CWEP Project 2

Posted By Joya Wotila, Wednesday, April 10, 2019
Hi there, my name is Joya Wotila and I live in the great state of Texas but originally from the beautiful coastline of Northern California! I have always been involved with events and hosting since I was a child shadowing my mother. This course has opened up different aspects of the industry that I was not fluent in before so I am very appreciative. I especially feel very grateful for my instructor Cheryl Allgood who has demonstrated poise, grace and helpful knowledge all the way through. In Project 2 I get to explain how the way I grew up in a small village church with the events my mother help create gave me such a love for beauty, well displayed food, music and the hearts that enjoyed it all together.

Updated: Saturday, March 2, 2019
Hi, I'm Gabrielle from CCSF class. In my personal experience, this project has been challenging and fun at the same time. This course made me realize that wedding planning industry is real serious at it's not that easy at all! Anyways, my proposed wedding scenario is about a couple, Cali and Boss, that is planning to have a Ranch/ Winery wedding next year Spring and they want to be outdoors. They will have 100 guests including them. The colors that they've been wanting is pastel blue and pink, and light grey with a contrast of white and gold.

CWEP Project #1 - Mood Board

Posted By Melanie Tiffen, Friday, March 1, 2019

Greetings, fellow planners! My name is Melanie Tiffen. I'm rejoining the planning industry after spending the last decade in the tech industry. For this project, I decided to go with a non-wedding event. I love baby showers. There's nothing quite as exciting (or intimidating) as welcoming a new life into the world. Event planning is all about making the happiest moments in the lives of our clients more enjoyable and less stressful (and who could use less stress more than a soon-to-be-mother, am I right?)

This baby shower is an Alice in Wonderland themed! The colors are riotous, the atmosphere is happy and fun, and food is easy tea-party fair. What a joyous occasion to welcome a new addition in our mad, mad world.

Wedding Planning Proposal

Posted By Diane Rogers, Sunday, September 16, 2018
Updated: Tuesday, September 25, 2018

Hi Lovegevity!

I am Diane Rogers, currently residing in Atlanta, Georgia. I am elated to be coming to a close in this course...not because I dreaded the course, but because I will have proven myself to be able to complete whatever I set out to!  And for me, sometimes I found it a challenge to complete major tasks that I would set out to do. Starting a project was always easy for me, but the challenge was staying the course of the race. For this I am most grateful for this course.

My mood board presented here is a snap shot of the inspirations used to create my proposal for my bride and groom.  This inspirations demonstrate vibrant worksheets, a welcome and thank you letter, a view of rental items offered as another part of the services offered here at Elaborate Expressions &Events. It includes a welcome gift kit, some EEE branded merchandise (mouse pad) amongst so much more! It provides a copy of the basic packages offered for their special event, marriage license requirements as well as a complete outline of everything that must be taken care of in order for their special day to go off without a hitch.

A great proposal is a Must Have when presenting your business to a potential client (s). Its your first impression you get to show your abilities to take their Special event to a higher level than expected. It's the first chance you get to demonstrate your organizational skills as well as a quick glimpse of how their event will turn out while in your care.

Enjoy!

CWEP PROJECT 1

Posted By Cindy Valerio, Wednesday, August 1, 2018
Updated: Wednesday, August 1, 2018

Hello Everyone!

My name is Cindy Valerio and I am from Southern California. It has always been my dream to create and design events professionally. I also enjoy getting to help other people bring their dream events come to life because it challenges me to push my ability to be more creative.

I decided to take this course because every time I organized events for my family and close friends, they would say I should do this professionally because I'm good at it. Of course I don’t really pay attention to what they are saying because they are my family, but it made sense now and I realize that we only live once. Only once! So we have to make most out of it or else regret it after life. Now here I am looking forward to learning a lot more.

My first example client wants an elegant high fashion, enchanted fairy tale forest themed. My bride to be will be wearing Elie Saab fall 2017 couture collection together with her bridesmaids with different couture styles. My groom to be will be wearing Versace fall 2014 couture collection together with his groomsmen but different fashion styles. Wedding cake will be from confectionary collection of Vera Wang x Laduree. And bride will arrived in a horse-drawn Cinderella carriage.

Thanks for your time looking at my work.

CWEP PROJECT 1

Posted By Janice Alphonso, Wednesday, July 25, 2018

My name is Janice Alphonso and I was born in Georgetown Guyana. I moved to the United States when I was five years old.  I presently  work as a Guidance Counselor and I love to work on beautiful events. My goal is to open a fabulous hall that is beautifully decorated in neutral palettes and can be transformed into any event that my clients envisions.  Thus far, this course has helped me to become more focused on my goal of becoming a fulltime event planner and designer.

The mood board is for a couple who met four years ago and are deeply in love, Candace is the director of a community organization and Ryan is an Engineer.  Candace is a true romantic whose favorite colors are pink and gold.  They both love food and Champagne and would like their guests to enjoy the evening through the five senses. Ryan said, “make Candace’s dreams come true”.

Purple Reign Mood Board

Posted By Chanelle S. Miller, Thursday, June 28, 2018

My Name is Chanelle and I currently work as a manager. I have always had an interest in event planning and I love planning, coordinating and executing events.  In the past I have helped several event planners and have developed a passion for this field. I am very excited to learn all I can and become the absolute best planner.

So far in the class, I have learned the responsibilities of the planner and what is necessary to stay organized for events and weddings. I have also started to comprehend why it is so important to connect yourself with the right vendors and have a dependable network of people as an event planner.  There is a lot of time and work that go into planning each event and making it special  for your client.  My project is going to be a Themed Wedding event for a bride who loves blue, purple and Prince.  The future groom is in a fraternity and also loves the color purple. I want to create a very unique and memorable event that they and their guest will remember for many years to come.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Jamie E. Wilkinson (Muse), Thursday, June 7, 2018
Updated: Wednesday, June 20, 2018

My name is Jamie Wilkinson and I attend the CWEP class at Lone Star College - North Harris. I am excited to be in the program.

This event's elegant inspiration beckons vintage glamour from the 1920's Art Deco style. All details are decadent and carefully procured, from the feathered centerpieces dripping with pearls to the picnic basket full of photo props for guests to also join in the fun.

Our couple, Clive and Dorothy, are fun-loving and full of energy. They opt for a garden-style wedding outside and a speakeasy Black, Gold and Cream colored reception inside. Fingerwaves and pincurls abound as the ladies arrive to the venue in elegant evening gowns reminiscent of your favorite Erte' illustration. A nearby Victrola record player softly sets the mood by playing 1924's, "It Had to Be You" by Isham Jones & Gus Kahn. The gents are looking dapper in their spats, bow ties and suspenders.

Prohibition is over and the champagne is flowing while everyone is doing their best Charleston on the dance floor. The cake is a deco dream and looks too snazzy to cut into. Our couple's getaway car is a 1928 Dodge with whitewall tires.

Assignment 1.3

Posted By Ryan E. Foulds, Wednesday, April 11, 2018
So, I have to say I'm a little irked by what it took to simply know what had to be done for this assignment. I didn't see "mood board" defined anywhere, and not in the extremely long list of glossary terms, so taking the phrase at face value, made a board for moods. A video tutorial shouldn't be necessary for someone to know what needs to be done, especially considering not everyone is a visual learner and some just want written out instruction. With that said, this includes the corrected mood board with my original concept also included.

Project 1.3

Posted By Samantha Ferrigno, Saturday, February 10, 2018

Project 1.3

Couple: My couple is newly engaged, newly together. They met online. He is the Navy and she is a part time worker at Disneyland. He was born in California but moved to Texas as a young kid, so he considers himself a Texan by heart, and country boy. She was born and raised in Southern California, she went to school in Chicago for hospitality management but finished at home online. They met after he got stationed out here and she went looking for some new friends. They hit it off right away. They connected on her love for the country and his experience.

Style: country mixed with Disney

Colors: eggplant, lavender, sky blue, carnation pink

A8 Formula:

Bridal Attire/Accessories: Sweetheart neckline, lace, mermaid style dress, silver pearls, elbow length veil, cowboy boots, pearl earrings/necklace, vintage headpiece, navy blue cameo garters, natural make up, garden bouquet, realistic curls. Groom Attire/Accessories: Navy Dress Whites, Change into dress shirt jeans and boots, small boutonniere. Bridal Party Attire/Accessories: The girls are picking their own dresses, MOH-is in eggplant, BMs-lavender, flowers are white tulips, the boys will be in white dress shirts and jeans, FG- will be in pink, RB-same as groomsmen, the couples dogs will be walking down the aisle as well. Parents Attire/Accessories: MOB will be in sky blue, the FOB will be in eggplant, Grooms family it is up to them.

Anticipation: The couple’s invites were sent out early for long distance, simple invites through vistaprint, the venue is a vacation home in the San Diego Mountains

Arrival: The couple will already be at the venue so no transportation or guest valet, there will be two signs to direct their guests, seating will be around the tables already, it’s a small processional since the bridal party is small, the arch is a garden arch with some tapestry.

Atmosphere: the venue is out in the woods, with nature surrounding the whole event, it is a simple together wedding, and lighting will be off the house and candles on the tables

Appetite: Tulsa Rib Company will be catering the vent. The bar will be a full bar that the couple likes to drink. Cake is done by nothing bundt cakes with a spread of cookies and donuts.

Amusement: Music will be played off the groom’s phone from a play list they both creates, first dance, father daughter dance.

Appreciation: The bridal party will have their own hangers as their gifts, every guest gets cookies and donuts.

Short Essay:

The couple choose this theme because of the bride’s love for Disney and their love for the country rustic feel they both love. They wanted it to be simple and easy to set up themselves. Nothing to grand that it would over whelmed their families and take away from the venue. This event will be one of the many weddings their families will be enjoying.

This wedding is for the families of the bride and groom and for themselves. The families are from all over the world. Part of the bride’s family is from Denmark, but most of the family is California. Her sister is the maid of honor while the groom’s family is part of the bridal party. His family is mainly in Texas but still many all over. Some in South Carolina, Nevada, Florida, and Arizona.

The wedding will be taking place in the San Diego Mountains in the afternoon in June. The perfect lighting for the weddings but it is going to be warm for everyone. There will have to be plenty of water for everyone.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Arielle Maly, Wednesday, February 7, 2018
Updated: Friday, February 9, 2018

Hello Everyone! My name is Arielle, I'm from the suburbs of Chicago, and love being creative and making others smile. While on my way to becoming a certified event planner, I hope to gain additional knowledge and experience that will enable me to finally enjoy a career that is exciting as my current and previous jobs as a banker and estimator (calculating numbers all day) is unsatisfying. My experience in this course so far has strayed me to be a sponge and soak up everything I can.

For my first project I’m working with a couple that are planning on getting married next summer. They are very outdoorsy people with a love for fishing and nature and are looking for a rustic, semi-formal, lakeside wedding in the Northwoods of Wisconsin.

The groom is pretty laid back and looking for comfortable attire, while the bride wants to be comfortable and still manage to have everyone and everything stay classy. To keep the groom and groomsmen’s attire rustic but semi-formal a simple combo of denim jeans, a shirt with vest and tie works perfectly (the groom can choose to wear a jacket). The bride loves purple, doesn’t want her girls looking too country, and hasn’t decided whether the wedding will be during the day or evening so I went with wisteria for the dresses with simple bridesmaid flowers using baby’s breath along with a bridal bouquet filled with greenery and different shades of purple to pull it all together. To set a mood, my board shows a day and a night wedding suggestion.

Both being hands on in wood crafts, they want to maintain a low budget by making a lot of their own decor, so in my moodboard I’ve included: wood and floral ideas, lace and burlap, shepard hooks with mason jars, and even a reception seating table arrangement with fishing lures to embrace their passion for fishing.

With the reception outdoors in a tent. I leaned towards a buffet serving style and a classic wine barrel bar; these tend to take up less space, keeps a rustic but classy feel, cuts costs by not requiring servers, allows for several food choices, and offers free flowing movement between cocktails and dinner. To top it off, I’ve presented a birch tree cake concept and "Thank You’s" in the form of seed packets to pull in a touch of the Northwoods- let love grow.

1.3 Mood Board-Project 1

Posted By Christine Brown, Thursday, July 20, 2017

Hi y’all, my name is Christine Brown and I live in Kansas City. I graduated with a psychology degree and worked in an early childhood special education program for three years. Although I love working with children, my true passion is creating special events for friends and family in a creative and innovative way. I’m currently a housewife, focusing on becoming a professional wedding and event planner. In the next two years, my sister-in-law and I plan to start an event planning business around the Kansas City area.

In the past two years, I have hosted several bridal showers and parties. The overall excitement of event planning has encouraged me to invest in a future of becoming a professional wedding and event planner. Hearing positive feedback from the events I’ve held, has given me the confidence to further my education in this field. Implementing structured strategies such as A8, creating mood boards, and learning venue selection techniques have made current event planning projects more organized and efficient.

Project 1 is inspired around my sister Ally and her fiancé, Kyle’s wedding. They are a vivacious couple full of energy, who enjoy spending time together outdoors. The mood board represents the rustic elegant wedding the couple desires. A relaxed atmosphere with elegant vibes will make this bohemian romance wedding one of a kind.
