Alicia Cintron - CWEP Project 1

Case Study:

My couple, high school sweethearts, Madelyn(24) and Jamie(25), have been together for 9 years and  engaged for a year. They live in Maine but plan on having their big day back in their home state of Pennsylvania. The date is June 29th, 2020 which is the perfect wedding season in Pa. The ceremony will take place outside in a beautiful open field with the glistening lake as the background. After the ceremony and wedding pictures, the reception will be held in the same place but inside an amazing open barn with a ceiling full of string lights.

Madelyn is beyond excited for this day and has many suggestions of her own. Their theme is “Modern meets Boho”. The color schemes are neutral light colors, blush pink, ivory, sage green and hints of gold. The bride is in a stunning lace dress, she wanted it to be simple but elegant at the same time. Her bridesmaids are in blush pink gowns with some added glam while the groomsmen are in grey tuxedos with sage bowties and suspenders. The bride’s own ideas really came in with the centerpieces and signs. The centerpieces have the modern look she wanted with added blush roses and succulents. The cake beautifully and perfectly matched the theme. The couple had a tough time deciding what they wanted to do as an option for food, but they finally both agreed on a family style dinner at each table, which they loved! They were happily joined together on the dance floor with their families and friends. Jamie had a surprise for his bride to perfectly end their night, with a giant firework display right over the lake. All in all, the wedding was a huge success!

Chapter 1 assignment

Posted By Mercedes Fielding, Saturday, July 6, 2019

For project 1 - My couples name is Alice and Brandon and they live in San Francisco California! They wanted a wedding during the spring time at a venue that was outdoors. Alice really loves pink flowers and just pink in general. Brandon also loves flowers and plants and they both wanted a lot of them at their wedding. They wanted more of a natural feel at their wedding as both Alice and Brandon really love the earth. We got all the flowers from a local florist company called “Ava’s flowers”. The cake is a red velvet which was Brandon's biggest request, and we got the cake from “Mr. Holmes Bakehouse” in San Francisco.

CWEP-1

Posted By Monisha Ghuman, Tuesday, June 25, 2019
For Project -1, I decided to choose Rustic Amish theme yet add a soft eclectic feel to Stephanie’s and Vikram’s wedding next year on August 12,2020.

The bride Stephanie and the groom Vikram’s  childhood had been on a rustic farm where they lived in 2 different parts of the world  in a small rustic house and both learned to churn butter, bake bread, and store provisions for winter and lived in .Though they were born and raised  in two different parts of the world , Stephanie being born and raised in Oklahoma , United States and Vikram being born and raised in Punjab, India, yet they both shared common ethics and strong family values.  Because of their rustic farm background I thought of depicting picturesque rustic scenes as a part of their rustic theme wedding. I decided to use white and orange lilies where white signifies the epitome of beauty, devotion, new beginnings and orange signifies passion
The main color scheme of this wedding is rust, ivory , orange , brick color which would be found not only in the attire of the bridesmaids, flower girls , bride’s gown, grooms’s attire, bride’s bouquet boutonnières, corsages, floral arrangements, arch gate/backdrops but also in the tulle fabric that will be used to drape the walls and ceilings with string lights woven into the drapes. In order to enhance the rustic setting, I thought of using red petals with ivory satin aisle runner. Envisioned the bride walking the aisle  on the red petals. To add to the mood of the wedding ceremony, I decided to have 2 band artists playing saxophone and piano in the background as each ceremony progresses. After the final ceremony is over, and as the bride and the groom walk back down the aisle as husband and wife there will be the tossing of rice on a newly married couple. The tossing of rice on a newly married couple symbolizes fertility, both for the couple and their crops.
For the guest tables I decided to use mason jars as the centerpieces with baby breath flowers and LED candles. All the centerpieces on the guest tables will be placed on top of the round wooden logs cut & customized per the table size. There will be a wine cork place card holder on each guest table. The head table would have mason jar settings much bigger in size with elaborate floral arrangements , extra leafy accents and eucalyptus greenery. Lighting on top of the head table will include small round hanging orbs, iron  lanterns with soft LED lights and  bulbs. The 3-tier wedding cake will stand on a customized round wooden log engraved with the bride’s and groom’s initials,  enveloped with baby’s breath and tea candles. The champagne toasting glasses will be monogrammed with the bride’s and the groom’s names along with the wedding month/day/year. Continuing with the rustic setting, I chose unusual containers such as milk pails , crates, reclaimed wood barrels , wooden and chalk sign boards , wooden isle and tin cans to blend with my floral setting. To add a soft eclectic feel to the wedding , I decided on a music band which will play the mix of country, hip hop, swing  techno, classical along with the 80’s & 90’s rock. To add to the continuity of the Rustic and Amish theme, I decided to use vintage cars for the bride’s and the groom’s parents arrival, 1939 Rolls Royce for the brides’s and the bridesmaids arrival and a vintage bus for all the guests arrival to the wedding ceremony venue. And after the wedding ceremony is over, the bride and the groom will ride in a horse driven Amish carriage from the wedding ceremony to the reception banquet hall. There will be a bubble and white LED light up balloons send off before the Bride and the Groom hop into their 1959 white Porsche  and step on the plane got their cozy honeymoon  to Antigua basking in the sun on a beautiful private beach at Coco Bay resort .

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Melanie M. Chao, Wednesday, June 5, 2019

Hi there -

For project 1 I decided to go with the girly elegant vibe. Which is something I would typically go for if I was a bride. I think the picture that stands out the most is the in & out truck! My vision is after a long night of partying - I would have a food truck waiting outside for my guest to depart. Who doesn't love a good late night snack?

CWEP Project 1

Howdy - I'm Sabrina, owner and Wedding & Event Planner of Lillie Jane Designs (named after my late, great grandmother). I already had a business Pinterest account and recently took a short webinar on tips to increase viewers and sales from your Pinterest by downloading Canva, so this project came in serendipitous timing! I'm planning a styled shoot with a few local vendors next month, so this project gave me the perfect chance to develop the mood board for the shoot. I LOVE dried floral and all things vintage (I'm a true grandma at heart), so this board reflects the rich tones in dried flowers as well as the romantic simplicity of a vintage winter wedding. Hope you like it :)

Project 1

Posted By Rachel Quinn, Thursday, May 16, 2019

I’m Rachel Quinn, a former marketing professional from Ellicott City, Maryland. I fell in love with event planning while putting on different functions on behalf of clients — it was so satisfying to me to see a brand come together in the form of decor, signage and a united look-and-feel. I’ve always loved design and so when it came time to plan my own wedding, I had so much fun with the process and found that it was so quick and painless for me (when I had only heard horror stories from others), that I wanted to make this my full time career.

This course has been wonderful so far. The assignments are certainly thorough and test your knowledge to the very detail, but I find that it’s so important especially when entertaining into an industry where details can make-or-break a bride’s day.

For this project, I envisioned the following scenario:

Tori and Matt’s special day will be held on December 21, 2019 at 4:00p. They met at a holiday Christmas party, so it was important to them to get married at a similar time of year and represent the beautiful union that was formed on this day. Both the bride and groom have very simplistic, rustic styles with a bit of “hip” flare, and want this to shine through in all of their wedding decor. They would like a space that accommodates both a ceremony and a reception so that their guests do not need to travel to two different locations during the winter weather season. Their wedding color scheme is ivy green, champagne and black - to match the warm, dark tones of the winter season.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Rebecca Hayter, Wednesday, May 8, 2019

Hello Everyone! My name is Rebecca Hayter and this is my first time making a mood board, I really enjoyed it!

This wedding has an Art Deco theme that's based off of the "Roaring 20's" and has a very vintage feel. It's romantic, elegant, and warm. The main colors are emerald, gold, white and blush. The wedding ceremony and reception will take place in Chicago, Illinois at an old car factory which has been refurbished.

The couple, SaraLouise and Eric, met at a swing dancing event and love everything to do with the stars. They have combined both their meeting and their loves into this Art Deco theme which is very near and dear to them. They have a live swing band throughout the event, a moon photo booth for guests to snap a memory of, swing dancing performances with a lesson afterwards for the guests to learn a few steps.

Cocktail hour with hors d'oeuvres while the couple takes pictures followed by a catered dinner and a dessert bar for the guests to enjoy.  A sparkler send off ends the night as the couple get into a 1922 Ford Model T that sweeps them off to their honeymoon.

With jazz music ringing in their ears, the guests depart with their gifts of handcrafted feather fans and pictures from the the photo booth. They will always remember this wedding and the love that SaraLouise and Eric share.

CWE Project 1

Posted By Daiana Montilla (M), Sunday, May 5, 2019

Hi! My name is Daiana Montilla. My goal as an event planner is to make everyone's special day memorable. This is exactly the reason why I'm taking this course. I want to become knowledgeable in this field and be able to release all the stress that an event can cause on my clients, and at the same time live the excitement with them. I have been doing event planning for about 8 months. I have done 10 events and and a total of 20 rentals. Not bad for a company so young. I have been taking this class for three weeks and learned so much information from my instructor. I am confident that this will guide me through this challenging field of event planner.
Royal prince baby shower is what I chose to present as project #1, it was an exciting experience as I got to choose colors, flavors, designs and details, that are important to make that beautiful event unforgettable. My favorite color is royal blue, this is why it was easy for me to combine these colors. I decided to use gold because the contrast with blue is beautiful, and I also included white to blend in with the flowers and throne Chair. This project gave me the experience of finding vendors, venues, food, games, and putting together everything I needed to organize any event. Baby showers are one of my favorite events, because it is the celebration of the arrival of a baby. And also a very special day in a couples life. The type of food I have selected is based on the couple's culture, both from the Dominican Republic. I organized the time line in a way that the future parents get to enjoy their party as well as record some memories.

CWEP Project 1

Project 1 – Blog Submission

My name is Adriana Jimenez.  I live in Arlington, TX.  I am a wife, a mother and a grandmother.  I currently work as a Customer Service Coordinator, but my true calling has always been event planning.  I have always loved to design and create centerpieces, and decorations for parties.  Planning parties is fun and it will be an exciting career.

I come from a family of creative minds and it has passed on to my daughter who will be my business partner when we launch our wedding and event planning business.  She has been taking this course with me and it has been a lot of fun and a great learning experience for both of us.  We have always wanted to become Certified Wedding and Event Planners and our dream is finally coming true.  It has always been our plan to own a family business.  It is something we have been talking about for a long time.   Becoming certified planners is a huge stepping stone towards our goal.

Getting started on Project 1 was a challenge for me because most of the course talks about weddings and my Project 1 is not a wedding.  I am planning a "Beauty and the Beast" theme Quinceanera.  It was hard to get started, but once I put my ideas on paper it was a fun project.  It helps me realize how much work it takes to be a professional planner and how much research is involved in putting the perfect event together.  Taking this course was the best decision for me.  I am finally doing what I have always wanted to do.

Updated: Wednesday, April 17, 2019

Hello My name is Cigale McFarlane, I live in Florida. I am an interior designer. I intend on becoming an international event planner. Engaging in weddings, birthday parties, corporate and fundraising events.

The course wasn’t exactly what I anticipated; It really requires a lot of time and research. This is good in that it will force you to do extensive research which will allow you to met or exceed your clients expectation. The first project was challenging for me because I was afraid of failing. It took me sometime to get started but once I did I got into the swing of things and got it done.

The project I did is a tropical themed wedding which embodies the personalities of the couple. The event will have fun entertainment throughout from steel bands to dancers and a singer. It will be a memorable and special event for the couple, family and friends.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Alejandra Galiano, Monday, April 15, 2019

Hi, my name is Alejandra, I was born in Colombia in the beautiful coast city of
Barranquilla. I moved to the United States in 2005 and I have lived in Florida ever since. I have loved everything about weddings since I was a little girl and I've always been a planner at heart. I've worked as an assistant coordinator for a wedding planner and I've also worked as the main event coordinator for a hotel, but after doing both of those things I decided to open my own company and be my own boss!

This assignment was really interesting because this is the first wedding I plan on my own for my company, Galiano Events. The bride comes from a very traditional religious Cuban family but both her and her fiance are a little more laid back. They will be having their ceremony at her church in Miami and the reception will be at a country club ballroom. Their color scheme is blush and navy and their style is a perfect blend between vintage and classic elegance.

I can make or customized favors such as tote bag for bridesmaid give away and for the guests favors I ‘am thinking of champagne glasses and coasters. Catering style will consist of Asian Food, Mediterranean, and American dish. The picture taking would be on top of the mountain after the ceremony concludes. Some of the decorations I found or I’m going to order from online. I even added this to my photo.  Additionally, light bulbs hanging on the canopy.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Kairavi Hariawala, Thursday, March 14, 2019

My name is Kairavi Hariawala, from Longview, Texas. I am currently a student with CWEP online course. I am truly enjoying and learning so much already! Ms. Cho Phillips and Lovegevity Team are so co-operative and supportive. I have been into planning and organizing small celebration events for family and friends since I could even remember. I can’t wait to complete this course and grow in this wedding and event industry. For CWEP project 1, I have made a mood board using the A8 formula for my adorable couple.

My couple Jamol & Tevon are from Louisiana. They met through a mutual friend 4 years ago. Both recently moved to Houston, Texas. Both share same love for music, food and movies. One loves to bake and the other loves to sing, just a perfect combination I would say! They want to get married in Houston, Texas on August 15th.

Jamol and Tevon both want a very formal & contemporary wedding. They are having a summer wedding ceremony in garden and reception indoors. They’ve picked out yellow color to be the color of their celebration! The bride will be wearing a beautiful strapless mermaid gown with cathedral style veil to accessorize with tiara, earrings, bracelets and open back slings. The groom will be wearing a suit with yellow waist coat and yellow tie to keep up with the theme. The bridesmaids will be dressed in yellow dresses and groomsmen will be in suits with yellow ties on them. Flower girls will be in cute cream colored dresses with yellow floral tiara for the wedding. Invitations will be printed on jacquard paper using thermography adding a platinum/silver bow on top. They’ve chosen soloist/live music along with ‘here comes the bride’ to be played in the background. Ceremony arch will be decorated with white and yellow carnations & roses/cattleya orchids. Catering will be buffet, so there will different sections and varieties of food, keeping in mind special dietary needs such as vegan/gluten-free/allergies. The tables will be covered with white sheets, yellow napkins, yellow/grey bow on the chairs with yellow and white floral center pieces. The wedding cake will be placed on a decorated table with their initials displayed. The ceremony will be completed by releasing beautiful doves. All the guests will be given set of favors such as bottle opener, heart-shaped magnets with bride and groom’s initials/date of marriage, couple of gift wrapped macaroons and/or candies or any other, appreciating their presence for the celebration of love. Horse-carriage will be arranged for the couple to ride/travel. Couple will be send off with bubbles to wish them good luck by their families, relatives and friends as they embark on this beautiful journey together, forever.

My name is Kimberly Nelms.  I currently work as a Medical Records Technician and I am a certified RHIT.  I am the CEO of YouNiquely Dezigned Events.  I love planning and organizing events so I decided to make it a business.  I currently reside in Cameron, NC.  I plan to expand my business as much as possible.'

I have learned so much in this course.  It has really taught me a lot about Event & Wedding Planning.  This was a very useful project.  I'm not much of a graphic designer so it was pretty challenging for me.  I think I did pretty well considering the facts.

My project presents a couple "Ashleigh & Jeremiah who chose to Destination Wedding with a Nautical/Beach theme.  The wedding took place on the beautiful beaches of St. Thomas.

CWEP - Project 1: Plan a Social Event or Wedding

Posted By Eriqa Burson, Tuesday, March 12, 2019

This is my Project 1 - planning a social event or wedding. This is Abbey's "Southern Elegant" wedding that she plans to have in October.

After meeting at a concert in 2015 through mutual friends, 2 years later, Abbey and Sam have decided to tie the knot. They went a year without talking, but finally decided to get in contact with each other and as a result is this beautiful union. Abbey and Sam want a “Southern Elegant” wedding in October of this year (2019). I chose Trump Winery, Burlington Plantation, and Upper Shirley Vineyard as venue choices for the couple because they all had a southern feel to them with beautiful scenic views. The couple also wanted the ceremony and reception to be held in the same area. Upper Shirley was the venue that caught the couple’s attention and fit the vision they were looking for. So, it was booked and Save The Dates were mailed shortly after.

Due to the couple’s love for Virginia Tech and the time of the year, they decided that they wanted Merlot, blush pink, gold, and black to be their colors. This fit the southern theme that they were trying to achieve and the flowers and other decorations helped give it a splash of elegance. The bride is wearing an A-line dress while the  bridesmaids, groom, and groomsmen's attire will go along with the color scheme. The wedding was planned for a Saturday evening so that the guests could witness the couple get married and take pictures in front of the sunset. Some of their favorites were also incorporated into this special day. From the Rolls Royce that the groom and groomsmen arrived in to the ice cream bar, everyone was able to add their personal touches to ensure that this day went exactly how they wanted. The guest could then go into the reception hall to have a plated dinner, enjoy the DJ, and share this special day with the happy couple. The guests will also be given Welcome Gifts at the hotel after the ceremony to commemorate the special day.

CWEP Project !

Posted By Stacia Jackson, Tuesday, March 12, 2019

Hello everyone!

I'm Stacia Jackson. The first project I will be planning is a wedding for Travis & Lorraine two high school sweethearts. They are very easy to work wit and are really just looking to enjoy their wedding night with their love ones. I let my clients give me their design options by going on Pinterest and pinning things they saw they liked. I created a canva mood board to see if it was what they wanted. They both liked the colors and the designs.  The wedding is scheduled to be in the Fall.
