Blog Contribution 18.6 Assignment

Posted By Carmen Rosales, Monday, April 30, 2018

Hello everyone! My name is Carmen Rosales, I am from LA California. I have been working in the legal field for over 10 years and although I don't hate my job, I also don't love it.  I have always felt that I have so much creativity and I'm the first to jump in when it comes to planing any event or party.  I was so happy to find this course, and nowI am almost finished and hope to be a certified wedding and event planner, very shortly!

Through this course, I learned about the strong work ethic needed to be an event planner. I gained so much insight from the material and lectures provided by the instructors. The biggest takeaway for me was realizing what a huge network the wedding and event planning industry is, Im excited to jump in and start my own company.

My hope is to help couples realize the wedding/event of their dreams and to ease the stress of having to worry about throwing an epic party. My other passion in life is traveling (currently uploading from FIJI!!) So, I'd also like to explore joining my two passions and dabble into destination weddings.

Dream Team Productions is a firm believer in giving back to the communities in which it operates, and to this end supports a number of local charities, I'd like to help couples who are less fortunate as well as provide charity work , perhaps in helping plan events at local schools and/or church and community centers.

Hello Carmen,

I am Margaret and I also live in Southern California. I was going to school to be a teacher and about half way through my degree, I had a complete change of heart and wanted to be an event planner! I am also new and had many people tell me there are too many wedding planners in southern California for me to be successful. This course has reassured me that it is possible and I am really looking forward to it! Maybe we can get together and network!

Hi Carmen,
I currently live in Arizona, but at the beginning of next year I will be moving to Southern California. It is nerve wracking for me because I know there are so many wedding planners out there and it will be difficult to compete. I was in school for a communications degree, and halfway through, I wasn't getting anything out of it. I knew I wanted to be a wedding planner, and I thought college was the way to go, but I was on a path to nowhere. Now that I have found this course, it has given me so much confidence! I am so anxious to get out to CA and look for business. How cool would it be if all of us had our own business together!

Just saw your post and enjoyed how relatable it is. I'm so in and out with my job I just want to do something else, meaningful and creative.

Hi Carmen!!

I enjoyed reading your blog post! California is a beautiful state and I spent a lot of time in California as a kid traveling up and down the west coast(I am from Utah so it's a little bit of a drive!).
I hope everything goes smoothly with starting your business!!

I want to do a charity type event to do a "dream wedding" for those that want one but can't afford due to expenses. Vendors coming together to make it happen for the couple selected!
Great post!

Hi Carmen! I like that from this course you learned the importance of strong work ethic. It is definitely a profession that requires self motivation and keeping your website and social media up to date. Preferences and desires are always changing and it is of your best interest to keep up to date with that.
I am like you when it comes to creativity. I always have known that I have the potential to do more than I have done in past jobs. When I came across wedding and event planning, specifically Lovegevity, I felt called to follow my dream and passion! I wish you the best in what is to come for you.
