CWEP Project 1

Posted By Heather Bowles, Sunday, March 29, 2020
Updated: Sunday, March 29, 2020

Project 1 was a great intro to all platforms! I graduated with a degree in Architecture and always enjoyed managing projects but my heart was in events. I finally got the courage after having twins to step out and create a new career for myself.

My name is Heather of DylADor Event Managment!

My couple wanted to bring the tropics to the overcast region of Seattle. Colors incorporated would brighten the spaces for the wedding overall. The couple wanted to feature a signature cocktail that embodied the tropics with infusion of taste and colors. The couple is prepared to ship in all exotic flowers for their wedding.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Alisha T. Stephen, Monday, February 17, 2020
Hi! My name is Alisha Stephen, I’m 22 (almost 23) years old & I was born & raised in Lawrenceville, GA. I stay at home with my mom & older brothers. Before doing Lovegevity I was hoping from job to job mainly in retail. I was wanting to branch out but no one was accepting my application.  I thought long & hard about being a wedding planner & one day I asked my mom for help & I took the leap! I plan on becoming a very successful wedding planner that lives worry free about finances, time & stress.

In my project, I’ve been given a very sweet couple who is young & vibrant! They want an emerald green wedding with gold accents & touches of pale pink. The gold creates an amazing pop of color while the pink brings the two bold colors back down to earth & mellows things out.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Galit Yanai, Friday, February 14, 2020

Hello there!

My name is Galit and I'm very excited to share my first blog post on this blog.
I assume we all share the same passion to planning wedding in particular and events in general.

My journey started when I was 17 and my older sister got engaged- she was the first one in our family to get married, so we all got very excited about that and tried to throw the best and most fun wedding for the couple and guests.
As time passed, we started to feel the pressure of having so much responsibility. That's when I decided to take the lead and tried to do my best at helping my sister and taking some stress off her shoulder.
Within days I found myself designing her wedding dress, talking to the venue manager, choosing the right music with the DJ, making mood-boards for her to find the right hairstyle, and more... Suddenly I became 100% the center of information available for her, and by that gave her the time to enjoy every second of being engaged, instead of freaking out about the whole wedding planning.

Since then, I was helpful for many other friends and family members to plan their special events, and I always did it with a big smile on my face.

My main goal is to make my biggest dream come true and fulfill my endless desire to become a certified wedding and event planner!
I'm new to Lovegevity but I can already tell I feel like I'm in the right place.

My mood-board represents a summer, floral wedding, "the wedding of my dreams". When I imagine it I see a nice early summer evening, right before sunset, a little bit of wind blowing through the garden venue, and the smell of flowers and grass mixing up in the air. Floral arrangements and tiny icicle lights are surrounding the reception and ceremony area.

I would love to hear your feedback,
Galit

CWEP Assignment 1.3

Posted By Linda Cao, Monday, February 10, 2020
Updated: Monday, February 10, 2020

Hi everyone,

My name is Linda. I'm working in the hospitality industry. I have always wanted to learn more about Event Planning. So I'm taking this class to improve my knowledge about event planning specially wedding. Also, hopefully I can have my own business in this industry in the near future.

The mood board I created is one of my favorite wedding style. Vintage and cozy. It look simple but elegant. The color of candles and the green color of leave mixed with pastel pink roses create a warmth, relaxed space and help bring everyone closer.

CWEP Project #1 - Mood Baord UTA2020JOANNE

Posted By Emily Burke, Sunday, February 9, 2020
Updated: Monday, February 17, 2020

Hello everyone!

My name is Emily Grace Burke and I am from Fort Worth, Texas! I am a twenty-one years old college student who has struggled to find her passion through traditional academics. I am so excited to be starting this course and am looking forward to all the promising experiences I will gain through doing so!

When I read that, in this assignment, we were to create a mood board, my mind flooded with various different themes and color schemes. Honestly, I probably created about five different mood boards before narrowing down to two, and now the final one.

This is a look at a modern and moody wedding. I wanted to do something that looked simple and effortless yet sophisticated at the same time. The colors really grab my attention - deep greens, blacks, and golds come together smoothly to create a unique and timeless look. Using the vintage art deco invitations paired with the modern "naked cake" combines the best of both worlds, in my opinion.

Thank you for viewing!

CWEP Project 1.3 - Mood Board

Posted By Mary E. Tindle (Green), Saturday, January 18, 2020
Updated: Tuesday, February 4, 2020

Hi everyone, my name is Mary Tindle and I live in Katy, Texas, a part of the greater Houston area. For the last 20 years I have enjoyed a career in the oil and gas industry in which I started right out of college as a low-level drafter and worked my way up to Design Supervisor running the drafting group. I was able to accomplish this due to my leadership skills and ability to adapt to ever changing requirements and time schedules while maintaining deadlines and satisfying the client. However, the oil and gas industry is unpredictable with more and more jobs going overseas, so now is a great time to change careers to something that I am very passionate about, wedding and event planning. My ultimate goal is to have my own wedding and event planning business, with a flair for unique, themed, and eccentric events. Being in the Houston area and close to cities like San Antonio and Austin, there are lots of possibilities for large events that I would love to plan.

While I have no professional experience in event planning, I have planned several parties and events such as my own vow renewal ceremony that was extremely well received. I have planned baby showers and parties for friends and family. I put together a Halloween extravaganza a few years back, which included a haunted house that I designed and built. Our house was voted #1 decorated house in our subdivision and years later, people still ask if we are doing it again and have even offered to help with set up. I love to use my creativity to plan, organize, coordinate, and decorate any event and party possible from conception through execution. I can accomplish this by using my extensive design and leadership skills that I've developed over the years.

I chose to attend the Certified Master Wedding and Events course through Texas A&M. I am loving every minute of it so far. To see my visions take on a definition of their own is such a delight for me. I have a huge imagination with an enormous amount of creativity that has been aching to get out. For me, the sky is the limit. I can catalyze anyone’s vision and make their dream event come true. Once I get started, there is no stopping me.

For project 1, My couple is Hannah Davis and Alex Baker and this is their story:

Hannah and Alex met through a mutual friend at work. In their spare time, they immerse themselves in a world full of fantasy and adventure. Their quirky personalities and lighthearted approach to life are a perfect match. As avid adventurers, they are often inspired by Steampunk designs rooted in the 19th century culture where fantasy meets futuristic fashion, style and art characterized by the industrial revolution. They have requested a “Vintage Victorian Steampunk” inspired wedding experience. They're wedding is planned for June 14th, 2021 which is recognized as International Steampunk Day.

The couple both love vibrant shades of berry and lavender complimented with green and gold. Beautiful bouquets and tablescapes filled with floral combinations of burgundy calla lilies, dark red roses, hypericum berries and natural foliage accented with golden gadgets and gears paired with the natural glow of soft vintage lighting make for a very dreamy atmosphere.

Travis and Trudy-A Journey In Love

Posted By Elorne Duncan, Tuesday, December 17, 2019
Updated: Tuesday, December 17, 2019

I am Elorne Duncan, I am from the beautiful twin Island State Trinidad and Tobago.  We are located just 7 miles off the coast of Venezuela.  I am an event professional with over 15 years experience in the business.  I have work for Mr Brian Mac Farlane a celebrated event producer and designer in Trinidad and Tobago, I have done work for HRH Duke of Edinburgh on his visit to Grenada and I have worked for the top event company in Grenada for the past 2 years.  I am currently back home working with one of the best event companies in Trinidad and Tobago, managing large Carnival type events.  My aspirations would be to become as well know for amazing work like Preston Bailey and David Tutera. I would one day like to meet them and just sit and have a conversation with them, to gain more inspiration on developing my skills and my company.  I hope to launch off in the next year or two, doing my own thing and bringing dreams to life.

Below is just a taste of my work and the understanding of my project.

Trudy and Travis, their love is sufficient unto love. Travis and Trudy met in the inviting turquoise waters of Tobago. This was an unassuming conversation that turned into courting, then a bundle of joy and then an happily ever after. Travis and Trudy, are a modern day Caribbean couple. They have sophisticated taste but a willingness to have touches and elements, they grew up with. They are fun and flirty!

This wedding will be held on the island where they met, Tobago. It was important to make pilgrimage to the place where their love story began. It only seems fitting. Trudy wanted to make sure that the beach played a part in their union and Travis agreed. The wedding is a sophisticated beach wedding with touches of Trinbago and Guyana. In speaking with them, they wanted their guests to feel welcomed and at home. Therefore Blue (shades of blue) was chosen for their colour. The design of this wedding was keeping in sync with the couple's choices. My design aesthetic is very minimalist and modern, I married the wants and needs of the couple with the current trends for weddings of this style. Recommendations were made with respect to the couple's styling for their special day and this was well received as the couple is a very fashion sensible. Working with this couple was a dream, as Trudy had what she wanted sorted and Travis understood his role, "just say yes hunnie!"

In closing, this wedding event was filled with love and using the A8 formula really assisted me in understanding the elements that goes into making an event a special occasion, not only for weddings but for all types of events. The A8 formula doesn't create events but experiences. Travis and Trudy's wedding was one that was filled with love and intimacy. The couple was very pleased with my work and I am grateful that they gave me the chance to showcase my skills. This journey was one well spent.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Kayla N. Rickner (Bickell), Monday, December 9, 2019
For this assignment, I put together a mood board for an early 30's couple that is planning a Napa Valley wedding. Wanting to blend the sophistication of Italy to the comfort of their California home, I looked for images that paired elegant with familiar. For example, a wine and cheese hors d'oeuvres buffet style, or gold-trimmed wine glasses placed alongside wooden plates.

Project #1 - Eco/Economy Conscious Couple Throw a Guest Focused Wedding

Posted By Ashley Stokes, Friday, November 22, 2019

Hello, All! My name is Ashley Stokes from Albuquerque, New Mexico. A bit about me, even though I prefer to stay behind the scenes. My academic background is in English, more specifically technical writing. My time working for the government truly ignited the little spark I have always had for event management. So, I left my government job to work for myself! The Event Collaborative opened in February of 2017 and here I am trying to sharpen my skills while gaining my certification.

This course has been a pleasant surprise. I thought this may just push me over the edge in info-absorption. Easy to follow material and quizzes that align with the course content has been a pleasure to swim through and compare to my own experience.

In regard to Project 1, my sweet, outdoorsy couple chose an Autumn wedding in a local venue. We went with simple greenery, mostly eucalyptus, with splashes of rich color. In addition to the greenery, we used soft up-lighting for a warm tone/mood throughout the event. Cream linens and lace were also implemented. Hardy fare served buffet style satisfied hungry guests. The night closed with music from a local (shall I say local celebrities of sorts) and dispensing of locally crafted wedding favors. It was a pleasure to focus on the guests AND the local economy with my super eco/economy conscious couple.

Project 1

Posted By Wanda Bryce, Tuesday, November 19, 2019

Hello, My name is Wanda Bryce and I have finally completed my last assignment. I chose to plan a bi-cultural wedding with Jamaican and French connections. Given that I am Jamaican and I am in love with the French culture of romance I thought this was ideal.

This wedding is being held for a bi-racial, bi-cultural, millennial couple. Chris is the Groom, he is a Caucasian French-American and the Bride, Lia, is a black Jamaican woman. The couple met in Brooklyn, New York where they explored and solidified their love for each other. Chris proposed at a mutual friend’s yatch party while docked at the Statue of Liberty on New Year’s Day, January 2019 at 12:01am. The wedding is set to be held at Chris’ childhood country home in France. The décor and design will pay homage to Chris’ culture while the food, music and most of the appreciation tokens will reflect Lia’s Jamaican heritage. The atmosphere will include family members from Jamaica and France enjoying the celebration while getting to know each other and learn the respective cultures.

The wedding planner will use the A8 Formula to illustrate the event. The Bride and Groom’s attire will be fitting for their personality, venue selection and day-of weather conditions. The couple will sport a modern, yet slightly vintage and chic look. The Bride and Groom’s accessories will complement their attire and accentuate the entire look. The couple will wear minimum jewelry but the select pieces will no-doubt be a show stopper. The theme of the wedding will reflect the Bride and Groom’s culture and personality with signature styles such as the Bride’s favorite color, purple/lavender, being the focal theme and a slight inclusion of the New York City life with small décor such as yellow cab, Statue of Liberty ornaments with one of three photo booths being “Brooklyn-Nets” themed. The other two photo booths will be Eiffel Tower themed and Jamaican Sunset Themed. The menu will consist mainly of traditional Jamaican meals such as Jamaican pepper shrimp cocktail, Jamaican escovitch fish and bammy, Jamaican oxtail and steamed vegetables and Jamaican Jerk Chicken and rice and peas being served from a live Jerk Chicken Grill. The drink options will vary between choices such as Jamaican Rum punch and Jamaican Rum cream and an assorted list of French Wines.

Guests will enjoy traditional Jamaican folk dance performance and a traditional French music performance. The DJ will play from a curated playlist consisting of Dancehall, Reggae, 90s R&B Hits and French party music. Guests will leave with numerous tokens of appreciation from French desserts to Jamaican Red Label Win samples. The Cake will be in the shape of the Eiffel Tower but the flavor will be that of Jamaican black cake. A secondary buttercream map of Jamaica cake will be available for those who would prefer something less traditional.

Project Three

Posted By Wanda Bryce, Monday, November 11, 2019

Hello,

My name is Wanda Bryce and thankfully I am just a few weeks away from completing this course. I am so excited to see how I can use the skills I have learned from all theses assignments. This Project three in particular really challenged me to consider the actual day my business will officially launch and I appreciate that. By doing this assignment I had to really put my thinking cap on and think as two in one by playing two roles. I thought as a planner and thought as my ideal client looking to myself to create the perfect event. I had to do some research to solidify my plan and I ended up gaining new knowledge which I find very important in this industry. Overall, like most of the assignments, this project was incredibly time consuming but the feeling of ticking it off my 'TO DO' list as completed was worth it. I have one assignment left and can't wait to complete it as well. God luck to you all, happy wedding and event planning.

CWEP Project 2

Updated: Saturday, October 26, 2019

My Name is Pascale and the name of my company is Enchanted Events. We are a full-service wedding planning business and want to create unique experiences for our clients. This collage is an example of the color scheme that we used in many of our events, soft pastels and lots of floral to get a chic but clean and fresh look.  We can easily customize our designs to reflect the clients’ style and personality and make it memorable for them.  Even though my goal is to purchase my own ranch style/barn venue in Central Florida, we want to cater from rustic to elegant events, my team and I are committed to giving our clients what they are looking for and if possible exceed their expectations.

CWEP Project 1.3

Posted By Lisa Blough, Wednesday, August 7, 2019
Updated: Thursday, August 22, 2019

For my Project 1, I decided to extend myself and go for a wedding theme I have never seen or know much about.  I did a Bohemian theme for a fall wedding in the North Georgia Mountains at a local vineyard.  It was challenging to be creative with a style I'm not as familiar with, but learned so much through the process.

I chose to use a wine colored bridesmaid dress and accent colors to tie in with the vineyards.  When I plan a theme for events I never want to go too over the top with it.  I choose to add it in with the mood and style of the event, but not literally come up with dozens of decorations that are the theme.

I love everything about weddings and am very excited about learning all I can to plan and prepare for clients to have the best possible experience.

Project 1

Posted By Marianne Dzikas, Wednesday, June 5, 2019

My name is Marianne Dzikas, I am currently an assistant manager at a pizzeria in the Bronx. I am looking very much to hopefully starting my own event planning business, this course has truly opened my eyes to new ideas beyond what I thought I could make of myself. My goal is to help create experiences for people. Even though I am an introvert, I do love working with all kinds of people and take great pride in simply making their day better even simply by saying a few kind words. Having worked in a Pizzeria for almost ten years, I have learned to handle many difficult situations and empathize with challenging customers. I never take anything personally, you really never know what another person is going through.

My project's theme was "something blue". I may have threw in too many shades, but the concept I concocted was to reveal the calmness of the color and renowned wedding quote and tradition. I tried to incorporate the "couples" old family traditions with the simple childhood game of corn hole along with a projector that played over later on in the reception of old pictures throughout their lifetime.

Project 3 Complete, Formal Launch of I Do LLC is on the Way!

Posted By Deirdre M. Payne, Friday, May 17, 2019
https://www.facebook.com/will.webb.35175/videos/2176662242608615/

We are excited to announce that plans are in the works for the formal launch of I Do LLC. We are a Wedding and Event Planning business, serving Fredericksburg, Virginia and the surrounding areas. The company's Grand Opening event will be held at Brock’s Riverside Grille, in Fredericksburg, on September 25th, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Brocks is a prime riverfront wedding reception venue. We will have a number of our preferred vendors on-site to showcase their services. There will also be food provided, by a local caterer and baker. I Do LLC will work with the Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank to accept donations and help fill the pantry's shelves, from September to November, when food supplies are at some of their lowest. Brides can enter to win a Wedding Party on Wheels, try out a photo booth, check out some wedding song options with a local DJ and pick up a cool swag bag from area vendors too.

The Grand Opening will be published in Fredericksburg's local newspaper. It will also be mentioned on two local radio stations and through an ad in The Fredericksburg Guidebook, Tourism publication. Finally, we will do a boots on the ground marketing campaign and place a placard on the Olde Skool Tours pedal bike, which is housed outside the Fredericksburg Visitor's Center.

We plan to continue to seek out and meet with local vendors, to build our offers for future brides and event clients. Our aggressive digital and boots on the ground marketing campaign is getting underway and testimonials are flowing in too. The first bridal “what’s next” is on tap, with the one year anniversary of an I Do LLC couple, this September. We are planning a video shoot for the opening of the time capsule that was at their wedding. A Style Shoot is also on tap with one of our preferred photographers and a bride that may be one of our future clients.

You may reach us at idoweddings.eventplanning@gmail.com.

Before starting this course I would never have imagined posting a blog or knowing this much about the wedding industry, in such a short time. I certainly never thought I would be this close to being able to launch my business, formally.  I am thrilled with this knowledge and look forward to putting my me skills to use with future bridal clients of I Do LLC.

Hi there, my name is Joya Wotila and I live in the great state of Texas but originally from the beautiful coastline of Northern California! I have always been involved with events and hosting since I was a child shadowing my mother. This course has opened up different aspects of the industry that I was not fluent in before so I am very appreciative. I especially feel very grateful for my instructor Cheryl Allgood who has demonstrated poise, grace and helpful knowledge all the way through. In Project 2 I get to explain how the way I grew up in a small village church with the events my mother help create gave me such a love for beauty, well displayed food, music and the hearts that enjoyed it all together.

18.6 Assignment

Posted By Constance Gamboa, Wednesday, April 3, 2019

Hello everyone!

I am attending the course at Colin College Plano TX.  I am a Chicago born and raised native relocated to Texas for the desire of more adventures in autumn 2014 and to no longer deal with those wicked winters! LOL

I have to say this was a lot more work than I thought it would be!   I have been a certified travel agent and working in the travel industry for the past 28 years.  I have always had the desire and knack for booking meetings & groups and wanted to add the additional certification to my resume.  I am not disappointed in the curriculum one bit!  If you can book a wedding you can most assuredly book any type of event.  The details that go into every bit was an eye opener and I could not be more pleased with the outcome of taking this course.

I am very excited to get myself going and branching out into the greater hospitality field of event planning.  My quote is and always be "life's a dream, make it eventful"
