Hi, I'm Kirsten. I am opening my wedding and event planning business, iDo Events. I have always had a niche for organization and planning. I realized my dream job was to be an event planner in high school when I was helping plan my cousin's wedding. Through this course I have learned so much and can't wait to get started in my business. I'm opening my business in Bloomington, IN at the moment with plans to move to the Knoxville area of Tennessee within the next year.I want to focus my business on helping people in any way I can. I want to be flexible with my packages so brides can add or remove services they need for their special day. My goal is to make the wedding planning process as stress free as possible for my clients.
I would like my grand opening to be very welcoming and friendly. The day would be focused on our customers and helping them get their event under way with us. It would be organized as a cocktail hour with a meet and greet. I would have tall circular tables set up with tablecloths and floral centerpieces. I love the “small plates” trend of single serving size appetizers. I would offer various appetizer foods for guests to choose from as well as a champagne bar with fruits, champagne and juices to create your own cocktail. I would set up two displays, one for a wedding and one for a special event. These would serve as an example of decoration ideas for clients to see my work. I would have photos of events I have done presented around the room.
Guests would be asked to enter our drawing to win a bridal emergency kit for the day of their wedding as well as our discount drawing by filling out a contact information sheet and leaving it in our drop box. Guests would also be able to open one small envelope on the wall with each envelope containing a note card with a different prize written on it. Prizes would include gift cards, free services, discounts for services, coupons for other area vendors, small bridal emergency kits and small prizes. Our grand opening would sponsor a raffle drawing with all proceeds going to two local charities, Middle Way House and Susie’s Place to help women and children who are victims of abuse.
Thank you gift bags will be given to each guest, containing our business card, informational brochure, bridal questionnaire, special event questionnaire and a scented candle to remember us by. Guests who sign up at our grand opening event will receive a free initial consultation to learn more about our services for their upcoming event. We want to make sure every guests leaves knowing how much we appreciate their support and knows our mission to help them in any way we can.
