CWEP Project #1

Updated: Monday, July 17, 2017

My name is Kathryn & after a journey of self reflection I have decided that I can no longer let my creative passion take a back seat to a unfulfilled 9-5. Day after day I found myself questioning why I let a paycheck take priority over my dreams. Despite excelling in multiple roles at my engineering company, I decided to resign and put all my energy in this ours along with the event design course.

My favorite aspect of this project was designing the website. When I first started this project, I thought planning was the route for me BUT this project helped me discover that DESIGN is my true path. With this said, I did enjoy planning this "Rose Gold Fairytale". The inspiration is a short moment in time between two people now being extended for their friends and family to share.  color story of blush, gold & white will transport guests at The Addison into a dreamy world of banyan trees & windswept love songs.

Hi Monique!

Glad a moment of joy resonated with you. I struggled at first as well, just trying to find a rhythm. Those moments when we conquer a challenge, big or small, help shape us, so glad to hear you slayed the project! Thanks for your kind words. Just gave me the extra boost I needed to tackle the next project!

Love this mood board Kathryn! Like you, I think I have realized that design is my true passion as well. I love the entire creative process but designing the overall mood and feel of an event by combining all the special little elements brings me the greatest feeling of accomplishment. Good luck to you as you wrap up this course and move on to the next one!

HI Beth,

Thanks so much for the feedback! Looks like we are creatively aligned =]. Yes, yes, yes! Creating the overarching theme & aesthetic is when the magic within gets the attention it needs outwardly. Thanks so much & best of luck to you as well!
