CWEP- Project 1

Hello! My name is Kelly Ducote & I live in Greenback, TN. I worked in banking for over 12 years and during that time planned many community events for the bank(s) I worked for. Within that time frame I found my calling & always wanted to pursue my dream job in becoming an event planner. I currently am an event coordinator for the company I work for. I plan anything from weddings, graduation parties, corporate events to baby showers & memorial services. My plan is to finish this course and start my own company.

My experience in the class has been very informational. Though some things I already knew, I am finding/learning new things every day! I enjoy hearing real life experiences from local event coordinators & vendors. Learning the finer details through this curriculum has helped me even in my current job with helping brides plan their weddings. I also learned the importance of having great relationships with vendors so that for future events we can work seamlessly together and create a wonderful experience for our client.

My inspiration for the wedding I planned for this project was an actual client of mine at my work who will be getting married this December. They are a very fun and loving couple who plan to have a huge wedding of 400 guest. So this has been the biggest wedding I have planned thus far. Though their wedding is in December the bride's favorite colors are gold and plush pink. Their vision is that their wedding will be very elegant with touches of gold & pink but still make it very warm and inviting for their guests. There will be lots of greenery and beautiful centerpieces with shimmering gold touches.

Project #1 Planning An Event

Posted By Aureliah Persaud, Sunday, January 1, 2017
Updated: Sunday, January 1, 2017

Project #1, I think this Assignment will help me in the long run, it gave me an idea of how to plan my first event using the A6/A8's, music timeline and choosing my vendors. It was difficult at first realizing how much time and effort goes into building an event. After I figured out my theme, the project became easy and everything fill into place. I am super happy with my final product!

CWEP Project 1 Plan a social event or wedding

Posted By Denise Racey, Friday, April 22, 2016

I enjoyed putting this project together.  It was challenging in the aspect of having numerous research material to draw upon and compliment your ideas as well as those of your clients. The project definitely made you wear your creative thinking hat!!  This was an excellent experience you can put to use when you are planning an event for a business client. All in all this was a great project and will be useful in your "real" business  or place of employment.

THIS IS A RESUBMIT WITH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ACCORDING TO THE INSTRUCTIONS
