CWEP PROJECT 2

Posted By Aurora Vergel, Sunday, November 4, 2018
Updated: Tuesday, November 20, 2018

Let me introduce myself to you first before I tell you about the services I offer.

Hi, My name is Aurora, I have been in this business for one year now, and enjoying every bit of it. There is nothing like finding the right job and loving it at the same time. Confucius long standing quote, “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” These words have been repeated throughout history, and still stand true in my life today.

My experience as an International Flight attendant for more than 10 years gave me an opportunity to witness weddings of friends and colleagues of different cultures. I knew from the start that I wanted to be in the wedding industry, and I have background in Culinary Arts. I have previous experience in baking and desserts for special events with a specialty in baking wedding and gourmet cakes.

I am currently studying to become a certified wedding and event planner. I believe that the knowledge I will gain will help me to become more effective and to be of better service to my client. My team and I will strive to meet the expectations of every couple.

Now that I have introduced myself , it’s time for me to let my clients know that their visions and dreams for a wedding is what we will deliver in reality. Brides must enjoy the wedding planning stage and allow the wedding planner to walk you through the whole process. My wish for you is to be happy and to enjoy every step of the way and not to be stressed out as much as possible. Let the wedding planner and our team of excellent staff do the works for you to make your dream wedding a reality.

CWEP- Project 1

Posted By Kelly B. Ducote (Parker), Tuesday, October 23, 2018
Updated: Tuesday, October 23, 2018

Hello! My name is Kelly Ducote & I live in Greenback, TN. I worked in banking for over 12 years and during that time planned many community events for the bank(s) I worked for. Within that time frame I found my calling & always wanted to pursue my dream job in becoming an event planner. I currently am an event coordinator for the company I work for. I plan anything from weddings, graduation parties, corporate events to baby showers & memorial services. My plan is to finish this course and start my own company.

My experience in the class has been very informational. Though some things I already knew, I am finding/learning new things every day! I enjoy hearing real life experiences from local event coordinators & vendors. Learning the finer details through this curriculum has helped me even in my current job with helping brides plan their weddings. I also learned the importance of having great relationships with vendors so that for future events we can work seamlessly together and create a wonderful experience for our client.

My inspiration for the wedding I planned for this project was an actual client of mine at my work who will be getting married this December. They are a very fun and loving couple who plan to have a huge wedding of 400 guest. So this has been the biggest wedding I have planned thus far. Though their wedding is in December the bride's favorite colors are gold and plush pink. Their vision is that their wedding will be very elegant with touches of gold & pink but still make it very warm and inviting for their guests. There will be lots of greenery and beautiful centerpieces with shimmering gold touches.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Margaret Smoak, Monday, October 1, 2018
Updated: Monday, October 1, 2018

My name is Margaret and I just began the CWEP course. I am very excited to begin my career in the wedding planning industry. I have always been drawn to the pageantry, gorgeous colors, and glamour of weddings and I am finally following that dream!

I loved doing this project because I was really able to study different aspects of the wedding planning industry and focus on the details of many styles of weddings. I learned that the smallest of details really can make a difference and, after looking at many, many (many) beautiful pictures, was able to recognize which wedding styles are compatible with one another. Having matching styles throughout the wedding is crucial and I feel that this Christmas Wedding for which I made my mood board, creates a good balance of formality and festivity.

My couple is planning a Christmas Wedding on December 22, 2019. They have been together for three years and chose a Christmas theme because that holiday is very important to them. Their dress code has been defined as "Semi-Formal/Festive" and their atmosphere is going to feel like a cozy holiday party. The couple's wedding will be held in the ballroom of a hotel with dimmed lights, a fireplace, and Christmas trees strung with lights set up throughout the room. They have chosen their own take on traditional Christmas colors using carmine red, emerald, green, and glitter gold.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Desha Anderson, Friday, September 28, 2018

Hi Everyone,

My name is Desha Anderson and I'm excited to share with you my 1st project in the CWEP course. I'm from Maryland and fairly new to the wedding planning industry although I love all things weddings. I have a background in conference planning so this course will definitely help me to marry the two together. Enough about me and on to the vision for this mood board project!

So the name of this project is "It's a Pink Affair!". The vision for this project is based on my cousin who loves to watch Hallmark movies because they are romantic and comical at times. While watching these movies she always say "ohhh I just love these movies and would do this or that if I get married again". In the spirit of hoping that one day she does, I've offered to have my company Let's Plan It, LLC to plan her wedding.

It will be a summer beach wedding taking place in Virginia Beach, VA at the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront. The ceremony will take place in the evening on the beach, timed to be able to capitalize on the sunset in the background of the photos. We will host the reception inside of the hotel in their oceanfront ballroom to give the guests a continued beach experience. The bride's chosen colors of hot pink, champagne and ivory is incorporated throughout the ceremony decorations, bridal party attire and reception. The bride wants a modern, sexy vibe for her attire so we chose a champagne colored lace dress with a front side slit and short train. She will accessorize with gold shoes and jewelry. She will carry a brooch bouquet styled with hot pink flowers and gold tone jewels. The bridal party will complement the bride with knee length hot pink dresses, gold accessories and ivory flowers. The groom and his groomsmen will wear champagne colored suits with ivory shirts, hot pink ties and boutonnieres.

The ceremony space will feature a wedding arch draped in hot pink chiffon cloth with ivory flowers and gold tone garland. Guests will be seated in rows of white wooden chairs as hot pink rose petals will be arranged in a pattern down the aisle for the brides procession to her groom. After the ceremony, the celebration will transition to the reception which will feature gold chivalri chairs, rectangle tables with champagne/gold tone textured linens decorated with hot pink napkins and centerpieces of orchids and floating tea light candles on mirrored plates. There will be gold tone cutlery to compliment the tablescape. The cake will be a simple but elegant 2-layered masterpiece of ivory brushed with gold. Everyone will dance the night away with the oceanfront as the backdrop under the pink mood lighting of the ballroom.

Now whose ready for their gold, textured invitation to this wedding of the year!

Hello!!! My name is Mashelle and I choose to take this course with Lovegevity to gain more knowledge in this field I have grown to love. As a corporate America professional, event planning has become an outlet to express my creativity and love of helping people. I learned and received a lot of information and advice taking this course. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to start a business in Event/Wedding planning or anyone interested in receiving more info about event/wedding planning in general. Project 1 was fun yet stressful. I found so many great and beautiful ideas on Pinterest that I didn't know where to start or end. This project helped me to begin and continue thinking about how I would plan my next event, whether for myself, a family member or a potential paying client. There is so much detail involve in a well planned event. Enjoy my mood board attached!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Jannelle Gooding-Gibbs, Tuesday, August 7, 2018
Updated: Tuesday, August 7, 2018

My name is Jannelle Gooding-Gibbs and I am 27 years old. I am a proud mother of an entertaining, cunning 7 year old boy and a newly married gal. I grew up in a very cultural-driven West Indian household and spent my youth back and forth to a little tropical island called Grenada. My journey started when I got engaged in December of 2016, in the same tropical island of Grenada. I was, well still am, working a full time job as an office manager at a Ford dealership, when I was struck with the crazy idea to plan my whole wedding on my own. So for 15 months, I have worked tirelessly to plan, create and draw out this very peculiar perfect special event. I saw my vision and plans literally come to fruition on Monday, May 28th 2018. This was the beginning, the birth, when the light bulb went off to Jae Renee’ Event & Design.

Knowledge is power and I believe educating yourself on your passion is always a plus. In this field being hands-on and having the freedom to create our vision with guidelines, keeps us in check. I want to help execute the vision from the tiniest detail to the big picture. There’s nothing like seeing every single thought you’ve ever envisioned, come to life. That’s my mission!

Raj & Kesha met, 6 years ago on a flight to visit family, for the holidays, back in their home country Trinidad & Tobago. They’ve been inseparable ever since! Two years after their first meeting Raj popped the question. Kesha decided to spend the rest of her life with him at a celebrated with beautiful ceremony with close family and friends. Now they’re expecting a little bun and they couldn’t be more excited. They decided when celebrating their baby, they wanted to keep their Indian/Hindu roots alive and respect their parents in the process. Using bright bold traditional colors like gold, magenta, purples and reds are what we focused on.

Hello everyone, my name is Abigail Robison. I am from Amarillo, Texas and am currently interning with a wedding designer here in town. Before I knew I wanted to be a wedding planner I had went to college for 3 years to become a nurse, but was never truly in love with it, and that is whenever I figured out that my true calling was wedding planning. My plans are to finish this course and continue on with my internship to learn all that I can so that one day I can start my own business. This project really challenged me, because I have never thought of trying to come up with a "fake" wedding, but plan it with real vendors from around town. I think that this project will really help me in the long run, because I now know almost every vendor and how to contact them if need be. In my project I created a wedding for a young couple who wanted to get married in a old modern warehouse and turn it into a garden. I did all light colors and really blended them into the warehouse feel. I had so much fun with this project and really wish that this was a real wedding that I could get to do.

Attire- For attire I chose a picture of a dress that I truly found beautiful, and some shoes, hair, and make-up to go along with it for the bride. For the bridesmaids I chose a light pink off the shoulder flowing dress that would look perfect with the garden theme. For the groom and groomsmen I chose a navy blue tux, pink bow tie, and brown dress shoes.

Accessories- That I didn't go into as much detail because it really depends on the bride, but I did choose some shoes that I thought were beautiful

Anticipation- I feel like I really was thorough with this subject. I have at least 3 pictures on every slide and went into detail on why I chose what

Arrival- I feel like I really was thorough with this subject. I have at least 3 pictures on every slide and went into detail on why I chose what

Atmosphere- I did completely different slides for what I thought would look best at the ceremony, and reception. I also did a slide for the flowers.

Appetite- I talked about who I would use for the catering and what type of food it would be

Amusement- I talked about a local cover band that I would use that is a lot of fun

Apprecation-  I feel like I really was thorough with this subject. I have at least 3 pictures on every slide and went into detail on why I chose what

Local Resources/Vendors- I only used local people in my project

Timeline- Yes I did a timeline and included a music score with it

CWEP PROJECT 1

Posted By Cindy Valerio, Wednesday, August 1, 2018
Updated: Wednesday, August 1, 2018

Hello Everyone!

My name is Cindy Valerio and I am from Southern California. It has always been my dream to create and design events professionally. I also enjoy getting to help other people bring their dream events come to life because it challenges me to push my ability to be more creative.

I decided to take this course because every time I organized events for my family and close friends, they would say I should do this professionally because I'm good at it. Of course I don’t really pay attention to what they are saying because they are my family, but it made sense now and I realize that we only live once. Only once! So we have to make most out of it or else regret it after life. Now here I am looking forward to learning a lot more.

My first example client wants an elegant high fashion, enchanted fairy tale forest themed. My bride to be will be wearing Elie Saab fall 2017 couture collection together with her bridesmaids with different couture styles. My groom to be will be wearing Versace fall 2014 couture collection together with his groomsmen but different fashion styles. Wedding cake will be from confectionary collection of Vera Wang x Laduree. And bride will arrived in a horse-drawn Cinderella carriage.

Thanks for your time looking at my work.

CWEP PROJECT 1

Posted By Janice Alphonso, Wednesday, July 25, 2018

My name is Janice Alphonso and I was born in Georgetown Guyana. I moved to the United States when I was five years old.  I presently  work as a Guidance Counselor and I love to work on beautiful events. My goal is to open a fabulous hall that is beautifully decorated in neutral palettes and can be transformed into any event that my clients envisions.  Thus far, this course has helped me to become more focused on my goal of becoming a fulltime event planner and designer.

The mood board is for a couple who met four years ago and are deeply in love, Candace is the director of a community organization and Ryan is an Engineer.  Candace is a true romantic whose favorite colors are pink and gold.  They both love food and Champagne and would like their guests to enjoy the evening through the five senses. Ryan said, “make Candace’s dreams come true”.

CWEP Project 3

Posted By Denisa Crisan, Friday, June 29, 2018

Denisa Crisan Events, the newest planning company in town, is ready to boost event planning across the area.

Denisa is a young fellow citizen, very passionate about planning, who just opened her own planning company here in our city.

As a graduate of Lovegevity’s Wedding Planning Institute program, she is a certified Wedding and Event Planner ready to work on delivering the events her clients dream about.

Working on this project has been such a journey, trying to define the perfect way to discover myself and my abilities in front of others through an ideal grand opening experience. Even though when I started it, I was picturing this event only trough my imaginary eyes, after it was done I was really proud to conclude that I would actually turn this project into reality as soon as I will open my business.

Overall, this wedding planning course it has been so motivational for me, giving me the push I needed to think about this career in a serious way, although Romania is still in need of being educated towards hiring an event planner.

The grand opening prototype is designed to be a lovely soirée, on a summer evening, in a nice restaurant with outdoor terrace, a fine selection of music, food and beverages.

My guests will be people from the industry like vendors, friends of mine, and of course everyone who has a bit of interest in this field. I will introduce myself to my guests, continuing with the explanation of the event planning concept and what activities does this job involve. Also, I am planning to bring one popular Romanian online influencer, who happens to be engaged, and ask her to talk about planning from her bride to be perspective.

The evening then will continue with a Q&A session, followed by individual chats with each guest, thanking everyone and answering any remaining questions. At the end, guests will receive a gift box containing a jar of candy with a thank you label on it, my business card, one brochure with my service description and 50% off coupon for the first consultation.

Cheers to this bright beginning!

Construction Junction Mood Board

Posted By Ashton Oates, Thursday, June 28, 2018

My name is Ashton Oates. I am from St. Louis, MO and I am a wife and mother of 3 goofy children! I have worked in the childcare industry for the past 12 years but recently made the jump to the event management world. My goals after the class are to grow my business and be abled to standout within the industry for A-Listed events across the board.

So far, within the course, I have learned how important it is to have a "tribe" and a connection with different vendors and your peers within the industry.  My mood board is a quick depiction of what a little boys ideal birthday party would look like if he would obsessed with construction. At this party all the activities and food are based around the construction theme. All the kiddos will be provided a safety vest to fit in for the day.

Blog Contribution 18.6 Assignment

Posted By Carmen Rosales, Monday, April 30, 2018

Hello everyone! My name is Carmen Rosales, I am from LA California. I have been working in the legal field for over 10 years and although I don't hate my job, I also don't love it.  I have always felt that I have so much creativity and I'm the first to jump in when it comes to planing any event or party.  I was so happy to find this course, and nowI am almost finished and hope to be a certified wedding and event planner, very shortly!

Through this course, I learned about the strong work ethic needed to be an event planner. I gained so much insight from the material and lectures provided by the instructors. The biggest takeaway for me was realizing what a huge network the wedding and event planning industry is, Im excited to jump in and start my own company.

My hope is to help couples realize the wedding/event of their dreams and to ease the stress of having to worry about throwing an epic party. My other passion in life is traveling (currently uploading from FIJI!!) So, I'd also like to explore joining my two passions and dabble into destination weddings.

Dream Team Productions is a firm believer in giving back to the communities in which it operates, and to this end supports a number of local charities, I'd like to help couples who are less fortunate as well as provide charity work , perhaps in helping plan events at local schools and/or church and community centers.

Hello All,

My name is Carmen Rosales. I was bored and raised in sunny Los Angeles, California. I am currently in the legal field. I have been working in a law firm for over 10 years and love it , but I do have a passion for planning and creating events.

I'm starting my event planning company alongside my twin sister, to honor our father, who loved all things business.  We strive to help couples and loved ones bring their wedding and event dreams to reality.   This course has been a breath of fires air and has seriously helped in learning that there re so many aspects to creating a magical event.

The project I have presented is a wedding of two loved ones.  I love anything monochromatic and glamorous. This mood board gave me the opportunity to re-create that vision on paper. This assignment has motivated me to create vision boards for my future clients to help them visualize and bring their dreams to reality.

18.3_Blog contribution

Posted By Marie Orta, Friday, April 27, 2018

My name is Marie and I am 28. I am originally from France but currently live in Norfolk, Virginia with my husband Orlando, who serves in the US Navy. I chose to become a wedding and event planner because even if it was not my first choice of career it has always been in the back of my mind and I have always had a taste for planning, organizing, weddings, creating, and interior design so it was obvious for me that all those skills used together would make me a good event planner.

After moving to the US in 2015 to be with my husband, I had to decide what to do for a living and event planning made perfect sense to me. Also, as a military wife, I know I could use my career anywhere in the world the military would possibly move our family. I soon will finally be a certified event and wedding planner and will be able to use my skills and help couples create their dream wedding.

Posted By Ghislaine van de Laarschot, Sunday, April 22, 2018

My name is Ghislaine, I am 25 years old and I am located in Boston, MA.

This assignment made me think long and hard about how I want to present myself to a client and how to not undervalue myself. Overall, I think I did a pretty good job in pricing with a little help from the online discussion about How to sell my services at value. As women we tend to undervalue ourselves when it comes to pricing/getting paid so this was a really great exercise. It was also good to organize everything into a cohesive document thats easy to read.

My name is Ghislaine van de Laarschot. I am from an island in the Caribbean and I am graduating with an MBA in May. I decided I wanted to broaden my knowledge of event planning by getting certified. Not sure if I plan to be a full-time planner but want to be able to help out my clients when they rent my future venue.

This project was really helpful in knowing the basics of what all goes into planning a wedding. It was fun to try and think of what this couple looks like and making sure everything ties together in an overall style.

This is Project 1 and it is about Holly and Max who are getting married in a barn. The whole wedding is rustic/barn style but also with fall colors so bright orange, yellow, burgundy and cream. I really

For this project I decided to wow the client with beautiful pictures of venue designs for different types of weddings and social events as well as capture the excitement and the vision of becoming a bride.  I wrote a letter to the client to express my appreciation for them viewing my site and considering me as their wedding/event planner.  I expressed my passion, experience and professionalism of my company in the About Us Page. I included packages but did not include pricing because I would like to get to know the client as well as their vision before I am able to quote fair pricing.  Their is a client profile submission form for them to submit to request a free consultation as they begin their wedding/event journey.  At the consultation the client will receive information on the Marriage Movement as C. Simone Events will offer a free Relationship Building Class to every couple that signs a contract on the day of the consultation.  They will also get a business cards, a brochure and a Bride, Groom, and Wedding Party Checklist.  Hopefully after they see all the details that a wedding/event entails, they will be eager to hire a wedding & event planner to give them peace of mind, quality vendor services, advice and keep everything organized for their most memorable event.  C.Simone Events would like to take them from Concept to Completion (my tag line).

LWPI CWEP 18.6 Assignment

Posted By Maggie Zeman (Yedinak), Tuesday, March 27, 2018

Hello Maggie Zeman from the Chicagoland area.  Currently, enrolled in the Certified Wedding and Event Planning, CWEP at Triton College, River Grove, IL.  I can't believe the amount of work this class has been.  I plan on back peddling through this information from this course to further digest, especially social media.  Have stayed clear of this due to not caring to share my information with the world.  I will work on a different mindset since I know this is important to growing my business.  I have enjoyed the people I have meet in the class and the instructor Desiree Dent.  She is wonderful and very forthcoming.

Looking forward to working on my business and making it successful since I like planning parties and trying new things.  To all LWPI students "Good Luck!".

Project 1

My name is Lauren Eshelman, and I live in Los Angeles California. I graduated college in May with a Bachelor’s in Fashion Merchandising and a minor in Marketing. After discovering that I didn’t enjoy the fashion industry, I decided to give wedding and event planning a try. So far I am enjoying the CWEP course. I find my instructor is very experienced and talented, and I’m excited to continue this course and learn more from her.

For my Project 1, I am planning a fall wedding taking place in September of 2020. The overall vibe of the wedding is classic, elegant, and fun. Decorations are heavily influenced by nature and include lots of florals. The color scheme is merlot, blush, cream, and beige. Personal details pertaining to the couple that will be included in the wedding are their love for their dogs, the outdoors, and wine!
