Project 2

Posted By Allison E. Shragal, Saturday, October 19, 2019

HI There,

My name is Allie and this is my project 2.

Red’s events is a Wedding and event planning company open to all types of events.
Allie Shragal is the owner and creator or all things Red’s events. She has a passion for
bringing joy into people's lives and what better way to do that then making beautiful
event dreams come to life?

My first year goal is to gain more experience with event planning and being able to
create a wide range of different events. While establishing my company and working on
marketing to get the name out there. My five year goal would be working for this
company full time and traveling around the world for different events and or speaking at
different events about the industry. My ten year goal would be having a team of
professional CWEP and travel agents to honeymoons or vacations for clients. While I
am established enough to pick and choose what events I want to get involved in.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Katie Sherrill, Thursday, October 17, 2019

Hello, My name is Katie and I am currently a stay at home mom of 2. We have talked about me taking this course for a few years now and finally decided now is the time. In my past life I worked for my church and planned ladies events and small gatherings. But for the most part, this is all new and a wonderful, and fun, learning experience.

My project 2 is based on the actual venue I will be working at and realistic pricing that I will be using to build my business. I have a very unique situation as I will be going straight into a brand new venue, not working out on my own. It is a wonderful opportunity that I am very excited about!

CWEP Project 2 Mood Board

Posted By Sarah L. Hunt, Tuesday, October 15, 2019

Hi Everyone,

My name is Sarah Lee Hunt and I am the founder of Souit Moments! Souit Moments is french inspired since I am mostly french, and I plan to provide exceptional wedding and event planning and design services throughout Stowe, Vermont, NYC, and Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Souit Moments plans to provide luxurious wedding and event planning and design services to clients who plan to spend an extravagant amount to create their most eye catching memorable events! Souit Moments color scheme is reds, golds, blacks, with a centerpiece rose as a memorable logo! I wanted Souit Moments to create an immediate emotional response of luxury and intimacy!

The creation of Souit Moments took a while to really narrow down the color choices because I was torn between a sweet and simple elegant look such as light pinks, dark pinks, and gold with champagne bubbles or a more sweeter striking appearance of dark pink and gold. However I am very excited and pleased with the decision to locate the color scheme, logo, and brand around rose red, blacks, golds, and white wordings! Souit Moments will start off locally in Stowe, Vermont, NYC, and Montreal and then branch out more internationally.

Within a year Souit Moments plans to provide additional services and provide Luxury Floral Designs to clients who wish to create unique, eye catching, extravagant designs for any Occassion and event. Within five years Souit Moments plans to operate out of NYC with a large plaza venue for weddings and events, continue to offer Luxurious Floral Designs and within ten years Souit Moments hopes to be recognized in many magazines, blogs, and make personally memorable experiences with clients!

Thank you for reading about the start of my very passionate Wedding and Event Planning and Design Business,

Sarah Lee

CWEP project #2

Posted By Wendy B. Kent (Chadwick), Tuesday, October 15, 2019
Hello, my name is Wendy Kent. I enjoyed this project, in that I am able to now, narrow down what I wish to do with my planning certificate. After giving thought to the future of my business, I wish to follow the path I laid out, after diving into this project. I currently have a resale bridal gown business, as well as rental décor. The intent is to grow this business into including a venue, in two years. This project helped me map out what I wish to include in the venue portion of the future business. I will enjoy growing and learning about my current business and developing the groundwork for the future venue with overnight capabilities.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Kendra Dougherty, Tuesday, October 15, 2019

Hello All! My Name is Kennah Buckaloo and I live in Prosper, Texas. I am currently working at an asset tracking company and do the help-desk and help manage the website. Aside from my current occupation I help create websites as a part-time job.

After helping my best friends plan their weddings, I became interested in event planning. This course has been a huge help in better understanding everything that goes into planning an event. It has also helped on the backside with better understanding how to run a business.

My overall goal is to own my own event venue. After planning my own wedding and working with others to help plan theirs, I realized how hard it is to plan an event while working full-time. But one of the hardest parts is coordinating all the little details.

Which leads me into the goals! Within the next year I would love to be doing weddings at least part-time. From here I would like to branch out and own a B&B with a smaller area to have events, within the next 2-3 years. After this my husband and I would like to own several B&Bs over the next 5-7 years before investing in our own event venue at the 10-15 year mark.

Each B&B will be personalized depending on the history of the area and the events that happen there ( these B&B will be all over the US!) For our Venue we would like to own a larger plot of land (50+) and have three separate venues: One for smaller events ( under 50 people), a middle-man that can house up to 150-200 people, and a larger one that can have up to 500 guests at one time. Each venue will have their own kitchen, indoor area, and outdoor area, as well as its own supplies (tables, chairs, linens, etc).

We do not want to specialize in just one type of event, we want to be able to host engagement parties, bridal/couple showers, weddings, birthday parties, anniversaries, Proms, etc. We would like someone to be able to come up to us and say, “Here’s my event. What are you able to do?” and we will give them an answer!

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Jennifer Ruth Carlson, Monday, October 14, 2019

Hi everyone,

My name is Jennifer Carlson, and I live in McKinney, TX.  I am planning to specialize in quinceaneras.  I currently work full-time in supply chain management and enjoy organizing and process improvement.

This course has really been eye-opening for me.  I've gotten so many good tips and info through the reading and my instructor.  I got interested in this after I planned my wedding this spring.

My project is focused on planning quinceaneras with a mid to low range budget.  I'm also interested in doing day of coordination.  As my business grows, I'd like to include animal rentals as an extra service (ex. llamas, longhorns, baby goats, etc.).

CWEP Project 2: Lillie Jane Designs

Posted By Sabrina Lee, Sunday, September 22, 2019

Lillie Jane Designs, or LJD, is a small business in Houston, TX aimed at providing convenience and organization at an affordable price. LJD’s mission is to coordinate events that satisfy the client’s vision, reduce planning-related stress, and exceed expectations, all within the client’s budget. Planning any size event is a full-time job; LJD strives to eliminate the daunting stress and time commitment of planning such event for every client.

I'm the owner and sole Event Planner and Designer at the moment, with some hands-on assistance from my mother, Dee, when needed. The company name is derived from my great-grandmother's name, Lillie Jane. Following my love for all-things-purple, the LJD calm but classy vibe is decorated in shades of lavender, plum, periwinkle, and ocean grey. Although the brand and company are built around my southern TX family, our vibes are more modern than rustic. I wanted to create an atmosphere based on trust, honesty, and loyalty, values all shared by family. And that's my goal: allowing my clients to feel apart of my family, ensuring that they can trust my judgement and guidance in planning their dream day. My second (but equally important goal) is to show brides and grooms that your beautiful, dream wedding does not have to come at the cost of living in debt for the next 10 years. I focus on research and vendor relationships to provide clients with the most affordable prices for all of their wedding needs.

I market towards the newly engaged couple that wants their family and themselves to enjoy a perfect day, even though they may be on a tight budget. This market usually includes two working adults, likely millennials, who are paying for their wedding on their own, or with limited help from their parents and family. I stray away from the dramatic type more focused on having the shiniest, most extravagant wedding than sticking to a budget. There is plenty of opportunity in Houston to work with well known or infamous clients, bridezillas who demand an unrealistic perfection, or couples with an endless amount of funds, but I don't see those demographics as the clientele that actually needs my help.

Project 2: Selling your Services

Posted By Anna- Lisa Carreira, Monday, September 16, 2019
Updated: Monday, September 16, 2019

Hello! Toasted Affairs was started in 2019 by me, Anna Taylor. I fell in love with wedding planning while planning my own wedding. I have always been an artist with a passion for design, photography, florals, painting, etc. so the wedding industry is my ideal environment!

I have always been a planner and helped multiple friends plan weddings and create decor for their special events. My artistic background has also led to a design eye and I love creating decor for events. I also love setting up tables and adding that perfect touch to each space. Project 2 helped me see that I can add additional services such as event rentals and decor creation to my wedding planning services.

My ideal clients love neutrals, but also pops of color! I believe the best decorations are flowers and the more the merrier. I am always drawn to the "bohemian" bride who isn't afraid of creating her own trends and having personal, modern touches. Each couple is special and unique, so I believe their big day should be too.

CWEP PROJECT 2

Posted By Patrice Nicholson-Wolfe, Thursday, August 15, 2019

My name is Patrice Nicholson-Wolfe I currently work for the New York City Police Department.  My goal is to become an event planner, build a name for myself and prayerfully at some point own my own rental space.  While doing project 2 it made me think about the different services planners should offer, which are needed more then other and what I need to do that will make me stand out from the rest.  This project also made me realize how much planners are needed for guidance.  Whoever thought one would just know they needed to get a license just to get married.

The project  I'm presenting shows packages I would offer as a planner, list of duties for the entire wedding party, sample contracts and marriage license requirements.  My project outlines how I would like to start up my business and what I expect for myself as an ending result.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Nodette Mitchell, Wednesday, August 14, 2019
I must say project 2 has definitely given me an insight on how much thought needs to put in when starting an event planning business. This assignment has made me think of things that did not come to mind. Understanding that knowing and selling all the details to your potential client may or may not get you booked. This was quite informative for me and I certainly enjoyed doing this project.

CWEP Project One

Posted By Shelley Mitchell, Sunday, August 11, 2019

Shelley Mitchell here, Founder and Creative Director of BOLD Impact Events & Wedding Planners.  I've been a business coach for many years and helped small business owners start and grow their businesses to 6 figures while focusing on the right things.  We teach them how to speak and put on events such as book launches, conferences, trainings, seminars and more to promote and build their business.

It wasn't until recently that I offered to help a friend with their wedding and I got engaged that I fell in love with WEDDINGS and wedding planning.  In April, we shifted to focus on Wedding Planning and building a full service planning company for professional couples who are smart, educated, professional and are planning and financing all or the majority of their wedding.  It's not that they can't do, it's just that they don't have the time to do it and look to us to do it all.

Our goal is for me to do 26 wedding per year personally and to continue hiring/contracted planners in other states to work with us to grow our business, grow their business and build a national brand by doing a minimum of 50-70 weddings per year.

I just started Project 1 and while I've created a couple of mood boards, this project made me realize how easy it really is.  I also didn't understand how to post a pin (only share)

While our focus is weddings, I was hired to put on a 60th birthday party for a clients mother at a high-end seafood restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale Florida.  With 40 guests, we plan to use all gold and black decor for a classy, elegant, and fun theme.

Project 2 - Ohayon Wedding Designs

Posted By Naomi Ohayon, Monday, July 15, 2019

Hi,

My name is Naomi. For this project I came up with the company Ohayon Wedding Designs. I am located in Toronto, ON, where I will be based.

I grew up in a Jewish home with many different cultural backgrounds; Israeli, Moroccan and Polish, so I have vast knowledge of the Jewish and cultural religion. I am also an ally of the LGBTQ+ community. I wanted my company to reflect these two aspects as they mean so dearly to me, that is why my company will focus on Jewish, LGBTQ+ and Interfaith Weddings.

I went with a clean and simple logo with the colour purple. Purple is my favourite colour, it is also the most powerful wavelength of the rainbow, and it was really rare to find in nature. It symbolizes magic, spirituality and creativity. In recent years within many of the western cultures it also symbolizes the gay community. It strongly represents the vision I have for my company and all that it stands for.

My mission for Ohayon Wedding Designs is that everyone deserves and has the right to get married, no matter their race, religion, sexual orientation or gender identity.  Love is love, and that should be celebrated.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Mary Eileen Zamor, Wednesday, July 10, 2019

My name is Mary Eileen. The name of my business is Touché Wedding & Event Planning. I chose the word Touché to represent planning that is clever and astonishing for all to see. Touché  is masked with elegance, chic, grace, richness, luxurious and class. Clients will be excited to be surrounded by such an elegant vibe. It’s main color is magenta coupled with mint green.

The brand idea derived from my experience in wedding and event planning. Majority of the clients I've worked with thrived for elegance and a luxurious event. The word Touché has a nice ring to it that automatically makes one think ‘clever’.

My brand targets anyone seeking an event that depicts elegance, chic, grace, richness, luxurious and class. Many think this taste is expensive however it can be accomplished for a DIY or money conscious bride. I’m here to help them achieve that cost with their budget.
