"Advice From Happy Couples, Part 1" by Linda & Charlie Bloom http://https//www.psychologytoday.com/gb/blog/stronger-the-broken-places/201806/advice-happy-couples-part-1

I read a couple of articles written by the Blooms but I found this one to be the most relatable and genuine. Perhaps because most of their information was gathered from a variety of married couples it came across in a more sincere manner.

I believe that this article has some very good tips and would be ideal for any couples married, engaged or otherwise to read. While this speaks specifically about how to keep a 'marriage' happy, these lessons could be applied to any relationship. One of the points mentioned is to "take care of yourself", which I think is such a crucial aspect of a marriage. So often in life things such as spouse, children, job, bills, chores etc. become the focus of your day to day that you forget about YOU. As the old notion goes, you can't make others happy until you are happy yourself so taking the time to focus on yourself and what you need and want to get by is just as important as all those other details of life.

Another great point that the Blooms mention is that there is no such thing as a divorce-proof marriage. I think that this is key for all couples to realise because everyone hears about divorce and thinks, 'oh, that will never happen to us', until it does. This idea goes hand in hand with not taking your partner for granted. Don't ever assume that they will be there no matter what and that your marriage will last forever without putting in the work to maintain this healthy relationship. As we become comfortable in a relationship, we tend to forget about all the little details that act as the glue of a good marriage. Just as the Blooms point out, we should never let these fall to the wayside because they could end up being what causes that 'perfect' marriage to fall apart in the end.

Overall, I think this article brought up several good points regarding relationship advice. It's not enough to simply be in a great marriage, you have to continuously put in the work needed to maintain that everlasting love.

CWEP #2

Posted By Ashley Winkler, Friday, September 21, 2018

Hello! My name is Ashley Winkler and I currently live in the United Kingdom with my husband and 1 year old son. I am originally from Ontario, Canada but have traveled a lot both for teaching jobs and more recently because my husband is in the U.S. Air Force. I became interested in wedding planning after having planned my own wedding a few years ago.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this course so far, although some of the projects and assignments have taken much longer than I originally thought. While this project was not necessarily difficult, I found it did take a long time to piece together. I also appreciated that this project used a variety of the assignments we have previously done.

I found this project to be useful for real world business planning as it allowed us to create templates that we will take with us into our own businesses. I focused mostly on creating a Bridal Package and giving detailed contract descriptions of the services I will offer.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Danielle Satterwhite, Friday, September 21, 2018

Hello! My name is Danielle Satterwhite, and am a new student to Lovegevity University. My passion for planning weddings came when I was 6 years old. My mom would buy me the biggest bridal magazine she could find (which was usually 'Brides'), and their I'd sit tearing different parts of a wedding and gluing it to construction paper making a collage. Over the past ten years I have worked for different companies in every aspect of the wedding you can think of. My true passion is to plan. I'm excited to be a student here at Lovegevity University, and ready to begin my own business doing what I love.

My mood board consist of a wedding I planned in the month of October of 2014. The bride and groom really wanted to take their guests back to a different time. The venue itself had a history of it's own being built in 1928. We stayed with this theme incorporating vintage china, chandeliers, 18 piece band and making sure to use the Estates unique characters as our backdrop! It was truly a romantic October night.

CWEP Project 3

Updated: Thursday, September 20, 2018

The launch of my business/project three:

Hello! This blog is to complete project 3 requirements and announce my business's grand opening (which will actually occur in the future).

In my last project, Project 3, I was instructed to prepare a plan for a grand opening of my business. I did just that with a mood board from pinterest, blueprint or timeline of how the event would go, and I included details that paperwork might have i.e. business cards were drawn out, website pages made, and the like. The website that was made is weddingplannerali.weebly.com, plus I have a facebook page (facebook.com/weddingplannerali) and prepared my Lovegevity profile for long-term blogging and researching. Without having any clients or professional contacts yet, I have not hosted a grand opening, but I can surely use the blueprint that was made. On that note, being that I am still in the journey phase/developing stage, I'll describe my journey with the CWEP course now.

My journey and experience with taking the CWEP course went as follows:

Anxious to start a business in my life right now, I went through CWEP fast. I liked that I could do that first of all. I appreciated the self-study that was adult-life friendly. It was really easy to work with the quizzes and assignments because they all led up to what would be asked ultimately; They were relavent to the project requests. I learned tons about the industry and I know feel like there is somewhere i can always go even after the course, like a one stop shop, which is Lovegevity Institute.

Here is my review that was left on the facebook page (URL: https://www.facebook.com/WeddingPlanningInstitute):

I loved taking the Certified Wedding and Event Planner course with Lovegevity! It made me feel very able and well equipped for my future endeavors in the wedding planning business. No stone was left unturned. The course covered everything. It was very easy to use, as all the assignments lead up to one another. It is well organized and supportive. Loved my experience here.

My next steps in launching my career/goals for future business:

My next/future goal is simply to USE what I've learned and prepped! My clients and encounters will really determine what I CAN do next with my business, so I plan to network and take my education into the places I've been appointed to go! Network and perform service. That is my goal for the future of this business.

Hi! I'm Alexandra. I'm from Chicago, living in Cali now. I would like to be a wedding planner. I think marriage is very important and I enjoy supporting weddings; that's why. My experience with this course has been prosperous. I've learned a lot and fast! So, I've incorporated a lot of this new knowledge into my mood board. It's a Disney theme! Blue and yellow mainly, some pink. Cute, signature attributes to make you think of fairy tales and happily ever after!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Brenda Caster, Monday, September 17, 2018

I have always loved planning anything, however I became interested in wedding and event planning after throwing my parents fiftieth wedding anniversary. The enjoyment that I gained from choosing everything from the venue to the cake to decorations was the incentive I needed to become certified in this career field. It is something that will bring happiness to myself as well as others.

My couple, Kaitlynn and Troy have known each other for two years.  They are a very laid back couple who enjoy spending time with each other doing whatever the day brings.  They have decided on a rustic chic wedding and reception.  It will be an intimate event involving close friends and family.

Wedding Planning Proposal

Posted By Diane Rogers, Sunday, September 16, 2018

Hi Lovegevity!

I am Diane Rogers, currently residing in Atlanta, Georgia. I am elated to be coming to a close in this course...not because I dreaded the course, but because I will have proven myself to be able to complete whatever I set out to!  And for me, sometimes I found it a challenge to complete major tasks that I would set out to do. Starting a project was always easy for me, but the challenge was staying the course of the race. For this I am most grateful for this course.

My mood board presented here is a snap shot of the inspirations used to create my proposal for my bride and groom.  This inspirations demonstrate vibrant worksheets, a welcome and thank you letter, a view of rental items offered as another part of the services offered here at Elaborate Expressions &Events. It includes a welcome gift kit, some EEE branded merchandise (mouse pad) amongst so much more! It provides a copy of the basic packages offered for their special event, marriage license requirements as well as a complete outline of everything that must be taken care of in order for their special day to go off without a hitch.

A great proposal is a Must Have when presenting your business to a potential client (s). Its your first impression you get to show your abilities to take their Special event to a higher level than expected. It's the first chance you get to demonstrate your organizational skills as well as a quick glimpse of how their event will turn out while in your care.

Enjoy!

Elaborate Expressions & Events Grand Opening...Partying with A Purpose!

Posted By Diane Rogers, Sunday, September 16, 2018
Updated: Sunday, September 16, 2018

Hi Fellow Planners & Professionals!

I am Diane Rogers coming in to share another fun post of my Grand Opening Mood Board.  Thus far this course has been such a delight. Its been the challenge I've been needing for some time now and although I've had just that, I must say that this journey has given me self gratification and a reminder that I can do anything I put my mind to!  This mood board presented doesn't do the actual assignment justice for the board was just not big enough to capture all the details that went into the actual project!

My mood board is entitled Elaborate Expressions & Events Grand Opening....Partying with A Purpose.  Our grand opening will be an event to remember. The Press Release and Invitations went out to the entire city of businesses and some local officials. The beautiful Magenta, Black and White color scheme will set the tone for the evening. So that we are easily recognized by our guests, the staff will be dressed in our vibrant branding colors of magenta with black and white as well.  There will be a variety of both light and heavy hors d'oeuvres, wines and champagnes  served to suit the pallets of all. There will be a live band, dancing, gifts and door prizes for registered newsletter entrants and donors to our Atlanta Mission cause. The guests will be able to mingle and walk the beautiful grounds of the venue filled with magenta cocktail tables, wine bars, food stations, and beautiful white lounge furniture all while networking making new connections and making their contributions to the cause.

There will be gifts, giveaways and lots of Elaborate Expressions & Events paraphernalia  on coffee mugs, t-shirts, key chains, tote bags, notepads to go around for everyone!

Take a peek!

CEWP Project 1

Posted By Amber Banks, Saturday, September 15, 2018
Updated: Saturday, September 15, 2018

My name is Amber and I am a true Chicagoan – born and raised.  My passion for creating events began at a young age. My mother and I were always responsible for creating social events for family and friends, and we enjoyed using our creativity and passion for hospitality to celebrate with loved ones.

Due to my interest in events, I searched for full time opportunities within the hospitality industry, shortly after I graduated from college. Unfortunately, I was unable to land a position in the field, however, that didn't stop me.  Eventually, after months of research, I was presented with an internship at one of the most beautiful venues in Chicago for the 2014 wedding season.  I worked as a Catering Sales Intern where I was responsible for ensuring that wedding ceremonies and receptions ran smoothly and efficiently.  Shortly after my internship concluded, I was confident that I wanted to pursue a full time position within the wedding and event industry, which is why I am excited for this course.

My inspiration behind this collage is a beach themed wedding that is chic, tropical, and filled with palm trees. I was delighted to create this mood board, because I was excited to see if a wedding could still look glamorous without many flowers.

The décor is quite simple.  I did not want to include too many flowers, as I am highlighting the beauty of the beaches’ most popular plant – the palm tree!

Additionally, the subtle touches of blush compliment the greenery, while also setting a romantic tone.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Charveline Xavier, Tuesday, September 11, 2018
Hi I’m Charveline, you can call me Chevy. As a child I was always busy drawing designs and planning my own future dream wedding, I had so many ideas but as I got older I put those ideas on the back-burner. Now at 28 l‘m ready to pursue my one true passion: Becoming a Wedding/Event Planner

My lovely couple met via a dating app, they were both skeptical about it but 4 years later they would be well on their way to tying the knot. They shared a mutual love of each other’s West Indian cultures. The groom being of Cuban decent and the bride of Haitian decent. As a couple, they traveled to Haiti once for a mini vacation but where never able to travel to Cuba to experience the grooms’ culture first hand, but it remains a travel dream for them.

Both the bride and groom have selected the colors: Black, Off-White & Rose Gold. The color rose gold will pay homage to their parents, who’s weddings included pink and gold respectively. They both wanted the ceremony to have a classic feel to it and the reception would carry their love of their respectful island cultures.

For the ceremony, the bride will dazzle in an off-white, ruffled, A-Line gown with a lace bodice and sweetheart neckline. Her dress will be paired with peach colored, peep toe pumps and all white rose bouquet with rhinestone details. The groom is sure to turn heads in a beautiful black and off-white tuxedo. He will pair his outfit with a white calla lily boutonniere and a pair of black suede loafers. As for the bridesmaids they’ll make their way down the aisle in a form fitting, jewel neckline rose gold, floor length dress. The Groomsmen will wear similar black suits with white dress shirts, complimenting the groom.

Project 1 was amazing because I could create something really interesting. I could create a collage that presets a glamorous wedding, which I'd like to definitely plan one day. Presented pictures were picked from some different weddings and are my inspiration.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Kathryn jackson, Sunday, September 9, 2018

I am planning a small, romantic, rustic wedding on the out skirts of the DFW metropolis for my two dear friends Luke and Sarah. I could not have been more excited to receive this project and really start to brain storm. I chose to use a dusty rose, forest green, cream and dark brown for the color scheme to flow in to the fall season. To tie into the rustic theme I chose to use mason jars and natural woods for most of the decorations so all the flowers and of course the brides white dress stand out on the dark. Please leave feed back on what I can do to improve.

Thanks!

CWEP Project 1

Updated: Saturday, September 8, 2018
I am truly enjoying planning the wedding for Zach and Rachel. They met 5 years ago almost at the end of college through friends in common. Now they both have successful careers and want to celebrate one of the most important days of their lives with a romantic wedding, the coming spring on March 30th, 2018. With lots of nature and flowers for decoration, along with tons of lights to make it more beautiful and intimate; making mauve and greenery the perfect palette for this event. They both grow up in a busy city but for their wedding they want the ceremony and the reception hold at a venue separate from the noise and craziness of the city. They want the place to have a lake for the ceremony and lots of trees in the reception area. Since they both have pretty much the same circle of friends but extensive families the event will hold about 120 guests.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Tara Rutledge, Friday, September 7, 2018

My name is Tara Rutledge, I am currently employed at Victoria's Secret and right now I am taking this course in hopes of becoming a wedding/ event planner, which has been a dream of mine since I was 10.

My experience in taking this course was a unique one, my class was very outgoing and we all got along. Shamica Sweat was a wonderful teacher and we all learned a lot.

For my first project I wanted to do something special, so i decided to plan my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary. They were married in late September just in time for fall, so for the theme I went with a fall theme, classy but still fall. Lots of fall colors, with burgundy flowers and chandeliers. I wanted the event to be memorable so I made a table set of pictures of them through the years, and had everyone write down their favorite memory about the happy couple.

Posted By Tara Rutledge, Friday, September 7, 2018

Hello all! My name is Tara Rutledge I live in McKinney, Texas I am 26 years old and as of right now I am working at Victoria's Secret as I patiently await my certificate. I plan on getting a job and gaining experience before I start my own business.

Taking this course was challenging but a wakeup call at the same time. This is something I have always wanted to do and thought I wasn't t good enough to do so. I was basically afraid of failure. But Now i know I can succeed with the help of my class and teacher Shamica Sweat.

Ever since I can remember I always liked organizing things creating beautiful set ups of couture and elegance. Being a planner will give me that excuse to do it more, and for others to see and have a mind like mine when it comes to creativity.

I look forward to what the future holds when it comes to my career as a wedding and event planner.

CWEP Project 1

Updated: Thursday, September 6, 2018

Hello! My name is Sabrina Mulford. I live in Colorado Springs, CO. I currently work at a spa as a sales associate. I do feel stuck at where I am at career wise, so I decided to make a change. I do have some experience planning my own wedding as well as helping my sister with hers. I have also helped plan some bridal showers and baby showers.

This is my project 1 submission. I have really enjoyed learning about the wedding/event planning business. I did not realize that there was so many components involved in planning a wedding other than actually planning the wedding. I am very excited to continue this course and see what the future holds for me in this career path.

I have the please for planning the wedding for Karen and Zach. They are looking for a rustic style Spring wedding. On May 18, 2019, Karen and Zach will have one of the best days of their lives. They both grew up in a small town and went to high school together. Their first date was their senior prom and have been together ever since. 5 years later, Zach decided he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Giving them the wedding of their dreams has been so much fun. From planning where the venue will be, to planning the best floral arrangements, to planning right down to what bottle of champagne to toast with has really taught me a lot. Not only about planning a wedding, but trying to make the wedding fit the couple perfectly.

Updated: Tuesday, September 4, 2018

Hello, My name is Tanaia. I am from Kalispell, MT. I am currently working as an HR professional in the Healthcare industry. My goal for this course is to set up my own wedding and event planning business. I want to do this to bless people with extravagant parties and to free my self to raise a family.

This is my project 1 submission. So far, I have found the course to be navigable and am already learning so much. I have a natural ability for planning but am pleased with my decision to learn about the wedding industry from professionals prior to starting my business.

I was tasked with creating an idea board for Katy and Levi's wedding. They would like to celebrate with a Boho-Chic wedding featuring lavender and orange colors. They plan to be married September 8, 2019. They want their wedding to be classy but comfortable. They have guests from all walks of life and found each other while on a trip to Europe. Both were going to school for their MBA's and were seeking adventure. Therefore, a Boho-Chic wedding will really speak to their love story, their pasts, and their future.

Posted By Cindy Valerio, Tuesday, September 4, 2018

Hello Everyone, My name is Cindy and my husband is serving in the Navy, we have one toddler and one Yorkshire terrier and we are currently living in Ridgecrest, California which is a small community in the desert area, where shopping malls and everything else is like an hour and a half away that is why I cannot wait for our next order to move to Bremerton, Washington next year.

With that being said, taking this course is so challenging for me because my resources are so far away from our place, plus we are moving soon. One of the reasons why I’m taking this course is because of my previous experience working as an employee on my very first work after I moved here from Manila, Philippines. The bosses are mean and they are embarrassing their employees in front of a group of people and I don't like working in that kind of environment so, I took Cho Phillips advice to fire my boss and be my own boss.

Since I got my Degree in Tourism Management in Manila, Philippines. Organizing Events, Conventions and Local & International Tours has always been a huge part of me because these are my academic field of study.

Taking this Certification for Wedding and Event Planning has broadened my knowledge of becoming an event planner and start to my own business, with this I can showcase my creativity side of fashion and help people with their dream events come to life and also bring back to my chosen charities in every event I will create. I cannot wait for what future holds for me, I am so optimistic with my new career and I am beyond grateful for LWPI for this.

This has been the most fun and I love the experiences this course has given me. Project 1 has been so much fun and also very helpful! It is preparing me to be my best at wedding and event planning!

Project 1 - I was planning for a couple (Megan and Thomas) They are such a lovely couple. They are getting married November 17th, 2018. They are both from the south and want a rustic fall wedding.
Giving them the wedding of their dreams, I poured my heart into something that I knew that they would love. To the color choices to the food. Making it in experience nobody will ever forget.

CWEP PROJECT 1

https://www.pinterest.es/dineck/cwep-project-1/

PROJECT 1:

This project is a collage about ideas of beach weddings. I decided to start with this beause was the first thing that came to my mind, also summer is my favorite season and I've been always dreaming with my wedding at the beach.

I chose photos that shows illumitation efects, lay out ideas, styles and different colors that could be used during the day or night.

I think the perfect colors for this kind of weddings to make it stand out  and look great with the ocean and sand are ivory, aqua, silver, fucsia, purple, orange and yellow, but these colors touches can be so fun, it's easy to get carried away, but is impirtant  limit to just a few  special details to ensure your wedding style remains elevated and looks beautiful in every single moment, is something that we have to suggest to our clients.

I really enjoyed this potject.

Proyecto 1:

My name is Tara Rutledge, I live in McKinney, Texas and before I took this course I was working at Victoria's Secret.

As a professional planner I plan on giving my clients their dream event, from weddings, anniversary, to birthday parties. I have some good ideas and popular theme ideas that I believe will be used-especially for children and potential brides.

In creating this event, my clients wanted a fall chic theme, filled with fall colors, chandeliers, flowers etc. My experience was easy yet stressful, both wanted to agree on the same thing but in the end the husband let the wife get her way.

CWEP #1

Project one took me a little longer to complete because I was so nervous. Once I got started I absolutely fell in love with it! Winter weddings can be so elegant and magical to the couple, there are so many different ways to go about it. All the Christmas lights against the white and snow would reflect beautifully. The dark blue and burgundy add a nice contrast to the "Winter aspect."
