CWEP Project 3 Mood Board

Posted By Yessenia Jarvey, 12 hours ago

Hello Beautiful Planners!

My name is Yessenia from Great Falls, MT and I am hosting the Grand Opening of " All You Need is Love" Wedding and Events. For my grand opening I went with a semi-formal chic theme. The color scheme is black and silver with gold accents. I thought this would be a classy yet elegant way to show case my event. I can honestly say this has been such a fun yet knowledgeable experience. I went into this course completely un aware of what a wedding planner was. All I knew is I loved planning, helping others, designing and of course weddings. Now that I am at the end of this course I feel more confident and thrilled about this field.

When creating my grand opening I wanted a theme that all people can relate and feel welcomed to. Sticking with the classic black and silver theme allowed the guests to have a variety of ideas for attire. Along with the classic black attire I choose a apatite that was classic. A simple yet delicious plate of spaghetti with wine. I wanted the event to feel classy yet elegant. When it came to amusement I thought, what better way to have a classical spaghetti dinner then with a small band. Sense this was an event for the community to enjoy I thought having part of the community orchestra apart of the event would be a great touch.

Lastly, as for philanthropy I wanted the event to contribute to our local Animal Shelter. Animals are near and dear to my heart therefore I wanted to add something meaningful to me towards the event. I had so much fun with this assignment and I cant wait to fulfill my career of Wedding Planning. Thank you to Lovegevity for providing this course to help me achieve my dreams!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Angelina Guagliardo, Sunday, January 19, 2020

Hello, my name is Angelina and I am from Chicago. I went to Loyola University for business, then proceeded to go to Kendall College for my culinary degree. I am currently working as a catering coordinator, and plan menus/coordinate staff for different types of events from birthday parties, graduations, to even weddings.

I have been catering events for about seven years now, and recently decided that I wanted to expand my planning knowledge and experience, and that was when I decided to sign up for this course. My future goal for myself after this course will be to make a career change, particularly in the wedding/event planning field. The only experience I have in the field is catering these events, which like I did with this project, involves a lot of planning and working with other vendors.

While I was working on this project some of it came easy to me, but I had to use a lot of what I learned in the chapters as well. I am very proud of what I put into the project, and put a lot of my own personality in it. The wedding I planned is a Fall/Halloween affair and will be taking place in October, and it will have an elegant Gothic vibe. The menu will be full of Fall flavors, from the first course to the dessert table. The color scheme will be on the darker side, the bridesmaids and groomsmen will be wearing maroon and black. Any guests that walk into not only the venue, but ceremony, will see a Till’ Death Do Us Part theme throughout.

SWED chapter I assignment

My perfect wedding would be in a very different environment than the environment in which I grew up. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, my closest friends reside there like many of my relatives. I would love to offer to them a new and beautiful experience.

I would love to celebrate my wedding in the winter, looking for details to make it happens was an  amazing learning experience.

CWEP Project 1.3 - Mood Board

Posted By Mary E. Tindle (Green), Saturday, January 18, 2020
Updated: 12 hours ago

Hi everyone, my name is Mary Tindle and I live in Katy, Texas, a part of the greater Houston area. For the last 20 years I have enjoyed a career in the oil and gas industry in which I started right out of college as a low-level drafter and worked my way up to Design Supervisor running the drafting group. I was able to accomplish this due to my leadership skills and ability to adapt to ever changing requirements and time schedules while maintaining deadlines and satisfying the client. However, the oil and gas industry is unpredictable with more and more jobs going overseas, so now is a great time to change careers to something that I am very passionate about, wedding and event planning. My ultimate goal is to have my own wedding and event planning business, with a flair for unique, themed, and eccentric events. Being in the Houston area and close to cities like San Antonio and Austin, there are lots of possibilities for large events that I would love to plan.

While I have no professional experience in event planning, I have planned several parties and events such as my own vow renewal ceremony that was extremely well received. I have planned baby showers and parties for friends and family. I put together a Halloween extravaganza a few years back, which included a haunted house that I designed and built. Our house was voted #1 decorated house in our subdivision and years later, people still ask if we are doing it again and have even offered to help with set up. I love to use my creativity to plan, organize, coordinate, and decorate any event and party possible from conception through execution. I can accomplish this by using my extensive design and leadership skills that I've developed over the years.

I chose to attend the Certified Master Wedding and Events course through Texas A&M. I am loving every minute of it so far. To see my visions take on a definition of their own is such a delight for me. I have a huge imagination with an enormous amount of creativity that has been aching to get out. For me, the sky is the limit. I can catalyze anyone’s vision and make their dream event come true. Once I get started, there is no stopping me.

For project 1, My couple is Hannah Davis and Alex Baker and this is their story:

Hannah and Alex met through a mutual friend at work. In their spare time, they immerse themselves in a world full of fantasy and adventure. Their quirky personalities and lighthearted approach to life are a perfect match. As avid adventurers, they are often inspired by Steampunk designs rooted in the 19th century culture where fantasy meets futuristic fashion, style and art characterized by the industrial revolution. They have requested a “Vintage Victorian Steampunk” inspired wedding experience. They're wedding is planned for June 14th, 2021 which is recognized as International Steampunk Day.

The couple both love vibrant shades of berry and lavender complimented with green and gold. Beautiful bouquets and tablescapes filled with floral combinations of burgundy calla lilies, dark red roses, hypericum berries and natural foliage accented with golden gadgets and gears paired with the natural glow of soft vintage lighting make for a very dreamy atmosphere.

CWEP Mood Board

Posted By Alia Griffin, Friday, January 17, 2020
Updated: Friday, January 17, 2020

Hello all :)

My name is Alia. I am a Southern California native more specifically from the San Gabriel Valley area. I have my bachelors degree in Psychology and my most recent experience includes being a Social Worker in Los Angeles County. I ventured into this program because I wanted to combine my passion for working with people, my organization skills and my natural desire to bring people together for an event into a career. For my mood board, I chose to do a Woodland themed wedding. The fictitious bride and groom for this wedding bonded over their enjoyment for adventure and outdoor activities. The rustic elements and simplistic nature of the design speaks to the brides personal style however it adds a touch of romance

My name is Anita,  I live in Southern California and have lived here all of my life.  I have ventured into this career as I have always loved decorating, planning and organizing our family and friend parties. I have chosen to do my Mood Board on a Spring wedding here in California.  I hope that you find the board pleasing to you.

I did have a hard time trying to understand Canva and still not completely comfortable with the site.  I would have liked to have chose a better layout to better showcase the actual board.

CWEP Assignment #1.3 - Creating a Pinterest Account

Posted By Shanna Parrott, Thursday, January 16, 2020

Original Post URL:  https://www.lovegevity.university/blogpost/1835332/SP-s-Assignments-and-Projects

Hello Everyone :)

My name is Shanna I’ve lived most of my life in Florida and have currently lived in Jacksonville, FL for 15 years. I’ve been and Administrative Assistant a.k.a. Secretary for almost 30 years. I’ve spent most of my career working for big companies University of Florida, VyStar Credit Union, Winn Dixie and now CSX. I’ve planned many different events while working for these companies such as visitor luncheons, holiday parties/potlucks, team member building events at outside venues, executive conference (400 attendees) at on-site campus with in-house vendors and assisted with a few friend’s weddings.

As a new student trying to open her own Wedding & Event Planning business from the ground up my biggest challenge is finding clients. I’m hoping once I begin doing internships it will open the door for me to start meeting brides-to-be.

Since I currently do not have a business my fictitious couple is John Smith and Jennifer Polly. John & Jennifer are both in the US Navy, which is where they first met. Jennifer worked weekends at the commissary on base at NAS JAX. The first time John saw Jennifer in her apron it was love at first sight. John proposed to Jennifer at Christmas 2019. Since both are not sure if they will be transferred again in the near future they want to get married in September 2020, so they will be transferred together.

Due that Jennifer and John are both in the Navy they will focus the theme of their wedding on it. So, the couple has picked out Peach, Navy & Gold to be their wedding colors, which you’ll find out throughout the event (i.e., wedding invitations, linens, cake, party favors, etc.

Look for more details coming soon in my Project #1 – Plan a Social Event or Wedding blog.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Manny Mandapat, Monday, January 13, 2020

Hi Everyone - My name is Manny Mandapat and I live in the San Francisco/Bay Area (California). With a Masters in Business & Public Administration and a Bachelors in Public Administration, my background is in government accounting, analysis, budgeting, and management. Currently, I work for the City & County of San Francisco as an Operations Supervisor. Ever since I was young, I always had the knack of planning events, especially the design side of it. In fact, I was chosen to design the event space where our department held its annual holiday party, which turned out to be a success. I hope to utilize my creativity, work experience, and skills not only to open my own business one day, but to also inspire others. I strongly believe this industry is evolving, and I want to be a part of it.

This is my first week at Lovegevity. I am excited to learn new things and do the class projects. With the proper guidance and self-motivation, I hope I can do well in the program. In doing this first project, I recognize how important it is to be detailed in choosing a design/image. It has to tie in together.

For my mood board, I decided on a "Rustic Winter" wedding theme. I decided to choose Winter since it is the current season. I then added the rustic theme as I do enjoy the design and elements that come with it. When I think of a "Rustic Winter" wedding, I visualize candles, wood, lights, snow, pines/cones, etc. Overall, the theme/mood gives a sense of warmth and simplicity.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Courtney M. Lussier, Monday, January 13, 2020
For this first project I choose a winter themed wedding. After reviewing the first section of this course, it mentioned not many brides find January to be a favorable time to get married. Although, getting married in a colder month rather an a peak season month, you have some perks such as cheaper rates and amazing snow covered photos! Winter weddings have always peaked my interest and I feel as they are the most flexible for design as you can throw in some pops of Spring/Summer colors without losing the cozy winter feeling. The mood board I created is for the elegant but simple, winter bride.

CWEP Project 1.3

Posted By Raquel Campbell, Sunday, January 12, 2020
For my mood board assignment, I choose to present a simple wedding with a defined color scheme. The bridesmaids are wearing different colors that all compliment each other, while highlighting the overall theme of the wedding. The flower décor, favor table, and cake, follow suit. With an evening backdrop in the woods, an exit with sparklers would be a great way to end the reception. The colors I chose were a variation of greens, blues, pinks, and white.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Madi Pavel, Friday, January 10, 2020
Hi I'm Madi! I'm from Minnesota and I'm currently studying education. I'm studying to become a teacher, but for many years now I have had an interest in wedding planning so I decided I needed to learn more and see if this is something I should pursue. I have always been a planner and I hope to be able to use these skills as a wedding planner someday. So far, this class has been very interesting, fun and eye opening for me. I had little knowledge coming into it so it has been amazing to learn all of the ins and outs. It has also been difficult having to learn everything at once, but it's giving me the full picture. The wedding I planned is simple but romantic with the main color theme being greenery and white. The other colors are blue and mauve. They want the ceremony to be at a garden venue and the reception to be at an indoor venue. I have found that you learn a lot along the way as you research and problem-solve.

Project #1

Posted By Chrystal Stroman, Tuesday, January 7, 2020

Hello my name is Chrystal Stroman and I am from Harlem, New York. I have a degree in Human Services with a concentration in Mental Health. I work in hospitality and love interacting with people and making sure they are having a good time. From a young age I always had a knack for decorating and being able to take the simplest things and transforming them into something beautiful and sophisticated. Currently I am the go to person for all my friends and family when it comes to events big and small.

Along with being a professional event planner I will like to also like to be a party rental supplier, from small things like table decor to larger items like table, chairs, and tents. This is my last week at Longevity and it has truly been a hate love relationship. I hated doing the two weddings I have done and realized through this course that weddings are probably the only events I would stray away from. I love my instructor and how she made each obstacle I face more approachable. I love how I was taught the admin side of the business like pricing, contracts, vendor relations and everything else that gets lost when planning an event.

For my mood board I decided on a “Pretty In Pink” summer wedding theme. I visualized nice weather, lots of flowers and a course hints of pink tied into every aspect from the decor to the wedding cake.

I am Yolanda Gaston. I live in Miami.I have seen my mom in the event planning industry for years now. My plan is to be one of the best wedding and event planner in Miami and expand my mom's business.

I learn how to use different tools by taking this course. I used pinterest and Canva to create my mood boards needed for that project.

I plan a spring wedding for a couple. They decided to have their wedding in spring because the bride was born in spring. 29 is a special number for  the couple, therefore, Yoly and Momo are getting married on Yoly's 26th birthday; which is going to be on March 29th.

Project 1: Plan a Social Event or Wedding

Posted By Kimberly A. Gainey, Sunday, December 29, 2019

My name is  Kimberly Gainey and reside in North Carolina. I am currently a Branch Manager in the financial industry. I am looking forward to building my business as a wedding and event planner. I enjoyed providing support and advice to family, friends, coworkers and church members as they looked forward to their special occasions. I am now building my foundation to be able to provide advice, support, manage and execute my services as a professional wedding and event planner.

This course has provided me with tools and resources that opened my eyes to the intricate details that leads to a successful professional planner. Being able to complete this course online offered me the option to continue my full-time employment and learn new organizational and technical skills. Time management was probably my biggest hurdle.

In this project I am introducing a beautiful couple as they prepare for their joyous day. Ann and Efrin began their journey as friends as technicians at PCA International. Both of them have 2 children from previous relationships. They supported each other through career changes. Ann pursed the financial industry as well as her Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. Efrin pursed the service industry and open a transportation service. Efrin was previously a basketball coach for middle and high school students. Ann enjoyed ballet and pole dancing as a means of fitness.

The couple selected to have their wedding in the fall. They chose October to honor Ann’s mother’s birthday, which was in the same month. The color scheme is marsala, medium grey and white. Their wedding is simple and elegant with bold statement pieces such as Ann wearing ballet slippers and Erin’s attire will be a soft linen. The décor is filled with soft florals and elegant glass designs. The most important party of this day for Ann and Efrin is celebrating with family and special guests. There are a few surprises incorporated; hint: ballet slippers; and a signature family dance. The buffet dinner is a few of the couple’s favorites such as spinach stuffed salmon and Greek salad. The couple was able to save quite a bit on their wedding through gifts from family such as Ann’s cousin, the DJ providing his services for free as a wedding gift. I am so honored and humbled to support and participate in this loving celebration.

Project 1: Plan a Social Event or Wedding

Posted By Eboni Davis, Saturday, December 28, 2019

My name is Eboni Davis. I am 31 years old and live in Chicago, IL. I have been planning and hosting events for about 4 years and finally decided last year in June to start my own business J.N.E. LLC. My sorority sister and now event planning mentor told me to that this course because of how much it helped her in her Wedding Planning business. My goal of investing in this course is to give me a broader insight and understanding of the industry to help grow and promote by business. Until my business grows into a full time income for now I am in the US Army Reserves and work full time at a military academy.

So far the course has enlightened me on so many things regarding the wedding and event planning business. I was shocked to find out that this business would even need to use CAD design. There is so much more than many people believe of just hanging decorations. This project came right at a convenient time for me because I am in the process of planning a social event, a 50th birthday celebration. I will be presenting this entire project to my client for approval in moving forward with their event.

My project is a for a 50th birthday celebration. The theme was derived from asking questions from a client questionnaire to find out the clients interests. From finding out detailed information about the client. I feel this will truly be a custom event that will be enjoyed by all. Through personal connections I have already fostered over the years. I have an ample selection of vendors needed to carry out this event exceptionally.

Project 1: Mood Board

Posted By Gabrielle Carter, Wednesday, December 25, 2019

I’m Gabrielle. I graduated from Radford University with a B.S. in Design Management with minors in Business Management, Entrepreneurship, and Marketing. I have a passion for traveling, fashion, and event design. I decided to take the CWEP course to have better knowledge of event planning and design and prepare myself to start my own business and brand.

Project 1 – Mood Board

This bride and groom grew up together and share passion for food, travel, and adventure. For ceremony the couple wanted a romantic and sultry style. Weathered buildings, greenery, and falls deep colors are inspiration for this ceremony and reception. To add a personal touch, at the reception the guest will go home with little favors that express some of the bride and grooms’ favorite drinks and treats.

History of Bridal Fashion Final Projects

Posted By Sarah D. Steiger, Monday, December 23, 2019

Hi my name is Sarah. I'm from Medford, Oregon. I currently do daycare with my mother in law out of my home. I am also starting school for Esthetics in January. I'm hoping to incorporate the things I learn into my bridal/wedding planning packages. I actually had a hard time getting through this course and assignment honestly. I'm not a very big history fan so it took a bit for me to get into and enjoy it.

This is my final project for HBF. I  presented an inspired 25th anniversary party and a themed charity event. My favorites were the Roman and Medieval/Renaissance times so those are the ideas that I used. I have added my mood boards for both :)

Grand Opening- Unforgettable Events

Posted By Chandler Payne, Friday, December 20, 2019

Please allow me to introduce myself, my name is Chandler Payne and I was born and raised in beautiful San Diego, California. I am a Certified Wedding and Event Coordinator which simply means I’ve taken classes to improve my skills in the industry. I started event planning because I always found myself trying to organize and manage parties that I was attending rather than just being a guest. I wanted to be in control of the happenings because I felt like I could organize them better and make sure that everyone had a great time.

The mission for my company is to create unforgettable events with ease. I provide my clients with the best possible service by surrounding myself with reputable vendors and teams that I trust. No detail will be left unturned and my clients will enjoy their events with a smile on their face and never know any "disasters" happen because my team will take care of them quickly and quietly.

My background in musical theatre management and being an event planner for a middle school gives me an edge even though I am new to the wedding planning scene. These backgrounds have provided me extra skills in staying in budget for large scale events while still having a “wow” factor.

I look forward to planning your Unforgettable Event!

Project 2

Posted By Shannon Davidson, Friday, December 20, 2019

Hello, my name is Shannon Davidson and I’ve always had a niche for photography and event planning. I currently am working with Mosaic Catering and Events, which also happens to be Richmond, Virginia’s #1 catering service this year and for the past few years. My experience in the course has been great so far and I feel like I learned about so much important little rules and guidelines that I wouldn’t have known anywhere else. There are also so many resources to help along the way.

For my project, I decided to take advantage of my photography skills and offer both services, and cross-service packages. I have also learned how important it is to build and maintain a brand so, I thought offering multiple services(and more to come in the future) would help with that.
