided to give wedding and event planning a try. So far I am enjoying the CWEP course. I find my instructor is very experienced and talented, and I’m excited to continue this course and learn more from her.

For my Project 1, I am planning a fall wedding taking place in September of 2020. The overall vibe of the wedding is classic, elegant, and fun. Decorations are heavily influenced by nature and include lots of florals. The color scheme is merlot, blush, cream, and beige. Personal details pertaining to the couple that will be included in the wedding are their love for their dogs, the outdoors, and wine!

Hello All, My Name is Monet Keaton.   I am from the surrounding suburbs of Chicago.  I have a Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems and I currently work is a Sr. QA Analyst.  I really love to plan events at home, work, and for family.  I am taking this course because I will be starting a Event Planning business in the near future.

I really enjoyed completing this project because I have never planned a wedding before.  I have done several Birthday events, baby showers, and work events but never a wedding.  This was the best experience ever!  I really enjoyed getting down to the details of how a wedding event is planned.

For Project 1, I focused on a couple who will be getting married next year.  They are high school sweethearts who fell in love and lost touch with each other after high school.  Through the means of social media they were able to rekindle that love, and are ready to tie the knot!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Madison Brown, Friday, February 23, 2018

For this first project, I chose to center it around an impending vow renewal. the time the event will take place is 7pm in late October. There is a chance it will be chilly, but that will help set the cozy mood since the couple would like to have it outside.

There will be a dance floor with string lights all over the backyard. A small, intimate ceremony with children to grown adults to celebrate life and love on a fall evening. CWEP Project 1

Hello Everyone! My name is Arielle, I'm from the suburbs of Chicago, and love being creative and making others smile. While on my way to becoming a certified event planner, I hope to gain additional knowledge and experience that will enable me to finally enjoy a career that is exciting as my current and previous jobs as a banker and estimator (calculating numbers all day) is unsatisfying. My experience in this course so far has strayed me to be a sponge and soak up everything I can.

For my first project I’m working with a couple that are planning on getting married next summer. They are very outdoorsy people with a love for fishing and nature and are looking for a rustic, semi-formal, lakeside wedding in the Northwoods of Wisconsin.

The groom is pretty laid back and looking for comfortable attire, while the bride wants to be comfortable and still manage to have everyone and everything stay classy. To keep the groom and groomsmen’s attire rustic but semi-formal a simple combo of denim jeans, a shirt with vest and tie works perfectly (the groom can choose to wear a jacket). The bride loves purple, doesn’t want her girls looking too country, and hasn’t decided whether the wedding will be during the day or evening so I went with wisteria for the dresses with simple bridesmaid flowers using baby’s breath along with a bridal bouquet filled with greenery and different shades of purple to pull it all together. To set a mood, my board shows a day and a night wedding suggestion.

Both being hands on in wood crafts, they want to maintain a low budget by making a lot of their own decor, so in my moodboard I’ve included: wood and floral ideas, lace and burlap, shepard hooks with mason jars, and even a reception seating table arrangement with fishing lures to embrace their passion for fishing.

With the reception outdoors in a tent. I leaned towards a buffet serving style and a classic wine barrel bar; these tend to take up less space, keeps a rustic but classy feel, cuts costs by not requiring servers, allows for several food choices, and offers free flowing movement between cocktails and dinner. To top it off, I’ve presented a birch tree cake concept and "Thank You’s" in the form of seed packets to pull in a touch of the Northwoods- let love grow.
