For Project -1, I decided to choose Rustic Amish theme yet add a soft eclectic feel to Stephanie’s and Vikram’s wedding next year on August 12,2020.
The bride Stephanie and the groom Vikram’s childhood had been on a rustic farm where they lived in 2 different parts of the world in a small rustic house and both learned to churn butter, bake bread, and store provisions for winter and lived in .Though they were born and raised in two different parts of the world , Stephanie being born and raised in Oklahoma , United States and Vikram being born and raised in Punjab, India, yet they both shared common ethics and strong family values. Because of their rustic farm background I thought of depicting picturesque rustic scenes as a part of their rustic theme wedding. I decided to use white and orange lilies where white signifies the epitome of beauty, devotion, new beginnings and orange signifies passion
The main color scheme of this wedding is rust, ivory , orange , brick color which would be found not only in the attire of the bridesmaids, flower girls , bride’s gown, grooms’s attire, bride’s bouquet boutonnières, corsages, floral arrangements, arch gate/backdrops but also in the tulle fabric that will be used to drape the walls and ceilings with string lights woven into the drapes. In order to enhance the rustic setting, I thought of using red petals with ivory satin aisle runner. Envisioned the bride walking the aisle on the red petals. To add to the mood of the wedding ceremony, I decided to have 2 band artists playing saxophone and piano in the background as each ceremony progresses. After the final ceremony is over, and as the bride and the groom walk back down the aisle as husband and wife there will be the tossing of rice on a newly married couple. The tossing of rice on a newly married couple symbolizes fertility, both for the couple and their crops.
For the guest tables I decided to use mason jars as the centerpieces with baby breath flowers and LED candles. All the centerpieces on the guest tables will be placed on top of the round wooden logs cut & customized per the table size. There will be a wine cork place card holder on each guest table. The head table would have mason jar settings much bigger in size with elaborate floral arrangements , extra leafy accents and eucalyptus greenery. Lighting on top of the head table will include small round hanging orbs, iron lanterns with soft LED lights and bulbs. The 3-tier wedding cake will stand on a customized round wooden log engraved with the bride’s and groom’s initials, enveloped with baby’s breath and tea candles. The champagne toasting glasses will be monogrammed with the bride’s and the groom’s names along with the wedding month/day/year. Continuing with the rustic setting, I chose unusual containers such as milk pails , crates, reclaimed wood barrels , wooden and chalk sign boards , wooden isle and tin cans to blend with my floral setting. To add a soft eclectic feel to the wedding , I decided on a music band which will play the mix of country, hip hop, swing techno, classical along with the 80’s & 90’s rock. To add to the continuity of the Rustic and Amish theme, I decided to use vintage cars for the bride’s and the groom’s parents arrival, 1939 Rolls Royce for the brides’s and the bridesmaids arrival and a vintage bus for all the guests arrival to the wedding ceremony venue. And after the wedding ceremony is over, the bride and the groom will ride in a horse driven Amish carriage from the wedding ceremony to the reception banquet hall. There will be a bubble and white LED light up balloons send off before the Bride and the Groom hop into their 1959 white Porsche and step on the plane got their cozy honeymoon to Antigua basking in the sun on a beautiful private beach at Coco Bay resort .
