18.6 Assignment

Posted By Constance Gamboa, Wednesday, April 3, 2019

Hello everyone!

I am attending the course at Colin College Plano TX.  I am a Chicago born and raised native relocated to Texas for the desire of more adventures in autumn 2014 and to no longer deal with those wicked winters! LOL

I have to say this was a lot more work than I thought it would be!   I have been a certified travel agent and working in the travel industry for the past 28 years.  I have always had the desire and knack for booking meetings & groups and wanted to add the additional certification to my resume.  I am not disappointed in the curriculum one bit!  If you can book a wedding you can most assuredly book any type of event.  The details that go into every bit was an eye opener and I could not be more pleased with the outcome of taking this course.

I am very excited to get myself going and branching out into the greater hospitality field of event planning.  My quote is and always be "life's a dream, make it eventful"

CWEP Project 1

Updated: Sunday, April 14, 2019
https://www.facebook.com/ChandlersGardens/videos/285821015368337/

My name is Jo Dee Krotz of Fort Worth, TX. I'm thrilled to be taking the CWEP course as my husband and I have procured a property in SE Iowa we'll be restoring to create a wedding venue. I believe the information and skill set provided throughout this course will fuel me with confidence to continue forward with our venue, 1884 On the Bluff.

For Project 1 I chose to create a Woodland Romance. I created a romantic love story for Jody and Billie; and they are getting married with the trees as their focal point, surrounded by a poetic, and romantic outdoor theme! The wix site link with the 8 A's & lots more is: https://jdakrotz.wixsite.com/brecheendream

The first time Jody noticed Billie he was working as a life-guard in Wichita Falls Country Club swimming pool. Billie was alongside a few girlfriends; but Jody said: "SHE really stood out. She was wearing an unforgettable red one-piece swimsuit which caught my eye. I was smitten from that day on. She’s so funny, artistic, and kind. I knew I would marry her someday." Not only did our tanned and fit, lifeguard who, as Billie adds, “sported natural waves of sun-kissed blonde curls” also garner Billie's notice; she said after they met... "He was just so smart and funny there wasn't anything else in the world I wanted more than to spend my life with Jody."

On April 11, 2017, after almost four years of long-distance dating between The University of Texas, where Jody was in college, and Midwestern State University, where Billie was attending college, she said “Yes!” during a hillside picnic serenade where Jody strummed his guitar and her heartstrings to John Denver's "Annie's Song." Earlier that day, Billie packed a picnic basket full of her famous homemade fried chicken, homemade bread & butter, and chocolate chip cookies, all Jody's favorites. She was to meet Jody at their favorite picnic spot midway their long-distance drive. As Billie arrived, she noticed Jody's sweet Golden Retriever, Louie, waiting under the couple's tree, where they had met on such occasions many times before. Louie was atop a set blanket, his neck wrapped in a wreath of spring wildflowers, and next to a large sign that read: “Will you marry us?” Jody stepped out from behind the tree, got down on one knee and proposed. Of course, Billie said “Yes!” Louie provided the ring atop his nose and Jody sang his heart out for the love of his life.

Billie and Jody spent the following year planning their life, livelihood, and wedding. They will tie-the-knot May 14, 2019, which is a collectively sentimental date for our couple. Many purposeful details were themed to fashion a genuine eagerness for all who would attend their wedding including: "Save The Date" cards with a tree design reflective of their engagement spot and invitations depicting the rings of a tree. The tree is the primary binding theme which will play out throughout the engagement, wedding, and reception.

For their big day, our couple prepared a magical evening under the stars at Chandler's Gardens in Celina, TX. The duo will wed in “The Secret Garden” under a tree. The space will be filled with lilting romantic, acoustic guitar serenades. Following the ceremony there will be a cocktail hour with lots of filling bit-sized eats, a reception guaranteed to make guests smile, a delightful dinner, a romantic bon fire, photo booth, and invitations to show-off dance moves with Next Level Entertainment at the theatrical helm. There will be lots of little aesthetic surprises throughout this enchanting beginning. And, Louie will also be fully participating in the festivities, affording comedic, sweet release to accompany the substantial significance of the day’s beautiful events.

As for their lives together, Jody will be teaching 6th grade Celina Elementary School students Science as well as Physical Education. Jody has already amassed multiple original songs with his guitar to help his students motivate and memorize while learning. Billie will be teaching art classes at the same school. This creative and soulful couple will rent a little house on the outskirts of town, with lots of room and good shade for Louie. They will move in together following their honeymoon to St. Lucia island. It is easy to deduce their life together will be colorful, music filled, and full of love.

My Lovegevity Experience Superseded My Expectations!

Posted By Diane Rogers, Tuesday, September 25, 2018
Updated: Tuesday, September 25, 2018

Hello Fellow Planners!

This course has been nothing short of a true blessing!  It has been one of the most thought provoking contributors to not only what and how I want to see my business, but it has challenged me to really seek out and search for my God- Given Ministry or Purpose (if you will) and just how the two are linked. When deciding to take this course, I never once imagined or even thought that it would cause me seek out my true purpose on earth and now here I Am!  This course from beginning to end has been more relevant to what I will actually need and be expected to know as an Events Planner Business Owner than my 4 year Bachelors of Business Admin Degree ever did.  I just only wish that I had discovered my niche back then and saved myself about 50k. Nevertheless, This has taken me step by step to making sure all my business affairs are in order so that I run not only a successful business but also a LEGAL business.  For Instance, I would have never thought that business insurance would have been affordable for me, but with the requirements of this course, it caused me to search to see that it as not nearly as bad as I had expected. I love the fact that this course has helped me to think outside the box and to consider my options for philanthropy, how to connect the dots with my business and how I can lend access to my followers and supporters to contribute right from my very own web page. I think I could go on and on about this course, so I better spare you as the reader!

All and All, I absolutely loved this course and every challenge it brought my way! (including the most daunting assignment 6.1). I'm so thankful for this one because it has definitely given me a jumpstart on connecting with some top notch Vendors. This course will be highly recommended for my future mentees.

Thank You,

Cho Phillips & Lovegevity University!

CWEP Project 1

Hello everyone, my name is Abigail Robison. I am from Amarillo, Texas and am currently interning with a wedding designer here in town. Before I knew I wanted to be a wedding planner I had went to college for 3 years to become a nurse, but was never truly in love with it, and that is whenever I figured out that my true calling was wedding planning. My plans are to finish this course and continue on with my internship to learn all that I can so that one day I can start my own business. This project really challenged me, because I have never thought of trying to come up with a "fake" wedding, but plan it with real vendors from around town. I think that this project will really help me in the long run, because I now know almost every vendor and how to contact them if need be. In my project I created a wedding for a young couple who wanted to get married in a old modern warehouse and turn it into a garden. I did all light colors and really blended them into the warehouse feel. I had so much fun with this project and really wish that this was a real wedding that I could get to do.

Attire- For attire I chose a picture of a dress that I truly found beautiful, and some shoes, hair, and make-up to go along with it for the bride. For the bridesmaids I chose a light pink off the shoulder flowing dress that would look perfect with the garden theme. For the groom and groomsmen I chose a navy blue tux, pink bow tie, and brown dress shoes.

Accessories- That I didn't go into as much detail because it really depends on the bride, but I did choose some shoes that I thought were beautiful

Anticipation- I feel like I really was thorough with this subject. I have at least 3 pictures on every slide and went into detail on why I chose what

Arrival- I feel like I really was thorough with this subject. I have at least 3 pictures on every slide and went into detail on why I chose what

Atmosphere- I did completely different slides for what I thought would look best at the ceremony, and reception. I also did a slide for the flowers.

Appetite- I talked about who I would use for the catering and what type of food it would be

Amusement- I talked about a local cover band that I would use that is a lot of fun

Apprecation-  I feel like I really was thorough with this subject. I have at least 3 pictures on every slide and went into detail on why I chose what

Local Resources/Vendors- I only used local people in my project

Timeline- Yes I did a timeline and included a music score with it

I believe a lot of creative energy came about while working on the grand opening. While I have some time before I am completely ready to host my launch party, I believe this portion of the class gave me so many tools that I can take with me and apply to my business. I am forever grateful for my instructor Mr. Tony, He was such an amazing guild through this journey.

My Experience as a Lovegevity Student

Posted By Lauren Grzymala, Wednesday, April 12, 2017

I can remember being a senior in high school, not really having any clue what I wanted to do with my career. I selected a local college, majoring in Criminal Justice and minoring in Spanish. I woke up for my classes every day, never really feeling motivated or interested in the material I was learning. After a year and a half in a major I hated, I decided I should take a break from college to focus on my work experience, and to figure out my passions. It didn't take long for me to figure out how much I loved working with people, and through planning my own wedding, the events leading up to it, and other parties for family and friends, I discovered my true passion was in wedding and event planning. I researched schools and programs endlessly, wanting to ensure I chose the perfect one to give me an edge in the industry.

I was reading a blog about the topic when I came across the link for The Wedding Planning Institute by Lovegevity. After yet more research, and with the guiding and supportive hand of my husband, I enrolled in the courses with Lovegevity, and I can honestly say I could not have made a better decision with where to further my education. Lovegevity gave me so much more than just the knowledge of the industry. I wasn't just majoring in Wedding and Event Planning; I also majored in Social Media Marketing, Business, and even got a glance into Legal processes. This program has already given me an edge unlike any other, at a time where there is an amazing market opportunity for my business.

If you would have told me three years ago that I would be getting my certification in Wedding and Event Planning and starting my own business, I would have walked away in disbelief. Now, I have the strength, confidence, and knowledge to take me further than I ever would have dreamed, in a field I could not be more passionate or in love with. Thank you, Lovegevity, for helping me find my way when I had no direction, and for giving me the knowledge and skills to build my dream career!

My time as a LWPI Student

Posted By Christina Grier, Tuesday, August 30, 2016

It's crazy realizing my first course with Lovegevity is almost coming to an end. I'm excited about finishing up these last projects and assignments and preparing to take the exam. Had I started out on my own trying to get my wedding planning business off the ground, it would have been much more difficult. Now, with the help of LWPI and the training I've received as a soon-to-be certified wedding and event planner, I have so much more confidence to go out and meet brides to help them plan their wedding day.

That's what I feared most prior to starting this class. A wedding day is one of the most momentous occasions in life. I would have hated if I'd dont anything (even unintentional) to mess up or dampen a Bride's big day. I now feel confident in what I'm doing, and know I'm capable of walking a couple through the process to plan their wedding. It's also great timing since my boyfriend just proposed 2 weeks ago, so now I get to be my own first client! As I begin to plan my own wedding, I will put to use what I've learned, and will see through trial and error, what works and what may have been better left to other professionals. The most important thing I've taken away though is to use my own advice. I believe all Bride's should hire at least a day-of coordinator if possible. So while I'll be the guinea pig in planning this first wedding, I will hire a month-of coordinator to hand over all the details to make my day perfect.

Thank you LWPI for teaching me so much! I'm excited for what's to come.

-Christina

My Experience with Lovegevity

Posted By Kristina Akhmametyeva, Tuesday, August 16, 2016
Updated: Tuesday, August 16, 2016

Being a student of the Lovegevity Wedding Planning Institute has been rewarding. Wedding planning has always been something I was really interested in and passionate about, but I started out in the science and medical field. I was aspiring to be a dentist, until I lost someone very dear to me, which made me reanalyze my life. So, I had made the decision to venture out of my comfort life path to try something I loved as much as dentistry. After doing some research online, I came across Lovegevity Wedding Planning Institute. Now I am near the end of my first course and introduction to wedding and event planning industry.

My experience as a student of Longevity has been a new and exciting because I didn't know a lot of the ins and outs of this industry and I have gained respect. This course has provided me with the knowledge that I needed to get started as a wedding planner and hopefully soon a successful business owner. I do however still need to get more experience in the field and am looking forward to many internship opportunities. Lovegevity has provided ample networking connections and options for event planners. The assignments and projects will be useful for me once I start my business. Overall, I enjoyed this course and would recommend this course to other aspiring wedding and event planners.
