CWEP Project 1

Updated: 11 hours ago
I just completed CWEP Project 1, and it was awesome! Since I was young I've had a lot of interest in everything that had to be with the event planning industry. I was always the one in charge of planning the family events which I enjoyed very much. I am happy I made the decision to get my certification and start working on the career of my dreams. In this project, I learned how to make a collage on Canva. Canva was completely new for me. Being able to put your ideas all together in one place makes it so much easier. Can't wait for more assignments like this one. In my mood board I am combining a palette of coral tones, ivory, navy and gold. My idea is a romantic garden afternoon wedding in a beautiful Hacienda in the mountains of Puerto Rico.

Project 1

Posted By Madison M. Bynum, 11 hours ago

Hi everyone, my name is Maddie and I am from Tennessee. I am a school counselor who also has a passion for wedding planning. I would like to be able to do weddings on the side as extra income and during the summer months. I started assisting a planner when I was in high school and found out that I truly enjoy doing it.

My experience in this has been very long.... due to me not being consistent in the course work. But I will persevere and finish! Life just got busy for me. Most of the information I felt like I knew from past experience but I have also gained a lot of knowledge from the business stand point. This project was a lot to do but also satisfying to build a whole plan. It is good practical experience.

Marie has chosen aesthetically pleasing ceremony and reception venues that naturally do not need a lot of decor. With natural greenery and hints of blue and white, it will be perfectly enough without being too much. She has subtle hints of gold and red that fit the time of year. Table decor of flower centerpieces, gold geometric figures, and pictures of the couple are inspired by one of the vendors who made the suggestions of what to use.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Jennifer Manzano, Thursday, June 4, 2020

Aloha Everyone! I am Jenn Manzano and I have always been in the realm of planning and coordinating events whether it be professionally or personally for friends and family. I work for a start up company in the Bay area so finding the time was holding me back from getting certified.

After 4 years of contemplating on taking the course to get certified, I finally clicked the button and enrolled in the online course since it was now available me. Project 2 pushed me to think about and write down the actual details of my "soon to be business", what I would charge, the legal aspects of my services and ultimately image I'd like to portray within my local community.

In my project, I provided information on what might my welcome kit would be to a prospective client and what my business name would be, stationery and theme.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Jennifer Manzano, Thursday, June 4, 2020

Aloha Everyone! My name is Jenn Manzano and I was born and raised on the island of Oahu, HI but currently reside in the San Francisco Bay area. I work for a start up company in silicon valley and in my previous career for 10 years, I professionally organized events for companies in the financial industry as most recently planned and coordinated weddings and other events for family and close friends. My goal is to open a business and take my event planning to the next level.

Beginning this course has definitely allowed me to utilize the resources and follow the process of planning in a written format that is easy to navigate. I found Project 1 to be all too familiar in that I had planned my own wedding except that I needed to find local vendors in the Bay area instead of back home in Hawaii.

In this project, this is a couple that my fiance knows but I do not know about that had eloped and did not have a reception to celebrate with their family and friends. If I were to sell this couple on a redo for their wedding, this is how I would try to woo them over.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Christina Djeredjian, Thursday, June 4, 2020

Hello! My name is Christina Djeredjian and i'm currently in the process of completing "project 2". I have yet to come up with a company name as that has been the most difficult portion of all of this for me. To give you all some background about myself, since I could remember I had always been the friend, family member, and student that would be in charge of organizing and hosting events on behalf of those that I love. I have coordinated many events (baby showers, gender reveals, prom, homecoming, prom/homecoming pre and after party, holiday parties, birthdays, intimate dinners, etc.) and I loved every second of it! While working on "project 2" I used my creative side and built a special and simple packet for my potential clients. I included information about "my companies background" - I used 'Serendipity Events & Design' as the company name for this project! Bridal checklist, marriage license information, services/packages, vendor information, etc. It definitely gave me great hands on experience that I can use towards my future business. It was a fun assignment to work on as I learned how to create a contract not just hand then to my clients (i've been a paralegal for over 4 years) lol.

Updated: Wednesday, June 3, 2020

Hi there! My name is Brittany Samaniego, and my husband and I are currently working on opening a rustic elegant style venue for all weddings, parties, and lifes celebrations! Event planning has always been a passion of mine, and after we sold our business of 18 years we decided to give it a go!

We currently live on about 75 acres in the Texas hill country in a barndominium that we will be turning into the venue. We've already hosted multiple large events here and plan to improve on that. As an add on bonus I will offer my services as a wedding/event planner and coordinator to help make our clients day as special and magical as possible!

CWEP Project 3

Posted By Sara Jongeneel, Wednesday, June 3, 2020

SaraYoung Weddings & Events is officially in business, bringing fresh creativity to the Eastern Shores of Maryland. You are invited to its grand opening, held 4:00-6:00 pm Friday, Oct. 2, 2020 at the Annapolis Maritime Museum. Not only does SaraYoung Weddings & Events offer full-service wedding planning and coordination, but also provides floral design services — two services for the price of one. The night's theme is "Starry Night" and is intended for local vendors in the Maryland/Virginia/D.C. areas and prospective couples looking for their perfect wedding planning team!

My experience in Lovegevity's course confirmed my passion for planning weddings and my aspiration to be a part of such a beautiful industry. Throughout the course, I have learned about various topics that are important to know as a wedding planner from the history of weddings to color palettes and day-of timelines to cultural interpretations of engagements and celebrations. Not only that, but I enjoyed reading about how to build (and grow) a successful business as a wedding planner. Prior to the course, I had no idea how to run a business, and the course has definitely eased my anxieties!

As I began organizing project 3, I became excited over what the future holds for me and my business. Planning the grand opening helped me see the possibilities of becoming a business owner and getting started with promoting and bringing in clients. Through project 3, I was able to gather marketing collateral for release to local vendors and think about how I want to brand myself as not only a wedding planner and floral designer, but also a new business owner.

I cannot wait to collaborate with other planners and vendors and get busy working with clients in my dream job! Thank you Lovegevity and the Wedding Planning Institute for helping me achieve my professional goal of becoming a Certified Wedding and Event Planner.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Olivia Porter, Tuesday, June 2, 2020

Wedding planning has always been a huge passion of mine. Which is why after obtaining my minor in event management through UCF and interning with multiple vendors and wedding planners, I have decided to start my own business: Livvy Marie Weddings. My business is based out of Florida but eventually will also be in North Carolina as well. I chose various colors of pink to represent the love and passion that goes into planning each wedding and was a color I felt represented my idea of the industry well.  Through my logos and business marketing, I want to show brides my true passion for wedding planning, as well as the honest and truthful business practices I provide while working with my clients.

This project was very eye opening and helpful in learning how to create contracts and services that compete with the current event industry market. I felt the three packages I came up with fit each bride's style and budget. I also love that I was able to incorporate a way to stay in touch with my brides even after their weddings, by providing an "Ever After" package so brides can utilize my services for future events such as baby showers, gender reveals, and birthday parties.

My target audience is new and local brides, but also those of the LGBT community. My brand is completely inclusive. I will also market to grooms and those looking to propose to their significant others and start the wedding planning process.

I am super excited to finish this project and to hopefully officially launch my business soon!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Cydney Washington, Tuesday, June 2, 2020

Hi! My name is Cydney Washington and I am from Northern Virginia, right outside of Washington DC. I graduated last month with a Bachelors in Tourism and Event Management, so I went to school knowing I wanted to work in the hospitality/events industry. I took a wedding planning course my first year and fell in love. My ultimate dream is to work for Disney's Fairytale Weddings.

The mood board I created is one for an elegant black tie wedding. When I started this project, I wasn't sure what type of wedding to create. Where I live, we have so many wineries, breweries, and farms, and most people get married there. But there is a small amount of black tie formal weddings, so I decided to jump outside of my comfort zone and plan one. Some of the photos are from local venues (Westfields Marriott) and others are found from pinterest or canva.

I hope you enjoy looking at my mood board, and I am open to conversation over my event!

Assignment 18.6 - Blog Contribution

Posted By Biza Bemak, Monday, June 1, 2020
Hello! My name is Biza Bemak. I'm 28 years old and live in Golden, Colroado. I've been a music educator for the last 5 years and decided in March to explore the option of becoming a Certified Wedding and Event Planner. While I love sharing the joy of music with children, nothing makes me feel as fulfilled as helping people celebrate love. I was a Day Of Coordinator for my friend's wedding and could not believe how much I absolutely loved making her day beautiful and stress-free and filled with love. After bursting into tears when watching a stranger find her perfect wedding dress, I realized that weddings and love and celebration and community are my passions. Thus, I began my journey with the Certified Wedding and Event Planner course. I'm still not 100% sure where I see myself when this course is over, especially given the uncertainty of the wedding industry during the Coronavirus pandemic, but I do know that I definitely want to be celebrating love, helping people's dreams come true, and feeling passionate about what I do!

Through adversity, DylADor was birthed and became a reality!

Posted By Heather Bowles, Monday, June 1, 2020
Hi, my name is Heather G. Bowles from Nassau, Bahamas but temporarily residing in Miami, Florida dealing with my son while in hospital. I studied architecture and was working in areas that would get me as close to project coordination as possible. In the interim, I would plan numerous events for close friends and family realizing that this made me passionate. In 2018, I then became my own client when planning my very own wedding from start to finish! I succeeded, was commended by onlookers on the entire day leaving me to question if I was in the right career LOL!

In 2019, I was made redundant and later got pregnant. I was stuck stressed trying to figure out what job would hire me so that I could help get things paid. I was always a self-driven type of person who needed to occupy their mental capacity. I was not good at sitting home doing nothing. My 2nd twin had to be airlifted to Miami and here I found time to just think about my life and career.

In March of 2020, amongst the stress, I started the Lovegevity Certified Wedding & Event Planning course online due to COVID -19.

I have planned, designed and produced many small to mid-sized events in the past, but the decision of making it a lifetime career made me want to expand my knowledge in the industry and learn new things everyday. The Lovegevity program has provided me the necessary tools, structure and reassurance in order to improve my confidence in becoming a Certified Wedding and Event Planner. My awareness of the business and marketing aspects have increased immensely. I have been introduced to efficient software to adequately perform my duties and continue to be professional. It is also made very known and emphasized that remaining one step ahead of the industry in your area, maintaining your brand all while understanding that remaining relatable is one of the many keys to successful businesses! I am excited to see what tomorrow brings once COVID clears a bit. COVID has come to give us all a time out and recoup, reset and revive! All the best to upcoming students!

18.6 - Blog Contribution

Posted By Ella Hook, Friday, May 29, 2020

My name is Ella Hook. I am 23 years old and began my Certified Wedding and Event Planning course in April of this year. I grew up in New York City and have been working in hospitality for the past 4 years. I stumbled into event planning last year, when my manager spontaneously asked me to assist her with a project. At the time I was living in Wellington, New Zealand. At that point my main experience in the industry was working as a server or hostess for fine dining events. My manager asked for my assistance in planning a staff reunion as a part of the 150th anniversary of the Wellington Botanic Garden. I became responsible for communicating with vendors, venue set-up, timeline, bar inventory, and break down. I loved every minute of planning this occasion. Since then I have been looking to become more involved in event planning, whether that be at my job or in my community.

I enrolled in this program with Lovegevity because I needed guidance, structure, and resources in order to improve my understanding of the field. So far, I have become more aware of the business and marketing aspect of the events industry. This is something I had hardly considered prior to taking this course. I think this course has also made it very clear to me the significance of self confidence when building your career. It's also emphasized the importance of being understanding and accommodating to your clients, while maintaining the dignity of your brand. Event planning is a collaboration and I aim to be an approachable and down to earth consultant.

Posted By Galit Yanai, Friday, May 29, 2020

Hello there!

My name is Galit Yanai, I'm 25 years old living in Manhattan, NY.

I started my Online Lovegevity Certified Wedding & Event Planning Master Class course in February this year.

Lovegevity Educational Institute gave me all the basic and extra tools to learn the wedding and event industry, and I would like to thank them for that!

I planned, designed and produced many small and large events in the past, but the decision of making it a lifetime career made me want to expand my knowledge in the industry and learn new techniques everyday. I definitely look forward to expanding my services and knowledge even more.

I'm now more confident in myself, and sure i'm able to perform even better on planning and coordinating events.

Best,

Galit
