When the bride chooses not to be a bridezilla

Posted By Michelle Zayas, Monday, November 25, 2019

Hi All, My name is Michelle and I am from Newport News, VA. I am a registered nurse by trade. However, I needed an outlet, something that does not involve surgery and cancer. So I decided to go out of my element and take this coarse on Wedding and event planning. I am throughly enjoying every aspect. Now the only wedding I have planned was my own and believe me when I say "I wish I had a planner, it couldn't be farther from the truth". I had to shop for the venues, church, car rental, flowers, bride maids gowns, my own gown, tuxedo, and everything else. The only thing I had was time. I took all of 18 months to get the wedding plans right. Had I know now, I would of loved to put it in the budget to have a planner even if it was just for the day. My mom had to be the buffer on the day of as I was not about the drama and didn't feel I needed to be bothered by questions, excuses, or blatant silliness. Poor mom I will need to thank her again for being their for me.

This course had taught me there is always a solution and when all else fails your contract is going to be the best thing to come back to. I have learned so much and feel I have the tools to make it on my own, slowely but dedicated. I chose not be be a bridezilla because I wanted the best for my wedding and to have agreat memories. So I know when dealing with a bridezilla that I am there to listen and help them emotionally like my mom did for me.

Hi Michelle.
I'm Yana and am currently at the end of my Certified Wedding and Event Planning class.

I am glad I have a friend who I can rely on and that I know will do a great job as my "day-of" wedding planner. I enjoyed planning my own wedding so much that I have been feeling I want to be a professional Wedding Planner someday.

I'm glad you realized the amount of efforts that need to go into planning a wedding. Indeed, a professional wedding planner could have saved us so much more time.
