CWEP PROJECT 3

Posted By Hannah Balch, Sunday, June 13, 2021

I've always had a love for planning events and thought it would be interesting to learn about wedding planning!  I decided to do this course to start my career as an event planner and to help me get my foot in the door. After working with another planner for an internship or an “apprentice” type job,  I hope to start my own business. So far I have enjoyed this course, even though it got overwhelming at times, I have learned so much.

La Petite Fleur & Events Co. is here to help you have the event of your dreams no matter what your budget is!  The name "La Petite Fleur & Events Co." came to me as I was finding words that relate to my business and services. La Petite Fleur will be a floral design business. I  will also be offering several different kinds of event rentals, such as greenery walls, chandeliers, balloon arches, etc.

My brand is targeting all types of clients. I promise to do my best to create the PERFECT event no matter how big or small your budget is! Discounts are always offered for military, first responders, and elderly couples.

Our event will take place at our business location. It will have elements of floral design and will make it exceptionally interesting and fun! We have partnered with some of our preferred vendors who will be in attendance.

We will also be accepting donations for shelters for people who have been victims of abuse. We will invite family and friends, but our main focus will be to attract everyone to introduce our services to!

To market our event we will start a countdown to the event on social media that will act as a reminder and build anticipation. We will also invite industry leaders as well like Brides of North Texas and local wedding bloggers.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Dakota Lopez, Monday, May 17, 2021

Hi everyone, my name is Dakota and I am the founder of Joy and Bliss Event Planning, located in Central Florida. This company was founded from the love and passion I have of planning and organizing events, and making people's dream wedding/events come to life.

I created logo that is simple and that also has a rustic touch. It’s a floral wreath that surrounds the business name inside it: Joy & Bliss Event Planning.

For my company logo I chose colors, that I love and that give a welcoming/happy vibe such as pink, light yellow, sage green, and white. Those colors will also be included in my business office interior design. The logo especially will be in all of the marketing for the business such as the stationery, as well as on every social media platform. I want my clients to feel at ease, and get the chance to be stress free with planning their special event.

When I started to design my brand's identity, I was thinking of what style I would hope to see when meeting and trusting an wedding/event planner. That's why I have affordable packages and additional services to aim for any size budget. I wanted to be able to help those who want to do most of the work, with some guidance, and those that don't want to hands on at all. My ideal client of the two types would be the first, a client that has a good idea of what they want, and want to be hands on throughout the process. All of my company's packages are customizable, so everyone can find something they are looking for.

My goal with Joy and Bliss Event Planning is to help others plan all of their special events ranging from birthdays, baby showers and all things wedding related.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By kayla brockenberry, Tuesday, April 27, 2021

Hello, I am Kayla Brockenberry from Washington DC.

I Currently work as a armed security and I run 2 businesses as well, I am trying to become my own bossy fulltime and I have always wanted to do wedding planning but I felt I never had the time so now I am making time to get my dreams and goals off the ground. I haven't been to school in a while so some of these projects are kind of hard for me but I am trying to have some patience with myself and learn. I have read some on the blogs and they are very beautiful and eye catching I just wanted to maybe do something a little Different  for even myself and show something that I do not see very often. So I chose to do a black wedding in the woods and I love it because it rare and I mean not only the colors but the venue as well. Its beautiful and elegant scenery.

CWEP PROJECT #1 MENTORED GROUP ABEKI CARTER

Posted By Cheryl-Ann Mallett, Monday, March 29, 2021

Hi!

Hello everyone,

I am Cheryl-Ann Mallett and I am from Bronx, New York. As a little girl I've always enjoyed seeing beautiful brides on their wedding day. Hoping that one day I will be able to create beautiful moments for my brides. One would say, dreams do come true!

Choosing this course was the best thing for myself and my business. I started this program with some knowledge about the industry now, I am much more educated and prepared for what it takes to be involved in such a fast growing business. Being a wedding or event planner takes a lot of trial and error. Learning is never ending and there's so many people we all can learn from.

"Bring Your A Game" For project #1, I had so much fun. I was able to creative.  Now that I have found my ground, I am manifesting and working towards booking my first wedding client. However, project #1 certainly prepared  me about the processes of planning a wedding for my clients. Here's a sneak peek about my project.

Meet Lisonya and Andre, they met while working for the same company in 2015, living in Bronx NY. Lisonya had no interest in Andre at the time. However, Andre saw the sparks fling, in that moment he knew she was the one. Being a single father it was important to Andre that Lisonya and his child shared a bond. And so they did, the two became inseparable. Gradually the relationship grew beyond their expectations. The couple has been dating for a little over  five years, Andre realized he didn’t want to spend another day not knowing that Lisonya wasn’t his wife. He planned a romantic dinner on valentines day, he asked and she said “YES!”

The two are over the moon about their nuptials. The wedding will take place on Saturday, December 18, 2021. At the beautiful VIP Country Club.

Project 1 "Allen & Kendra"

Posted By Alexandra McCain, Sunday, December 6, 2020
Updated: Sunday, December 6, 2020

My name is Alexandra McCain and I am from a small town outside of Baltimore, Maryland. One day I hope to run my own event planning business in Maryland. I love to plan and events and use my style and creativity to create experiences people will enjoy and remember. I am new to the industry so I am looking to network and eventually shadow an existing wedding planner or work for a wedding planning company. I have no prior experience with this course, so everything is fairly new to me but I am so grateful and excited about this new endeavor and all the information I’m receiving. My first project is a wedding planned for a couple, Allen and Kendra. The idea behind this wedding was inspired by the glamor and spunk of the 1920’s era. The bride wanted to incorporate feathers and pearls into the ceremony and reception space, both carrying sentimental value. This young couple loves to party and indulge, so they want their wedding to be filled with delicious local food, tons of drinks, and live music.

Hi everyone!  My name is Calista!  I'm originally fro Michigan but then moved to Florida for like 6 years and now I'm back in Michigan!  I'm turning 22 soon and have only really been focusing on schooling so I haven't had any major jobs or done anything related to this besides helping plan every party and event in my family and some friends weddings.  As soon as I finish this certification I plan to work for another company until I can get the money to start my own business!  So far my experience in this course has been super fun and exciting!  I put this project off for a while because life got super busy and complicated, but I'm glad I'm finally getting it done!  I can't wait to see what else this course has in store!  For this project I decided to use ideas for my own wedding!  The theme is tropical with lots of greens, oranges, pinks, and purples.  It will have a very Hawaiian vibe throughout and I'm super excited to share it with y'all!

CWEP Project Three

Posted By Rose Lynne D. Basa, Sunday, September 27, 2020

Rose Lynne Basa, a Certified Wedding and Event Planner and Long Island native plans to launch Weddings On A Dime, the new full service wedding and event planning business to watch out for. They plan to offer engaged couples and prospective clients a complimentary initial consultation to discuss their vision for their dream wedding or event. The wedding and event industry is the epitome of an evergreen industry that will continue to thrive over the years as there is a constant flow of couples getting engaged and people wanting to throw special events everyday. To combat the expensive costs of these plannings events, Weddings On A Dime was created from a passion for event planning and designing while on a budget. They truly believe that even if a client is planning a wedding or event “on a dime” or on a limited budget that it does not mean that they cannot successfully achieve their dream event.

This course was so much more helpful than I could have ever expected. Lovegevity gives you all of the resources and information that you may need to learn about the wedding and event planning industry. I thought it was very interesting that they set you up with all of the tools you need to start your own business if you choose to. With each project that we've had, it seems quite fitting that we are ending on our very own grand opening event for our business.

For the grand opening event, I wanted potential clients and vendors to get a sneak peak of the vision that I have for the future of Weddings On A Dime. Ultimately, I hope to establish my wedding and event planning business as a significant figure in the industry. My goal is to introduce guests to my new business while still showing them an unforgettable good time whether it be from the amazing food, to the bridal fashion show, to the beautiful venue, to the raffle to raise money for Save the Children.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Casey M. LeBlanc, Monday, August 31, 2020

I am Casey LeBlanc, owner of Casey LeBlanc Events in Pascagoula, MS. The inspiration behind my branding is a classic palette mixed with natural elements and lots of texture to create a timeless, luxurious feel. I started my first event planning business 9 years ago. We’ve since lived in 3 different states. Moving around, I’ve learned that creating a brand identity that can be successful in any area is key to preserving my time and branding dollars.

My ideal wedding client is mid 20s - 40s. While the big extravagant weddings are always incredible to pull together, my favorite weddings have always been the intimate weddings with around 150 guests and under. There is something to be said for having the ones that love you most surrounding you on your wedding day.

Non Profit Fundraising Events are also a huge part of my business and passion. These clients are harder to target in age range, as I seek out organizations for the work they do. If their mission is something I can really get behind, they are my target.

Thank you for checking out my Project 2!

OBJECTIVE 18.6: BLOG CONTRIBUTION

Posted By Nikeva Lawrence, Thursday, August 27, 2020

Hi everyone!!  My name is Nikeva.  Originally from Washington, DC, I now live in Chicago where I am the CEO & Lead Planner of SouthWind Events, LLC.   While I have been planning weddings for nearly 15 years, SouthWind Events (SWE) didn’t officially come into existence until 2017 when I decided that I love wedding planning so much that I wanted to pursue it full time.  In these past 3 years, I have planned and/or designed nearly 20 events for our amazing clients.  I have become an Accredited Event Designer with the Institute of Wedding & Event Design (IWED) and am now working to be a Certified Wedding & Event Planner through Lovegevity.  SWE was blessed to be awarded The Knot’s 2020 Best of Weddings and Wedding Wire’s 2020 Couple’s Choice Awards.

I have to say that wedding planning is truly my passion.  I'm very clear that it is the planning portion of my job that I love the most.  In corporate America, I spent over a decade working as a project manager.  I realized about a year after starting SWE that I was using the exact same skillset - managing teams, resources, schedules & budget!   So I guess this was just destined for me.

This Lovegevity course has confirmed many business decisions I've made and also challenged me to change in other areas.  So I am grateful that I took the step to pursue this now.

I would love to meet & connect with other Lovegevity students/graduates as we all grow, learn & succeed together!!   Feel free to reach out me on my website, Instagram or Facebook.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Sarah Wade, Monday, August 17, 2020

"Artisan Events is committed to turning dreams into memories." Welcome to my brand! I was first inspired by the idea of custom, hand-crafted service for my clients. Much like handmade gifts from a boutique, my services will be unique with an unmatched attention to detail. The overall mood of my branding was inspired by colors from nature - deep jewel tones, earth tones, greens and whites. I have a passion for finding environmentally sustainable solutions so this brand identity and these colors feel appropriate. The environment will be a focus for me as an event planner and I hope to pass that onto my clients as something to set me apart from the rest.

Although I won't be officially starting my business until my husband and I are stationed in the U.S., I plan to build my brand in the next year by catering to military couples and families at our current base. The military community will continue to be my target market when we settle into our next base. I know it may seem crazy to focus on the environment when branding for military-based clients, but it is actually a growing concern for many throughout the community and I feel it will be appreciated! There are so many unique situations that military couples find themselves in, like last-minute changes and rushed marriages, that I will be able to empathize with and cater to. I will also encourage my clients to utilize relationship resources since divorce and infidelity is so widespread in the military.

With my past experience photographing weddings and assisting with the behind-the-scenes coordination of a few small weddings, I feel excited to get involved again but it has been a while! That's where this certification will really help. I'm looking forward to using my skills again in my own business and serving the community.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Andrea A. Gutierrez, Tuesday, June 30, 2020

My name is Andrea Gutierrez from Los Angeles, California. I used to work in hospitality and now I want to become my own boss. My goal as an event planner is to be as knowledgeable as I can be in the industry and to make all my future clients happy. My experience with project one took a long time because I am a perfectionist and I want to make sure I am doing everything correctly. I was able to find different vendors via Pinterest and the knot.com. By completing this project, I have realized how much research and time goes into planning a wedding, especially if a couple hires you with different and conflicting ideas. For this project, the couple wants a summer wedding  at a California Winery consisting of no more than 200 guests. .The color palette consists of baby blue, white, gold, and ivory with a touch of green. The couple is family oriented, therefore the have included nieces, nephews, and their dog in their weeding. The bride will carry a white rose hand-tied bouquet with a pendant of her late family members hanging from it. The reception is based in a winery so wine will be served for cocktail hour and the guests will leave with a bottle of wine as an appreciating gift.

Assignment 18.6 Blog Contribution

Posted By Nicole L. Culver, Sunday, June 21, 2020

Hi there!

My name is Nikki Culver. I reside in Buckley, WA, I am 25 years old, married, and have a miniature Goldendoodle.

What inspired me to look in to wedding and event planning initially was because I planned my own wedding and loved every moment of it! I had a day of coordinator but otherwise did the rest on my own. I realized the importance of making big decisions as well as the importance of emotional support. Because of not having a planner to go to if I needed to, I found a desire to be that for someone else. So, here I am!

I started my Online Lovegevity Certified Wedding and Event Planning Course May 25th 2020. I am on track to finish in the next 1-2 weeks. I currently am a Medical Scribe at a doctors office and enjoy what I do there, but I am ecstatic to become my own business owner! I look forward to making my own schedule especially but also cannot wait to help others and provide ease in their planning process.

I am feeling confident in the guidance I was given throughout this course. I do not doubt my potential in any future work and cannot wait to get started!

Best,

Nikki :)

Through adversity, DylADor was birthed and became a reality!

Posted By Heather Bowles, Monday, June 1, 2020
Hi, my name is Heather G. Bowles from Nassau, Bahamas but temporarily residing in Miami, Florida dealing with my son while in hospital. I studied architecture and was working in areas that would get me as close to project coordination as possible. In the interim, I would plan numerous events for close friends and family realizing that this made me passionate. In 2018, I then became my own client when planning my very own wedding from start to finish! I succeeded, was commended by onlookers on the entire day leaving me to question if I was in the right career LOL!

In 2019, I was made redundant and later got pregnant. I was stuck stressed trying to figure out what job would hire me so that I could help get things paid. I was always a self-driven type of person who needed to occupy their mental capacity. I was not good at sitting home doing nothing. My 2nd twin had to be airlifted to Miami and here I found time to just think about my life and career.

In March of 2020, amongst the stress, I started the Lovegevity Certified Wedding & Event Planning course online due to COVID -19.

I have planned, designed and produced many small to mid-sized events in the past, but the decision of making it a lifetime career made me want to expand my knowledge in the industry and learn new things everyday. The Lovegevity program has provided me the necessary tools, structure and reassurance in order to improve my confidence in becoming a Certified Wedding and Event Planner. My awareness of the business and marketing aspects have increased immensely. I have been introduced to efficient software to adequately perform my duties and continue to be professional. It is also made very known and emphasized that remaining one step ahead of the industry in your area, maintaining your brand all while understanding that remaining relatable is one of the many keys to successful businesses! I am excited to see what tomorrow brings once COVID clears a bit. COVID has come to give us all a time out and recoup, reset and revive! All the best to upcoming students!

CWEP Project 1 "Mood Board"

Posted By Brooklyn Andrews, Monday, May 25, 2020
Updated: Tuesday, May 26, 2020

Hello! My name is Brooklyn. I'm very new to wedding planning. I haven't even been to many weddings. I decided during the coronavirus quarantine that this was the career path I wanted to take. I've always loved planning and organizing but never thought I could do it for my job. Everything from budgets and venues all the way to the day of the wedding is so exciting to me. At this point in my life I'm not interested in owning my own company, I would like to work for someone else's company instead. I'm excited to see where God takes me on this journey!

The mood board I created is for a couple who wants a rustic, yet classy wedding. The color scheme is peach, rose gold, and gold. I had so much fun creating this!

CWEP Project 1.3 - Mood Board

Posted By Mary E. Tindle, Saturday, January 18, 2020
Updated: Tuesday, February 4, 2020

Hi everyone, my name is Mary Tindle and I live in Katy, Texas, a part of the greater Houston area. For the last 20 years I have enjoyed a career in the oil and gas industry in which I started right out of college as a low-level drafter and worked my way up to Design Supervisor running the drafting group. I was able to accomplish this due to my leadership skills and ability to adapt to ever changing requirements and time schedules while maintaining deadlines and satisfying the client. However, the oil and gas industry is unpredictable with more and more jobs going overseas, so now is a great time to change careers to something that I am very passionate about, wedding and event planning. My ultimate goal is to have my own wedding and event planning business, with a flair for unique, themed, and eccentric events. Being in the Houston area and close to cities like San Antonio and Austin, there are lots of possibilities for large events that I would love to plan.

While I have no professional experience in event planning, I have planned several parties and events such as my own vow renewal ceremony that was extremely well received. I have planned baby showers and parties for friends and family. I put together a Halloween extravaganza a few years back, which included a haunted house that I designed and built. Our house was voted #1 decorated house in our subdivision and years later, people still ask if we are doing it again and have even offered to help with set up. I love to use my creativity to plan, organize, coordinate, and decorate any event and party possible from conception through execution. I can accomplish this by using my extensive design and leadership skills that I've developed over the years.

I chose to attend the Certified Master Wedding and Events course through Texas A&M. I am loving every minute of it so far. To see my visions take on a definition of their own is such a delight for me. I have a huge imagination with an enormous amount of creativity that has been aching to get out. For me, the sky is the limit. I can catalyze anyone’s vision and make their dream event come true. Once I get started, there is no stopping me.

For project 1, My couple is Hannah Davis and Alex Baker and this is their story:

Hannah and Alex met through a mutual friend at work. In their spare time, they immerse themselves in a world full of fantasy and adventure. Their quirky personalities and lighthearted approach to life are a perfect match. As avid adventurers, they are often inspired by Steampunk designs rooted in the 19th century culture where fantasy meets futuristic fashion, style and art characterized by the industrial revolution. They have requested a “Vintage Victorian Steampunk” inspired wedding experience. They're wedding is planned for June 14th, 2021 which is recognized as International Steampunk Day.

The couple both love vibrant shades of berry and lavender complimented with green and gold. Beautiful bouquets and tablescapes filled with floral combinations of burgundy calla lilies, dark red roses, hypericum berries and natural foliage accented with golden gadgets and gears paired with the natural glow of soft vintage lighting make for a very dreamy atmosphere.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Kayla N. Rickner (Bickell), Monday, December 9, 2019
For this assignment, I put together a mood board for an early 30's couple that is planning a Napa Valley wedding. Wanting to blend the sophistication of Italy to the comfort of their California home, I looked for images that paired elegant with familiar. For example, a wine and cheese hors d'oeuvres buffet style, or gold-trimmed wine glasses placed alongside wooden plates.

Project 3

Posted By Vanessa Cowles, Sunday, December 8, 2019

Vanessa Cowles will be launching an event design house in Richmond, Va on June 28, 2020. She recently completed an event planning certification from LWPI at VCU. This will event will cater to both vendors and guests in search of event design help. During the event La Bella team and Vanessa will work the room to provide guests with questionnaires and to engage vendors interested in building relationships and curating preferred vendor lists.

The grand opening will allow all guests to intimately know what drives the business, our connection to the community and commitment to creativity and event perfection. We don't just plan and coordinate events, we design based on our clients unique interests. Guests will also see a live portfolio, where there will be small demonstrations of the design process and mock ups of event decor. Light brunch will be served, and there will be a mimosa bar with other light refreshment options for our guests. Girls For a Change spokesperson will be present to share their cause and how the community can be further involved with the organization.

Project 3 was my favorite of them all. I am a major believer in manifesting our goals and this was an exercise on doing just that. I've learned so much during this term. The wealth of information shared by my instructor has been invaluable and my growth in inudustry knowledge is quite measurable. This course has been much more comprehensive than expected. The description just doesn't do it justice. Cant wait to showcase all that I've learned to my future mentors, peers, and clients.

Project 1

Posted By Wanda Bryce, Tuesday, November 19, 2019

Hello, My name is Wanda Bryce and I have finally completed my last assignment. I chose to plan a bi-cultural wedding with Jamaican and French connections. Given that I am Jamaican and I am in love with the French culture of romance I thought this was ideal.

This wedding is being held for a bi-racial, bi-cultural, millennial couple. Chris is the Groom, he is a Caucasian French-American and the Bride, Lia, is a black Jamaican woman. The couple met in Brooklyn, New York where they explored and solidified their love for each other. Chris proposed at a mutual friend’s yatch party while docked at the Statue of Liberty on New Year’s Day, January 2019 at 12:01am. The wedding is set to be held at Chris’ childhood country home in France. The décor and design will pay homage to Chris’ culture while the food, music and most of the appreciation tokens will reflect Lia’s Jamaican heritage. The atmosphere will include family members from Jamaica and France enjoying the celebration while getting to know each other and learn the respective cultures.

The wedding planner will use the A8 Formula to illustrate the event. The Bride and Groom’s attire will be fitting for their personality, venue selection and day-of weather conditions. The couple will sport a modern, yet slightly vintage and chic look. The Bride and Groom’s accessories will complement their attire and accentuate the entire look. The couple will wear minimum jewelry but the select pieces will no-doubt be a show stopper. The theme of the wedding will reflect the Bride and Groom’s culture and personality with signature styles such as the Bride’s favorite color, purple/lavender, being the focal theme and a slight inclusion of the New York City life with small décor such as yellow cab, Statue of Liberty ornaments with one of three photo booths being “Brooklyn-Nets” themed. The other two photo booths will be Eiffel Tower themed and Jamaican Sunset Themed. The menu will consist mainly of traditional Jamaican meals such as Jamaican pepper shrimp cocktail, Jamaican escovitch fish and bammy, Jamaican oxtail and steamed vegetables and Jamaican Jerk Chicken and rice and peas being served from a live Jerk Chicken Grill. The drink options will vary between choices such as Jamaican Rum punch and Jamaican Rum cream and an assorted list of French Wines.

Guests will enjoy traditional Jamaican folk dance performance and a traditional French music performance. The DJ will play from a curated playlist consisting of Dancehall, Reggae, 90s R&B Hits and French party music. Guests will leave with numerous tokens of appreciation from French desserts to Jamaican Red Label Win samples. The Cake will be in the shape of the Eiffel Tower but the flavor will be that of Jamaican black cake. A secondary buttercream map of Jamaica cake will be available for those who would prefer something less traditional.
