CWEP Project 1 - Rustic French-style wedding

Posted By Marie Orta, 6 hours ago

Bonjour !

My name is Marie. I  am a proud Navy wife and currently live in Norfolk, VA but I am originally from France. After  moving to the United States 3 years ago to live with my Cuban-American husband, I found myself a passion for wedding and event planning. I don't have much experience in that area but I am working on it and intend to use my creativity and inspirations to, one day, open my own business.

My project 1 mood board is inspired by my French origins and culture that I am so proud of and miss so much.  Therefore I created a rustic French-style wedding for my couple, adding shades of lilac/purple  and beige and including a touch  of lavender to give it the romantic and fresh but yet elegant feel they were looking for. I hope you like it !

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Madison Brown, 8 hours ago

For this first project, I chose to center it around an impending vow renewal. the time the event will take place is 7pm in late October. There is a chance it will be chilly, but that will help set the cozy mood since the couple would like to have it outside.

There will be a dance floor with string lights all over the backyard. A small, intimate ceremony with children to grown adults to celebrate life and love on a fall evening. There will be a full meal served after the ceremony and dancing to follow. The guests are all friends or close family, so it keeps the mood light and happy for the couple and family!

flowers will be simple, greenery and babies breath and white roses for the bride bouquet. the colors are white, greenery, and gold tones -  twinkle lights everywhere with a photo area for guests to have fun with and sign the guest book as well.

The total budget for the event is $800 including catering and all vendors.

CWEP - CH18 project

Posted By Madison Brown, 13 hours ago

Hi there! My name is Madison Brown and I am completing this course with the love of planning events! I enjoy being a part of people's special days and love to see the happiness during the happy times in life.

My favorite part of the whole event planning process is the actual event. I could take or leave the actual planning process, but being in the thick of the event is thrilling.

CWEP Project (Revised)

Posted By Cassity M. Glattfelder, 15 hours ago

My name is Cassity Glattfelder and I am from Mauston Wisconsin. Before doing this, I was trying to find a direction in life after being diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis, which makes having a normal eight hour job difficult. As I was planning my own wedding, I grew a deep love for the process and wanted to help other couples achieve the day they have always dreamed of while staying on budget and also enjoying the event with no stress.

I chose the pictures on the mood board that went with my couple, which are classy and elegant. Following the A8 formula, I placed in my project, each aspect of the wedding. Colored black and white to maintain the elegant nature of my case studied couple, this board is the outcome of those ideas.

My goals are to complete this course with flying colors and obtain the certification. While my long term goal is to have my own business where I can help couples with their own weddings, take the stress from them, and help them enjoy their day. So far, I am finding the course to be quite informative as I have learned a lot about different receptions from my online live discussion which I found actually fun, and each chapter of reading is informative without being insanely long. I also like the fact that on the begging of each chapter, that you get to see a wedding video from different couples. This helps gain inspiration as well as a little break from the reading, if it does become too much.

Overall, my project is of an elegant couple who chose my diamond package which consisted of the outcome in the pictures. Their budget was 20,000 and we stayed below at just $18,500 while a few sacrifices had to be made to stay under, and luckily there was no minimum that needed to be achieved and the venue they chose was an absolute steal!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Dereka Ross, Wednesday, February 21, 2018

My name is Dereka Ross. I am from Evanston, Illinois. I currently work as a customer service manager in Rosemont, Illinois and I am a full-time mother of two beautiful girls ages 12 and 4. Event planning and DIY has always been two of my passions and pastimes that I love. I’ve always planned and hosted events for family and friends and recently branched out to plan and host events for others in my community. My official business hasn’t launched yet. Last winter I took the Sunshine Enterprises Community Business Course in which I earned a certificate in business management and business planning. I want to eventually launch my event planning business and not only do weddings and social events, but move into the corporate event atmosphere.

For Project 1, I did a wedding entitled, A R&B Love Story. The couple met at a birthday party and both have a passion for music. The reception will be held at the DoubleTree Hotel in Skokie, Illinois and the color scheme is plum, white, black, and silver.

Hi my name is Cynnamon Roundtree. I grew up in Mesquite, Tx and moved to Garland, TX  my freshman year of high school, where I graduated from South Garland High school. Before I found my calling in Event planning I aspired to be a TV personality/broadcaster . My goals in the course is to create my own Event planning business and to find my greatest strengths in this business so that I can be successful in bringing my ideals to life.  I also strive to better my social skills because communication is the key.

My experience in this course so far has taught me allot about the business. I'm eager to take this knowledge and use it. This project has exercised my brain and the excitement I feel lets me know that this business is meant for me.

With this first project, I came up with an idea of an Elegant fairy-tale wedding because all girls wish to have that dream come true. I used some of my favorite vibrant colors and gave this wedding a magical touch.

CWEP PROJECT 1

Posted By Kasia Jackowski, Tuesday, February 20, 2018
Hello Everyone!
My name is Kasia and I’m from Chicago.  Currently, I am a stay-at-home mom of my 2 year old son.  My experience with a bridal business began a few years ago, when I was employed in a local wedding salon.  Aside from that, I’ve always had a passion for decorating and crafting.  I am very excited about this course, and I am looking forward to becoming a certified wedding and event planner.

The theme for this Hawaiian wedding is neutral chic with a tropical flare.  The ceremony will take place on a local, Windward island side beach, near Ka'a'awa, Hawaii.  There will be an arch for the bride and groom, and white chairs for the guests. The reception will be in a vacation rental, The Plantation Estate, on a grand lawn, with long, rectangular tables for a more intimate setting, overlooking the sweetheart table for the bride and groom.  There will be a large dance floor under several strings of Edison lights. The décor for this wedding will all be in neutral tones: beige, tan, sand, cream, and will be accented with white orchids.  The attire for the guests are Hawaiian, button down shirts, and long slacks (no shorts), and summer dresses for the ladiesThe food will be catered with local favorites.  A mango style chicken, pineapple salsa, kalua pork, and much more.  The cake will be of fondant and have white chocolate orchids on the outside.I hope you all enjoy it.

Winter Wedding Proposal

Posted By Lucero Aceves, Tuesday, February 20, 2018
Updated: Tuesday, February 20, 2018

Hello everyone, my name is Lucero Aceves I'm from Chicago Illinois. Im a vet tech at a small animal clinic in Norwood Illinois. One of my main goals in life is to become a professional wedding and event planner. Coming from a hispanic family there is always something going on weddings, baby showers, birthdays, family gatherings, if grandma comes into town we throw a big party for that as well. My experience for project 1 was a little challenging, looking for vendors and actually calling to get pricing to stay under the budget our instructor told us to stay in. It definitely gave me a feel of how it really is going to be once we get out in the real world. For my project I chose to go with a winter wedding proposal. My project had a hot chocolate bar, followed by spiced wine and beautiful cozy decor to make guest feel warm and conferrable. Hope you all enjoy and get ideas for future events of your own. I

Posted By Chantalle Schultz-Rathbun, Monday, February 19, 2018

With working full time, moving, and taking this course it has been a roller coaster. But, I am so thankful I joined Lovegevity University. I may have had a slow start figuring out the course but here I am finishing it up!

This past project was probably the most fun for me because I finally got to put everything together. My dream of becoming a wedding planner is no longer a dream but reality.

For my Grand Opening I have partnered with The Abbot (Venue) and White House Catering.

The event is opening to newly engaged couples wanting to meet with potential vendors from the Kansas City Area. Their will be a ticket price that will be used for a grand prize and a donation to Blue Star Families.

The Grand Opening will take place April 7th from 12-5pm. Every ticket bought in advance comes with a free drink voucher. Every couple to walk in the door will be handed a profile card to be entered into all the door prizes and grand prize. Guests will be given a folder to help keep information together, a schedule of events, and my own personal brochure. Each guest will get a chance to walk around meeting all the vendors, enjoy some light appetizers provided by White House Catering, and have a nice cocktail. During the Afternoon their will be 3 workshops (all optional of course)

* Getting started and picking a venue

* Plan Your Day, Your Way

* Planning your budget

While trying to achieve my dream on becoming a certified wedding and event planner, I hope to encounter a life transforming experience which will enable me start an exciting and satisfying next chapter in my career. I knew little or nothing about wedding and event planning and in just few days of starting this course I have been able gain a lot of experience than I ever imagined.  I decided it was time to take this course because I have always been fascinated with the idea of fashion, weddings, floral designs, incredible work of art that’s being put in decorating masterpiece cakes and social gatherings. The goal is to achieve a wonderful career in wedding and event planning and hopeful someday own a business of mine.

For my first project, I am choosing to work with an interracial couple that are planning on getting married next summer. Vecas Eventos to have Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Maria Casal, a certified professional wedding and event planner, owner of Visacom S.A. advertising agency, is officially launching her new subdivision brand “Vecas Eventos” in the Guayaquil area, on Friday, April 20th at 6:00pm with an OPEN HOUSE at the Wyndham Guayaquil Hotel.

My experience in this course has been very positive, its online modality has allowed me to study at my own pace and be able to combine it with my current work. All projects require work and research. This third project helped me a lot with the next launch of my brand, from the development of its corporate image, social platforms, vision, the determination of our target group and even financial aspects that helped us to consider our growth objectives.

The project I´m presenting, it my company Grand Opening.   The event will host two different segments:  1) Meet & Greet: will include arrival, registration, signature cocktail, tour of the guests through the main salon and 2) The Opening: will include ribbon cutting ceremony, bridal fashion show, and party, will be held at the rooftop bar.   The color scheme selected is pink blush-rose-gold trendy and romantic style that will flows along with our brand corporate colors.  Almost done with the course can´t wait to officially launch my brand.

Project 1

Updated: Monday, February 19, 2018

Hello!

My name is Liza Dekker and I am 23 years old. I moved from The Netherlands where I am from to Glenview, IL about 5 months ago. I moved here to be a Au pair and experience the American Culture while living with a American family. From my Au pair agency (and the government) Au pairs have to do some classes to complete their program after a year. Most Au pairs make easy choices and do simple classes to just get it over with. Me on the other hand like to learn more and more and decided to do this Wedding/Event planner class.

To be honest I have never been to a wedding before, unfortunately never got the chance to.I have learned a lot from this project. About the wedding itself and all that comes along with it. I found out that I love the planning of the wedding although I have to say it gave me a little bit of stress too. Am I the only one? haha

My wedding is a casual wedding that has his ceremony and reception in the backyard of a little castle. My couple loves the outside and I have to say it looks amazing with the lights hanging down the threes at night and due to the casual it already gives a family feeling. My wedding has a color palette of soft pink, white, dark blue, and light brown tones.

I hope you like it!

Hi everyone!

My name is Kristen Sepe & I've lived in the Chicago are my entire life.  I'm currently a commercial insurance broker, but have always had a passion for planning events.  I also love making crafts, for example candles and miscellaneous wedding favors - I'm currently making elephants out of washcloths for a friends baby shower.  I'm up for any task and always determine to figure out how to get it done!  So far, the course was a bit more then I expected, but I love it!  It's hard to juggle work and the assignments and figure out how school "works" - turning in homework MUCH different then the last time I went to school.

My project is about a wedding in a vineyard and reception at the winery - the couple was very fun and loving and loved wine!  The color them was black, white & gold and I believe they will love what I put together for them!

To many more events!   Kristen

Hello, my name is Alicia Aldana. I am from Fullerton, California. I am currently employed at a country club in hopes to move up as a coordinator. I coach varsity softball every day, I love that I can give back to my local high school. My goal after this schooling is to get a job as a coordinator and move on to having my ow business. I love planning events and I love helping people. This career suits me perfectly. My experience through this course has been bit confusing, so many links lead to one another so I am trying to figure out what is it exactly that I have to do. I enjoyed the project because it made me feel like I actually planned this wedding. The couple I came up with are very vintage in their likings, they are very calm and love the victorian style.

CEWP Assignment 1-3 - Rustic Camp Wedding

Posted By Maggie Zeman (Yedinak), Sunday, February 18, 2018
Updated: Monday, February 19, 2018

Hello my name is Maggie Zeman and I am currently an I.T. professional.  I am currently living in the western Chicago suburbs.  My plan is to change careers and work for an event planner to start and then open my own business downstate.

Rustic Camp Wedding does not mean casual dress.  It means outdoors with a rustic cabin as the blank canvas and nature as a back drop to an elegant and FUN wedding.  Theme colors are yellow and grey with many sunflowers and baby's breath.  Music is Beatles instrumental's to incorporate the brides deceased father during the wedding vows.  Dress is semi-formal.

Menu is simple fair of farm to table, hot dogs and hamburgers (veggie burgers too!) with all the fixings, along with salad, baked beans, corn on the cob, etc, at the request of the bride.  Small cake for the cake cutting ceremony and plenty of cupcakes and cookies.  Beer and wine is available due to restrictions of the camp ground.  Plenty of water, ice tea and lemonade which are the bride and groom's favorite.  A camp fire to make smores.

Snacks of popcorn, vegetables, fruit and cheese and crackers served during wedding party photos.  Games (bags, ring toss, lawn bunco, etc.) are setup on the lawn during this time and used throughout the event.  The bride and groom should encourage use by participating in a few friendly games with guests after the meal.

The DJ is the master of ceremony and will handle introduces of the bridal party to the anticipated introduction of Mr. and Mrs.  First dance is handled right before the food is served along with the cutting of the cake.

The idea is to have FUN just as you have fun each day together!

Mountain Top Wedding Venue

Posted By Deana Pearson, Wednesday, February 14, 2018
Updated: Wednesday, February 14, 2018

This beautiful wedding is situated a top Mt. Pisgah Arboretum in the couple’s hometown of Eugene Oregon. Incorporating simple elegance and earthly tones along with the natural elements that decorate the surroundings showing off the couples strong connection with nature. Casual attire is suggested for guest as they can explore the many trails on the grounds.

A outdoor ceremony is held among peaceful trees, along side the rambling river. This brings a warm zen vibe. Also, bringing nature to life is the live greenery, ferns, peace lily's and white hydrangea's that decorate the rustic barn reception area.

There will be two food trucks on the grounds. One will be serving beverages and local crafts beers and another will have a variety of coffee drinks. High top tables surround the food truck area for guests to enjoy appetizers and drinks before moving into the pavilion area for a buffet dinner.  Round tables of 8 are set around a beautiful simple tiered cake decorated with love.

Beyond the open glass pavilion doors lays a large patio where guest can mingle and dance. Ton's of white fairy lights and large lantern balls illuminate the trees as a local fun band keep the guest dancing thru the night.
