CWEP Project 1

Posted By Kim Renzi, 21 hours ago
For this project, I outlined the wedding of Travis & Jenny in the form of a PowerPoint. I showcased the vendors used, their timeline, along with pricing and packages. I also identified all aspects of the wedding using the A8 Formula!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Kayla N. Rickner (Bickell), Monday, December 9, 2019
For this assignment, I put together a mood board for an early 30's couple that is planning a Napa Valley wedding. Wanting to blend the sophistication of Italy to the comfort of their California home, I looked for images that paired elegant with familiar. For example, a wine and cheese hors d'oeuvres buffet style, or gold-trimmed wine glasses placed alongside wooden plates.

Project 3

Posted By Vanessa Cowles, Sunday, December 8, 2019

Vanessa Cowles will be launching an event design house in Richmond, Va on June 28, 2020. She recently completed an event planning certification from LWPI at VCU. This will event will cater to both vendors and guests in search of event design help. During the event La Bella team and Vanessa will work the room to provide guests with questionnaires and to engage vendors interested in building relationships and curating preferred vendor lists.

The grand opening will allow all guests to intimately know what drives the business, our connection to the community and commitment to creativity and event perfection. We don't just plan and coordinate events, we design based on our clients unique interests. Guests will also see a live portfolio, where there will be small demonstrations of the design process and mock ups of event decor. Light brunch will be served, and there will be a mimosa bar with other light refreshment options for our guests. Girls For a Change spokesperson will be present to share their cause and how the community can be further involved with the organization.

Project 3 was my favorite of them all. I am a major believer in manifesting our goals and this was an exercise on doing just that. I've learned so much during this term. The wealth of information shared by my instructor has been invaluable and my growth in inudustry knowledge is quite measurable. This course has been much more comprehensive than expected. The description just doesn't do it justice. Cant wait to showcase all that I've learned to my future mentors, peers, and clients.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Michelle Zayas, Thursday, December 5, 2019

Hello All, My name is Michelle Zayas, from Newport News, VA or better known as Hampton Roads, VA. I am currently a Registered Nurse and I work in getting patients ready for surgery and help them right after surgery. I love my current career, but I need something to do that doesn't involve sickness. I want to breath in new life experiences and help clients create memories they will cherish for a lifetime. I plan to start event planning part-time and see where it leads me.

I am novice to wedding and event planning. I have only planned my own wedding and helped with family events and some social events. This portion of the coarse has been great, looking up photos and creating a mood board. The Ideas were based on my best friend, who has not had a wedding but married by justice of the peace. We spend so many hours talking about what she would love to have, that in my mind it is already created down to every detail.

For this blog, I am presenting a fall wedding in Virginia. Our weather can very from 70's on the coast to 40's degrees in the mountains. It's an outdoor event from the wedding to the reception. The theme is outdoor rustic. Every detail has a woodsy characteristic with colors of greenery and wheat.

Lesly Reyes to offer wedding and event planning services as part of her professional event planning company. Manassas, VA-May 15, 2020-Lesly Reyes, a certified professional wedding planner to host her grand opening and launch of her business. She will offer engaged couples a thirty-minute complimentary consultation to meet and see how she can assist them in their wedding planning process.

I am in awe with everything I have learned through this course. After all the assignments and projects EventsLVR is born. I did not image when signing up for this course that by the end of it I would have the tools necessary to go out and start my own business. I am thankful for my instructor Ms. Pearlice who has believed in my abilities to be an exceptional and successful wedding planner.

For our grand opening, we want our guest to see, touch, feel and hear what their guest can experience when they allow EventsLVR to plan their event. This is the one moment, the first impression so we had to have all the bells and whistles. We will have cocktails and delicious shot glass foods. Local vendors will be showcasing their talents and we will host a small bridal fashion show. A wine pull will be held and all the proceeds will go towards The Breast Cancer Research Foundation which is very dear to my heart.

Hi I’m Lacey and I’m from Virginia. I currently work from home as well as be a mom to 2 kids. I am getting ready to launch my business, Sugarplum Fairy Events. While my company will mostly be focused on parties and other events I do offer planning packages for weddings as well.
This course has taught me so much. Even though I struggled with the technology part of the project I still managed to get it done. Now I can do things that I couldn’t before that will help me with the launch of my business and my career.
In this project is my basic plan for my company and the different packages I offer along with all the party themes people can choose from as well as create their own. My goal with this company is to make people happy and give back to others and show that with a little bit of magic anything is possible.

My name is Heather Kirby and I'm from Richmond, Virginia. I'm the event coordinator for The Veil Brewing Co. and we would like to add professional wedding planning to the services we offer. I've enjoyed this class; it's very thorough and informative.  I do think the curriculum could be laid out in a more approachable way and spread out more evenly.

Project 1 overview:  Planning a wedding for a couple who met in Vermont and who are getting married in New York City. Their wedding is high end, moody and with specific taste and budget.  Here is their mood board which gives direction towards their preferences for mood, lighting, texture, feel.

CWEP Project 1

For CWEP Project 1, I chose to focus on a jazz wedding theme for a couple who shares the love of music or perhaps one is a musician. We start the anticipation with musical note invitations. As guests arrive they'll find a open instrument case with a sign inviting them to sign the guest book. The atmosphere is created with an instrument centerpiece for the table, music sheet table number placements, and piano plate settings. Entertain guests with a jazz band, enjoy a beautifully decorated jazz theme cake, and send them home with a wonderful treble clef bottle opener favor. Sounds like a wonderful event to me!

Updated: Friday, November 29, 2019

Last project, a step closer to dive into the world of planning and designing weddings and events for future brides, it has been a very exciting class.  I was fortunate to share my experiences with fun classmates and an awesome instructor.  It has been a total different career path for me as my expertise is in finance and have been working in that field for the past twenty years. Along with the organizational skills required to perform my day to day job, I found out that dashboards, excel charts also demanded some type of creativity to deliver something appealing to the audience and captivating enough to keep their attention.

I am looking forward to start my new venture.  My husband and I want to buy a venue, preferably a ranch or barn in Central Florida where we can host diverse functions.  The local that I picked for my grand opening is actually one of the prospects we are looking at, it is huge property, about five acres where we would be able to host events inside and outside.  We are partial to rustic and vintage decor but can accommodate various styles as we aim to please our clientele and bring their vision to life.  We add an elegant, vibrant but yet cozy charm to events while attending to every detail to make your day a memorable one.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Chandler Payne, Tuesday, November 26, 2019

Hello, my name is Chandler and my company is called Unforgettable Events. The idea came for the name came from the song Unforgettable by Nat King Cole. My parents were known for singing the duet version and parties and events and I loved watching them sing together. They made every moment Unforgettable and that's my goal for all events I plan. My brand will likely be a teal color, I'm not sure on design yet. I want something soft and elegant but also instantly recognizable. My favorite color is teal or Tiffany Blue and people have started to know me by the color so I plan to stick to that family of colors and continue on my already known colors.

My target market is weddings of small to medium size with opportunity to grow in the future. I will not have any overhead charges for a building as I will work from home and meet with clients in coffee shops or other available spaces such as venues. My goal for my first year in business is to book at least 5 events and break even. The goal for year five will be to have additional coordinators on payroll and by year ten to have a one-stop shop that allows brides to pick from complete packages including beauty, photo, attire, etc.

I look forward to using parts of this project to assist me as I break into this wonderful industry.

CWEP Project 2: Uniquely You

Posted By Yana Ong, Tuesday, November 26, 2019

Hi everyone,

My name is Yana Ong.
I'm on my last day of CWEP certification class. I'll miss my great instructor, Shamica, and my classmates. Although I might not seem to interact much with them, but we've got to know each other for more than 2 months now.}

It's a very insightful class. I've learnt so much more about wedding planning and wedding industry and what it would take for me to establish an event planning business.
This project specifically allowed me to really think what is my target market and how should I appeal my service business to them.

I'm naming my business "Uniquely You, Event Planning by Yana Ong", based on Frisco, TX. My target market is the Asian American community in DFW metroplex who wishes to display their cultures and heritage backgrounds into the modern American wedding.

I will definitely use the class online resources and watch the videos again and rethink of my marketing strategy & online marketing when it comes time to set up my real business plan.

Project 1 wedding

Posted By Maria Patricia Mendez (Mendez), Monday, November 25, 2019

Hi Everyone! Hope everybody is doing fine. I am Maria Patricia Mendez. I’m from Dominican Republic. I have done a lot of different careers along my 45 years in this life. I had been a lawyer’s assistant intern back in DR as a Law student. When I move to the States, I studied education in Chicago. I got married in 2002 and had my first child in 2005 and decided to be  stay-home-mom for 6 years. In the current moment, I work as a personal stylist at JCrew store in Miami. After doing some events this year I decided and knew I was meant to be in the creative, planning, organizing, event business. I love every detail of this industry. I pray God that my wish to become a successful personalized wedding and event planner will soon come true. Hopefully finding my niche where I can give my knowledge and contribute to all my clientele with the tools for a flowing happy experience. Moreover, I would love to start having 2 weddings and 2 other types of events per month. Crossing fingers and good work and effort from my part.

In this certification course, I’m having so much fun. I am enjoying every aspect of it. I am glad, I decided myself to do it.

Project 1 is becoming a “can’t stop having ideas and work until late” for making my sister's wedding. At the beginning, I thought to do a 50 years old Birthday celebration, but at the end I got astonished by the wedding events.

I decided to do Project 1 on my sister future wedding. A wedding on the beach with minimalist romantic rustic boho ambience. Color themed on soft pink, white, and hints of gold. Elegant but simple. Details, illumination, flowers, photos, memories will be the center (besides the couple) of this intimate event.
