CWEP Project 1

Posted By Bianca Evans, 18 hours ago
Updated: 18 hours ago

Hi Everyone! My name is Bianca and I am from Houston Texas. I have wanted to be a wedding planner since I was 13 years old when I helped out with my cousin's wedding. My goal is to work for a small company with a team of planners. Right now I am working as a paid part time day of assistant with a planner. I will start a 10 week internship with her in a couple weeks. To this day, I have done one solo wedding outside of her for a friend of a friend and am planning two more weddings for friends one being this April.

This mood board was inspired by my childhood friend's wedding next year in Colorado. She wants a January wedding and is already looking into a venue in the mountains for a warm and festive ambiance.

Project 3

Posted By Katelyn Zirpel, Tuesday, November 13, 2018

Hello for my project 3 my grand opening mission is to make a couples big day the most perfect and happiest day of their lives, from the little details to the unique ideas. By doing this, I hope to get the word out about my business and what I have to offer to the wedding and event planning industry. Not only do I want to get the word out about my new business, but I also want to give back to the community by hosting fundraisers for charity and pick a couple in need to give them great wedding giveaways.

Posted By Blandine Bechecloux, Thursday, November 8, 2018

Hello! My name is Blandine Bechecloux, I am French, from Reunion Island. I have a Bachelor Degree in English Language and a French Certification in Wedding Planning and Wedding Designer.

Living in a paradisiac island made me fall in love with weddings and the way they are made. I am taking this course to learn more about the American way of making Weddings and Special Events. I hope to open my own company one day.

I realized a mood board for Nathalie and Alex's wedding. The couple is very fond of Fall and wanted their wedding on the theme "Fall in Love" with the colors orange, yellow and burgundy. The wedding will be taking place in one of the most beautiful garden of Richmond, Maymont. Find attached the mood board i created for CWEP Project 1.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By LaShaye Allen, Wednesday, October 31, 2018
Hello my name is LaShaye and I am from Little Rock, Arkansas. I am currently a customer service representative for an insurance company however my passion is event planning. I currently help friends and family members plan baby showers, birthday parties and an assortment of other events. My goal to eventually plan more larger scale events and to be known as a creative genius! This is currently my first course in professional event planning however I am loving it. I had the pleasure to plan this fall themed wedding for Jamie and Brian. I have enjoyed creating a wedding for my clients because they are not very traditional. My clients don’t want a wedding cake, they love pop and rock music and the words  fun and outgoing are used to describe the couple. This couple decided to go with the color scheme of blush pink and navy blue. The bride and bridesmaids will all be adorned in "flowy" sheath dresses while the men will wear navy suits with pink accessories There will be plenty of food and tons of activities for the guests to participate in.

CWEP- Project 1

Posted By Kelly B. Ducote (Parker), Tuesday, October 23, 2018
Updated: Tuesday, October 23, 2018

Hello! My name is Kelly Ducote & I live in Greenback, TN. I worked in banking for over 12 years and during that time planned many community events for the bank(s) I worked for. Within that time frame I found my calling & always wanted to pursue my dream job in becoming an event planner. I currently am an event coordinator for the company I work for. I plan anything from weddings, graduation parties, corporate events to baby showers & memorial services. My plan is to finish this course and start my own company.

My experience in the class has been very informational. Though some things I already knew, I am finding/learning new things every day! I enjoy hearing real life experiences from local event coordinators & vendors. Learning the finer details through this curriculum has helped me even in my current job with helping brides plan their weddings. I also learned the importance of having great relationships with vendors so that for future events we can work seamlessly together and create a wonderful experience for our client.

My inspiration for the wedding I planned for this project was an actual client of mine at my work who will be getting married this December. They are a very fun and loving couple who plan to have a huge wedding of 400 guest. So this has been the biggest wedding I have planned thus far. Though their wedding is in December the bride's favorite colors are gold and plush pink. Their vision is that their wedding will be very elegant with touches of gold & pink but still make it very warm and inviting for their guests. There will be lots of greenery and beautiful centerpieces with shimmering gold touches.

Wedding Planning Proposal

Posted By Diane Rogers, Sunday, September 16, 2018
Updated: Tuesday, September 25, 2018

Hi Lovegevity!

I am Diane Rogers, currently residing in Atlanta, Georgia. I am elated to be coming to a close in this course...not because I dreaded the course, but because I will have proven myself to be able to complete whatever I set out to!  And for me, sometimes I found it a challenge to complete major tasks that I would set out to do. Starting a project was always easy for me, but the challenge was staying the course of the race. For this I am most grateful for this course.

My mood board presented here is a snap shot of the inspirations used to create my proposal for my bride and groom.  This inspirations demonstrate vibrant worksheets, a welcome and thank you letter, a view of rental items offered as another part of the services offered here at Elaborate Expressions &Events. It includes a welcome gift kit, some EEE branded merchandise (mouse pad) amongst so much more! It provides a copy of the basic packages offered for their special event, marriage license requirements as well as a complete outline of everything that must be taken care of in order for their special day to go off without a hitch.

A great proposal is a Must Have when presenting your business to a potential client (s). Its your first impression you get to show your abilities to take their Special event to a higher level than expected. It's the first chance you get to demonstrate your organizational skills as well as a quick glimpse of how their event will turn out while in your care.

Enjoy!

Elaborate Expressions & Events Grand Opening...Partying with A Purpose!

Posted By Diane Rogers, Sunday, September 16, 2018
Updated: Sunday, September 16, 2018

Hi Fellow Planners & Professionals!

I am Diane Rogers coming in to share another fun post of my Grand Opening Mood Board.  Thus far this course has been such a delight. Its been the challenge I've been needing for some time now and although I've had just that, I must say that this journey has given me self gratification and a reminder that I can do anything I put my mind to!  This mood board presented doesn't do the actual assignment justice for the board was just not big enough to capture all the details that went into the actual project!

My mood board is entitled Elaborate Expressions & Events Grand Opening....Partying with A Purpose.  Our grand opening will be an event to remember. The Press Release and Invitations went out to the entire city of businesses and some local officials. The beautiful Magenta, Black and White color scheme will set the tone for the evening. So that we are easily recognized by our guests, the staff will be dressed in our vibrant branding colors of magenta with black and white as well.  There will be a variety of both light and heavy hors d'oeuvres, wines and champagnes  served to suit the pallets of all. There will be a live band, dancing, gifts and door prizes for registered newsletter entrants and donors to our Atlanta Mission cause. The guests will be able to mingle and walk the beautiful grounds of the venue filled with magenta cocktail tables, wine bars, food stations, and beautiful white lounge furniture all while networking making new connections and making their contributions to the cause.

There will be gifts, giveaways and lots of Elaborate Expressions & Events paraphernalia  on coffee mugs, t-shirts, key chains, tote bags, notepads to go around for everyone!

Take a peek!

Hello! My name is Mashelle. I am from New York City and adapted a niche for planning at an early age. Project 2 helped me understand the requirements for wedding planning. Before taking this course I had little to no interest in planning weddings but now I am more interested and excited about what is involved in wedding planning. My project gives a brief overview of the packages offered and why I decided to become an event planner.

Hello!!! My name is Mashelle and I choose to take this course with Lovegevity to gain more knowledge in this field I have grown to love. As a corporate America professional, event planning has become an outlet to express my creativity and love of helping people. I learned and received a lot of information and advice taking this course. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to start a business in Event/Wedding planning or anyone interested in receiving more info about event/wedding planning in general. Project 1 was fun yet stressful. I found so many great and beautiful ideas on Pinterest that I didn't know where to start or end. This project helped me to begin and continue thinking about how I would plan my next event, whether for myself, a family member or a potential paying client. There is so much detail involve in a well planned event. Enjoy my mood board attached!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Jannelle Gooding-Gibbs, Tuesday, August 7, 2018
Updated: Tuesday, August 7, 2018

My name is Jannelle Gooding-Gibbs and I am 27 years old. I am a proud mother of an entertaining, cunning 7 year old boy and a newly married gal. I grew up in a very cultural-driven West Indian household and spent my youth back and forth to a little tropical island called Grenada. My journey started when I got engaged in December of 2016, in the same tropical island of Grenada. I was, well still am, working a full time job as an office manager at a Ford dealership, when I was struck with the crazy idea to plan my whole wedding on my own. So for 15 months, I have worked tirelessly to plan, create and draw out this very peculiar perfect special event. I saw my vision and plans literally come to fruition on Monday, May 28th 2018. This was the beginning, the birth, when the light bulb went off to Jae Renee’ Event & Design.

Knowledge is power and I believe educating yourself on your passion is always a plus. In this field being hands-on and having the freedom to create our vision with guidelines, keeps us in check. I want to help execute the vision from the tiniest detail to the big picture. There’s nothing like seeing every single thought you’ve ever envisioned, come to life. That’s my mission!

Raj & Kesha met, 6 years ago on a flight to visit family, for the holidays, back in their home country Trinidad & Tobago. They’ve been inseparable ever since! Two years after their first meeting Raj popped the question. Kesha decided to spend the rest of her life with him at a celebrated with beautiful ceremony with close family and friends. Now they’re expecting a little bun and they couldn’t be more excited. They decided when celebrating their baby, they wanted to keep their Indian/Hindu roots alive and respect their parents in the process. Using bright bold traditional colors like gold, magenta, purples and reds are what we focused on.

LAUNCH PARTY FOR UP AND COMING HOUSTON WEDDING PLANNING COMPANY!

Karmen Johnson, certified wedding planner, and owner of With This Ring Weddings is hosting a launch party!  Karmen is a native Texan looking to connect with newly engaged couples, in the market for a planner, and wedding professionals, looking to meet others in the industry.  Come join the party and enjoy light bites, door prizes, a DJ and an opportunity to mingle!

Hello all!! I'd like to take this opportunity to say Project 3, was my most challenging feat.  As someone already in the industry, I must say, this project forced me to reevaluate my business model and decisions I've made thus far. I'm so glad I had the chance to make some updates and sharpen other aspects of the business.

This class has definitely been a great experience and I appreciate everything I've learned. Christy Lyons is an awesome instructor and I've enjoyed learning from her experiences in the industry. I'm so thankful for the LWPI course and I look forward to receiving my official certificate!

Hello everyone, my name is Abigail Robison. I am from Amarillo, Texas and am currently interning with a wedding designer here in town. Before I knew I wanted to be a wedding planner I had went to college for 3 years to become a nurse, but was never truly in love with it, and that is whenever I figured out that my true calling was wedding planning. My plans are to finish this course and continue on with my internship to learn all that I can so that one day I can start my own business. This project really challenged me, because I have never thought of trying to come up with a "fake" wedding, but plan it with real vendors from around town. I think that this project will really help me in the long run, because I now know almost every vendor and how to contact them if need be. In my project I created a wedding for a young couple who wanted to get married in a old modern warehouse and turn it into a garden. I did all light colors and really blended them into the warehouse feel. I had so much fun with this project and really wish that this was a real wedding that I could get to do.

Attire- For attire I chose a picture of a dress that I truly found beautiful, and some shoes, hair, and make-up to go along with it for the bride. For the bridesmaids I chose a light pink off the shoulder flowing dress that would look perfect with the garden theme. For the groom and groomsmen I chose a navy blue tux, pink bow tie, and brown dress shoes.

Accessories- That I didn't go into as much detail because it really depends on the bride, but I did choose some shoes that I thought were beautiful

Anticipation- I feel like I really was thorough with this subject. I have at least 3 pictures on every slide and went into detail on why I chose what

Arrival- I feel like I really was thorough with this subject. I have at least 3 pictures on every slide and went into detail on why I chose what

Atmosphere- I did completely different slides for what I thought would look best at the ceremony, and reception. I also did a slide for the flowers.

Appetite- I talked about who I would use for the catering and what type of food it would be

Amusement- I talked about a local cover band that I would use that is a lot of fun

Apprecation-  I feel like I really was thorough with this subject. I have at least 3 pictures on every slide and went into detail on why I chose what

Local Resources/Vendors- I only used local people in my project

Timeline- Yes I did a timeline and included a music score with it

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Sierra Ostergaard, Thursday, June 28, 2018

My name is Sierra Ostergaard and I currently live in Louisiana where my husband is stationed but was born and raised in Utah! I have many different career fields such as the medical and education fields and am excited to add arts & design into my dream career fields! Being an army wife allows me quite a bit of time to try new things and new career fields and wedding and event planning has always been one of my dream careers so here it goes!

For this mood board, I have created a summer country wedding. I kept it simple and elegant and added a splash of sunflower yellow to brighten up the celebrations! This theme includes a generous amount of lace, sunflowers, burlap and of course that lovely, romantic barn that thanks guests with a small jar of sweet honey on the way out!

Nuptials Fit For A King & Queen MOOD BOARD

Posted By Diane Rogers, Wednesday, June 27, 2018
Updated: Wednesday, June 27, 2018

Hi Beautiful Event Planners!

I am Diane Rogers, originally from Mississippi and now currently residing in Atlanta Georgia for the past 18 years.  I've worked for a large telecommunications company in customer service for the past 10 years.  My Goals as an events planner is to create unique and personalized events for each of my clients. I plan to later branch out into other areas of the industry to better serve my clients by providing them with an experience that resembles  a condensed one-stop shopping encounter and provide the business with another source of  revenue.  So far this course has been filled with a wealth of knowledge. As I was making my way thru the course, I quickly realized that this was the actual blueprint for which I needed to follow in order to start my business. This was a complete joy and a relief knowing that this course was actually covering relevant information to aid us all in being successful event planners and business owners! This mood board was so much fun and I must admit that if you're like myself, one who loves, breath and eat all things beautiful, you will have found yourself putting in hours in this one project. And this wasn't because it was difficult , but it was because I caught myself going back and forth with my choices of pictures as if I was preparing this for an actual couple!  I must say this in the beginning this was an intimidating assignment because technology isn't my strong suit, but with patience and perseverance I think I may have this one in the bag!

The mood board presented is titled "Nuptials fit for a King & Queen".  You will find that this couple Sarah and Steven has chosen to exchange their vows in a beautiful castle, having a day of elegance filled with hues of magenta, navy and touches of gold. The guests' expectations has been set since day one of receiving the "save-the-dates" followed by the beautiful tri-fold and satin covered invitations.  Upon their arrival they will be greeted with a nice refreshing signature cocktail to quench their thirst  as they anticipate whats to come!  The ceremony will take place in the gardens  as the band plays the soft sound of the strings. Later the reception will usher them into the castle in preparation for an over-the-top surf and turf dining experience. I would call this experience a "Classy and Elegant Night to Remember".  I hope this inspires you as much as it's inspired me.

Enjoy,

Diane

Blog Contribution 18.6 Assignment

Posted By Carmen Rosales, Monday, April 30, 2018

Hello everyone! My name is Carmen Rosales, I am from LA California. I have been working in the legal field for over 10 years and although I don't hate my job, I also don't love it.  I have always felt that I have so much creativity and I'm the first to jump in when it comes to planing any event or party.  I was so happy to find this course, and nowI am almost finished and hope to be a certified wedding and event planner, very shortly!

Through this course, I learned about the strong work ethic needed to be an event planner. I gained so much insight from the material and lectures provided by the instructors. The biggest takeaway for me was realizing what a huge network the wedding and event planning industry is, Im excited to jump in and start my own company.

My hope is to help couples realize the wedding/event of their dreams and to ease the stress of having to worry about throwing an epic party. My other passion in life is traveling (currently uploading from FIJI!!) So, I'd also like to explore joining my two passions and dabble into destination weddings.

Dream Team Productions is a firm believer in giving back to the communities in which it operates, and to this end supports a number of local charities, I'd like to help couples who are less fortunate as well as provide charity work , perhaps in helping plan events at local schools and/or church and community centers.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Carmen Rosales, Saturday, April 28, 2018

Hello All,

My name is Carmen Rosales. I was bored and raised in sunny Los Angeles, California. I am currently in the legal field. I have been working in a law firm for over 10 years and love it , but I do have a passion for planning and creating events.

I'm starting my event planning company alongside my twin sister, to honor our father, who loved all things business.  We strive to help couples and loved ones bring their wedding and event dreams to reality.   This course has been a breath of fires air and has seriously helped in learning that there re so many aspects to creating a magical event.

The project I have presented is a wedding of two loved ones.  I love anything monochromatic and glamorous. This mood board gave me the opportunity to re-create that vision on paper. This assignment has motivated me to create vision boards for my future clients to help them visualize and bring their dreams to reality.

Project #2 Sell your services

Posted By Marie Orta, Wednesday, April 18, 2018

Hello !

My name is Marie, I am 28 years old and I am from Norfolk, Virginia.

I realized while working on my project #2 that selling your services is not easy and can even be tricky ! It was a really good exercise and fun to put together. I learned that it is important to know your goals to be able to achieve them effectively and be successful. Being focused on the clients' satisfaction, projecting positivity and giving with enthusiasm are key values in the wedding industry.

CWEP - Project 1 Submission

Posted By Ghislaine van de Laarschot, Tuesday, April 10, 2018

My name is Ghislaine van de Laarschot. I am from an island in the Caribbean and I am graduating with an MBA in May. I decided I wanted to broaden my knowledge of event planning by getting certified. Not sure if I plan to be a full-time planner but want to be able to help out my clients when they rent my future venue.

This project was really helpful in knowing the basics of what all goes into planning a wedding. It was fun to try and think of what this couple looks like and making sure everything ties together in an overall style.

This is Project 1 and it is about Holly and Max who are getting married in a barn. The whole wedding is rustic/barn style but also with fall colors so bright orange, yellow, burgundy and cream. I really

LWPI CWEP 18.6 Assignment

Posted By Maggie Zeman (Yedinak), Tuesday, March 27, 2018

Hello Maggie Zeman from the Chicagoland area.  Currently, enrolled in the Certified Wedding and Event Planning, CWEP at Triton College, River Grove, IL.  I can't believe the amount of work this class has been.  I plan on back peddling through this information from this course to further digest, especially social media.  Have stayed clear of this due to not caring to share my information with the world.  I will work on a different mindset since I know this is important to growing my business.  I have enjoyed the people I have meet in the class and the instructor Desiree Dent.  She is wonderful and very forthcoming.

Looking forward to working on my business and making it successful since I like planning parties and trying new things.  To all LWPI students "Good Luck!".
