Project 3 Mood Board

Posted By Jennifer McFarling, 5 hours ago
Updated: 2 hours ago

Hello Again,

Here’s about my grand opening:

Jennifer McFarling of Cakes Cocktails and Celebration announces the grand opening of the newest weddings and event planner services in town. Come enjoy food, fun and freebies as you preview all this event planner can do in Celebration, TX on October 20, 2018. Meet with local partner vendors and receive free wedding consultations, and of course, enjoy cake and cocktails while perusing the creative booths put together by the Cakes and Cocktails Celebrations team. The company caters to needs of weddings and special events, providing a truly one of a kind planning experience.

This is all a new experience for me in this course, I loved learning about the planning logistics of wedding and special events. Thus, my favorite part of project three was the A6 details. Planning out a strategy was good for any future business endeavors though. I really relied on my experience working in a boutique marketing firm to form a base plan for things like business assets and marketing plans.

For this the purpose of this project I intend to throw a “mini bridal show” as part of my grand opening. I will have about four vendors that I previously made relationships with represent their services by donating samples to the show and having a table (i.e. bakery has mini cupcakes, DJ plays music at the event, etc). As for representing the business, I will have three booths set up with different wedding designs (for example, a classic romantic wedding experience booth feel). There of course will be a lot of information about the business spread throughout the event space and free consultations.

CWEP Project 1

CWEP Project 1.

Hi everyone, my name is Anna. I am currently a Personal Care Attendant who is pursuing her dream of Event and Wedding Planning.

My Example Client wants a Vintage Spring Wedding. The wedding itself is held indoors, with the option for guests to enjoy the reception out doors depending on the weather. The colors are soft pastels, they are easy on the eyes and draw the in the hearts of the guests. The Tree Of Life in the middle of the room signifies the couples new life together. It stems from the Garden and brings in the couples roots in Christ. As the tree of life signifies our life in Christ, a marrigage signifies the fruit of two people joining thier life as to produce the fruit of life and love as God has shown us by His example for He is the Way the Truth and the Life.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Kaytlyn Shannon, Friday, July 20, 2018
Hi, my name is Kaytlyn Shannon and I just finished my CWEP Project 1. I am from North Carolina and our summers are absolutely beautiful.  For my wedding collage I decided to go with an outside wedding with summertime snacks and lots of floral accents.  I love the idea of the light pinks and blue accents and tried to incorporate that into my designs.  For amusement I thought it would be fun to have the corn hole boards set up for friends and family to enjoy. I had fun designing this and would love to see this in person one day!

CWEP PROJECT 1

Posted By Halie Parsons, Thursday, July 19, 2018

Hello everyone! I'm Halie from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I am currently a 3rd grade teacher pursuing my dream of become a successful event and wedding planner. The main goal I have for myself through this course is to learn as much as I can about operating and achieving a successful wedding and event planning business. I have wanted to be a wedding planner since I was a little girl. The knowledge I gain from this course will only make me a better planner. I have already learned so much just by preparing for this project!!

The wedding that I have chosen to plan is on set in late Fall with very rustic features. Being in Oklahoma, we have a lot of barns we are able to have access to. The colors are a dark burgundy with color accents of orange and yellow. During the fall in Oklahoma is the perfect time to get married as the weather is cooling off and you can enjoy an outdoor wedding. This wedding will be outdoors with a beautiful backdrop of colors and whiskey barrels.

Hello everyone! I loved this project because I was able to portray the blush pink and green colors in the decorations that I would love to see at my own wedding. Lace is the perfect accent with the colors chosen and adding small light fixtures at the table and glass geometric succulent pots added the modern concept to my boho chic wedding. Its always fun to add an organic favor for the guests also with the single potted succulents and cactuses.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Karmen Johnson, Monday, July 16, 2018

Hello All!! Its that time again. As someone already in the industry, you would think Project 2 wouldn't be as helpful or pertinent to me. However, it is the exact opposite. Working on this project has made me realize what areas I could improve/refine in regards to my business.

I've found the desire to revamp my website for something a bit more polished and the need to update my contract for future clients. I've also found the benefit in providing a prospective client with a questionnaire to learn a little bit about them. This shows the client you care, but also fosters in your preparation to help them through the planning process.

I'm so looking forward to how these edits will make a difference in my business!

Project 2

Posted By Debbie Lowe, Monday, July 16, 2018

Hello,

My name is Debbie Lowe.  I thoroughly enjoyed putting Project 2 together.  I look forward to implementing the forms into my own events soon.  I currently work at a wedding venue and have been asked to oversee the weddings that will allow me to promote myself and my new company as I work as venue coordinator.  I also look forward attending wedding shows and local functions.  My desire is to master The Month and Day Of packages.  After I finish this certificate, my next step will be to get a certification in wine and food pairing as an addition to my event business.  Working in catering and at a winery, I see how valuable that added knowledge will benefit me.

Enjoy viewing my project.  I know I have enjoyed looking at a few of yours.

Project 2 Blog Post

Posted By Jennifer McFarling, Monday, July 16, 2018

Hello Again! My name is (still) Jenny J. Event planning is a hobby of mine and maybe someday a side hustle that will turn into a profitable business. I live in Plano with my roommates and little dog, Fitz, and plan my wedding in my spare time. My experience in this course has deepened a bit more into the business knowledge of running an event business. I really enjoyed the planning aspects the most, but like adding my own style to the assignments and other projects. Finally, I am presenting my “mood board”/ style guide for Project 2. Though I may not be able to match colors or fonts exactly, this board will give me a good solid base to go off of.

Hello! Jamie Wilkinson reporting in for Project 2.

This project offered a deeper dive into the business structure and pricing models that will be used to execute the job. This exercise has prepared me for understanding what I need in order to successfully market my services to prospective and existing clients. I am excited by the momentum I feel for getting started with my business.

CWEP Project 1

Updated: Friday, July 13, 2018
Having had an interest in wedding and event planning for years, I was really excited to dive right into this course and had a lot of fun with project one! I learned a lot about the components that go into making a wedding (or any event) a huge success for everybody involved, and had an amusing, albeit difficult, time envisioning an event! My boyfriend and I have just recently started talking marriage details, and although we aren't yet engaged, we're planning out how we want our special day to be. Cool, rustic colors and vibes... Lots of natural plants and materials... Home-made games for our guests to have fun... We want our ceremony to be classic and our reception to be a party-like celebration while also drawing inspiration from our everyday lives, like my succulent garden or our ability to make a game out of anything! We're both drawn to more rustic styles and nature inspired decor elements, so I feel this board give you a brief glimpse of what our big day might eventually look like!

CWEP PROJECT 1

Posted By Brittni Jeffrey, Monday, July 9, 2018

Hello, I'm Brittni O. Originally from southern California but currently residing in Washington state. I just completed 4 years of service in the United States Navy and now I'm trying to figure out what I want to do with my life :). I took this course to help learn the logistics and marketing skills behind the business.

This course has been a little difficult for me. Trying to figure out how to navigate the online course was not easy. The project I am submitting is Project #1. I've created a website using wix to showcase the wedding.
