Hello, my name is Tatiana Green-Beaver. I'm 28 years old, born and raised in Dallas, TX. Before discovering my passion in Event Planning, I was working at a Healthcare company doing implementation for small business healthcare benefits. Discovering that planning was a gift has been the highlight of my life, it started as a teen hobby, asking for any opportunity to turn regular family gathering into extravagant themed and decorated shindigs. I take full charge and most say they see me come out of my passive shell when I'm in my event element. My goal is to get as much knowledge that I can from this course, to come in contact with vendors to establish at least name to face recognition for starts, get my hands on doing some event planning work for already established planners. I want to know it all and if opportunity prevails do it all!!!
My experience with this course hasn't been all easy but definitely challenged me to push myself. My professor made great use of our learning experiences, bring in vendors from Stationery, Tax/Accounting Experts, Wedding Etiquette to Venue Tours. Course has given me some start-up tools to implement my business plans and marketing.
The project I am present is a luxury baby shower for a couple that has had difficulties and struggles with prior pregnancies but finally a miracle happened. Mother-to-be was able to carry the expected baby boy to full-term. The theme for the shower is The Great Gatsby, surroundings of the event will include Gold Chivalric Chairs with pearl draping. White Ostrich Feather Centerpieces with crystal beads. Champagne glass pyramids. Delectable sweets bar catered to bowties and mustaches for their expected baby boy. Instead of table numbers the table will be named creatively to match theme: Busby Jazz club, Flappers Lounge, Capone’s Hideaway, Machine Gun Alley, Caraways' Bond, Myrtle's Valley of Ashes. For music, the couple decided to play on the word “BABY”, the playlist will consist of oldies and newbies with ‘baby’ in lyrics. Attire will be mix between the Roaring Twenties and Harlem Renaissance. Bartender/waiters will be dressed in costume as well.
