CWEP Project 1

"The sun is out the sky is blue, it's beautiful; and so are you..." - Dear Prudence by The Beatles

The theme of this board is Woodland Romance. The woods are magical, as they seem to speak to our history and there's a palpable feeling of coming home to a simpler time. There's a hush that, somehow, without cue, automatically falls upon you when amid the tall timbers in observance of all that remains unseen in those moments... but is profoundly felt. There is an experience in the woods like no other. Just ask the song birds; or your favorite pup. When choosing a destination to wed, call upon the generous opulence of the woods. The morning bells will surely chime.

Hello,

My name is Shirley Ward, and I live in Frisco, Texas. I have owned an advertising company for over 30 years and am looking for what my encore life might look like.  Event planning has always been a passion of mine, so it seemed like a great place to start.

Attached is my Project 1 mood board. This wedding is for a couple who love country, but want an elegant twist to it. The color palette is black, white, grey with touches of burgundy and pink accented with gold. The venue will be a barn and outdoor open-air chapel. Greenery and natural elements will be used in the decor along with brass and glass.

CWEP Project 1 - Canva Mood Board

Updated: Wednesday, February 13, 2019

Hello,

My name is Monica, 26 years old. I am from Miami, Fl.  I am a Retail Manager for a high end jewelry store. Ever since I was a little girl I have always dreamed of planning a weddings, let alone, my own.

I have always known this is what I've wanted to do for so long but just never got around to taking a leap of faith and doing it due to troubles I have had in my life. I have been at my job for 8 years. Loyalty, yes it I  know. Who wants to work retail for the rest of their life? No one. I have been over worked (18 hour days 6 days a week), been away from my family and friends and etc. Unfortunately, it has taken me way to much time to realize I CAN DO THIS.

This is my passion. I want to do something I love so it does not feel like work. I want to make someones special day the best day they will ever have. I would like to take this course and open up my own event design and planning business.

Attached below is Project 1. I wanted to create a wedding that would be full of romance and pure elegance.  I truly believe a wedding should be timeless, you can never go wrong with a neutral color scheme.  Greenery is a key element to adding the perfect touch, it adds a very tasteful touch without over doing it.

Hey my name Cara Kohr, I am from Plano, Texas. I have been in retail since I was 15 and finally realized what I am good at! Party planning. I started planning parties for birthdays and new years when I was turning 22. I had a Luau. Next birthday was a Toga/Greek party. Everything on those parties was very decorated to theme, food was to theme and everyone dressed up accordingly! The next big party I did was a 1920's new years party for going into 2016. I was 24 at that time. I spent so much on that party and over 30 people showed up to my little house. I found so much decor on amazon and ebay. It turned out amazing! I then got engaged at the end of 2016, my wedding was in the spring of 2018, I planned and coordinated my own wedding to the T, the venue coordinator was very impressed with me, I had photos of what the tables should look like so that whoever was putting the table together, would make their life easy. Everything ran so smoothly on set up. The actual wedding I was so sick! My maid of honor had to step in and run everything. I knew after my wedding I needed to do this for real in my life.

For my first project I will be doing what I excel in, a themed party! A story book wedding, where all the tables are different. Each table will be a different book, and each table will have a different chocolate favor that will depict the book theme. There will be a mirror photo booth, that slightly represents something from one of the books. There will also be some signature drinks at the open bar, the drinks will also represent the books. There are traditional colors for the wedding, light blue and lilac, those colors will be in the wedding party and some of the tables if they have a flower arrangement will have those colors but will still represent the book and also the wedding cake.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Carolyn Kenney, Tuesday, February 12, 2019

My name is Carolyn Kenney, but most of my friends and family call me Lexy. I currently live in Carrollton, Texas and work in Flower Mound as a Preschool teacher for 11 beautiful 3 year olds. My dream when I was in high school was to plan events for charities and non-profits. I worked as a event assistant for a social work firm in college and decided that I wanted to pursue more of a career in events than social work. I am not sure if I eventually want to plan weddings, however, I am excited to learn more about the business behind the events to help start my own event business for charities.

I personally love greenery and gardening so I wanted to plan a lovely Spring outdoor wedding with all different shades of greens. The event will be a small intimate gathering with just family and a few friends. The greenery style wedding theme give a very relaxing feel and if very aesthetic and pleasing to the eye.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Sarah B. Siewsankar, Tuesday, February 12, 2019

With enthusiasm and love for weddings, my ventures of becoming a wedding planner lead to Lovegevity! Attached is Project 1, of a couple ultimate big day–their wedding! My expected clients’ perfect day blueprint unfolds unto the mood board capturing the rich dimensions of the theme gold and white of a modern traditional ceremony.

The story of how this couple met isn’t any less magical than their wedding, carded June 2019. In celebration I envisioned details of sparkles, glitters and a welcoming atmosphere; that’s also mystical to their 200 special guests, who would receive intricate gold laser cut invitation cards hinting the type of wedding they will be attending and their time of arrival.

The altar design settings for the elegantly attired bride and groom as well as their bridesmaid and groomsmen, are inspired decor of gold/white drapes arched with white scented flowers/roses; and to the flickering of lit candles even along the aisle to the soft classical music in the air creating that indoor enchanting ambiance for all. The most awaited moment of the ceremony is the exchange of rings by the bride and groom as a blessing of their bond of everlasting love and devotion.

Marvelling the guests to golden lit candelabras with white/green floral centerpiece on their dining tables and similar décor throughout the room add a luxurious feel. The menu preparation of delicious food, drinks/cocktails, deserts/appetizers and the exquisite gold shimmery roses/white wedding cake definitely meant to satisfy their taste buds whilst enjoying entertainment with friends and families. All welcoming guests would be greeted with signature tokens of appreciation for their presence to the couple’s memorable day.

Thank you

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Selene Bermudez, Tuesday, February 12, 2019

Hello

My name is Selene Bermudez. I am originally from Mexico. I reside in Florida. I am currently working as a business analyst for an energy company. I do a lot of research and use PowerPoint and Excel a lot.  Before I left Mexico, I started a Wedding Planning business with one of my cousins. We had a business plan in place and started organizing weddings together. It was a lot of fun, but then I came to Tampa University and met my husband. My best friend and cousin continued the business in Mexico and now I want to start my own here in Florida.

My goal is to have a Wedding Planning business that could offer destination weddings in Mexico.

My experience in the course has been favorable for the most part. I still think that for the online classes a little bit more personal contact and direction would go a long way.

In this project I decided to create a dream wedding taking place in Mexico. It was important for the couple to honor the culture by allowing guests to enjoy the food, the music, the attire and the decorations to make them feel like they were in a truly original Mexican wedding. I hope you enjoy the images!

My name is Raba Nemri, and I'm from Dallas TX. I had big plans to follow my passion; I wanted to do something that I would love so much, it wouldn't even feel like work. Planning the perfect wedding, an absolutely flawless night would be my dream job.  I want to help loved ones and family members celebrate the union of two people in the most wonderful way. A night where memories will be made, a night that people will forever remember and talk about!

Having an outdoor location that could be customized to your personal preferences will make your wedding special and uniquely yours. Outdoors wedding venues give you the changing beauty of nature throughout the year. natural light is soft and elegant. It is unique, the moment a photograph is taken, and it can't be reproduced. Just like your wedding day! Planning such a memorable event is what I seek to provide.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Tracy Alvarez, Tuesday, February 12, 2019

My name is Tracy Alvarez and I have been in sales most of my life.  I have always enjoyed travel, food and throwing parties.  I grew up in Holland, Pa which is about 30 minutes outside of Philadelphia.  Starting in high school and most of my young adult life, I worked in hotels, bars, and restaurants and loved the camaraderie, energy and fast pace of the service industry.  After college, I became a flight attendant for American Airlines which gave me the travel bug and brought me to my second long term hometown, Chicago.  Upon the birth of my first daughter, I started working for a small family owned paper company which enabled me to  work from home.  At this point in my  life, my passion stalled and my interests were put on hold.  However, after the death of my mother in September, I decided to take a leap of faith and start living my life with passion rather than continuing for another 15 years in a company that sucked the joy out of me.  I want to prove to myself and my teenage girls that you can follow your dreams and be successful.  I want to be a shining example to them of exactly what I preach so they can enter adulthood with the confidence to do what they truly want to do.

For my first project, I am hosting a 50 and fabulous birthday party. Over the course of  a weekend this Spring, friends and family will help her celebrate this milestone which includes a whirlwind trip to Chicago for a rejuvenating visit to a spa, some shopping, an amazing dinner at Quartino followed by a night on the town! For this special event, the colors black, silver and gold have been chosen because they represent glamour and power to the birthday "girl".

Hello,

My name is Canisha, I'm from Dallas Texas and I'm excited to share my mood board for CWEP project 1. While I have never planned a wedding in my life, I find this process to be very rewarding as it has opened doors to my creative side. This wedding was created for a lesbian couple who's personalities are very bold and glamourous which is why I chose the different hues of pinks and purples for the color scheme. Leah who is a very successful fashion magazine editor and Ty who is a very polished sous chef both wanted their wedding to be a perfect combination of who they are as a whole. They will have all their closest friends and family in attendance and insisted that there wedding be an event that is as memorable to there guest as will be for them.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Monica Cruz Hernandez, Sunday, February 10, 2019

Hi! My name is Monica Cruz. I'm a teacher. I always love to organize birthday parties, weddings, graduation ceremonies and social activities. As a military spouse, I need to adapt to changes and start new goals. Actually I'm living in England and I haven't work as a teacher during the last years. Since I'm far for family and friends, I noticed they still asking for my opinion or advice to create their events. Now that I have the opportunity to study, I hope to become a Certified Wedding and Event Planner. Eventually, I hope to have my own business.

For this Project 1, I created my first mood board. I wanted to visualize an elegant indoor wedding. I chose blush pink and white with a gold accent. I used soft colors, delicate lighting, and flowers to create a romantic atmosphere.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Darcy Sinsley, Saturday, February 9, 2019

Hello!

My name is Darcy Sinsley.  I'm 2009 Lovegevity graduate.  I did not pursue the business after I graduated because I became a full time mom.  I always love planning events and weddings for my local deaf club, families and hosting parties myself.  I have my own business, Treasured Memories Events that I haven't launched yet.  I planned my daughter's wedding (she helped of course) and I learned so much!  Met a few vendors and they want to develop a business relationship with me and help each other out.  I am currently helping my niece for her upcoming wedding in June.  She is my first "bridezilla".  She's OCD and stresses out very easily so I'm learning how to ease her mind and help relieve stress that she's feeling.  Constantly telling her to lean on me and to let me help.

My mood board is about my daughter's wedding with a few different choices for this project.  Their story is cute.  They met at my parents anniversary party and have been together for 2 years before tying the knot.  They love hiking, being outdoors and camping.  She wanted an outdoor wedding that was simple but elegant.  Small wedding with close friends and family.  Colors she chose are:  burgundy, navy blue with gold accent to represent the clothes they wore at my parents anniversary party.  My daughter wore a burgundy dress with gold shoes while my son in law wore navy blue slacks with a white shirt and gold tie.  This is how they decided their colors and wedded on the date they met.

Posted By Dawn Hayes, Friday, February 8, 2019

Hi everyone. Dawn Hayes here.

I am a 26 year old with a new found passion to plan events. The idea has always danced around in my mind, but i never really knew how to make it a career. In the last couple of years i have worked for a hotel where i would help the event coordinator plan and organize her events. Granted i was only a Bar manager at the time, so i didn't really get the pay that went with the job i was actually doing. I eventually left, and since then i have been dreaming of the day i could plan my own events. My friend actually sent me a link to this course, and for that i am forever grateful.

My mood board inspiration comes from my love of fall.

CWEP Project #1

Posted By Ying Li, Thursday, February 7, 2019

Hi everyone. My name is Ying Li. I am Shanghai, China but I currently reside in Philadelphia, PA. I obtained my Master's degree in Intercultural Communications and then became a Translator at a Law Firm.

My passion for the wedding planning career came from a movie in which I was so amazed by the professional wedding planners who witnessed the happiness of people from all walks of life, and most importantly, contributed to realize their dreams. Thus, my goal as a wedding planner is to provide professional, trusted and customized wedding planning services for my clients and help them create the event of their dreams.

So far, my experience in this course is beyond my expectation. Each section and chapter have led me going through very comprehensive while detailed knowledge and very practical skills for wedding planning. During preparation of the Project #1, I reviewed the knowledge in related chapters before I could use it so my understanding of the knowledge has deepened in my mind. Now I feel more confident to continue my study in the following sections.

For the Project #1, I am working with a young couple who are my friends from college, named Molly and Solo. Both of them love travelingadventures, and sharing their stories along the road with photographs. They expected to have a traveling themed wedding which could show their passion and stories in the past and their expected life style in the future. Thus, in my mood board, I chose green and yellow as the color scheme, and a lot of traveling related elements to engage attendees of the wedding to the couple's dream life.
