PROJECT 1: BLOG SUBMISSION

My name is Oleta Reed. I am from Indianapolis, Indiana. Once I obtain my Wedding and Event Planning certification I plan to go into business as a professional event planner. Although I truly enjoy planning most events, I want to service clients who would like help planning events outside of weddings, parties or baby showers. Of course I am not going to turn down any event. However, I want to plan family reunions, expos, community, church or private events. I would also like to explore planning destination weddings.

My experience in the course has allowed me to be better prepared for the wedding and event planning industry. The coarse material was helpful. But, the webpage was very confusing and not user friendly at all. Nonetheless, I believe the course thoroughly covered every aspect of event planning and what it takes to be successful.

The project gave me a blue print of what elements are required in planning an event. I now know that if I use the A8 formula when planning events I will be off to a great start.

3. Give a short intro/overview of the project you are presenting on the blog (1-2 sentences).

The bride and groom are very excited to celebrate in their special day. The stage has been set to have an elegant yet personalized event. When the attendees leave they will know they were at the wedding of Angela and Darnell. The colors are both bride and grooms favorite (gold, red, silver). The bride has chosen to incorporate all of her students from their shared non for profit organization by allowing them to sing a selection at her wedding. The cake is 3 tiered with the flavors being white, chocolate and the grooms favorite at the top (red velvet). There will be a host of family and friends at the event enjoying the couples favorite music (R&B).
