CWEP Project 1

Posted By LaKendra Dickerson, Friday, March 8, 2019

Hello! My name is LaKendra, I live in the DFW area. I am currently a registered nurse, that has developed a love of coordinating, planning, and decorating for all types of events. I would love to do become a wedding and event planner because of the joy that people experience when they see their dream event come to life. This course has taught me so much. I am loving every moment of learning. This project has taught me how to plan an event, from working with vendors, establishing a timeline for events, and all of the small details that go in to event planning.

Bryson and Shara are a match made couple through a mutual friend. Both are adventurous, fun loving people. They were engaged on thanksgiving and set their wedding for April 27, 2019. They have decided to have a "Spring at the Farm" themed wedding. The colors will be yellow and turquoise. Sunflowers are her favorite and turquoise reminds him of the weather vane from the farm. Adding tan and rope inspires the rustic feel for their event.

CWEP Project 1

Updated: Sunday, September 30, 2018

Although I have always enjoyed wedding planning and developing details for special events, the awesome experience of planning my daughter’s wedding last year gave me a sense of fulfillment. It also gave me the courage to pursue event planning as a career and to pursue my passion. The most important thing is that I have found what I love to do. It is a joy to be a part of the beginning stages of an event, to organize and design a concept, and to be a part of a special day filled with love. I look forward to helping other couples experience a happy wedding filled with loving memories.

My mood board presents a fall wedding that is scheduled in the month of October of 2018. The bride and groom wanted a formal and upscale wedding with a color scheme of light pink, white, and gold. The couple decided to book their wedding in a luxurious hotel because they liked the sophisticated style and romantic feel.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Sierra Ostergaard, Thursday, June 28, 2018

My name is Sierra Ostergaard and I currently live in Louisiana where my husband is stationed but was born and raised in Utah! I have many different career fields such as the medical and education fields and am excited to add arts & design into my dream career fields! Being an army wife allows me quite a bit of time to try new things and new career fields and wedding and event planning has always been one of my dream careers so here it goes!

For this mood board, I have created a summer country wedding. I kept it simple and elegant and added a splash of sunflower yellow to brighten up the celebrations! This theme includes a generous amount of lace, sunflowers, burlap and of course that lovely, romantic barn that thanks guests with a small jar of sweet honey on the way out!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Carmen Rosales, Saturday, April 28, 2018

Hello All,

My name is Carmen Rosales. I was bored and raised in sunny Los Angeles, California. I am currently in the legal field. I have been working in a law firm for over 10 years and love it , but I do have a passion for planning and creating events.

I'm starting my event planning company alongside my twin sister, to honor our father, who loved all things business.  We strive to help couples and loved ones bring their wedding and event dreams to reality.   This course has been a breath of fires air and has seriously helped in learning that there re so many aspects to creating a magical event.

The project I have presented is a wedding of two loved ones.  I love anything monochromatic and glamorous. This mood board gave me the opportunity to re-create that vision on paper. This assignment has motivated me to create vision boards for my future clients to help them visualize and bring their dreams to reality.

My name is Lauren Eshelman, and I live in Los Angeles California. I graduated college in May with a Bachelor’s in Fashion Merchandising and a minor in Marketing. After discovering that I didn’t enjoy the fashion industry, I decided to give wedding and event planning a try. So far I am enjoying the CWEP course. I find my instructor is very experienced and talented, and I’m excited to continue this course and learn more from her.

For my Project 1, I am planning a fall wedding taking place in September of 2020. The overall vibe of the wedding is classic, elegant, and fun. Decorations are heavily influenced by nature and include lots of florals. The color scheme is merlot, blush, cream, and beige. Personal details pertaining to the couple that will be included in the wedding are their love for their dogs, the outdoors, and wine!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Madison Brown, Friday, February 23, 2018

For this first project, I chose to center it around an impending vow renewal. the time the event will take place is 7pm in late October. There is a chance it will be chilly, but that will help set the cozy mood since the couple would like to have it outside.

There will be a dance floor with string lights all over the backyard. A small, intimate ceremony with children to grown adults to celebrate life and love on a fall evening. There will be a full meal served after the ceremony and dancing to follow. The guests are all friends or close family, so it keeps the mood light and happy for the couple and family!

flowers will be simple, greenery and babies breath and white roses for the bride bouquet. the colors are white, greenery, and gold tones -  twinkle lights everywhere with a photo area for guests to have fun with and sign the guest book as well.

The total budget for the event is $800 including catering and all vendors.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Nadia A. Ehia (Nadia Ali), Thursday, October 5, 2017

Hi everyone!

My name is Nadia Ehia and I live in Arlington, Texas. I am enrolled in the wedding & event planning college course at the University of Texas at Arlington. I'm also an alumni of the university- I graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Advertising degree. I currently work for an e-commerce/digital marketing agency as a Senior Analyst in Program Management. Although I love my job, I am ready to chase my dream and do something I am passionate about. I've been a natural planner since I was young and as I got older, friends and family began asking me for help in planning their events. Last year, I planned my own wedding and fell in love with the process. Since then, I've planned and coordinated four weddings. My plan is to launch my own wedding and event planning business upon completing this course.

The project that I am presenting is a cozy and intimate wedding in the mountains with a bohemian vibe. The couple preferred an intimate destination wedding surrounded by nature. The colors I chose are light and airy shades of blue and grey to enhance the natural colors of the mountains and trees. The ceremony and reception will take place outdoors. We will use florals, greenery, wood, candles and string lights to create the perfect, whimsical atmosphere. The venue is a private mountain lodge in Silverthorne, CO and sits on 40 acres of land. The lodge sleeps 20 so the couple along with their wedding party will stay in the house all week to celebrate. There will be a nearby hotel with a room block for additional guests.

Hello Everyone!

My name is LaDonna, I am a Washington, DC native and remain in the DMV area. I have been a Substance Abuse Counselor for nearly 20 years. I have coordinated events and weddings for the past 10 years. It has mostly been a hobby and my clients have been getting the best deal around because of my enjoyment. I really do love planning for events and a find a sense of peace in being creative. My goal is to establish a successful and client oriented business as a Certified Wedding/ Event Planner. What started as a hobby is becoming my dream come true!

Having planned events in the past prepared me for this project. I had a great time exploring and reading articles as it relates to Project 1.

My Project is a Wedding for a couple that met while in college. They both expressed importance of uniqueness. They are having a Fall, relatively small, early evening wedding at a mansion.  The couple plans to honeymoon in Cuba!

Hello everyone! My name is Abbigail Gass and I am from a small town in Oklahoma. Before this I was going to a community college and I had no clue what I wanted to be or do. So one day I did some soul searching and researching and found Lovegevity! I think that I have finally found my calling and something that I can be good at! My plans now are to first establish my self as a wedding and event planner and hopefully have a small boutique of my own to sell my handmade jewelry! And maybe even have my own venues for my events and weddings and take some photography classes. I'd really like to make that a family business and get my sisters and mother involed! That'd be so much fun! I learned a lot o f cool things from this project! It was super fun making and I defiantly underestimated how much time this would take to put this all together! All in all I love this program and what it has to offer! I am so glad I found Lovegevity!

I am submitting the finished wedding plan for project 1. I planned Kate & Ryan’s September wedding in 2018. They both work in the arts and dreamt of an old Hollywood art deco theme. Due to Kate and Ryan's love for the arts, I chose to put a modern twist on the old Hollywood glam look and feel with a hint of sparkle, simple flowers and elegant lighting. I enjoyed all the hard work that went into this first project. I loved that I could build out the tiniest of details and big ideas for so plan parts of the wedding day. Now that I have this experience I feel that I can apply the A8 so easily! I love that I have this advantage and have a great case study for clients!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Brandy July, Thursday, February 23, 2017

Attached is my CWEP Assignment 1.3.  I definitely enjoyed learning to use Canva.  I know I will be using it for other projects in the future!

My favorite color is purple so I couldn't help choosing it as one of my color inspirations.  I did some research on 2017 wedding trends so I tried to incorporate a few of them.  My couple, Sarah and Blaine will be getting married at the Arboretum in the fall.  We will have succulents of varying colors throughout the ceremony and reception.  We will use Copper to add some bling here and there.  We will have several food and drink stations through out the reception with bite size snacks and custom cocktails.  They have chosen to have a naked cake. We will have a DJ to provide dance music and a light show.  The favors will be small succulents in copper cups for everyone to take home.

Project 1

Posted By Alyssa Murphy, Thursday, January 5, 2017

This is my first project. I really enjoyed the aspect of choosing a theme for the wedding, including color coordination and choosing decoration elements that go with "elegance" and "a magical evening." Choosing wedding activities was my biggest challenge, because sometimes I mainly wanted to focus on the look of the wedding and not so much the entertainment. There were several challenges to this project as it was my first wedding I have planned, but I have learned a lot along the way. Now I have a better idea of how many elements go into planning an entire wedding.

Project 1 - Plan A Wedding

Posted By Madeline Harper, Monday, November 28, 2016

I'm so excited to post this project! It has really helped be understand the big picture of wedding planning. I enjoyed using the A8 formula as a guide as it helped me get a better understanding for the design portion of planning an event. This project has posed important questions for me to answer as I begin to create a brand and a process for my company.

Project 1 - Plan a Social Event or Wedding

Posted By Chelsea Wilks, Tuesday, November 1, 2016

This was very time consuming, but I enjoyed it completely. This project has helped me incorporate the A8 formula and to break it all down. I have learned a great deal with this one project and can't wait to do the other two projects soon. This project is based on a couple who has a love for the outdoors and hunting. They wanted a rustic wedding with charm. The venue, Rustic Grace Estate, has the perfect mix of charm and rustic country vibe. The venue is actually where my in-laws first lived, so it was really fun to incorporate that venue into this wedding. I hope you all enjoy!

Anyways, this project was difficult because I had to redo it five times due to I was not happy and then once my laptop crashed! But, I finally finished! Yaya!

For Project 1, I created a dream wedding using the A8 formula and wix.com to create a website for my presentation.  This project gave me a full understanding of how important it is to utilize the A8 formula when planning an event.  I often hear friends mention Pinterest.  I had know ideal of the abundance of information available on this website.  I also enjoyed using wix.com to create a website for my presentation.

A Nautical Graduation Party

Posted By Joanne Hinds, Tuesday, August 16, 2016

This final project was very special as it was very useful to my business. I was able to "plan" an event, which allowed me to understand what the event planning world is like a little more. This project also allowed me to learn more about the credentials and the documents for owning an event planning business. In conclusion, thanks to the event that I was able to have planned, I gained more information that will contribute to the way my business will be run.

Please enjoy my project as you view it, I worked really hard on it! Thanks!

I really enjoyed this project.  I loved that I got to use all of my creativity and plan this wedding.  So far this course has taught me more than I could have ever imagined about wedding and event planning.  There is so much more that goes into the planning of these events than what meets the eye.  I can't wait to keep learning!

This Project was a little harder then i expected it to be especially after having to start over multiple times. I can say it was very exciting to do. I had a lot of fun with it. I would love to do it again. Using the A8 really helped a lot, it guided me to the next step and was very useful in helping me decide how this wedding would go.
