CWEP Project 2

Posted By Linda Cao, Tuesday, March 31, 2020

Hi, my name is Linda Cao. My goal after this class is to have a better understanding about the wedding and event planning industry. And to have my own business at some point.

Project 2 is to create a formal package that include the contracts, services packages, and information that I will use to meet and present with clients. This project give me an opportunity to sit down and take some time to think about what I want to do for my business in the future and how I'm going to present it to customers. It also give me an idea of what I need to include in my contract.

Project 2 Selling Your Services

Posted By Judy A Woolfolk, Wednesday, March 25, 2020
Updated: Wednesday, April 1, 2020

Pure Bliss Weddings & Events is a partnership of 3 women of 3 different generations.  We each bring a different perspective and life experience to the business.

Kayla Looper is a young woman who understands the power of social media and networking.  She teaches high school English at Celina High School and is in constant contact with prospective brides and "the next new thing".  She got her first taste of wedding planning with her sister Kassi's wedding in 2015.  She loves teaching and working with young people but wants her own wedding & event planning business.

Lahoma Looper, Kayla's mom, has owned and operated successful businesses for over 30 years and has shared her business strategies with Kayla, giving Kayla a working knowledge of operating on budget and schedule.  Lahoma and her husband, Tim, have recently expanded their business to include home remodeling, thus adding another layer of experience to her resume.

Judy Woolfolk has been a business owner for over 30 years including  a floral design business and an insurance agency.  In that time markets have changed drastically and technology has expanded at lightning speed but taking care of the customer was the most important goal.

Pure Bliss is devoted to listening to a client's vision and fulfilling it.  We bring a vast amount of life experience and knowledge  that planning a successful wedding or event is very similar to operating a successful business. In order to operate a successful business, you must have a clear goal and a detailed plan to achieve that goal.  We know that we have the skills & experience to successfully make our client's day successful and unforgettable.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Kylie Gardner, Wednesday, March 11, 2020

Hello! My name is Kylie and I work for Graceful Events.

I didn't come up with the name for my company; but a close friend of mine named it after her daughter, Grace. We also decided that all of our actions should be done with grace, hence the title of the company. Our colors are pink, white and black - soft wedding colors that match a lot of different things. What we want our guests to experience is a combination of grace and professionalism, as well as the relief of knowing that their wedding or event is in good hands.

The journey for creating this brand identity came after years of working weddings and then also deciding to have kids. As I mentioned, a friend came up with the name and it stuck: representing grace and professionalism in the wedding world. A lot of our wedding planners have two job or are mothers, so it also represents grace in life as well.

We are targeting anyone getting married or having an event in the Lake Geneva/Milwaukee area. If they want someone to professionally plan their wedding or event, and are willing to pay for the best in the business, we are the company for them!

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Samatha Rice, Thursday, February 20, 2020

Forever Devoted Events is a wedding and event planning business in Oklahoma. I started this business for a career change and wanted to insert a new career filled with happiness. I came up with my brand based off of this fact. I work full time as an Emergency Room RN and realized I need more joy and happiness in my career in order to fully enjoy life for the short time I am here. My brand for Forever Devoted Events is in the name itself. I wanted a planning business that is here for the lifelong journeys of my clients. I want to help my clients plan not only their weddings, but also future baby showers, birthday parties or anniversary celebrations.

Forever Devoted Events has a Navy Blue background with peach lettering and design. My favorite color is any shade of blue and I already had the peach design throughout my website. I also chose the 2 birds over the clouds on both sides of the sun. I chose this design because I image the birds as 2 doves standing at the altar. I also personally love the stars and sky. I feel the birds above the clouds also represents my brand in the way that it symbolizes the two birds on top of the world, ready to conquer whatever comes their way together.

My journey for coming up with this brand took several weeks and multiple days playing with words and phrases. I went through a lot of logo designs and kept coming back to the one I have chosen. I discussed the name with my husband, and searched deep inside myself to figure out why I chose to go through with the career change. I have always strived for joy and adventure in my life and value my family and precious time.

My brand is targeting newly engaged couples, pregnant moms, or any event throwing female. As I said earlier I want to have a client for life, not just their wedding. I want my clients to see me and Forever Devoted Events as a friend to grow with through their life journey.

I have high hopes and dreams for Forever Devoted Events and am ready to start my happy journey!

CWEP Project 2

Updated: Monday, February 10, 2020

Based in the San Francisco/Bay Area (California), Manny's Event Designs is committed to quality and service. Living near the coast/ocean, I was inspired by the beach idea. The light blue, beige, and white colors makes up the simplicity and clean aesthetic of my brand. The soft nautical pastel colors communicates a cozy and easy-going style, which my clients can identify with.

Being the founder, I chose the name Manny's Event Designs. I also wanted a brand that represented California's coasts and beaches, which communicates a meaningful image to me and one that cultivates a positive emotion (i.e. stress-free, worry-free). This is what I want my clients to feel when they experience my services. With this idea/brand, I can easily translate and communicate this through my designs--logos, colors, stationery, office, attire, etc.

As mentioned, I want my clients to feel comfortable and relaxed when using my service. No matter the specific group or demographic I target, my brand hopefully conveys this feeling. However, the type of clients my brand hopes to target are those who are looking for an effortless and renewed experience in planning their wedding.

CWEP Project 2

Updated: Sunday, January 26, 2020

Maddy ́s Forever & Always Weddings was founded in January 2020 through a passion for love and individuality. It will be based in Portland, Oregon. However, since I am not planning on starting my business right away, this project was a little overwhelming and time-consuming. I believe that if you are ready to start your own business right after completing the certification, it is perfect because then you already have all your packages and materials for your business in order to start right away.

For this project I created an imaginary business called “Maddy´s Forever & Always Weddings”. The business focuses on uniqueness, since every person and every relationship have their own story to tell that should not be overlooked when planning an event. Maddy´s Forever & Always Weddings wants to be there for couples every step of the beginning of their love journey, starting with the proposal and ending with the honeymoon. In this project, I created a welcome package that can be given to new clients, including an introduction of who we are as a business, the packages we provide, client questionnaires to help plan the perfect event, a day-of service contract, local marriage license requirements, information on civil ceremonies, a wedding party checklist, and a list of preferred vendors.

I would have liked more instruction on how to write a contract, since I had never written one before and the textbook did not provide quite enough information. Even though the project was very time-consuming, I did enjoy creating a professional-looking package that could be used if I were to start my own business.

Project 2: Selling Your Services

Posted By Gabrielle Carter, Thursday, January 23, 2020

Carter Creations is an event planning company that specializes in party and event planning for social engagements, life celebrations, and corporate events such as birthday parties, baby showers, bridal showers, wedding proposals, and launch parties for businesses.

My mission is to provide quality service through unique and innovative design to event planning to help take the guess work and stress away from clients so they can spend more time making memorable moments.

I chose to focus more on social or corporate planning as that is where my passions lie. I am also in the developmental stages of branding and designing my own travel and travel accessories line (luggage and travel pieces) and have the opportunity to merge both careers together.

I find that the majority of event planning businesses put their focus on the wedding industry and I am here to cater to clients who want their baby shower or 50th birthday to feel just as unique and memorable as any grand event.

Hi I’m Lacey and I’m from Virginia. I currently work from home as well as be a mom to 2 kids. I am getting ready to launch my business, Sugarplum Fairy Events. While my company will mostly be focused on parties and other events I do offer planning packages for weddings as well.
This course has taught me so much. Even though I struggled with the technology part of the project I still managed to get it done. Now I can do things that I couldn’t before that will help me with the launch of my business and my career.
In this project is my basic plan for my company and the different packages I offer along with all the party themes people can choose from as well as create their own. My goal with this company is to make people happy and give back to others and show that with a little bit of magic anything is possible.

CWEP Project 2: Uniquely You

Posted By Yana Ong, Tuesday, November 26, 2019

Hi everyone,

My name is Yana Ong.
I'm on my last day of CWEP certification class. I'll miss my great instructor, Shamica, and my classmates. Although I might not seem to interact much with them, but we've got to know each other for more than 2 months now.}

It's a very insightful class. I've learnt so much more about wedding planning and wedding industry and what it would take for me to establish an event planning business.
This project specifically allowed me to really think what is my target market and how should I appeal my service business to them.

I'm naming my business "Uniquely You, Event Planning by Yana Ong", based on Frisco, TX. My target market is the Asian American community in DFW metroplex who wishes to display their cultures and heritage backgrounds into the modern American wedding.

I will definitely use the class online resources and watch the videos again and rethink of my marketing strategy & online marketing when it comes time to set up my real business plan.

Project 2: Selling your services

Posted By Lia Diogo, Wednesday, November 13, 2019

I am Lia Diogo.

For project two I made a presentation for a couple who approached me (my wedding and event planning company “Events by Lia”) to plan their wedding.
Their Christmas Eve wedding is close to my heart since my husband and I were married on December 24
th as well.

“Events by Lia” plans weddings, other social events like birthdays, baby showers and anniversaries as well as small corporate events.

Although still in the beginning stages I hope to gain more clients and to grow my business by being full of ideas, creative, honest and reliable.

For the time being I will focus on the local market in Westchester (by advertising in local newspapers and presenting myself at local events), but eventually I hope to service clients in the whole state of New York as well as Connecticut and New Jersey.

When I eventually move back to my home country, The Netherlands, I hope that I can set up a unique business with the experiences and knowledge I have from my time in the US and the courses I took at Lovegevity University.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Ashley Chastine, Sunday, October 20, 2019
Hello Everyone! My name is Ashley Chastine and I am the owner of Weddings by AKC. My inspiration I think would be a nice calming but professional atmosphere. My color scheme is more of pastels, such as coral, pinks, and blues. This project was a bit diffuclt for me since I am not planning to starting my own business anytime soon. I wanted something simple because I am from a small comunity and everyone knows everyone here. So I want that small town feel for my own business. I feel like the types of clients I would bring in would be more of a small town couple. I feel like I would attract more of the outdoors type of peopleand those are the wedding I think I would be best at.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Katie Sherrill, Thursday, October 17, 2019

Hello, My name is Katie and I am currently a stay at home mom of 2. We have talked about me taking this course for a few years now and finally decided now is the time. In my past life I worked for my church and planned ladies events and small gatherings. But for the most part, this is all new and a wonderful, and fun, learning experience.

My project 2 is based on the actual venue I will be working at and realistic pricing that I will be using to build my business. I have a very unique situation as I will be going straight into a brand new venue, not working out on my own. It is a wonderful opportunity that I am very excited about!

CWEP Project 2 Mood Board

Posted By Sarah L. Hunt, Tuesday, October 15, 2019

Hi Everyone,

My name is Sarah Lee Hunt and I am the founder of Souit Moments! Souit Moments is french inspired since I am mostly french, and I plan to provide exceptional wedding and event planning and design services throughout Stowe, Vermont, NYC, and Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Souit Moments plans to provide luxurious wedding and event planning and design services to clients who plan to spend an extravagant amount to create their most eye catching memorable events! Souit Moments color scheme is reds, golds, blacks, with a centerpiece rose as a memorable logo! I wanted Souit Moments to create an immediate emotional response of luxury and intimacy!

The creation of Souit Moments took a while to really narrow down the color choices because I was torn between a sweet and simple elegant look such as light pinks, dark pinks, and gold with champagne bubbles or a more sweeter striking appearance of dark pink and gold. However I am very excited and pleased with the decision to locate the color scheme, logo, and brand around rose red, blacks, golds, and white wordings! Souit Moments will start off locally in Stowe, Vermont, NYC, and Montreal and then branch out more internationally.

Within a year Souit Moments plans to provide additional services and provide Luxury Floral Designs to clients who wish to create unique, eye catching, extravagant designs for any Occassion and event. Within five years Souit Moments plans to operate out of NYC with a large plaza venue for weddings and events, continue to offer Luxurious Floral Designs and within ten years Souit Moments hopes to be recognized in many magazines, blogs, and make personally memorable experiences with clients!

Thank you for reading about the start of my very passionate Wedding and Event Planning and Design Business,

Sarah Lee

CWEP project #2

Posted By Wendy B. Kent (Chadwick), Tuesday, October 15, 2019
Hello, my name is Wendy Kent. I enjoyed this project, in that I am able to now, narrow down what I wish to do with my planning certificate. After giving thought to the future of my business, I wish to follow the path I laid out, after diving into this project. I currently have a resale bridal gown business, as well as rental décor. The intent is to grow this business into including a venue, in two years. This project helped me map out what I wish to include in the venue portion of the future business. I will enjoy growing and learning about my current business and developing the groundwork for the future venue with overnight capabilities.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Kendra Dougherty, Tuesday, October 15, 2019

Hello All! My Name is Kennah Buckaloo and I live in Prosper, Texas. I am currently working at an asset tracking company and do the help-desk and help manage the website. Aside from my current occupation I help create websites as a part-time job.

After helping my best friends plan their weddings, I became interested in event planning. This course has been a huge help in better understanding everything that goes into planning an event. It has also helped on the backside with better understanding how to run a business.

My overall goal is to own my own event venue. After planning my own wedding and working with others to help plan theirs, I realized how hard it is to plan an event while working full-time. But one of the hardest parts is coordinating all the little details.

Which leads me into the goals! Within the next year I would love to be doing weddings at least part-time. From here I would like to branch out and own a B&B with a smaller area to have events, within the next 2-3 years. After this my husband and I would like to own several B&Bs over the next 5-7 years before investing in our own event venue at the 10-15 year mark.

Each B&B will be personalized depending on the history of the area and the events that happen there ( these B&B will be all over the US!) For our Venue we would like to own a larger plot of land (50+) and have three separate venues: One for smaller events ( under 50 people), a middle-man that can house up to 150-200 people, and a larger one that can have up to 500 guests at one time. Each venue will have their own kitchen, indoor area, and outdoor area, as well as its own supplies (tables, chairs, linens, etc).

We do not want to specialize in just one type of event, we want to be able to host engagement parties, bridal/couple showers, weddings, birthday parties, anniversaries, Proms, etc. We would like someone to be able to come up to us and say, “Here’s my event. What are you able to do?” and we will give them an answer!

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Jennifer Ruth Carlson, Monday, October 14, 2019

Hi everyone,

My name is Jennifer Carlson, and I live in McKinney, TX.  I am planning to specialize in quinceaneras.  I currently work full-time in supply chain management and enjoy organizing and process improvement.

This course has really been eye-opening for me.  I've gotten so many good tips and info through the reading and my instructor.  I got interested in this after I planned my wedding this spring.

My project is focused on planning quinceaneras with a mid to low range budget.  I'm also interested in doing day of coordination.  As my business grows, I'd like to include animal rentals as an extra service (ex. llamas, longhorns, baby goats, etc.).
