Project Three

Posted By Wanda Bryce, Monday, November 11, 2019

My name is Wanda Bryce and thankfully I am just a few weeks away from completing this course. I am so excited to see how I can use the skills I have learned from all theses assignments. This Project three in particular really challenged me to consider the actual day my business will officially launch and I appreciate that. By doing this assignment I had to really put my thinking cap on and think as two in one by playing two roles. I thought as a planner and thought as my ideal client looking to myself to create the perfect event. I had to do some research to solidify my plan and I ended up gaining new knowledge which I find very important in this industry. Overall, like most of the assignments, this project was incredibly time consuming but the feeling of ticking it off my 'TO DO' list as completed was worth it. I have one assignment left and can't wait to complete it as well. God luck to you all, happy wedding and event planning.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Nadia A. Ehia (Nadia Ali), Thursday, October 5, 2017

Hi everyone!

My name is Nadia Ehia and I live in Arlington, Texas. I am enrolled in the wedding & event planning college course at the University of Texas at Arlington. I'm also an alumni of the university- I graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Advertising degree. I currently work for an e-commerce/digital marketing agency as a Senior Analyst in Program Management. Although I love my job, I am ready to chase my dream and do something I am passionate about. I've been a natural planner since I was young and as I got older, friends and family began asking me for help in planning their events. Last year, I planned my own wedding and fell in love with the process. Since then, I've planned and coordinated four weddings. My plan is to launch my own wedding and event planning business upon completing this course.

The project that I am presenting is a cozy and intimate wedding in the mountains with a bohemian vibe. The couple preferred an intimate destination wedding surrounded by nature. The colors I chose are light and airy shades of blue and grey to enhance the natural colors of the mountains and trees. The ceremony and reception will take place outdoors. We will use florals, greenery, wood, candles and string lights to create the perfect, whimsical atmosphere. The venue is a private mountain lodge in Silverthorne, CO and sits on 40 acres of land. The lodge sleeps 20 so the couple along with their wedding party will stay in the house all week to celebrate. There will be a nearby hotel with a room block for additional guests.

Confidence Booster

Posted By Twala Lockhart, Saturday, August 5, 2017

Taking the Wedding and Event Planning Certification Course through Lovegevity has really been a confidence booster for me. I've always been afraid to share my dreams with people outside of my circle because I'm a very shy person. But this course has taught me that the keys to being successful as a Wedding and Event Planner is to promote myself, and that no one can promote my business for me.

I really want to transition to being a full time Planner and I hope to make this my second career. Therefore, I've taken a leap of faith and obtained my DBA and also had a logo created for my company. To garner interest in my company, I posted samples of my logo on Facebook and invited my friends and family to vote  on the one they liked the best. Now, you must know that I seldom post on Facebook and when I do, I hardly ever get comments or likes. But I received over one hundred responses to my posting and may well wishes. Someone even told me that they were proud of me for following through on my dreams. This really validated the literature in the text book that focuses on marketing and growing your business.

I plan to refer back to the text book often as I work on growing my business.

CWEP Project 1 B'z Buzzin Events

Posted By Rasheda L. Figgs, Wednesday, May 31, 2017
Updated: Thursday, June 1, 2017

Hello All! My name is Rasheda Figgs, most of my friends and family call me "B". That is where I got the name of by company. I am from Oakland, CA and yes I am a Warriors fan, if anyone is a sports fan. I have an associates degree in Liberal studies: social and behavioral sciences.

I have truly enjoyed working on project 1, I must say I had some challenges in the beginning with the mood board and canva, I work full time and im also a full tie student working on my bachelor's degree. I thought I may have bitten off more than I can chew with this course. (fingers are still crossed). However this course proved to me, that this business is what I would like to make my career.

My project is based on a city couple from the LA area, It will be a Summer/Fall wedding. I wanted to create a formal event using a typically rustic theme, and incorporating my love for honeybees. Most of the pictures I found of bee themed weddings were out doors, and had a more casual rustic theme, so i had to think out side of the box. It is an evening wedding Ceremony starting around 5PM.

My LWPI Experience

Posted By Melissa A. Talavera, Monday, April 24, 2017
Updated: Monday, April 24, 2017

My experience with Lovegevity's Wedding Planning Institute in Miami Dade College has been challenging however very intriguing and compelling.

Taking this course has motivated my passion for the industry even more than before I began the class. The chapters are exceedingly informative, as well as the podcasts that were in our curriculum. Jessica our instructor has been so kind, patient and also informative. I am very appreciative of Jessica sharing her knowledge with the class. This course has executed many different topics that are essential to successfully run your services and  business. From the A8 formula to learning about wedding etiquette and different cultures. Most importantly, being in this industry and as a planner to be, research will never end. One must always educate the customer by continuing to grow their knowledge in the market.

LWPI has been a significant learning experience and will follow through with my future business. Thank you for everything!
