My name is Sabrina Lewellen. I have lived in Houston, TX pretty much my entire life. In that time, I had ideas about what I wanted to do with my life but few stuck. As I got older, I realized I had a passion for planning. I was always the one to plan get-together's and events amongst my friends. It was something that brought me joy. When I first came to Lonestar, I had no idea I was going to be a wedding planner. I thought I was gonna transfer to a University and pursue a career as an Interior Designer, but something about it didn't feel right. My mom was the one who suggested I look into being a wedding planner. I had always loved weddings and decided that this might be a good fit. My goal right now is to get my certificate, finish my two year associates of arts degree, find a job in the wedding industry, maybe intern for another planner and eventually open up my own venue.
I've only been in the course for 3-4 weeks now. So far it has helped me have a better understanding of the industry and what's all involved. This project especially helped me with my time management skills, my organization skills whilst giving me a better view of what to expect.
Th project I am presenting is a burgundy, rustic wedding set at Big Sky Barn in Montgomery, TX. It is supposed to create a fairy tale like atmosphere.
