Posted By Kim Renzi, 19 hours ago
For this project, I outlined the wedding of Travis & Jenny in the form of a PowerPoint. I showcased the vendors used, their timeline, along with pricing and packages. I also identified all aspects of the wedding using the A8 Formula!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Kayla N. Rickner (Bickell), Monday, December 9, 2019
For this assignment, I put together a mood board for an early 30's couple that is planning a Napa Valley wedding. Wanting to blend the sophistication of Italy to the comfort of their California home, I looked for images that paired elegant with familiar. For example, a wine and cheese hors d'oeuvres buffet style, or gold-trimmed wine glasses placed alongside wooden plates.

Hello, my name is Yolanda Black I’m loving this course and I excited about starting my own business as an Event Planner.  Today I’m showcasing a bride that is requesting a touch of elegance with a little flare.  The bride requested a tall centerpiece with candles and flowers along with a 2-course meal.

Project #1 - Eco/Economy Conscious Couple Throw a Guest Focused Wedding

Posted By Ashley Stokes, Friday, November 22, 2019

Hello, All! My name is Ashley Stokes from Albuquerque, New Mexico. A bit about me, even though I prefer to stay behind the scenes. My academic background is in English, more specifically technical writing. My time working for the government truly ignited the little spark I have always had for event management. So, I left my government job to work for myself! The Event Collaborative opened in February of 2017 and here I am trying to sharpen my skills while gaining my certification.

This course has been a pleasant surprise. I thought this may just push me over the edge in info-absorption. Easy to follow material and quizzes that align with the course content has been a pleasure to swim through and compare to my own experience.

In regard to Project 1, my sweet, outdoorsy couple chose an Autumn wedding in a local venue. We went with simple greenery, mostly eucalyptus, with splashes of rich color. In addition to the greenery, we used soft up-lighting for a warm tone/mood throughout the event. Cream linens and lace were also implemented. Hardy fare served buffet style satisfied hungry guests. The night closed with music from a local (shall I say local celebrities of sorts) and dispensing of locally crafted wedding favors. It was a pleasure to focus on the guests AND the local economy with my super eco/economy conscious couple.

Project 1

Posted By Wanda Bryce, Tuesday, November 19, 2019

Hello, My name is Wanda Bryce and I have finally completed my last assignment. I chose to plan a bi-cultural wedding with Jamaican and French connections. Given that I am Jamaican and I am in love with the French culture of romance I thought this was ideal.

This wedding is being held for a bi-racial, bi-cultural, millennial couple. Chris is the Groom, he is a Caucasian French-American and the Bride, Lia, is a black Jamaican woman. The couple met in Brooklyn, New York where they explored and solidified their love for each other. Chris proposed at a mutual friend’s yatch party while docked at the Statue of Liberty on New Year’s Day, January 2019 at 12:01am. The wedding is set to be held at Chris’ childhood country home in France. The décor and design will pay homage to Chris’ culture while the food, music and most of the appreciation tokens will reflect Lia’s Jamaican heritage. The atmosphere will include family members from Jamaica and France enjoying the celebration while getting to know each other and learn the respective cultures.

The wedding planner will use the A8 Formula to illustrate the event. The Bride and Groom’s attire will be fitting for their personality, venue selection and day-of weather conditions. The couple will sport a modern, yet slightly vintage and chic look. The Bride and Groom’s accessories will complement their attire and accentuate the entire look. The couple will wear minimum jewelry but the select pieces will no-doubt be a show stopper. The theme of the wedding will reflect the Bride and Groom’s culture and personality with signature styles such as the Bride’s favorite color, purple/lavender, being the focal theme and a slight inclusion of the New York City life with small décor such as yellow cab, Statue of Liberty ornaments with one of three photo booths being “Brooklyn-Nets” themed. The other two photo booths will be Eiffel Tower themed and Jamaican Sunset Themed. The menu will consist mainly of traditional Jamaican meals such as Jamaican pepper shrimp cocktail, Jamaican escovitch fish and bammy, Jamaican oxtail and steamed vegetables and Jamaican Jerk Chicken and rice and peas being served from a live Jerk Chicken Grill. The drink options will vary between choices such as Jamaican Rum punch and Jamaican Rum cream and an assorted list of French Wines.

Guests will enjoy traditional Jamaican folk dance performance and a traditional French music performance. The DJ will play from a curated playlist consisting of Dancehall, Reggae, 90s R&B Hits and French party music. Guests will leave with numerous tokens of appreciation from French desserts to Jamaican Red Label Win samples. The Cake will be in the shape of the Eiffel Tower but the flavor will be that of Jamaican black cake. A secondary buttercream map of Jamaica cake will be available for those who would prefer something less traditional.

Project 1: Plan a wedding

Posted By Lia Diogo, Monday, November 18, 2019

Hi everyone!

I'm Lia Diogo and I live in Westchester County in New York.

Although this is project nr 1, this is my final project to submit to the  board.
I have planned a wedding on December 24th, 2019 for my couple, Alexandra and Brandon. They love Christmas and winter so they really wanted a Christmas Eve wedding.
We faced some challenges along the way because December 24th is not  just any day, but eventually all the vendors and venues we wanted were willing to help us and accommodate us on this special day.

I loved doing the CWEP course and the projects. It was a lot of work but I really enjoyed doing it, and I feel I have learned so much. I even feel that I may actually start my own business even though this was not my intention when I started the course.

Lia

Project 1

Posted By Felicity A. Santana, Sunday, November 17, 2019

Hi, my name is Felicity Santana, I'm 22 & I was born and raised in the Bronx, NY. Before I decided to take this course, I was in college studying to get my Spanish Degree. I think that being bilingual will definitely help me with any future business ventures.

I plan on starting out my event planning business soon and hope to get to a point where I can do events for people that may not be able to afford them or people who haven't been able to experience a formal event.

Doing this project really put everything I learned throughout the course into perspective for me. I was able to plan a baby shower for someone and be as creative as I wanted to be. The baby shower is Disney themed, for all of us who want to experience what being a kid is like again.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Lesly Reyes, Wednesday, November 6, 2019

Hello Everyone!

My name is Lesly Reyes and I am from Northern Virginia. Prior to my current employment, I spent the previous years working for a spa where I held the position of event coordinator. I would plan spa days for brides and their bridal parties to relax before the big day. I already had a love for weddings but after planning these day-of spa events and being a small part of their big day it made me realize that I wanted to do more. I knew in my heart that my passion was wedding planning. My goal is to have a successful wedding and event planning business. I want to pride myself in working with a variety of clients from different cultures and backgrounds.

So far, I have had a great experience with this course. I am soaking up all the information provided from the assignments, textbook and discussions. Knowledge is key and with that I am also gaining hands on experiences. My instructor has provided so much material from what it is to be out in the industry planning events and I am so thankful that she is open and willing to share all her expertise. This project truly challenged me but also taught me that I am more than capable of planning an event from beginning to end. I still have a lot to learn but I feel more confident in creating timelines, budgets and communicating an event production to future clients.

I have planned an August fall wedding. The event will have a romantic, rustic feel. This semi-formal wedding will be held in a vineyard with plenty of wildflowers, greenery and pampas grass for the ceremony and reception. Tones of oranges, coppers, dark grays and greens will fill the venue space with rustic wooden signs directing guest throughout the event. With plenty of food, drinks and music, add in a sparkler couple send-off and this wedding will have guest putting their phones down to create countless memories.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Jennifer Chahoud, Friday, October 25, 2019

Hi everyone!

My name is Jenny and I am from Las Vegas, NV! I spent the last 6 years of my life working at a financial institution and realizing this just wasn't cutting it for me. As a lover of weddings, parties, love, and romance I decided to launch my own wedding planning business! I start this past April and right now I'm looking for all the ways to better educate myself to give my clients a great experience. So far this course has been good, a little hard to navigate or maybe I'm just not that tech savvy. I'm learning new things which is what I'm looking forward to the most!

My project is for a couple that loves the wooden rustic look but wants a touch of glamour to it. The feathers in the bouquet and decor gives it that extra touch of sophistication while the lanterns and rose/burgundy colors give it a sense of romance. This wedding would take place during October in a hot climate state so outside would be perfect during the day and a slight breeze at night.

CWEP Project 1 Kennedy and James Wedding

Posted By Chandler Payne, Monday, October 21, 2019

Hello, my name is Chandler and I'm currently living in San Diego. I'm currently working at a school in the Admin department but have always been interested in events. I get to do some events here at the school but the scale is just not what I am looking for, so I am looking to start my own events company.

So far this course has been pretty good, I'm learning I know more about events than I thought I did but at the same time learning things I hadn't thought of before. I know that this will be a great tool to have under my belt when looking for new jobs and new opportunities in the events world. I also look forward to taking advantage of the internship programs LWPI offers.

This mood board is for Kennedy and James' Wedding in August of 2020 in San Diego. They wanted a very romantic and soft wedding with accents of geometric shapes for dimension. They are such a sweet couple and the choices they have made really stand to make the event very personal to each person that attends.

CWEP Project 1 Mood Board

Posted By Roxanne Mayne, Wednesday, October 16, 2019
Updated: Thursday, October 17, 2019

Hello!

My name is Roxanne. I am originally from California and recently relocated to Florida. I have been in the Hospitality and Catering business 25+ years. My Italian upbringing has instilled in me great love for the arts, family, architecture, music and food. What a great way to enjoy what I love most by becoming a Wedding & Event Planner.

I decided to take the CWEP course to have a better knowledge of owning my own business. I am also interested in Floral Design and plan on taking a course to better understand the basics of floral design.

My couple, Jonathan & Isabella met in Italy while Jonathan was attending school abroad. Although they are now living in the USA they've always hope and dreamed of a Traditional Italian Wedding. They have chosen The Villa Casa Casuarina the former Versace Mansion on Ocean Drive in Miami. It is an opulent villa venue that's everything you would expect from the Italian Designer.

The theme and colors are patterned after an exquisite handmade tile Isabella brought with her from La Spezia, Liguria, Northern Italy. Manarola one of the five small villages of Cinque Terre that is a bright little town famously known for its rugged coastline, Siachettra wine and medieval relics.

Italian Weddings are indeed one of the most lavish indulgences! Lengthy celebrations and scrumptious food, all are the integral parts of engagement & reception ceremonies in an Italian Wedding. Apart from merry making, the rich traditions and folklores make Italian Wedding very special! From fixing the wedding ceremony date to choosing the gifts for the newly married couple, every detail is considered to bring good luck or avoid bad luck to the duo.

CWEP Project 1

Updated: Wednesday, October 16, 2019

My name is Pascale Wasserbeck and I am from Miami.  I am currently working as a business analyst but also enjoy planning various kind of events as a hobby. It is truly satisfying to see something you create bring so much joy to people around you. This is the reason why my husband and I decided to buy a venue and cater to weddings and events. I have a financial background but really have no ideas of the ins and outs of becoming an event planner.  Therefore, I decided to take this course to provide not only adequate services to my future customers but also to alleviate the stress and anxiety that comes along with planning any kind of event, big or small.

My project is about my daughter’s wedding.  She is getting married next year, in August 2020 and although it seems to be far away, I am already feeling the pressure to get things done quickly.  She was fortunate to find a venue that offered a lot of the amenities she was looking for, ceremony and reception in one location. Ever after barns Peach farm is a hidden gem, they can accommodate up to one hundred guests and provide the tables, chairs, linen and rustic accessories.  They also give you the choice to bring in your own vendors even though they have a list of preferred vendors to work with. The staff is extremely courteous, responsive and strive to make the process easy and fun.

CWEP Project 1: Plan an Event

Posted By Kendra Dougherty, Sunday, October 13, 2019

Hello All!

My Name is Kennah Buckaloo and I work for an asset tracking company. After helping plan a few weddings, I decided it was best take the next steps and become certified, so I could do what I love full-time!

So please meet Tammy and Gavin! These love birds have known each other a long while, but the timing was never right. Then in 2018 they found a way to one another and got engaged in 2019. Tammy's dream was to keep all dates the same (dating, engagement, and marriage), to keep it as simple as possible. So on April 30, 2020 they will tie the knot!

After checking out a few venues they decided to go with The Venue at Waterstone in Celina, Texas. This venue was the easiest for their friends and family to get to and fit the theme they wanted! They decided to go with Rustic, Chic, as they both grew up in a small-town on a farm! the Bride will be wearing an off the should A-line lace dress with 3/4 sleeves. She wanted the Bridesmaids to match the color pallet but choose a dress they were comfortable in, as long as it was floor length. The Groomsmen will be wearing khaki pants, white button-up shirts, and rose-gold suspends with oxford style shoes. The Groom will wear almost the exact but with a khaki vest to match the pants.

The Boutonnieres will be kept simple with baby's breath and the bridesmaids will have roses with baby's breath. The Bride will do a half-up/half-down hairstyle and will have a rose gold earrings to match her rose gold ring. She will keep her makeup simple and elegant as well.

The couple chose rustic invitation to send out to the guests, with the RSVPs to match. When arriving at the venue you will cross a bridge that will be lined with mason jars with white flowers and mosquito repellent. Upon entering you will sign the two guest books (one is sign-a heart and drop it in the frame; the other is a bucket list for the couple). The guests will enter the ceremony area: you will see whiskey barrels on either side of the entry to the aisle, the aisle will be a burlap runner will mason jars and white flowers, and the arch will be simple with flowers and tulle to add a touch of elegance.

After the ceremony the guests will go to the reception area and the bar will open! It will be a stocked bar with liquor, beer, and wine. there will be mason jars and whiskey barrels through out the reception as decor. the centerpieces will be wood slices with mason jars painted to match the color scheme and flowers matching the Bride's Bouquet. The food will be in a buffet style (TBD) with pie tins for the guests to use as plates. The dessert will be a single tier cake on a stand with cupcakes underneath.

To keep the guests entertained their will be a photo booth and yard games: Corn hole, horseshoes, ring toss, and Giant Jenga, and dancing! to finish off the night the couple will exit though bubbles to go on their Honeymoon!

Cupid’s Arrow CWEP project 1

Posted By Victoria Alexander, Thursday, October 10, 2019
Updated: Thursday, October 10, 2019

I am Victoria Alexander I graduated from Florence Darlington Technical College with an associates degree in Marketing and Management. I am currently twenty years old and found an interest in wedding planning after helping with a few of my friends weddings.

This young couple from a small town in the South wanted a rustic and vintage wedding. I chose these decorations because, the mason jars give with the antique frame give this couple the vintage look. The mostly wood look with a white writing gives the couple the more rustic look they were hoping for. The colors of the wedding were a light peach with a touch of red throughout.

This wedding is taking place in the early fall in a small town. The ceremonies will take place at 4:00pm the reception will follow with food, drinks and dancing.

CWEP Project 1 Mood Board

Posted By Grace Cheng, Tuesday, October 8, 2019
Hi I am Grace Cheng. I have always wanted to experience hosting and planning an event. This course has taught me so many techniques and also provides helpful templates for me to plan in the future. For my project 1, I choose to plan a rustic wedding style to create a romantic and memorable wedding. After searching many venues, the vibe and location of Muckenthaler Mansion perfectly fits my expectation. It is simple but I also able to put up the rustic design. I picked dusty rose, white, slightly dusty and gold to incorporate the lavender theme.

Posted By Louie Scott Jr, Tuesday, October 8, 2019
My name is Louie Scott, Jr. I am currently an event coordinator for the City of Dallas and hope to branch out to create my own event planning business, louie by design (all lower case). My background prior to joining the City was in hotel management were I served as a General Manager for Marriott. During my tenure in the hotel industry I gained experience in conference and event planning as well as catering services. Because of this experience I have been called on frequently to assist with planning family weddings and parties. The event planning business is what I have come to love so I intend to learn all that i can from this course to lead me toward my dream of success as a reputable event planner. For my project I chose to plan my 50th birthday party held on the Margaret Hunt-Hill Bridge in Dallas, Texas. I chose the Margaret Hunt-Hill Bridge because I am a lover of nature and skylines, and from the bridge, I am able to get the best of both worlds. This party will involve lots of a-list celebrities, elaborate decorations and unheard of service to my guests. Hope you enjoy the party!
