CWEP PROJECT 1

Posted By Joseph Barragan, Thursday, April 2, 2020
Aricah and Kyle are in their early 30's and have known each other for 10 years, but have only dated for 4 years and engaged for 1 year. They both grew up around water, Aricah near a lake and Kyle near the Chesapeake Bay, so they wanted to share their love for the water with their guests and chose a quaint resort nestled on a small river. The late Spring formal wedding will be highlighted with bright shades of coral flowers and mixed metal place settings. Guests will dine on fresh seafood which will feature a raw oyster bar during cocktail hour. Instead of a grand exit, they would like a grand entrance into their reception where the guests can toss biodegradable confetti as they enter the space.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Heather Bowles, Sunday, March 29, 2020
Updated: Sunday, March 29, 2020

Project 1 was a great intro to all platforms! I graduated with a degree in Architecture and always enjoyed managing projects but my heart was in events. I finally got the courage after having twins to step out and create a new career for myself.

My name is Heather of DylADor Event Managment!

My couple wanted to bring the tropics to the overcast region of Seattle. Colors incorporated would brighten the spaces for the wedding overall. The couple wanted to feature a signature cocktail that embodied the tropics with infusion of taste and colors. The couple is prepared to ship in all exotic flowers for their wedding.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Sara C. Feolino (Smith), Thursday, March 26, 2020

Aloha everyone!

My name is Sara Feolino and I am from the island of Oahu. I currently reside in Southern Illinois and am a stay-at-home wife. Before my husband and I moved, I was a Kitchen & Bath admin/designer in-training. As a professional wedding/event planner, my husband and I will build our family business around engaged couples. Our services would include couple coaching, marriage prep, and wedding planning services. The goal is to create the least amount of stress and the most amount of memories for the couple and their family & guests without going into debt.

Doing this course has been a dream come true for myself and this project has been fun to plan because I love the aesthetic of a tropical/island wedding.  If I had the savings, I definitely would have wanted a wedding like this one!

In my project, I am planning a Hawaiian wedding for my best friend, Whitney and her boyfriend, Kai.  They are both born and raised in Hawaii and have a love for the beach.

CWEP Projet 1

Posted By Amandine Tollitte, Thursday, March 19, 2020

Hey !

I am Amandine, 27, French and already an event planner in my country. Being married to my American Soldier will bring me to the US shortly so I decided to follow this class to get the certification and be able to work there. It is challenging because the work method are different and so is studying in English but I am beyond excited.

About the couple : Their dream wedding is getting closer (May 2020) and they picked the "Casino" theme. They want red and black and a very "furnished" decoration. It is not a very common theme but this is what they like : not do do like others.

Here is my board attached !

PROJECT 1- PLAN A WEDDING-BOHO WEDDING

Posted By Melissa Jaramillo Beltran, Wednesday, March 18, 2020

My name is Melissa Jaramillo and I am from Colombia. I used to live in the US a few months ago but I am currently working as an event planner in a hotel in Colombia.

I am Tourism manager and I decided to take this course because I love working in events. Additionally, I am planning to start my own wedding planner business.

I really like this course because I think I have learnt so many things that will help me a lot to build my business.

John and Jennifer are a couple who have been together for 5 years. They decided to get married in April 2020 and they will celebrate their wedding at JW Marco Island beach resort.  The theme from the wedding is blue with lights around and the bridesmaids will wear light blue dresses. the ceremony will be semi-casual,

I have decided to capture my best friend´s ideas for her wedding. She is going to get married in April and she wants a hippy bohemian wedding with a simple and organic decoration, soft texture and rustically touch at the beach. Also, the natural vibe is the key of the party.

Regina and Mark's Natural Wedding

Posted By Farah Rizvi (rizvi), Monday, March 9, 2020
CWEP Project 1- Hi, my name is Farah and I'm an aspiring wedding planner from Queens, New York. Regina and Mark's wedding aesthetic consists of a prevalent beige color which collaborates with the outdoor feel they are going for. They want to promote and enhance the outdoor feel but want to stay somewhat traditional with their simple wedding cake and clothes. The women's dresses are consistent with the beige theme but the men's suits give a stark constrast with a deep blue. The main colors are beige, white, green, light brown, and blue. Don't let the outdoor look fool you, this gathering is still elegant in every way possible!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Olivia Porter, Saturday, March 7, 2020

Hi, my name is Olivia and I live in the Central Florida area. I've worked for Disney as a lifeguard and done a lot of jobs related to recreation in the guest service industry. I have a minor in Event Management though and have interned with wedding planners/vendors in the past, and really wanted to pursue my dream of starting my own business. I found this program recently and I'm so excited to get my certification in wedding planning and get Livvy Marie Weddings off the ground.

This project was so much fun to work on, but definitely very tedious. I enjoyed all the research that went into this project and getting to practice making a website on WIX. There is definitely a lot of details that go into wedding planning, that couples and even I, forget about, so I'm glad this project forced me to keep track of all the vendors and decisions that were made throughout the planning process and previous assignments.

My project centers around my wedding couple Abby and Jesse and their dream of having a Paris/Music themed wedding. The wedding itself is elegant and has a purple, pink, gold, black, and white color scheme. There are musical elements hidden throughout the decor, as well as, Paris themed accents to really make the colors pop and tie the two different themes together in an elegant way. Attached is the mood board I created that demonstrates how all the colors and ideas come together.

Project #1

Posted By Adrianna Villa, Tuesday, March 3, 2020
Hey, I'm Adrianna villa, I'm from Triton College, and my instructor is Desiree Moore Dent. CPWEP. My goal is to learn about the business and how I can make it into my career, i'm still very young and I haven't really planned anything big but I have done some birthday party's for friends here and there and I really enjoyed it. I would love to learn as much as I can, so I can also be successful as many of you are on here are or want to be. So far I am really enjoy my class time and I have learn so much! I opened my eyes to so many things, things I never thought of. Doing this project was a bit hard and it did take a long time to get everything done but i know that's not enough time to actually do this. But it was also very fun! I love trying to get everything I needed for this event and making sure it was within the budget. My event I choose was Quinceañera. I told my friends about this project and one of them wanted to be the sample. I was fine with it but my other friend got jealous because she wanted to be the sample. So I thought of it as a double Quinceañera. it was a lot of more work because I had to look for everything but double.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Alisha T. Stephen, Monday, February 17, 2020
Hi! My name is Alisha Stephen, I’m 22 (almost 23) years old & I was born & raised in Lawrenceville, GA. I stay at home with my mom & older brothers. Before doing Lovegevity I was hoping from job to job mainly in retail. I was wanting to branch out but no one was accepting my application.  I thought long & hard about being a wedding planner & one day I asked my mom for help & I took the leap! I plan on becoming a very successful wedding planner that lives worry free about finances, time & stress.

In my project, I’ve been given a very sweet couple who is young & vibrant! They want an emerald green wedding with gold accents & touches of pale pink. The gold creates an amazing pop of color while the pink brings the two bold colors back down to earth & mellows things out.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Angela Roman, Saturday, February 15, 2020

Hi! I’m Angela Roman and I’m from Ankeny, IA. I’m a full-time stay home mom of 2 and a part time registered nurse. My passion for weddings started with my own wedding. I really enjoyed planning it and even used the power point slides to help me envision the whole picture. After my wedding I realized how much I missed planning. Since my wedding I’ve helped out with 2 weddings. Both of which are friends’ weddings. It only took me a while to realize that this is my dream job. I’m in the process of starting an event planning business, which specializes in weddings.

So far, this class has given me more foundation and better understanding of what goes on with wedding planning. I’ve been learning a lot and enjoying in the process. I am taking this class online and I didn’t realize how difficult it can be to stay on track.  But I’m determined to reach my goal and finish this class.

Even though, I had my challenges, I still had a lot of fun with this project. I love doing the research and showing my creativity. I loved building my own website and exploring Canva. I’ve actually never heard of Wix and Canva until this class.

For project 1 case study, I’m helping plan a spring wedding. The couple’s wedding colors are silver, plum and lavender/lilac. This wedding will showcase romance, elegance and a touch of rustic.

This color scheme is mostly focused on deep purple and blue, with pink and silver accents. It's similar to the peacock theme, but not quite as bright.

I really enjoyed making this mood board - it's the first time I've ever done anything like this! I've used pinterest for years but never made anything from it. Thank you for the opportunity!

Assignment 1.3

Posted By Kayla Marie Looper, Wednesday, February 5, 2020
Updated: Wednesday, February 5, 2020

Hello! My name is Kayla Looper, and I am from Celina, TX. I am currently a High School English teacher, and while I love it, I feel that I have been called to help create events that are beautiful and timeless.

About five years ago, I planned my sister's wedding and that is what planted the seed for my dream. I quickly realized that I loved having an outlet for my creative side. Fast forward to 2019 when one of my duties for the year at work was to plan Prom. Let me tell you, I loved EVERY SINGLE MINUTE of it! I quickly realized that I could plan events every day for the rest of my life and fill totally fulfilled and excited. I feel like getting certified is the first step to creating my dream career.

My mood board was inspired by a couple in their early 30s who have a love for the simple things in life. They wanted a neutral color pallet and pampas grass. They went on a vacation early on in their relationship to Santa Barbara, CA, and while on the beach surrounded by pampas grass, they first said: "I love you." The couple expressed a desire to use one of their most cherished memories as the inspiration for their wedding.

Posted By Josie Guignon, Tuesday, February 4, 2020
Hi my name is Josie Guignon, I am currently a STAHM and decided that although I love being a STAHM I needed to pursue my dreams.  So here I am!  I fell in love with wedding planning when I took on planning my own wedding.  Staying in budget was a thrill and calling around pricing out vendors and getting things together was just exhilarating.  But the best part of all was watching all my plans and hard work come together!  I knew from that point on that I would LOVE to pursue this as a career and eventually own my own venue as well.  I have attached this beautiful fall wedding inspired project.  My wedding was supposed to be a fall wedding but due to my pregnancy we had to move our date up making it a summer wedding. Everything worked out amazingly.  But I still LOVE fall weddings.

CWEP Project - Plan a Wedding

Posted By Vetra Wolford, Sunday, February 2, 2020

Hello my is Vetra, I’m originally from the East Coast (Washington D.C./suburbs). I coast swapped about 7 years ago and now happily reside in sunny Los Angeles, CA. I am a represented voice actor and I also freelance within the apparel and fashion industry as a product designer and textile sourcer. I’m fortunate enough to mostly work from home; working in a home recording studio (my projects consist of commercials, various animation soundbites, online media/instruction videos, and audiobooks. Before I could afford my home recording studio I use to have to visit studios across town, this is a dreadful undertaking in L.A. traffic! Fortunately, I now connect from home and this frees up many many hours to spend with my teenage son who also works in the entertainment industry…. There is one big negative working from a 7’ X 9’ soundproof-isolation booth, unless I happen to have an outside studio audition or recording — I’m all day in solitary confinement. ‘I miss working with people’…. So, for sometime now I’ve been diligently researching on what else I could pursue. Again, I love-love-love working in VO and I don’t plan to exit 100%, it just may end up being a 40-60% split.

A few months ago via Google I looked into 'home business start-up ideas' and I came across 'wedding and event planning'. A lightbulb flicked on. I have a little experience, as I have planned and coordinated many events in the past, planned and hosted holiday celebrations and other various themed parties, and in business I have planned collection showcasing and fashion shows, and years ago I participated in two pretty big community fundraisers. I remembered that I really enjoyed the process and the work was fun to me!… More recently, I eventually stumbled across a ‘Lovegevity’ video, and I had what Oprah calls a “A-HA” moment! :) I knew that this was something that I could really put my heart and creativity into and totally enjoy doing it! So here I am, happily taking the CWEP college course at the University of La Verne, in La Verne, CA led by an extremely talented wedding and event planner extraordinaire, 'Rebecca Calagna’ — she's an inspiration!

Though it has been very hard for me to keep up on the coursework and project submissions (my schedule is currently nuts this time of year!) Making this part of project 1, was really inspiring and only reinforced my passion for wanting to be of service one day to clients in need — helping them create lasting memories, and also to have a passionate career where I can share with my clients a form of artistry!

My faux-couple are a very busy professional couple, they both work in the corporate world (age 37-40). They had been planning their wedding for some time now (over a year), and just wanted someone/a planner that could help manage the chaos. They chose the colors of turquoise, pearl, and gold and wanted an elegant-classy look.

CWEP Project 1 Vision Board

Posted By Ashley Miller, Thursday, January 30, 2020

Hello! My name is Ash, currently living in Riverside, CA. I recently started this course, and it already feels like I'm not "working" but EXPERIENCING my dream. I previously worked as a corporate event planner and loved the fulfillment it brought me...and then when I attended my first bridal show, I knew this was it. I found my "nitch." I'm going to be your next Wedding Planner in Socal!

Living in California, it's a very diverse state and the "Perfect Day" is shared amongst people of every walk of life. You will see Bi-racial, Multi-Cultural, Members of LGBT+, and many other couples who are celebrating their love with their friends & family. For my board, I wanted to portray that diversity and follow with subtle colors of white, purple and just a hint of green. I chose an outdoor greenery-setting with a naturally vibrant display of flowers as shown on the cake, bouquet, and table-top. I used white as the main display to keep the vibe classy and clean.

Tell me what you think in the comments!

CWEP Project 1.3 - Mood Board

Posted By Mary E. Tindle (Green), Saturday, January 18, 2020
Updated: Tuesday, February 4, 2020

Hi everyone, my name is Mary Tindle and I live in Katy, Texas, a part of the greater Houston area. For the last 20 years I have enjoyed a career in the oil and gas industry in which I started right out of college as a low-level drafter and worked my way up to Design Supervisor running the drafting group. I was able to accomplish this due to my leadership skills and ability to adapt to ever changing requirements and time schedules while maintaining deadlines and satisfying the client. However, the oil and gas industry is unpredictable with more and more jobs going overseas, so now is a great time to change careers to something that I am very passionate about, wedding and event planning. My ultimate goal is to have my own wedding and event planning business, with a flair for unique, themed, and eccentric events. Being in the Houston area and close to cities like San Antonio and Austin, there are lots of possibilities for large events that I would love to plan.

While I have no professional experience in event planning, I have planned several parties and events such as my own vow renewal ceremony that was extremely well received. I have planned baby showers and parties for friends and family. I put together a Halloween extravaganza a few years back, which included a haunted house that I designed and built. Our house was voted #1 decorated house in our subdivision and years later, people still ask if we are doing it again and have even offered to help with set up. I love to use my creativity to plan, organize, coordinate, and decorate any event and party possible from conception through execution. I can accomplish this by using my extensive design and leadership skills that I've developed over the years.

I chose to attend the Certified Master Wedding and Events course through Texas A&M. I am loving every minute of it so far. To see my visions take on a definition of their own is such a delight for me. I have a huge imagination with an enormous amount of creativity that has been aching to get out. For me, the sky is the limit. I can catalyze anyone’s vision and make their dream event come true. Once I get started, there is no stopping me.

For project 1, My couple is Hannah Davis and Alex Baker and this is their story:

Hannah and Alex met through a mutual friend at work. In their spare time, they immerse themselves in a world full of fantasy and adventure. Their quirky personalities and lighthearted approach to life are a perfect match. As avid adventurers, they are often inspired by Steampunk designs rooted in the 19th century culture where fantasy meets futuristic fashion, style and art characterized by the industrial revolution. They have requested a “Vintage Victorian Steampunk” inspired wedding experience. They're wedding is planned for June 14th, 2021 which is recognized as International Steampunk Day.

The couple both love vibrant shades of berry and lavender complimented with green and gold. Beautiful bouquets and tablescapes filled with floral combinations of burgundy calla lilies, dark red roses, hypericum berries and natural foliage accented with golden gadgets and gears paired with the natural glow of soft vintage lighting make for a very dreamy atmosphere.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Manny Mandapat, Monday, January 13, 2020

Hi Everyone - My name is Manny Mandapat and I live in the San Francisco/Bay Area (California). With a Masters in Business & Public Administration and a Bachelors in Public Administration, my background is in government accounting, analysis, budgeting, and management. Currently, I work for the City & County of San Francisco as an Operations Supervisor. Ever since I was young, I always had the knack of planning events, especially the design side of it. In fact, I was chosen to design the event space where our department held its annual holiday party, which turned out to be a success. I hope to utilize my creativity, work experience, and skills not only to open my own business one day, but to also inspire others. I strongly believe this industry is evolving, and I want to be a part of it.

This is my first week at Lovegevity. I am excited to learn new things and do the class projects. With the proper guidance and self-motivation, I hope I can do well in the program. In doing this first project, I recognize how important it is to be detailed in choosing a design/image. It has to tie in together.

For my mood board, I decided on a "Rustic Winter" wedding theme. I decided to choose Winter since it is the current season. I then added the rustic theme as I do enjoy the design and elements that come with it. When I think of a "Rustic Winter" wedding, I visualize candles, wood, lights, snow, pines/cones, etc. Overall, the theme/mood gives a sense of warmth and simplicity.
