CWEP Project 1

Posted By Haley Smitka, 53 minutes ago
Upon reading the assignment for a mood board a winter wonderland wedding immediately came to mind, but that has been done over and over countless times. I thought I would switch it up a tad while staying in the winter season. I chose a woodland winter wedding with neutral shades such as cream, camel, dark brown, and a touch of pine green to a create a forest atmosphere. I like the idea of canva, but found it difficult to convey the images with the layouts given or even when I tried doing putting the pictures together without the layout. Overall I enjoyed joining a new social media that is beneficial for inspiring ideas and do it yourself creations!

LWPI Student Experience

Posted By Lauren Arsenault, 8 hours ago

Taking the CWEP course with Lovegevity has been so much fun! It is a lot of work, but it is so simple to do once you read the book and work hard. The information in the book goes in depth on all aspects that are truly important. The podcasts are also very informative. The speakers give insight into real world wedding planning like problems they have come across and how to deal with them. This course has really prepared me to begin my career as a wedding planner. Instead of just talking about the planning aspect of it, it talks about how to actually start your business. This information is so important because I did not know all of the steps on how to launch my business in a way that will attract clients. Doing it online allowed me to work at my own pace, but the instructors were always available to answer questions. Overall It was fun to learn what I know I am going to love doing. I’m so happy I decided to do this through lovegivity. They make it an enjoyable experience. It is not stressful and every project, homework assignment, quiz, and podcast are helpful; none of it seems like busy work. It is all informative and makes sure that you understand the ins and outs of wedding planning from starting your business to expanding your brand.

Project 3-Grand Opening

Posted By Teresa Denson, Wednesday, August 16, 2017

Houston, TX, November 16, 2017:  Sarah Beth Wedding & Event Planning announces the opening of its new wedding planning business in the Northwest Houston area. Opening January 8, 2018, the company will cater to brides and customers looking for someone to plan their special events. Sarah Beth will be a source for vendor recommendations, bridal workshop series, product demos and event designing.

The office space is conveniently located near Sam Houston Tollway North and I-45 North. Included in the 1, 000 square feet office is a meeting room where there is room to layout plans and designs for your future event, a room with vendor displays and wedding portfolios for viewing, as well as a private office, waiting area and bathroom. A scheduled appointment will guarantee a wedding planner will be available for a complimentary consultation. The studio will also specialize in destination weddings for those interested.

The owner, Teresa Denson, a certified wedding and event planner, is ecstatic about opening this new space! “Houston has some great wedding planners but none like Sarah Beth Wedding and Event Planning! Our goal is to provide a beautiful space where future brides and those planning exquisite events can meet with vendors, attend educational bridal workshops and plan their event with an expert in wedding and events. This is the beginning of something special for all of Houston!”

I never considered a grand opening since my business will be ran from home for the first year at least. After taking this course I see endless possibilities and I can't wait to have my grand opening and get started!!!

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Yingxian Zheng, Tuesday, August 15, 2017

This is a back to school theme design for my clients.

Miley and Paul are a newly-engaged Chinese couple. They met each other in Beijing 101 Middle School. During the school years, Paul always helped Miley to solve her math problems and Miley always shared her favorite songs with Paul. Gradually, they felt in love. Miley and Paul bonded over their shared sweet school days, family value, and love for eating!

After graduated from high school, Paul chose to study in the best engineering University in China and Miley went to New York to learn psychology. Long distance did not separate them from heart but let them to double treasure the time they spent together. This summer, Miley finished her study and back to China. Paul proposed to Miley when they revisited their middle school, they place they met each other, and Miley said YES!

Now they want to have a wedding in August 2017, 7 years after their first kiss. They hope they can hold this ceremony in their middle school, the place that has witnessed many of their special moments. Most of the guests will be their classmates and they would love to incorporate a back to school theme in the wedding to remind their cherished and romantic school days.

Wedding theme

Key words: M & P, Because of you (their secret love code)

Color: navy blue (the theme color of their school uniform) and champagne

Style: cozy and chic, a combination of Asian and American style

Special: the couple do not drink alcohol; around 50 guests

See Your Wedding Come To Life Instantly at Local Grand Opening

The Kits and Pieces brings your dream wedding to life using new projection technology

August 15th, 2017 – MIAMI, Florida – On September 15, 2017, from 6-9 p.m., the Kits and Pieces is partnering with the Temple House in Miami Beach to bring your wedding to life in front of your eyes. With 360 degree projection technology, along with The Kits and Pieces customizable wedding planning options, guests will have the opportunity to select their wedding style from colors to flowers and more.

My experience in this course has been fairly smooth. I understand all the elements required to put together a wedding or an event, and the projects really help with bringing it all together. This project was a very thoroughly designed project because it requires knowledge of many elements from various chapters and requires you to put it all together.

This project reflects the grand opening of The Kits and Pieces at a venue in Miami Beach that is known for its "video mapping" technology. I will work with the venue to be able to have guests see their weddings come to life while they are at the event.

CWEP Project 1

Posted By Elizabeth Gonzalez, Tuesday, August 15, 2017
Updated: Tuesday, August 15, 2017

Hi, my name is Elizabeth Gonzalez I'm originally from Chicago Illinois and we are currently stationed in San Diego, California due to my husbands military orders with the United States Marine Corps. I currently plan weddings and events part time and I teach children's world dance full time in my studio. My goal is to become a full time wedding and event planner and turn it into a family business.  My experience in this course has been no less than challenging but fulfilling. I was unsure what to think  to be honest because the self study is self guided and from the explanation I received when I enrolled in the course was that you are basically on your own with no instructor, well I'm still getting help from an instructor and that's quite amazing and reassured me that I wasn't alone!  The project 1 event  I am presenting for my couple is an elegant outdoor rustic October wedding. Both the ceremony and the reception are taking place at the same venue. The guest list is quite large and the couple has decided to go with teal and gold with a BBQ  themed menu.

Project 1

Posted By Christine Brown, Tuesday, August 15, 2017
https://brownc3321.wixsite.com/cwepproject1

Hi y’all, my name is Christine Brown and I live in Kansas City. I graduated with a psychology degree and worked in an early childhood special education program for three years. Although I love working with children, my true passion is creating special events for friends and family in a creative and innovative way. I’m currently a housewife, focusing on becoming a professional wedding and event planner. In the next two years, my sister-in-law and I plan to start an event planning business around the Kansas City area.

In the past three years, I have hosted several bridal showers and parties. The overall excitement of event planning has encouraged me to invest in a future of becoming a professional wedding and event planner. Hearing positive feedback from the events I’ve held, has given me the confidence to further my education in this field. Implementing structured strategies such as A8, creating mood boards, and learning venue selection techniques have made current event planning projects more organized and efficient.

Project 1 is inspired around my sister Ally and her fiancé, Kyle’s wedding. They are a vivacious couple full of energy, who enjoy spending time together outdoors. The mood board represents the rustic elegant wedding the couple desires. A relaxed atmosphere with elegant vibes will make this bohemian romance wedding one of a kind.

My Experience

Posted By Ariana Elizabeth Silva, Monday, August 14, 2017
When I started my certification course at Lovegevity I felt as if I had little to no knowledge or experience in any aspects of wedding planning and because of that I was going not going to get anything out of the course. Now that I am in my last class before my certification next week I am so thrilled I decided to stick with this class. I have had a book full of information that I am able to have assist me with my classwork but also in the real professional world. I've also gotten to have hands on experience because of my instructor Christy Lyons bringing in a photographer, makeup artist, calligrapher, and DJ. I also feel like Lovegevity did a great job by setting up the assignments in a way so that if you were struggling to set up your business from the bottom you would have a great template for it by the end of he course. I think this certification was the perfect mix of informative but also fun at times, I would recommend Lovegevity to anyone who wanted to be an event/wedding planner as a career.

LWPI Student Experience

Posted By Crystal Devin Fisher, Monday, August 14, 2017

Taking the CWEP course with Lovegevity has been a great experience. While I do not plan on starting my own wedding planning company, I still feel that this course will be invaluable as a venue manager. I will definitely be able to provide a service to potential clients that is one step above a lot of venues in Houston. The textbook was also super helpful, and it is now a permanent fixture on my desk at work. I have a lot of brides that don't bring in an outside wedding coordinator, and I've managed to do a pretty good job up to this point. However, I think I will be even better after taking this course. I can even advise in areas outside of food & beverage since taking this course. Christy was a great instructor. We even shared some industry insider stories and tips. Bringing in different event vendors for classes was a good touch. Without that I think this course could easily be a self-teach, online course, but the hands on experience and Q&A sessions made it worth going into the classroom. This was definitely a great experience, and I had so much fun working on all the projects.

LWPI Student Experience

Posted By Catleya Sornmayura, Sunday, August 13, 2017
Throughout this course, I have learned about all the details required to put a wedding together. Though I had previous field experience on what goes into day-of coordination services, I now thoroughly understand the steps beforehand. Lovegevity does a great job of providing all the resources to research each topic in detail. I especially enjoyed the online discussions available as it provides real life encounters in a dialogue manner. The book is organized in an interesting manner. I like that it really describes the entrepreneurial side of this business but that is the part most planners would have trouble keeping track of. Overall, both in class and online, I feel comfortable approaching the hospitality industry as a wedding planner.

Lovegevity Student Experience

Posted By Azka Safdar, Sunday, August 13, 2017
Through my experience as a student with the Lovegevity Wedding Planning Institute, I've learned the various components that are needed to plan a wedding from start to finish. I specifically learned the importance of communication with vendors and remaining in constant contact with the client to address any hiccups that may come along the way. The course has been very helpful and will provide good guidance in my future career as a certified wedding planner. The material provided gives good insight and allows for the ability to construct a basic outline to help plan the event.

CWEP - Project 2 - Selling Your Services

Posted By Catleya Sornmayura, Sunday, August 13, 2017

The Kits and Pieces as a whole will focus on both event decoration kits and weddings. In the wedding sector, I will focus mainly on Day-Of Coordination services, even though I will offer the option of full planning. Since there are multiple parts to this business, I would like to incorporate the party kits and the wedding and event coordination into one unit, either purchasing a kit automatically comes with the wedding/event service, and vice versa. I feel the best option is to focus on Day-Of/Month-Of Coordination as this will be a part-time opportunity for me.

CWEP 1

Posted By Nicole Vejar, Friday, August 11, 2017

Hi there!

I currently work as the Assistant Food & Beverage Director at Oakdale Golf and Country Club, and have now been given the task of handling all weddings & events. While I have lots of knowledge in the event planning field, I know there is SO MUCH more I could learn, and I am so excited to!

My inspiration for this assignment was the beach wedding I had always dreamed of. I opted for a  local wedding, so that my family and friends could all attend. However, a little piece of me still wishes I would have done the destination wedding ;)

The colors are gold, turquoise, and touches of blush. It has a modern/beachy feel, lots of seafood, and relaxed vibe.

CWEP Project 2 - Selling Your Services

Posted By Lauren Arsenault, Friday, August 11, 2017

Hi, my name is Lauren. I really enjoyed this project. It helped me get an idea of how I should organize all of my information. It also helped me see how I should present myself to the client.

This project present my future company "Lauren's Wedding & Event Planning" which I plan to open in Connecticut when I am certified.

Essay:

At Lauren’s Wedding & Events Planning, we understand that every bride has been dreaming of her wedding day since she was a child and we want to make that dream a reality. Because the wedding day is the most important day in a couple’s lives, we strive to reach every goal you set in a fun and effortless way. We offer a variety of packages for not only wedding planning, but for pre- and post-wedding day events. Every bride is different and we take that into consideration when helping guide you through what packages to choose. Whether you want to spend a lot or a little, we’ve got the services for you. We want to take away the stress that brides have when taking on all the challenges of planning their own wedding. Leave the stressing to us, and you can have all the fun. We are certified for a reason! We hope you will choose Lauren’s Wedding & Event Planning for your big day. We are sure we can make it a day to remember.

We have done a number of weddings for every budget, type of wedding, and market. We have done many cultural weddings and are looking forward to planning even more! Although we have not been in business for more than a couple years, we have done a wide range of weddings and our experience is vast. Our one-year goal is to get more clientele and to do more types of weddings. Our five-year goal is to expand our brand by offering in-house catering, bakery, and more. This way we have complete control over the process and outcome for every bride. Our ten-year goal is to expand our business to the tri-state area. We want Lauren’s Wedding & Event Planning to have the honor and opportunity to make bride’s dreams come true, not only in CT, but Massachusetts and New York as well. SELLING MY BUSINESS-PROJECT 2

Posted By Abimbola Akinwotu, Wednesday, August 9, 2017
Updated: Wednesday, August 9, 2017

As a designer of wedding events for five years, I found passion for design, I am inspired by fashion, travel, floral design etc.

I have been in event industry for like five years, I am a trained event decorator, I have interfaced with food managers, bakers, DJ’s and lots more. I have worked with event designers to create venues, I have vast knowledge of the industries coupled with knowing reputable vendors to work with, all these are what inspires me to become an event planner.

I have taken professional courses to become a certified event decorator and presently taking wedding and event planning certification course with lovegevity to enhance my skill in event planning. I also intend to intern with a well-established event planning company to be able to have on the job experience in event planning.

Abimbola Akinwotu is a determined and a hardworking person who will put in all it takes to achieve her goals.

This project has helped me to sit down to write out  vision, mission statement, short term goals and long term goals of  Pristinus Events. I also did my market research and develope strategies to market my business.

We look forward to the grand opening of our Event planning business.

In Houston, Texas, July 18, 2017 Precious Moments Events announced the start of their business. Their goal is to give their clients a moment that they will never forget. Precious Moments caters to every and any client but specializes in Mexican weddings. My experience in the course as the class comes to an end is amazing! I've been able to learn so much about planning and starting your own business that it leaves me astonished about how little I knew! The project was a great project because it gave me the feeling of opening my own business and all the aspects that went into it! I also had so much fun planning the grand opening and getting to use my creative side. My project grand opening was a pink and blue theme that has food, a presentation, graffiti artist, dj, photo booth, candy bar, and more! I want it to be a celebration of all the hard work put into the business!
