CWEP Project 3

Posted By Ashten Brooke Burnell, Friday, November 1, 2019

My name is Ashten Burnell and I am working towards being a certified wedding and event planner through Lovegevity University Wedding Planning Institute.  I have a passion for planning and decorating weddings and events, as well as having a passion for using my creativity to help clients put together their dream events!

Now, picture a cold winter’s evening.  The trees are bare, the skies are a clear grey color, the tree branches are iced over, and a light snow is falling from the sky.  Even though the weather makes you want to bundle up in front of a fire, it still puts you in an aw of the mysterious beauty and elegance it possesses and the feeling it gives you.  With Ashten’s Events grand opening, we want to give you the same enchanted feeling that takes your breath away when you walk into the room (without the freezing cold temperatures of course)!

This event will be a great way to get our marketing material out!  Business cards and brochures will be handed out when guests walk through the door.  All in which will give out valuable information! Best of all, I will be able to meet potential clients and vendors face-to-face, and give recognition to the vendors who will help my the event possible.  My company and I are excited to host this event and get our company off the ground!  Also, it is also a great way to raise money for charity!  20% of all proceeds of this event will be donated to the Make-A-Wish foundation!

CWEP Project 3- Grand Opening!

Posted By Carmen Rosales, Tuesday, May 1, 2018
Hello everyone! My name is Carmen Rosales, I am from LA California. I have been working in the legal field for over 10 years and although I don't hate my job, I also don't love it. I have always felt that I have so much creativity and I'm the first to jump in when it comes to planing any event or party. I was so happy to find this course, and nowI am almost finished and hope to be a certified wedding and event planner, very shortly!

Through this course, I learned about the strong work ethic needed to be an event planner. I gained so much insight from the material and lectures provided by the instructors. The biggest takeaway for me was realizing what a huge network the wedding and event planning industry is, Im excited to jump in and start my own company.  My hope is to help couples realize the wedding/event of their dreams and to ease the stress of having to worry about throwing an epic party. M y other passion in life is traveling (currently uploading from FIJI!!) So, I'd also like to explore joining my two passions and dabble into destination weddings. Dream Team Productions is a firm believer in giving back to the communities in which it operates, and to this end supports a number of local charities, I'd like to help couples who are less fortunate as well as provide charity work , perhaps in helping plan events at local schools and/or church and community centers.

Dream Team Productions, will be hosting their grand opening ceremony on April 30, 2019 at a wholesale flower warehouse in North Hills, CA.  Proceeds from the event will go to benefit "Dresses fir All Brides", s charity that provides beautiful gowns to brides who don't have the budget to treat themselves to a gown.

At Dream Team Productions our mission is to connect our clients with our most trusted vendors to make dream weddings a reality. Let Dream Team Productions unravel the details... so you can tie the knot!

I Am Matrimony Presents: The Launch Party

Posted By Whitney Johnson, Wednesday, November 15, 2017

My name is Whitney M. Johnson, I am 29 years old from Palmyra-- the heart of Central Virginia. I currently am a Scheduling Coordinator for Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital. I am a graduate of Norfolk State University where i obtained my B.S. in Exercise Science and Kinesiotherapy and by night I am a firefighter with Fork Union Fire Department in Fluvanna County.

I have truly enjoyed every moment of this class and have gained a plethora of knowledge these past couple of months. It was well worth the hour and half commute every Thursday! Before i started this post I took a moment to reflect and i had to chuckle a little because one of the first things from the book that stuck with me was how the class text for some can become like a bible and as i glanced over-- well, highlighted, pages flipped down, a little ratty lol. THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING..

CWEP Project 3

Posted By Kryshana Madrid, Monday, October 9, 2017
Updated: Monday, October 9, 2017

Happy Fall to you all!

I just completed project 3. Wow! So much happening in this project, where do I begin?? My concept for my grand opening is "celebration of sustainability". I incorporated local vendors, food educators, and a guest speaker that knows how to pull off eco-friendly weddings. This project had me learning more about my community and how I can give back as a business. It taught me how much work goes into a community event like this one. The A6 formula helped me stay organized throughout this process. Check out my mood board and website at https://kshana17.wixsite.com/kryshanamevents.

Happy Planning!

Project 3-Married to Brunch

Posted By Caroline I. Drumm, Sunday, August 27, 2017

Hi I’m Carly! I’ve really enjoyed taking this course. It’s made me really excited to start my career in event and wedding planning. This course has been a lot of work, but has really gotten me thinking about the elements and aspects of business.  For my grand opening I want to have an event in early February to maximize the beginning of wedding season and can plan a brunch event. Since this event is before Valentine’s day I want it to have a warm atmosphere, but want decorations to be girly and romantic

CWEP PROJECT #3

Posted By Kimberly Cleveland, Tuesday, June 13, 2017
Updated: Tuesday, June 13, 2017

My name is Kim Cleveland and I am submitting my mood board for project 3. Sapphire Wedding Coordinators (SWC) announces the opening of their Chicagoland wedding planning and day-of coordinator business. Opening July 29th, the company will offer free consultations and planning services to couples that wish to marry in the city of Chicago and nearby suburbs.

The grand opening will be held at Lux Bar from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. The event is open to the public with opportunity to win giveaways from exclusive vendors including SWC. Brides, vendors and guests can expect to be pampered with makeovers, manicures, chair massages and mimosas. I will be delivering a business presentation each hour and reminding guests to join our raffle to have a chance to receive fun prizes including a free day of coordination package.

This project was so much fun to put together. I felt that all the assignments really helped tying in the process of opening the business. By the time I got to project 3 I felt that everything came together very nicely,

My name is Janeith Wright, a soon-to-be certified Wedding and Event Planner through The Wedding Planning Institute, a division of Lovegevity. While I am going to be newly certified, I am no stranger weddings and events. I’ve worked as a professional singer and have performed in and assisted with planning events ranging from weddings, showers, parties, and various other events. My experience at Lovegevity has equipped me with the knowledge and skills I need to fully execute an event from inception to completion. I am grateful for the chance to acquire the tools needed to live the life I dream of. I think the projects were instrumental in my preparation. They provided an opportunity for practical application of the information covered and helped me to lay the foundation for my business.  Project 3, Grand Opening was a good way to put all the pieces together. I eagerly look forward to officially launching in the near future.

Grand Opening- CWEP Project 3

Posted By Karr Stewart, Thursday, May 18, 2017

My name is Karr Stewart  The Event Diva Weddings & Events Grand Opening! New Local, Certified Wedding and Event Planner Will Help Brides Add That Special Touch in Creating Their Dream Wedding.
Irving, TX---March 08, 2017—The Event Diva Weddings and Events, an up and coming wedding and event planning business, is announcing their grand opening with an Open House for newly engaged couples. An exciting evening of hor d’oeuvres, cocktails and fun is scheduled to give brides ideas to help them plan one of the most magical days of their life.

Experience: My overall experience was great! I learned  lot about the different styles of events, weddings and cultures. I especially enjoyed the guest speakers weekly that's currently working in the industry. They gave a lot of great insight on what they do i.e photography, DJ etc... the pros/cons do/don'ts. My teacher Cheryl Allgood was extremely helpful and very informative. Being an event planner herself, she was able to help guide the class as to how a planner actually conduct business and aligned her experiences with our textbooks. This overall help the class put a lot of things in perspective.

We are welcoming to potential clients and vendors My experience about this project is that now I can say with confident that I am able to start my own business. this project taught me how grand opening work, about how to start a new and first business. My project is about a wedding event that has happened already I was a part of decorating the hall. It was little bit different from other weddings because it was to combine two cultures ceremony, which was an awesome experience.

My LWPI Experience

Posted By Melissa A. Talavera, Monday, April 24, 2017
Updated: Monday, April 24, 2017

My experience with Lovegevity's Wedding Planning Institute in Miami Dade College has been challenging however very intriguing and compelling.

Taking this course has motivated my passion for the industry even more than before I began the class. The chapters are exceedingly informative, as well as the podcasts that were in our curriculum. Jessica our instructor has been so kind, patient and also informative. I am very appreciative of Jessica sharing her knowledge with the class. This course has executed many different topics that are essential to successfully run your services and  business. From the A8 formula to learning about wedding etiquette and different cultures. Most importantly, being in this industry and as a planner to be, research will never end. One must always educate the customer by continuing to grow their knowledge in the market.

LWPI has been a significant learning experience and will follow through with my future business. Thank you for everything!

My Grand Opening

The link above is my submission of my final project. This project scared the crap out of me when I first read the directions. I am not good with creating anything online, much less this grand opening! But once I reviewed a few examples and understood how the program worked, it was so much fun. While it was extremely tedious and full of possibilities, I think it turned out great! I am very happy with this project! I basically took the A6 formula and found some great boards and pics to display each individual piece of the formula.

I really enjoyed putting this project together and I'm excited to have the majority of my Grand Opening details designed and compiled into a presentation to show to prospective vendor participants!  I had NO idea how to put a website together prior to completing this assignment and I'm very happy with the outcome!  This is yet another project that has brought me closer to opening my business and I am very thankful for my experience with LWPI!  I would appreciate any suggestions and feedback and hope you enjoy my Grand Opening presentation.

Sincerely yours,

From Passion to Profit, Really ???

Posted By Alana Epkins, Monday, March 28, 2016

Most people rarely get the opportunity to make a profit doing something that they love. I am currently one of those people but I made a decision about two years ago to find happiness in work. I’ve always loved the idea of planning events and I’m usually the go to person for family and friends for party planning. I even believe I was more excited about their events then even they were. For me its amazing to see an event go from the planning phase to the execution and have people enjoy themselves. I believe that great events create even greater memories.  I embarked on this journey to become a certified wedding planner about two months ago and I will say this it’s been an experience. There were times when taking this class have been both terrified and excited. With it coming to a close I’m very proud of myself and can wait to see what comes over the horizon. I can't wait to make all the event that I plan Luxurious.

Being Thankful

Posted By Diana Fuller, Friday, November 27, 2015

I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to enroll in the wedding and event planning course. It was not easy, but I am especially thankful to have made it through.  It was a journey as one of my classmates stated.  It took a lot of time, but I am thankful that I have made new friends along the way. We worked  together as a team and provided encouragement for one another.  I am thankful for our instructor Ellie Parris who was very patient with us and guided us to stay focused and on task.  I am thankful to have completed all projects, podcasts, quizzes and  the final exam.  I am thankful that I now have a new career goal to explore when I retire from the NYC Department of Education.  To God be the Glory! And so it is...

Gratitude is absolutely the way to bring more into your life.
