CWEP Project 2

Posted By Lisa Sanchez, Thursday, April 27, 2017
Updated: Thursday, April 27, 2017

Hello, my name is Lisa Hernandez Bobb, I’m orgininally from Houston Texas. I’m a mother of 2 and very happily married. I’ve enjoyed being in this class, and I’ve learned so much. I started this class in March, and I’ve already learned so much. I’m so excited to get my Certification at the end of May. My instructor is wonderful (Cheryl Allgood) is amazing, she’s the best.

I talked about a Wedding Venue, and how much I enjoyed researching all of the Vendors and Bridal Boutique’s.  I’m taking my experience while in this class and making sure that I incorporate everything that I have learned. Our instructor has brought in real live speakers, and I’ve learned so much from them.

Project 2 was a little intimidating, but it was a very good learning experience. It emphasized about how to have a Client Profile sheet, and the first impression you get when meeting with your potential new clients.

Project 3: Grand Opening

Posted By Lauren Grzymala, Thursday, April 27, 2017

My name is Lauren Grzymala, a soon-to-be Certified Wedding and Event Planner, and graduate of The Wedding Planning Institute, a division of Lovegevity. While I am going to be newly certified, I am no stranger to the bridal industry and customer service. I work as a full-time store manager in a local bridal salon, and have planned events ranging from graduation parties, to weddings, to surprise parties, and various other events. I graduated from high school, not really sure what it was I wanted to do for my career. It didn't take long for me to figure out that my passion lie in wedding and event planning, especially after planning my own wedding. I decided I wanted to help others plan their special day, and be a part of that experience from start to finish, and I quickly found no better school than The Wedding Planning Institute.

This final project is a culmination of everything I have worked for over the last several months. This business has become my passion, and to finally be able to step into this industry on my own two feet, words cannot describe the pride I feel. I found my calling, and with the education I have received from Lovegevity, I can wake up every morning doing exactly what I love.

W.E.D WEDDING & EVENTS DESIGN, LLC OPENS IN FORT LAUDERDALE

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (April 20, 2017) – W.E.D Wedding & Events Design, LLC is excited to announce the Grand Opening of their new Wedding and Events Planning and Design business in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at 11:30AM taking place in the courtyard at The Setai Miami Beach.

Project 3 forced me to look at the business aspect of what I desire to create in a company. Though I was not completely ready for everything that was required, this course gave me the "little push" we sometimes need in life to get the ball rolling. I loved envisioning and collecting my ideas for this grand opening event and look forward to making a reality very soon!

This project will give an overview of Wedding & Events Design's Grand Opening celebration that will serve as a mix and mingle for guests and vendors during a brunch cocktail party. It will also show how we will use every moment to capture guests’ attention with live jazz music and high fashion “living art” performances. A sponsored interactive raffle will focus on client-vendor interaction for entry.

Project 2 Blog with Canva

Project 2 Blog

Alana Etheridge who is a graduate from Wilberforce University, BA and William Woods University, MBA is known for her excellent negotiation skills and access to quality vendors across the nation.  She serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Simply Beautiful Event Management.  She has planned and executed events since 1987.

I started the class the end of March of this year and will complete all requirements for the Certified Wedding and Event Planner (CWEP) this May 2017.

The class, our instructor Cheryl Allgood, and my fellow classmates are amazing.  We are learning so much and have been exposed to various vendors in the industry.  As I work on my projects and get first hand info regarding the industry, I feel so confident that I will have a successful event planning business.

Project 2 has been about selling my services.  It focuses on the prospective client by introducing the bride and groom to the services offered which is customized for the couple. Details include: initial meeting, packages offered, additional services offered, initial agreements, bridal party checklist, and questionnaire.

This project and class has really made me focus on my brand for the event planning business.  I created a mood board that I pinned to Pinterest and attached to this blog.  This mood board represents my company and the current trends and styles.

CWEP Project 2

Posted By Ericka L. De Haan, Thursday, April 27, 2017

Hi, my name is Ericka de Haan. I'm about halfway through the Wedding and Event Planning course at Tarrant County Community College. SO far, I've really enjoyed the class and everything it has taught me. each week, we've had a different vendor speak to us about their business and it's been very interesting to learn about each aspect that goes into a wedding.

Project 2: Selling Your Services was a lot of work but worth it in the end. I learned many valuable things that I can use long after the class, including my packages, bridal profile questionnaire, and my research on civil ceremonies and marriage licenses. The mood board I have attached represents what I love, romantic and chic weddings with a hint of bohemian and natural.

I have also attached my company name and logo, which also represents me and what I love.

Thanks!

PROJECT1

Posted By Farnaz GHANAAT, Thursday, April 27, 2017

PROJECT 1

Golnaz and Afshin are late students in their master degree of "Air and Space" engineering. They both come from rich & supportive families with lovely parents willing to spend money and being engaged on their big day, but bride and groom are most likely wishing to make everything as simple as possible and more natural looking/ earth friendly, get some help from their families as well as spending their own money by applying for a loan. A big party of closest relatives in bride's parents' house and their pretty garden would allow at least a 100 capacity of people and manageable enough with setting up the ceremony in the back yard, a casual buffet style dinner table under the long covered patio, and a more formal set up of dinner table for elderly inside the house at dinning room table for all other people who don't want to hang out outside in the garden. kids are more than welcome to be part of the ceremony, for reception they will have a nanny in the game room, when they're tired enough they will enjoy their time playing with all the age appropriate entertainments including arts and crafts.

Many Thanks,

Farnaz Ghanaat Kojouri

Project 2: Selling Your Services

Posted By Lisa Wells, Thursday, April 27, 2017

Hello,  My name is Lisa Wells.  We are about halfway through the Wedding & Event Planning Course at Tarrant County College NW.  I have so enjoyed the experience so far.  Mrs. Cheryl Allgood is an excellent and knowledgeable instructor.  She's been so gracious to get several of her vendor contacts to come speak with us.  It is so interesting to learn the different aspects of the business, business insight and tips from these professionals.  I personally have a background in business, but love all things creative.  That translated into me wanting to become a Certified Wedding Planner.

Project 2 has been all about selling my services.  It has been a lot of hard work and I have learned a lot along the way.  It really made me think about my brand and what my focus would be, including short and long term goals for my future event planning business.  I created a mood board that I pinned to Pinterest and also attached to this blog.  This mood board represents my company because I love all things beautiful, whimsical and romantic. Whatever the client's preference may be, coordinating and designing is my specialty.

Thank you!

Project 1 Plan A Wedding

Posted By Rebecca M. Inderhees, Wednesday, April 26, 2017

Winston and Edna met on a Sunday afternoon while riding their bikes through Central Park. Both New York City natives, their instant chemistry and love of the city helped them grow together and become not only each other’s soul mates but best friend. Winston, an acclaimed chef  and Edna, a food critic enjoy nice dinners and live music in their free time. Having New York City as not only their meeting place but an incredible backdrop, they have decided to have their ceremony under the stars in beautiful Central Park. Guests will enjoy a beautiful night with softly lit white lanterns hanging from the historic trees of central park glittering with lights and candles to make it a night to remember! Edna and Winston chose a classic black tie event. The dress a beautiful Vera Wang and the Tuxedo from Calvin Klein. On wedding day, Edna will wear her custom Tiffany's ring. The bride’s bouquet and all of the wedding parties flowers will be made from stunning white orchids.

Guests will arrive at the venue at Central Park by following the signs to the wedding space where they will be greeted by the amazing lantern tree. Guests are encouraged upon arrival to sign the guest book and place any gifts or cards on the welcome table. Small and elegant appetizers will be passed as well as the couples handcrafted signature cocktail.

Winston and Edna's night begins with a romantic outdoor ceremony in classic white chairs circling the bride and groom in an intimate setting. Guests walk over to the outdoor three course meal provided by Lago restaurant. Cocktails and cake transition the guests into the night with live music provided by Groove Knights. The couple ends their night with a sparkler exit and an amazing fireworks finale to send them on their way! On the way out guests can take the fun and earth friendly gifts of a tree that can be planted to remind them of the beautiful trees in Central Park.

LWPI Experience

Posted By Janice Yeh, Wednesday, April 26, 2017

Hi all, my name is Janice Yeh and I started this certificate class in March! I decided to take this course because before I graduated from university, I realized that I will like to become a wedding planner. This course has definitely taught me a lot of things that I have never thought of.

Throughout the course, we started learning from the basic information of how a wedding is like, what's in the wedding, and what the responsibilities for the bridal party and vendors are. All the information are perfectly included in the book and in the lecture. The instructor is awesome! She talks a lot about her experiences and her opinions, she even brought photography and floral design speaker in.

The three projects definitely make us learn more about how to really start a business and what needs to be done prior to opening up a business. This 10 weeks experience has been great and I learned a lot from this class. I feel like I am one step closer to my dream career.

My LWPI Experience

Posted By Yajaira Acevedo, Tuesday, April 25, 2017
Updated: Wednesday, April 26, 2017

The first thing I will say about this is "prepare to work your butt off"!This is a class that digs down deep into all aspects of planning, from A8 to vendors to style and negotiations. When you come here, you will find out very quickly if you have the passion for this. As I come to the end of my classes, I have found that my passion is stronger then ever. I am almost overwhelmed with the amount of information I have received and the knowledge I have attained in these far too short (and work jammed) weeks. This has been a great learning experience for me. I have learned how quickly you can get mired in the details and have learned to pull myself back, as this class has taught me it's not about being perfect to me, it's how to make it perfect for my clients.

My LWPI Experience

Posted By Ayesha Fardell, Tuesday, April 25, 2017

Hi Everyone! My name is Ayesha Fardell and I am the owner of the wedding and special events company, Elle Qui Vit. While I started my company before enrolling in LWPI, I feel this course has given me so many tools to grow my business, be more creative and work more effectively. I am very excited about earning my certification and beginning to implement all the new things I've learned. I'd say some of the most helpful tools have been the A8, learning about contracts and negotiations, and marketing my business both locally and on a wider scale. I am feeling very motivated to work both in and on my business and put in the work to make it successful. Thanks LWPI!
