CWEP Project 1

Posted By Bianca Evans, 17 hours ago
Updated: 17 hours ago

Hi Everyone! My name is Bianca and I am from Houston Texas. I have wanted to be a wedding planner since I was 13 years old when I helped out with my cousin's wedding. My goal is to work for a small company with a team of planners. Right now I am working as a paid part time day of assistant with a planner. I will start a 10 week internship with her in a couple weeks. To this day, I have done one solo wedding outside of her for a friend of a friend and am planning two more weddings for friends one being this April.

This mood board was inspired by my childhood friend's wedding next year in Colorado. She wants a January wedding and is already looking into a venue in the mountains for a warm and festive ambiance.

CWEP Project #1

Posted By Stephanie Villatoro, Monday, January 21, 2019

Hey! My name is Stephanie, I am from the Northern Virginia area. I have had a passion for event planning starting in 2014 when I took a wedding planning course at GMU as an elective. But by then it was too late for me to change my major so I continued with my business degree knowing that it will help me in the future. I have interened and worked with various planners in the area in hopes to one day have my own event planning business, alongside my sister. That is why I have decided to take these steps and pursue my certification.

The project one assignment really made you dive into all the elements and details of planning a wedding right away. It made me look into local vendors and see what they offer and compare them to similar vendors. All knowledge that will be very useful in the end when recommending vendors to clients.

My inspiration for project 1 came from a couple that I helped with 2 years ago. It was the first really big wedding that I was able to help plan from start to finish and to this day it is one of my favorites so far.

My mood board shows you a quick glance at what they wanted for their wedding day.

CWEP Project #1

Posted By Brittany M. Radish, Monday, January 21, 2019

Hi Everyone! I am Brittany Radish from a suburb of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I am taking this course so I can learn the skills necessary to become the best wedding planner for my future clients. My corporate job is in Corporate Event and Tradeshow Management, however I have found myself planning weddings for others in the evenings and weekends. With that being said, I am opening my own wedding and event planning business! So far, I have enjoyed this course! There has been many small details that are mentioned in the text and videos that I have not thought of.

For Project #1, I chose to highlight a current client of mine that is quite different from everyone I have worked with before. Their budget is very tight, which allowed up to be creative at where money was being sent. The most creative and non-traditional aspect would be the ceremony/reception is only in the afternoon and the food is a casual brunch buffet.

Throughout the duration of my certification and course work with Longevity I am making strides to open my own business, B-Rad Weddings & Celebrations! Website and social media is coming soon!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Shreshtha Ghoshal, Thursday, January 17, 2019

Hi everyone! My name is Shreshtha and I'm a Dallas-based event coordinator. I've been in the events industry for over 5 years, and was finally ready to take my career to the next level by gaining the training and education I needed from LWPI.
I've had a blast in this course so far. I've learned so many things I didn't even know I needed to know, and feel a lot more confident about planning a full scale wedding from start to finish thanks to this project.

My project is actually based on my own wedding, which will happen in 2022. My fiance and I recently got engaged, and nothing is more daunting thank planning your own wedding! We decided to have a sunset ceremony at the beautiful Rancho Mirando in Texas Hill Country, and are very excited for everything to come together! This project is an overview of just that, and I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did putting it together!

CWEP Project 1

Updated: Thursday, January 17, 2019

Hi everyone, my name is Emily Peterson.  I am from Denver, Colorado. Before I started this course I studied Event and Meeting Management for 9 years with a concentration in Weddings and I joined this class to take my career in the wedding industry to the next level and open new possibilities for my future.

Here is my Pinterest board: https://www.pinterest.com/EAWeddings1/ and the Canva mood board I created.

My mood board is based off my couples wine theme. They want to get married at a Vineyard and use lots of jewel tones for colors. The bride wanted an elegant and sophisticated feel to the wedding and the groom asked for some rustic yet elegant elements. They also wanted wine to be the center of the theme as they both are wine drinkers and lovers.

Project 1 - Rustic Romance Wedding

Posted By Ashley Bald, Friday, December 14, 2018

Hello Everyone!

My name is Ashley Bald and I was born and raised in Philadelphia but have now lived in Rhode Island for about two years. I moved here to attend the Rhode Island School of Design as a graphic design major, and plan on offering my design services alongside my planning services. I have been playing music as a drummer and creating art for many years now, but also have always had a passion for the planning of weddings and events. My goals are to start up my own planning business in early 2019 and work throughout the year to make it successful. I want to use my associate's in graphic design degree and this certificate to make a better life for my and my 6 year old son.

I have no prior experience in planning but I do have plenty of design experience that helped me not only have an eye for color and design of a wedding, but also of the website I created. I'm presenting in this blog post project one, and the theme I created for this wedding is Rustic Romance. I'm excited to see what everyone else has come up with as well!

Enjoy!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Sierra Ostergaard, Sunday, December 9, 2018

Hey there! My name is Sierra Ostergaard and I'm currently residing in Fort Polk, Louisiana where my husband is stationed in the Army. As an army wife, I've had many careers such as a Elementary School teacher and a CNA(Certified Nurse Assistant) but this allows me to follow another one of my dream jobs because why pick just one? haha! I hope to be able to give others a chance at a wedding of their dreams without the stress of putting one all together!

This project has certainly opened my eyes to how much actually goes into planning a wedding. Every little detail matters and it has been so much fun trying to plan and coordinate schedules and planning for this wedding.

My clients met while in college and want their big day to be in their favorite season: Winter! With a unique blend of colors arranging from red, gold, silver, and a supply of greenery, there will be a winter themed wedding. Every aspect of the wedding will be winter themed all the way from winter invitations with fresh spruce figs to scented Firestarter pine cones as appreciative favors. By the end of the wedding, you will see why the couple loves winter and it may just become your new favorite season as well!

I thoroughly enjoyed Project 1. I was able to do research and use this as a template for a real wedding I will be planning next year.  It allowed me more creative control and the direction i would like to go with my planning.

My name is Kayla and I am new to the idea of being a wedding planner.  I help and take the initiative to plan my own as well as some of my friend's parties and I absolutely love it!

My best friend just got engaged and is anticipating a beach style wedding.  While I'm not using her choices that she has already made in planning her wedding for my project, I am indeed using her as the inspiration behind my project!  This was such a fun part of the project and I can't wait to see what the rest of this course has in store for me!

Project 1

Posted By Jennifer Nunez, Friday, November 23, 2018

Hi my name is Jennifer Nunez. I live in New York. My goal as a professional planner is to gain as much experience as I can. I want to be able to open up my own business with a family member or a partner. I want be able to do wedding events, parties; all kinds of event. In order to do that I need to gain knowledge and experience. That's why I'm here taking this class. Hopefully this could help me open up a part time business and in the future be my full time job.

Project 1 was very exciting to do because i felt like i was actually creating someone's wedding. I was a little bit challenging when it comes to budget, good vendors and being organized on your timeline.

My mood board was created for Will and Jennifer's Wedding. They asked for a rusty vintage wedding outside. Wedding is mostly about the little details like the lights, trees and flowers surrounding the area.

project 1

Posted By AnaLucia Schmidt, Friday, November 23, 2018

My name is Analucia and I was born in Peru and I am currently living in Mckinney Texas! I found a passion for wedding and event desing since I was little. My family owned a catering business in my country so I practically grew up in a kitchen full of smells, people and ideas.

I plan to have a successful business up and running within the next few years.

This project was SO fun! I kind of planned this wedding as I pictured my daughter's "dream" wedding to be, which made it super easy! I learned a lot about budgeting and just how much detail goes into a wedding.

This wedding was an outdoor elegant wedding. The theme was based off the couples' lives, which meant that a lot of what they incorporated into their lives, they incorporated into their wedding. It really showed who the bride and groom were.

I really enjoyed this project, even though it took some time. :)

Hi,

My name is Sara and I am from the Chicago suburbs! I am an ex-hair stylist but still am a part of the beauty industry. I found a passion for wedding planning back in 2010 when I was pregnant. Due to birth complications and raising my baby as a single mother, it was hard for me to focus on my career. Five months after my baby was born, I decided to attend cosmetology school, where I was licensed in 2012. Began this course again earlier this year and I am happy to say that I think I found my passion! I plan to have a successful business up and running within the next few years.

This project was SO fun! I kind of planned this wedding as I pictured my own "dream" wedding to be, which made it super easy! I learned a lot about budgeting and just how much detail goes into a wedding.

Project 1

Posted By Angela Cloutier, Sunday, November 18, 2018
Updated: Sunday, November 18, 2018

Hello!  My name is Angela, and I am DONE with Project 1.  I am from Cape Cod Massachusetts, and I love this program.  I have been a special education teacher for eight years, but I wanted to do something more creative with my life.  I am a very organized person, so I know that this will be a perfect second career for me.

My goals/plans as a professional in event planning is to work as an event planner at one of the many beautiful resorts on Cape Cod.  Cape Cod weddings are extremely popular, so I know that I will be very busy when I have completed this course.

My experience in this course has been wonderful so far.  I have been extremely supported by the program, and I am learning so many things in the event industry.  It is definitely more work than I originally thought, but I am up for the challenge.  The course is well-paced, informative, and interesting.  This project was very time-consuming, and it was very challenging.  I am very happy with how my project turned out, and I learned so much about what is needed for a successful wedding.

The project I am presenting is a beautiful bohemian-themed wedding that is rustic, elegant, ad simple.  The wedding is more about the little details like the flowers, favors, and music which allows the wedding to be rustic-chic while embracing nature.

Thank you for reading my blog!!!

CWEP Project 1- Mood Board

Posted By Cristina Del Campo, Monday, November 12, 2018

Hi!  My name is Cristina del Campo and I'm a Miami native. I've worked in the Education field for 21 years with my duties ranging from classroom teacher to Admissions Director to Activities Director. I had always enjoyed planning simple events such as children's birthday parties or baby showers for friends; however, it was during my years as an Activities Director that I truly discovered my passion. Planning galas, proms, Homecoming dances, executive luncheons, and golf tournaments allowed me to use my organization skills, creativity, and eye for design. There's something extremely satisfying about planning each tiny detail of a function and then seeing the beauty of the finished product. Fast forward to the present and I am hoping to start my own part time business as an event planner with the goal of eventually making this my full time focus!

My time in the CWEP course has been exciting! It has been a great experience to learn from Cemone who is  "in the trenches" and living her passion.

My Mood Board is based on the wedding of Sabrina and Andrew who have been dating for five years. The overall feel is classic and romantic accentuated by an elegant palette of navy, burgundy, and gold with touches of lace. The couple chose a Fall wedding in Miami at the Coco Plum Woman's Club with both ceremony and reception on site.

Hello my name is LaShaye and I am from Little Rock, Arkansas. I am currently a customer service representative for an insurance company however my passion is event planning. I currently help friends and family members plan baby showers, birthday parties and an assortment of other events. My goal to eventually plan more larger scale events and to be known as a creative genius! This is currently my first course in professional event planning however I am loving it. I had the pleasure to plan this fall themed wedding for Jamie and Brian. I have enjoyed creating a wedding for my clients because they are not very traditional. My clients don’t want a wedding cake, they love pop and rock music and the words  fun and outgoing are used to describe the couple. This couple decided to go with the color scheme of blush pink and navy blue. The bride and bridesmaids will all be adorned in "flowy" sheath dresses while the men will wear navy suits with pink accessories There will be plenty of food and tons of activities for the guests to participate in.

Updated: Saturday, October 27, 2018
My name is Harrison Fink, I am from Seaford, Delaware. I am Currently a Manager at a Restaurant and Event venue. My goal in taking this class is to Gain some more insight and experience as a Venue manager and event coordinator. I Enjoy this course because it is giving me a view that the person i am currently learning from. I'm not saying that he doesn't know what he is doing, because he does and he is doing an insanely good job. But he is also extremely busy and i can only learn so much when he has time to teach me. Taking this course is a lot more focused attention and is giving me the opportunity to see how someone else works in this profession. I am presenting the wedding I planned for Gabriela Maria Ramos. She is looking to do a late fall wedding with Ivory, Burgundy, and light pastel greens as her color theme. It will be a mostly outdoor wedding with lots of floral decorations and green foliage. The goal is to make is some what of a fairy tale feel with warm bistro lights and subtle lights wrapping around trees and integrated into the hanging flower decorations. It will be taking place in southern Virginia at Waverly Estate where we found a perfect outdoor spot with a beautifully aged tree to decorate and use as a center piece for the reception.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Maggie Garrison, Wednesday, October 24, 2018
Updated: Thursday, October 25, 2018

Hello everyone! My name is Maggie Garrison, I'm a recent Christopher Newport University graduate from Richmond, VA. Although I am new to the wedding and event industry, I'm not unfamiliar with being a part of large scale productions. I was a theatre major in college focused in design and technology, namely hair and makeup design, scene design, and scenic painting. I have wanted to work in the industry ever since the end of my junior year of college and am so excited to be beginning my journey by becoming a CWEP. I want to focus my career on becoming an event designer, decorator, and consult, and utilize my experience in scene design to create unique and tailored customizations for each and every client.

This course has not only helped to familiarize myself with the basis of knowledge essential for planners. It has also helped to steer myself towards paths I do and don't want to pursue. I loved getting to create the overall look and flow for my project, and have a far greater appreciation for the work that goes into the planning of an event.

My client has a love for vintage and all things classic. Her style is deeply sentimental and she has a love for timeless pieces with modern styling. For their special day, I wanted to highlight the design aspects she loves most while keeping the energy of the day light and upbeat. The palate consists of blue, white, grey, and a pop of VCU gold; centered around antique ginger jars, brass, unique silverware, and abundant florals.

CWEP- Project 1

Posted By Kelly B. Ducote (Parker), Tuesday, October 23, 2018
Updated: Tuesday, October 23, 2018

Hello! My name is Kelly Ducote & I live in Greenback, TN. I worked in banking for over 12 years and during that time planned many community events for the bank(s) I worked for. Within that time frame I found my calling & always wanted to pursue my dream job in becoming an event planner. I currently am an event coordinator for the company I work for. I plan anything from weddings, graduation parties, corporate events to baby showers & memorial services. My plan is to finish this course and start my own company.

My experience in the class has been very informational. Though some things I already knew, I am finding/learning new things every day! I enjoy hearing real life experiences from local event coordinators & vendors. Learning the finer details through this curriculum has helped me even in my current job with helping brides plan their weddings. I also learned the importance of having great relationships with vendors so that for future events we can work seamlessly together and create a wonderful experience for our client.

My inspiration for the wedding I planned for this project was an actual client of mine at my work who will be getting married this December. They are a very fun and loving couple who plan to have a huge wedding of 400 guest. So this has been the biggest wedding I have planned thus far. Though their wedding is in December the bride's favorite colors are gold and plush pink. Their vision is that their wedding will be very elegant with touches of gold & pink but still make it very warm and inviting for their guests. There will be lots of greenery and beautiful centerpieces with shimmering gold touches.
