Grand Opening-CWEP Project 3

Posted By Joseph Barragan, Saturday, May 16, 2020
Hello everyone, my name is Joseph Barragan and I co-own Riverwood Designs, a wedding planning and floral design company in Gloucester Point, Virginia. We are thrilled to announce the grand opening of our new space next year. The event will showcase our planning and floral design skills in our newly renovated studio space in Gloucester. We have drawn from a variety of inspirations including the church bazaar episode of Downton Abbey, London street decorations during the Chelsea Flower Show, and mid-century cocktail parties. The event will have the classic, eclectic, garden-inspired feel that we are well-known for. Guests will include prospective clients, community members, and friends.
I didn’t expect to learn so many business strategies in addition to all the aspects of wedding and event planning.  I feel accomplished and know that the tools this course has provided me will ensure my success as a wedding and event planner.
I planned a grand opening in our new retail/workspace in a quaint building on Main St. To grab the attention of the engaged couples we are targeting, we are giving away a Grand Prize of floral designs and full wedding planning worth over $7,000. We will host a few of our select vendors so they can show off their talents or wares. We’ll have a live band, a couple of other giveaways, as well as at 50/50 raffle to benefit the non-profit art gallery down the street.

CWEP Project 3

Posted By Shirley Ward, Friday, April 12, 2019
Updated: Friday, April 19, 2019

I am Shirley Ward, owner of PRIVATE AFFAIRS, Wedding & Events. On June 6th from 7-9PM, Private Affairs is hosting its Grand Opening Launch Party at Verona Villa in Frisco.

I am a newly certified wedding and event planner through Lovegevity, but have planned over 150 highly successful events over the past 40 plus years. I have enjoyed taking my passion for planning and putting more form and structure to it through the CWEP course.

In addition to announcing its opening, Private Affairs has curated the event to walk engaged couples through the wedding planning process with experts in each field. Invitees will include newly engaged couples as well as local media outlets. At the event, newly engaged couples will be invited to attend and will receive tips and information from vendors who will help them navigate their wedding journey.

There will be a short presentation to welcome guests and introduce our company. Couples will receive information about the wedding planning process and introductions to the participating vendors. The main activities will be held on the outdoor patio where both contemporary and cozy lounge seating areas will be set up to give couples ideas for their own reception. The color palette will be in soft grey, blue and cream with pops of color. Décor will be tasteful and subtly elegant, to support the Private Affairs brand image.

Attendance is free of charge; however, raffle tickets will be sold for chances to win prizes donated by the host vendors. All proceeds from raffle sales will go to Lovepacs of Frisco to help children in need.

My Journey to becoming a Certified Wedding and Event Planner!

Posted By Angela Haralson, Tuesday, October 23, 2018

When I first ventured to become a CWEP I was so nervous…to say the least.  However, as the session progressed my class has been treating this experience as a joint effort.  We have cheered for  and encouraged each other.  Desiree Dent has just been the buttercream icing on top of our cupcake…lol…she has been sweet, consistent and welcoming!

This journey to certification has brought out many, many qualities in this group of dope women!

CWEP Project 3 Grand Opening

Posted By Shirley Trainor (Henry), Thursday, November 16, 2017

Project 3, Grand Opening was the easiest. I learned so much doing this project as well as the other. I am so happy that I learned how to do a slide show presentation, how to do a Press Release, and how easy it was to apply the A6?A8 formula into this project. Using Google slides was far better to use than Emaze. I had more options with Google Slides to getting this project done. I am looking forward to learning how to utilize Wix,since I will no longer be under any time constraints to learn  how to use these tools and trying to get the projects completed. It was with great ease that I was able to apply the A6/A8 formula to this project. I now know how to do a Grand Opening.

Blog Contribution - Student Experience

Posted By Nhora Martinez (Martinez), Monday, April 24, 2017
Updated: Monday, April 24, 2017

My overall experience with taking the Certified Wedding and Event Planning course with Lovegevity, has been very productive. Our instructor, Jessica Estrada was very generous, sharing her professional experience and her guide through hands-on experience, was extremely important. We felt the pressure of deadlines and the competitiveness of presenting (selling) our services. She gave us the opportunity to do a cultural wedding presentations in class. It proved to be very informative and creative.  I was impressed on how professional the presentations were after only a few weeks of class.

The “How to open your own business” material is very helpful and covers every single area. I am sure that everybody is well prepared to open their own business and write their own business plan, create their own marketing strategies and be successful in the event planning field.

The podcasts were another course by themselves, every mini-web seminar was very informative. I plan to listen to all of them!

All in all, this course is a great starting point for even planning, I think that continuous education is extremely important, but we all can do that through seminars and conventions.

Good luck to all everyone!
